In my 77 years of listening to the best the industry has to offer; I have never experienced anyone that even comes close to the ability that AJ possesses. There are over 150 videos of this genius on UA-cam that are a testament to this unrivaled talent.
See the same comment here a lot. There is no way to compare a professionally recorded show from a Cell phone recording, no matter how great a phone, or how great the editing and clean up is...still a phone after all. Great reaction/comments and all but these two performances cannot be compared.
@@CarlD70 true, Carl. Soundwise one can not. For us Angels we know she can everything with her voice and does everything intentionally, specially life on stage. As one who knows that she runs Jazz in her veins, and being on Elvis' stage, we know she were just fully floating and enjoying.. watch her Mic work! I never saw her doing that before. She was so into her zone which created both versions each one a unique peace of art. And to the topic of tired voice and not feeling so good... Who tells Tim that she sang 38 songs that night 😅. Did anyone heard fatigue?
Thank you for your insightful reaction and comments. I really appreciate a reaction like this comparing a vocalist at different ages. It is always impactful to go back and then forward in time. Here is a brief biography on Angelina.. Norwegian born Angelina Jordan began singing at the age of one and a half, and by age three was listening to jazz and classics legends on repeat. Her grandmother was her greatest influence, but Angelina chose her own path. Her first studio performance was at age 7, singing I Who Have Nothing. She won Norway's Got Talent at the age of only 8, singing old time classics from Billie Holliday and George Gershwin, and became one of the youngest ever vocalists to win an international Got Talent Show! Her performance at 9 years old of Screamin Jay Hawkins, I Put a Spell on You is considered one of the finest jazz recordings ever of a 9-year-old vocalist! Angelina also went viral on America's Got Talent the champions in 2020 with her unique versions of Bohemian Rhapsody and Goodbye Yellow Brick Road. Angelina sings in English which is only her third language! She is a true prodigy. She is now 18, and has recorded a huge library of songs, including covers and originals. A major attraction to Angelina's music is the emotion and attitude she conveys, Even though she may not have experienced the life events! She is known as the barefoot princess of 1,000 voices as she can adjust her tone, style, and register for any song or genre. She was signed by Republic Records when she was 14. She was not widely promoted for a few years, as her family wanted to allow her a normal childhood. However, things have changed since she graduated school in the past year. She released two original music video singles from Republic Records, Love Don't Let Me Go, and Now I'm the Fool, coinciding with her new six song EP called Old Enough. She performed two shows in Las Vegas in February, and also performed Unchained Melody at the Nobel Peace Prize in Oslo last December. She performed in Los Angeles in September. She is currently working with Toby Gad, a multi Grammy award-winning producer and composer, and has released two songs. If I were a boy, originally by Beyoncé, and Bad Valentine, which was officially released at her September 20th concert in LA. We believe a world tour could be in the making to coincide with the release of an album. Here is a semi-chronological UA-cam playlist for Angelina of over 200 songs, beginning with 16 performances including originals, her EP, and a few specialty songs. Then it starts chronologically beginning with Gloomy Sunday from Norway's Got Talent. ua-cam.com/play/PL2v8kgVeo4EbQD6l_WAVjOfItquzW7oEc.html&si=HrEm55lV164yKJqu Here is an extended playlist of approximately 400 performances compiled and categorized, thanks to mosttodo10. ua-cam.com/video/IxPiumYD_r0/v-deo.htmlsi=anjDyUnXdkPjCEf0 Why does Angelina sing barefoot? The answer may makes many people emotional. It is related to a promise she made to herself and to the world when she was only 6 years old. She was traveling in the Middle East with her mom and grandmother and they came across a young orphan girl with no shoes and scarred feet. Angelina gave the girl her own favorite shoes. Angelina ask the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and she said a doctor, but she could not because she had to take care of her siblings. She asked Angelina the same question and Angelina said I want to sing for the world. The young girl said she would pray for Angelina. Since then, Angelia has forever performed barefoot as a reminder of all those less fortunate. At age 9 she wrote a book about this experience, Between two Hearts, becoming the youngest ever published author in Norway. She also has helped raise millions for children's charities. She even stated at 8 years old that she would be donating her winnings from Norway's Got Talent to charities. She is a special individual, and one you cannot follow without developing a special bond. Angelina captures hearts because she is humble and has compassion for humanity. She is a messenger of love, light, and hope, wrapped in a blanket of humility. Her stated goal from childhood was to sing for the world to spread love and peace. I trust this will cause you to embrace her as millions of others have, and that you will continue down the rabbit hole from which you will not want to escape. Peace and love. LOL. I WILL DO BETTER NEXT TIME! Actually, this is the only artist I've ever done this for. It is a whole different experience when you follow an artist from childhood to adulthood. You learn about her roots, personal life, family life, professional progression, etc. Iin essence, you feel like part of the family. It is the one time in my Life as a fan of music that I have truly appreciated an artist not just because of their music but because of who they are as a person. So there is a method to the madness. 😁
@ronraskind Very insightful, Ron. She's one of the rare entertainers who will surprise you each time you hear her. So it takes broad exposure to understand not only her versatility, but her mental & physical conditioning to handle a demanding schedule.
Angelina performed two shows on February 29, 2024, at Westgate in Las Vegas and I was at both shows. She hasn't performed many concerts in recent years. After the pandemic eased, she performed 3 concerts in Norway in 2022. I have attended her 3 concerts in the USA, Portsmouth NH in September 2023, Las Vegas 2/29/24 and Los Angeles 9/20/24. Angelina is improving with each concert. Her bio reads like music royalty and is far too long to post here, but the highlights are, winning Norway's Got Talent at age 8, performing at the Save the Children event at the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony at age 8. Angelina opened the show for Quincy Jones's 85th birthday celebration at the O2 Arena in London at age 12. At 13, she earned the Golden Buzzer on AGT The Champions for her genius arrangement of "Bohemian Rhapsody" which the members of Queen loved so much they allowed her to copyright it. Angelina was invited to "Le Bal", the annual debutante ball in Paris at age 17. Shortly after that she performed "Unchained Melody" at the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony, becoming the first artist to perform at the event twice before the age of 18. Angelina has told us, by age 18, she has written more than 100 songs and we have been blessed with 16 to date. Here is the list. "What is Life" first sung at age 11. We don't know how old she was when she wrote each song. Age presented is her age when she first sang it. "Oslo" age 11 "Shield" age 12 "Million Miles" age 14 we know she wrote this one in the days after her maternal grandfather passed in 2019 when she was 13 "7th Heaven" age 15 "Love Don't Let Me Go" age 17 "Now I'm the Fool" age 17 "Fire and Rain" age 17 "It's All My Fault" age 17 "Good in Goodbyes" age 17 "Diamond" age 17 "Our Time" age 17 "Princess of Ruins" age 18 ..... debuted at her 2 shows in Las Vegas 2/29/24 "Bad Valentine" age 18 worked with Toby Gad "Thank You" age 18 debuted at her Glendale concert 9/20/24 "What Am I to You" age 18 debuted at her Glendale concert Should include songs for which she was the first to sing "I'm Still Holding Out for You" age 10 .... considered one of her best vocal performances by many "Song for A" age 12 "Above the Water" a EDM song released January 31, 2020 "We're the Best" sung with RedOne at the FIFA Awards February 27, 2023 Angelina wrote new lyrics for two famous songs by Amy Winehouse, "Back to Black" and "Rehab" since it was inappropriate for a preteen to sing the original lyrics. For "Back to Black" Angelina wrote the new lyrics in the 24 hours prior to the recording, then needed just two takes
@@EthanolFuelGuy Angelina was 7 when she auditioned for Norway's Got Talent and was still 7 for the Judge's Cut Round. She turned 8 before the semi-finals. Angelina told a little white lie on America's Got Talent, saying she was 7 when she won NGT.
As a 10-year-old, she was spectacular with this song. But you have to differentiate. Great TV recording quality and just this song. Two consecutive shows in Las Vegas with a total of 39 songs. Even an 18-year-old gets tired of that. Then recorded with a smartphone. So the recording quality isn't ideal either. But you can also see her live on December 14th at the Christmas concert in LA.
Everything you hear is all Angelina and no singing lessons she picks which song to sing does the arrangement for the band she is an Expert at her craft
Angelina has a positive attitude where she wants to take her career, and it's paying off. Even though she's having contract negotiations, she's determined to fulfill her dreams with Toby. Angelina your making music history and that was meant to be. So follow your instincts!😊❤😊❤😊❤
Great reaction! We have been blessed with videos documenting Angelina's remarkable vocal development ever since she was 6 years old, through her three startling performances which won her Norway's Got Talent at 7 and 8 all the way until now at 18. She will astonish you time after time performing songs of almost every genre except maybe opera. She is simply the best. 😎
Angelina’s greatest influence and inspiration is her grandmother Mery Zamani, Mery introduced Angelina to the old classic songs and Jazz when Angelina was 1 1/2 years old, Angelina won Norways Got Talent at 8 years old, I agree you can learn to sing from a young age and improve over time, but Angelina is mainly self taught and was born to sing, she is a musical prodigy and Jazz and soul flows through her veins, you cannot teach Angelina’s phenomenal talent it’s ingrained in her soul!
I have been listening to Angelina for a long time now as a child and there have been many times I’ve said to myself, I liked her singing better than then now. Then again there are other times where I’m really amazed at how good she is as an adult, but I’m not quite sure because I don’t know enough about producing music whether they’re doing anything to her voice or not. Back when she was young. It was all just pure vocals no mixing no Auto to know nothing!!!❤❤❤❤❤
Great analysis, however, Angelina is known for her lower register! The first video is professionally produced! The Las Vegas show you saw was from a single cellphone camera that had audio compression! If you do more of her live concerts from I suggest you use videos from James Thiel or Chris Walker’s UA-cam channels where they have been able to clean up the cellphone audio! Believe me she has taken care of her vocal instrument from an early age! In addition, her family has been and continues to be very protective of her! Please do continue to go down the rabbit hole, the Angels will come and support your channel!
Very fascinating analysis! I didn’t go to the Vegas shows, but it is my understanding that Angelina performed THIRTY NINE songs between the two back-to-back shows on the evening of February 29th! I have definitely been more impressed with her earlier versions of Feeling Good, and I would bet that this Vegas performance was towards the end of the evening. You will come to find out that Angelina has NO problem delivering low notes. That is what she is known for, in addition to having the most beautiful voice of the twenty first century. I really look forward to following your journey discovering Angelina Jordan! 🎶💙👣
For whatever it’s worth, her most recent original “Bad Valentine” is over-the-top spectacular, particularly her most recent “jazz” version. She has managed to reimagine her OWN song in a way that makes it sounds totally new. They are both amazing with the latter being my preferred version. There currently are probably close to six or more performances out there (live and in the studio) and every one of them is uniquely beautiful. Here are two links… a live version of Bad Valentine (produced by her co-writer Grammy winner Toby Gad) and the aforementioned spectacular “Jazz” version: “BV” live at the Alex theater in LA, September 20, 2024: m.ua-cam.com/video/S030JbpJz1w/v-deo.html&pp=ygUmQW5nZWxpbmEgam9yZGFuIGJhZCB2YWxlbnRpbmUgdG9ieSBnYWQ%3D And the “JAZZ” version of BV: [audio only] m.ua-cam.com/video/6Ln9Tajsuzk/v-deo.html&pp=ygUrQW5nZWxpbmEgam9yZGFuIGJhZCB2YWxlbnRpbmUgcGlhbm8gZGlhcmllcw%3D%3D
@@TimWelchVocalStudio Also, you still haven't heard her lowest of registers. That's why the latest was even lower than Nina's. Angelina has a crazy lower range, maybe not as developed as Nina's still she is 18 years old. I say she is even lower than Nina. Hint: Can Angelina get in the low register of Elvis?
@@TimWelchVocalStudio No miming/lip-sync in concerts or live software help. 100% Raw how it should be, with imperfections. I am not a vocal coach or anything but, the recording is from a phone, so certain words weren't captured because of that.
She has a newer original called "Bad Valentine" that she did in several versions--yes she does covers to her own songs and that is her jazz background. You will almost never hear her sing the same song exactly the same twice. I will leave you with a bluesier version live, a more rock version (some pedal thumping) live, and a studio jazz version from Toby Gad's "Piano Diaries". You will hear her bring out a totally different emotional bent in the jazz version which I think is her best work yet. Simple backing so you can hear every detail she puts forth in every word. This will give you a small peek into her versatility. There are now a lot of songs she has repeated now that she is more active singing live. I will leave 3---"Unchained Melody" Nobel Peace Prize was prof. recorded, "I'd Rather Go Blind" 12yo raspy version and her L.A. concert blues version with Jimmy Z., and "When We Were Young" 13 and her Vegas concert version (spectacular) use James Thiel's site. ua-cam.com/video/yTjzhPSVguc/v-deo.html&start_radio=1&rv=S030JbpJz1w blues/jazz ua-cam.com/video/S030JbpJz1w/v-deo.html live LA ua-cam.com/video/6Ln9Tajsuzk/v-deo.html Jazz version Excited to hear more as I am not a singer but have a decent ear and she always talks to us through song.
How nice to see she is still singing!! Thanks for breaking down how she was able to sing like that at such a young age. I felt the same thing. She sounded better in her young performance. I am going to have to go down the rabbit hole! Thanks so much for doing this. What a fun idea.
Totally agree. I like her younger music better. I still go back and listen to those songs often. Sometimes, I feel like she is trying too hard to be jazzy and soulful.
Really cannot compare a professional produced and recorded video (10 yr old) to a Cell phone recorded video/audio, does not work, never will no matter how much editing and "clean up" people do, a cell recording is just that, a phone, no matter how great the phone is.
Angelina has many original songs at different ages from around 12 years old, also after signing with Republic Records at 14 years old, also an EP at 17 years old, the EP is called ( Old Enough) all six songs on the EP are fire 🔥,there are also two visualisers from the EP, recently Angelina has been working on new material with Grammy Award winner Toby Gad,Feeling Good at 10 years old is absolutely fantastic, and obviously there is a difference between 10 and 17 years old in a Artists vocal, Angelina is a joy to listen to at any age she is a phenomenal singer, I have attended many of Angelina’s live performances from 12 - 18 years old, her stage presence is stunning her live vocals phenomenal, thanks 🙏
You are so good at this, absolutely love your videos, thanks so much for sharing! 🌹 I want to tell you only one thing about this artist. There are countless of reactors who has done a deep dive into her catalogue, and it is very common that even after 50-60 reactions, they discover their new favorite performance. She is incredibly diverse, and talented in so many ways. I understand you probably wont do that many reactions, just know that even with your advanced ears, you need to listen to alot more to truly grasp how good she is. Anyways, thanks again for this! See you in the next one, cant wait 💖
I was at. Eva’s. She actually performed 19 songs per set, 20 different songs all together as she replaced Moon River with My Funny Valentine in the 2nd set.
Angelina is mature way beyond her young years but yet she is still a very humble little girl of 10 and 18 years old here. Angelina has done cover songs for a few artists so far: From 18 months with a portion of a Whitney Huston song in her crib while holding a microphone almost as big as she was, to now 18 years old with two Peace prize performances one before her teen years and one in her later teen years' , here is a short list of about 80 different artist she has already covered with absolute mastery and even improving on a great majority of them , while still a pre-teen and barely into her teen years as well. : Adele, A'Ha, Alan Walker, Amy Winehouse, Andy Williams, Aretha Franklin, Audrey Hepburn, Avicii , Bill Withers, Billie Holiday, Bing Crosby , Bobby Vinton, Cass Elliot, Charles Aznavour , Charlie Chaplin, Cher, Chris Isaac, Dean Martin, Dinah Washington , Dolly Parton , Doris Day , Duffy, Dusty Springfield , Ella Fitzgerald, Elton John, Elvis, Estelle, Ethel Merman , Etta James, Frank Sinatra, Frankie Valle, Fred Astaire, Freddie Mercury , Gene Autry , Gloria Gaynor , Halsey, Harry Belafonte , Jackson 5, James Brown, Jim Reeves , Jimmie Boyd , John Legend, Josh Groban , Judy Garland , Julie London , Lana Del Rey, Leslie Gore, Lionel Ritchie, Lou Rawls , Louis Armstrong, Mamas and the Papas, Maria Carey , Marshmello, Michael Buble, Michael Jackson, Miley Cyrus , Nancy Sinatra, Nancy Wilson , Nat King Cole , Nina Simone, November Ultra, Paloma Faith, Patsy Cline, Perry Como , Queen, Ray Charles, Rihanna , Roberta Flack, Robyn , Ruby & the Romantics, Sam Smith , Screamin' Jay Hawkins , Selena Gomez , Shirley Bassey, Sia , The Beatles , The Righteous Brothers, The Weekend, Tom Jones, Vaughan Monroe , Whitney Houston, Willie Nelson. I may have missed some as her list keeps growing , not to mention her own originals as well. Welcome to her world full of many vocal surprises.
Thank you Tim for your reaction and welcome to Angelina's world, firstly the second performance was 2 concerts in one evening about 40 songs and no recording was allowed so this is what her Angels (fans) who adore her by the way like a family member could covertly manage from cell phones so the audio varies from ok to not good but for those who couldn't make the concert we will take what we can get. Her lower register is a thing of beauty she can go lower. yes 10 was a massive evolution for her, She was first recorded in her crib at 18 months old singing a line from a Whitney song, her Granma who is Iranian renown artist and poet played jazz around the house , by 3 AJ was borrowing her mothers iPad scouring you tube for all the jazz greats and taught herself to sing, she had after school music classes learning to play instruments, arranging but no vocal training only vocal heath because her family and the teachers agreed not to interfere with what she was doing already vocally. by 5 she was crazing her mother to sign her up to the Simon show AGT , she had to wait until she was 7 yrs old she eventually auditioned on Norway's got talent with her performance of "Gloomy Sunday" Billie Holiday this was her choice no one chooses for her, her performance went viral , ang the legend of AJ was born. She went on to win the show at 8 years old agents flew from all around the world to sign her up her family turned them all down so she could have a normal childhood, and during school holidays they travelled the world where her career actually started mostly chartable event to help children ,so she has sang live her whole life with single accompaniments, jazz bands, orchestra's she is a veteran at 18 yrs old, she has also been arranging her own music and covers since she was 8yrs old, she has given her heart and soul to what she loves to do and what she knew she was here for so her whole life is documented and recorded mainly the younger years by her Granma who recorded everything not just her singing so we have been privileged to watch and experience her grow up the love between her angels is like a family for her and us a Jj concert is a love feast where she competes with her angels to tell how grateful she is and how much she loves us I have to say she is a most beautiful soul who since she could talk or sing that she wants to spread love and kindness throughout the world, she is as real as it gets as a person and an artist , such integrity, honesty, sincerity, tenderness , poise, calm, elegance , our beloved barefoot angel , girl with a thousand voices, who embodies the sunshine.💜👣😇
When an artist requests that people NOT record the performance, I would respectfully NOT record it! Plain and simple. But Angelina's so-called "fans" are not only more interested in having their own, personal recordings, they also literally BRAG about doing so, as if to say "to hell with HER request!" And yet they continue to refer to themselves as "fans" ("angels" in this case) as if THEY are the celebrities. SMH
@@lightbearer7552 I know they do. If my memory serves me, the "no recording" request was posted on one of her concert posters outside the venue, but the only poster I've been able to locate is the one Joseph Nannery posted on Angelina's Facebook page on September 11, 2024.
You can find lots of videos of Angelina from 7 yrs old until now. She is extremely talented; however, her family is very protective of her. If you do a deep dive on her you will not be disappointed. Her first love is jazz, but she has done practically every genre of music there is.
Angelina introduced me several years ago to UA-cam reaction world and I have never looked back and thanks to her I found Ren and friends. In the past 4 years I have listened to Angelina every day as she lifts me up and with over 200 videos to choose from it is even better. I would simple love if you did the Live version in the Club of Bad Valentine and then the " Jazzy " version on Toby Gadd's channel, both are just amazing. So very pleased you have found this Almighty talent.
Very different arrangements and feel to these two performances but both arranged by Angelina. You need to hear some of the songs she did with Ivan Mendez age 12. They would pick a song that looked interesting, run through it once or twice, then Grandma would record it. Raw, under rehearsed and stunning. Try "Stay" and note her frequent side glances to check the lyrics.
I love Angelina! So glad to see she's still singing. I remember her years and years ago with her Fly Me To The Moon video. Just unbelievable voice for such a young girl at the time. I loved your breakdown and mention of the damage talent like that can lead to.
Well, welcome to the AJ Rabbit Hole! You are going to be bombarded by her fans called Angels that will fill you in on this music prodigy with an old soul from Norway. She's basically been a star since she was 7 years old. First and foremost, she is a jazz singer but has the ability to sing any genre. She also does all of her own musical arrangements. Even though she has been compared by many to Amy Winehouse, her major influence is Billie Holiday. Other influences are Dinah Washington, Louis Armstrong, Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Etta James, Whitney Houston, and Adele to name a few. Her love of jazz came from her grandmother playing jazz music around her when she was young. In 2014, she entered at age 7 and won Norway's Got Talent at the age of 8. With her new found fame, she used it to appear on many shows from abroad and help raise millions for the less fortunate children around the world. At age 13, she was invited to participate on America's Got Talent: The Champions in 2020. She shocked the audience and the judges with her rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. She received a standing ovation from all and got the Golden Buzzer from judge Heidi Klum to go straight to the Finals. Her performance went viral and even the group Queen responded on Twitter by saying, "Wow, what a rendition!" For Queen to respond to someone covering one of their songs is quite a feat since they rarely react to anyone. She did not win, but her fan base grew and expanded her popularity. Now 18 years old, living in Los Angeles, and currently signed with Republic Records, whose clients include Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, The Weeknd, and Drake to name a few. Her family and Republic Records had agreed not to heavily promote her just yet so she can live as normal of a life as possible and finish her schooling. From what we know, she is finally done with school. She had a single that came out May 5th called Love Don't Let Me Go, a new EP called Old Enough that came out Friday, July 21st, 2023, a newly released video of her new song called Now I'm The Fool, and a new album of original music which will be coming out some time this year. Angelina released her new single, Our Time, and is fantastic! She returned back to Norway and performed at a number of sold out concerts in which fans from around the world came to see her. Many of the fans there said she sounded better live in person and was a once in a lifetime experience. On September 22, 2023, Angelina had her first U.S. concert that sold out in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. On December 11, 2023, she was asked to come back and perform at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert. She first performed at this prestigious event in 2014 when she was 8. On Feb.29th, 2024, she performed 2 shows on one night at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort and Casino. A film crew followed her and created a documentary of her called Angelina Jordan: 10 Years In The Making which premiered on her official UA-cam channel on March 29th, 2024. Currently, she is working with 3 time Grammy winner songwriter/producer Toby Gad creating new original music for her to sing. Gad has co-wrote and produced such big hits like All Of Me by John Legend, Big Girls Don't Cry by Fergie, If I Were A Boy by Beyonce, and Skyscraper by Demi Lovato and a number of others. Her fans call her The Barefoot Princess. She always performs with no shoes when she sings. Why? The reason is very special. When she was 6 years old, she was traveling with her family in Iran where she met a poor shoeless girl in the streets that was about her age. She made money by weighing people. After speaking with her for a few minutes, Angelina noticed the scars on the girl's feet and asked the girl what her dream is. The girl said she wanted to be a doctor but she couldn't because she had to make money for her family. Angelina did what came natural to her, she gave the little girl her shoes and told her to not give up on her dreams. The girl then asked Angelina what her dreams were, Angelina answered that she wanted to sing for the whole world, and the girl said she would pray for her success. Since then, Angelina has performed barefoot in honor of that little girl and to those who are less fortunate around the world. She keeps this promise to this day. One of the reasons why we love her so much!
Tim, thank you very much for your reaction and analysis, to my all time favorite singer storyteller, Angelina Jordan Astar. *Why Angelina always performs barefoot* At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina never learned the orphan's name but called her Princess. The orphan girl replied, "princesses live in castles, we live in ruins". Angelina titled her song about this story, "Princess of Ruins". Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East. PLEASE PURCHASE Angelina’s book from her merchandise store on her official website.
I absolutely love her and want to see her in person. This is just my opinion, please don't judge me for my observation as I'm not a professional, I fill she needs to keep the microphone closer to her mouth so we can hear every word she's singing. ❤❤
Great reaction. Just so you know, Angelina's observed range from all the available videos of performances she has done goes from a C3 up to a D7. I'm sure her voice was fatigued by the time she got to this performance. She has been classified by a number of vocal coaches as a contralto.
Is there something special about the vocal structures of a young singer who has this capacity? I’m curious what is talent, what is technique, and what could be anatomy, and what could be that mystery with all of them combined? Fascinating. Thanks for vid!
If you decide to learn more about Angelina, you will discover that she is not only gifted, but also a true genius. At 6 years old, you see her in the studio reading the lyrics and singing in English, which is not her first language. At 9 years old, she arranges and sings: "I Putt A Spell On You" written by Screamin' Jay Hawkins in 1956. One of the most incredible UA-cam videos ever seen. At 13, competing on AGT, she arranges "Bohemian Rhapsody" making it her own, over 100 million views. After the compliments, the remaining QUEEN grant her the copyright to her original version. Etc. A very long etcetera.
Welcome to the Angels. AJ is a once in a lifetime talent. Excellent reaction and analysis by a professional. Some of AJ folks may no agree but they are not professional musicians. Her fan base is extremely loyal. Betty
I was at her first of two shows that night. She sang 40 songs between both shows and I think this was the later show. Can you imagine singing that many songs with only about an hour brake between. She put on an amazing evening for us and even introduced a new song too.
It's 19 songs per show and a full 20 songs in rehearsal that afternoon making it 58 that day. This song was in the second concert and 12th in the line up for each show.
I was at the 2nd show at Westgate. I was concerned that her vocals would get tired. She did show signs of wear and tear. But it was a wonderful live performance.
Angelina had two back to back concerts and she still had several huge songs to cover she had already sang a sett list of very hard songs including covers of Adele so she could have been a little tired as she can normally sing extremely liw

🎶👣💫🌹 Great reaction!!! This Vegas performance was in the second show of the night.. I can't find the set list but it was probably about her 25th song for the day. (About 18 per show)
Someone mentioned that this was in the second show and I would be able to confirm if he had posted the original link in description. There were 19 songs per show and this song was the 12th song in the line up making it the 31st song but many do not realize that she would have done a full 20 song rehearsal in the afternoon making this performance the 51st song of the day.
At Las Vegas she performed two 2-hour shows with a session in-between with the musicians and made many changes before the second show! I don't know when this song was sung, maybe in both concerts. But, recording was not allowed - thank G-- that some folks ignored that proscription... So the audio was from cell phones - not ideal for capturing audio. Also, as soon as the drums appeared, there were holes in her audio since the AGC took over and reduced the gain. Certain videos from those performances were better at capturing her voice. A more recent concert, in Los Angeles, did allow recording. Also, I see that she was not familiar with that particular microphone. With her own Neumann TLM mike, she knows that she needs to move it away from her mouth when she belts. Here she did it and lost the needed gain. Angelina is comfortable with her low range, and it usually produces that resonant sound, as heard in her younger performance. Listen to " How Great Thou Art" - ua-cam.com/video/WLAEy1LIHrc/v-deo.html She has always spoken English with an American accent. Apparently, the teachers in her school in Norway conducted lessons in English. I hear that that is not unusual in Norway. Also, at very young ages, she and her family traveled/worked in the U.S. In the hundreds of songs I have heard her sing, I can only remember one sung in Norwegian (a Christmas song). She has lived in Los Angeles since she was 12-1/2, since there was little opportunity for growth in Norway. She has been signed to Republic Records since she was 14 (although that might be ending).
The first performance was professionally recorded; it revealed10 year old prodigy Angelina at her best channeling Nina Simone to a tee. The second was a cellphone recording so a lot of detail was missing. She seemed to be suffering from a little fatigue judging from how she was handling the mic. She had sung more than 30 songs before this was recorded so her losing some presence is understandable. Having said all that, I love when she improvises and jazzes it up so I really love the second performance. If you really want an example of her doing her new stuff and in this jazzy style here is the one you want to react to BAD VALENTINE (Piano Diaries) ua-cam.com/video/6Ln9Tajsuzk/v-deo.html
For anybody new to Angelina, who wants to get to know her quickly, I created this playlist with 12 songs from age 7 to 18 (plus a trailer for a documentary describing her career up to 2023): ua-cam.com/play/PLddfS789jBCrSUcMxwCiHeJi8A9zN5xt3.html 1. Gloomy Sunday, her 2013 audition to Norway's Got Talent, when she was 7, which was aired in 2014 and then immediatly went viral. 2. Fly Me to the Moon, live on The View, was her US debut later in 2014, and also went viral. It gathered more than 37 Million views on UA-cam, and many more on Facebook. 3. I Put a Spell On You, the song where Screamin' Jay Hawkins got his nickname from, has 11 Million Views so far. Her cover is closer to his original than most well known covers of it. She was 9 years old here. 4. Feeling Good, in a version sung on TV in 2016 while still being 10 years old, though she already started to perform the song in public about a year earlier. 5. A Million Years Ago, one of 13 Adele covers she did, as an impressive acoustic home studio recording. 6. Shield, from 2018, was the third original she relased that year at 12 years old. It is about the protection and support she gets from her family. 7. Bohemian Rhapsody, in her own stripped down arrangement on AGT the Champions Season 2, wowed everyone, including the group Queen themselves, who twittered "Wow, what a performance of Bohemian Rhapsody!" 8. Million Miles, which she wrote and produced together with Stargate, is about the loss of a close person (her grandfather), and was the first song she released 2020 with Republic Records. 9. 7th Heaven, her 2nd song with RR from 2021, is encouraging people to persue their dreams, like she did. 10. Suspicious Minds, done 2022, is an Elvis cover as unique as Bohemian Rhapsody was. 11. Love Don't Let Me Go, her third release with Republic Records, and the first new song on her EP "Old Enough" of total 6 new original songs. 12. Bad Valentine, her latest original, just released on Sept. 20th, as a live preview in a small venue. If you are more interested in her recent performances, here is a playlist containing releases and performances from her last 3 years, including all titels from "Old Enough", with the new performances always being added at the beginning of the list: ua-cam.com/play/PLddfS789jBCqMgW5xQeK97nibjJCeDme5.html She cites Billie Holiday as her biggest influence. And she covered more songs from Adele than by any other artist, followed by Amy Winehouse, Elvis, and Sam Smith.
Not to take away from her incredibly hard work, but It also helps when you’re born a child musical prodigy. Look at some of her earlier videos from a much earlier, relatively, age. Like 6, or even 1.5. She’s a naturally driven artist, not just a performer.
There is a video “Born to Sing” showing her singing into a mic at 18 months. She has not been professionally trained. She has been self directed all along. She had studio rehearsals when she was maybe five or six, even recording sessions. Her band called her “the Boss.” She gives the engineer notes before singing “Put a Spell on You.”
Great reaction. Two comments 1) your reference to that book on the method young geniuses use is the best explanation I have heard about how Angelina was able to become so unbelievably talented. 2) It's not just that Angelina at age 10 was an astonishing good jazz singer for her age. It's that she was already one of the best jazz singers in the world of any age. And what makes it even more amazing is that she was also top level at a number of other styles.
I thought the same about this being later in her performance..... Plus the younger recording was with professional equipment and this is just on a cel phone....
Good explanation - it was the only song she sang that night in Oslo at 10 years old, and song #31 in Vegas (out of 38). You are a vocal coach and that is a blessing because we can learn some technical/"mechanical" things about singing that were not explained so well before - although we have already heard some interesting things from other vocal coaches. On the other hand, you are a vocal coach and that is a problem because you have seen some young artists go down the wrong path, ignoring advice and warnings with sad results - and you are applying that to this particular artist without knowing her well enough. I'm not sure how one could express the term "prejudice" in a somewhat polite way... Keeping that in mind, I'm sure you now will be horrified when you hear her sing "I put a spell on you" at nine years old ;-) Another mistake first timers make is that they think this is her "style"/way of singing, when in fact she is more versatile than most adult singers. And she is not known for belting at all - when she was "young" she was criticized for mostly singing soulful ballads. Try some of them - "Summertime" with KORK (10yo), "Cry me a river" Proysenfestival version (11yo), "Stay" (12yo), "I'm A Fool To Want You" (11yo). And if you think she ruined her voice by singing for more than ten years as a kid/teen, listen to "Bad Valentine - Piano Diaries Edition" (18yo) ua-cam.com/video/6Ln9Tajsuzk/v-deo.html . By the way, I think that for such an age comparison Etta's "I'd rather go blind" would be more suitable - the Blue sofa version (12yo) and the one from the Alex Theater concert in Glendale (18yo). As for her nearly perfect English, don't be too surprised, she grew up bilingual and lived in LA almost as long as she lived in Oslo as a toddler.
Erik Gronwall is one of my favorite male singers of all time. Won Swedish Idol in 2009-ish, had a band called H.E.A.T, then sang for Skid Row for 2 years before going home to focus on healing from Leukemia. He has some incredible covers on his youtube. His version of I Will Always Love You is incredible... but the man can sing anything.
Really enjoyed your breakdown, Tim. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on some of her originals. BTW… you were correct about her lows in the adult Angelina. That performance was during her second concert of the night and undoubtedly her voice would have been fatigued. She still delivered amazingly. I’m subscribed for your AJ journey.
Angelina have the lowest tones you heard if you react to "a million years ago" Her winning performance in Norwegian idol "Summertimes" when she was 7 years old are mind boggling..
Hi Tim, it's great that you have found the best singer at the moment. She is also called the barefoot princess with 1000 voices. She has done around 200 covers as well as 15 songs that she wrote herself and 4 songs that were written for her. Most of them are better than the original. She has the ability to adapt her voice to any song or genre and to convey the emotions that the song needs. I hope you will do more with her and you will see that there is a huge fan base (Angels) of hers, as she is called, who will follow you. Greetings from Germany

I am really looking forward to following your journey with Angelina. There are so many spectacular songs from her younger years but I love how her voice has matured and is now so full and deep. She is also exploring her higher registers in recent songs. To better compare to a beautifully recorded live performance from recent times you should listen to her performance of Unchained Melody performed at the 2023 Nobel Peace Prize ceremony with the KORK orchestra. Also, her new original song Bad Valentine is fire.
Welcome to the Angelina Jordan rabbit hole!! This young lady burst on the scene at Norway’s Got Talent in 2013-14 at the age of seven and turned eight midway through the competition. She auditioned with Billie Holiday's "Gloomy Sunday" followed by an Acapella performance of Billie Holiday's "I'm a Fool to Want You". She was 7 years old for both performances. Her birthday is January 10th, so her next two performances she had turned 8 (barely). She performed Sony & Cher's "Bang, Bang" (made popular by Nancy Sinatra). She won the competition with her performance of George Gershwin's "Summertime". For these performances, please make sure you watch subtitled versions as they are in Norwegian and the judge's comments are very much worth reading!! She performs barefoot because a promise she made to a poor Iranian girl when she was six years old. She met this girl who was weighing people for money. After talking to this girl about their dreams, the girl dreamed of being a doctor and Angelina told her dream of wanting to sing for the world. Angelina, at six, took off her favorite pair of boots and gave them to the girl as she had no shoes at all. She promised the girl that she would perform barefoot as long as there were shoeless children in the world! Twelve years later she still performs barefoot in honor of that promise - there are a couple times she is not barefoot for reasons like venue wouldn’t allow it or she’s brought on stage for a song or two and it’s not her headlined performance, etc. At age nine she published a book about the experience “Between Two Hearts” and became the youngest published author in Norway. You will be inundated with comments and song suggestions from her fans who are her “Angels”. Her Angels are very passionate about her as many are father/mother to great-great-grandfather/grandmother age - and we all adore her as if she were one of our kids/grandkids. You really can’t go wrong with any song of hers you choose. She always puts her mark on covers while paying absolute respect to the original. She has done her own arrangements since at least age 9 when she did “I Put a Spell on You” at 9yrs 2mos old. For that performance she comes out with a candle picturing the original artist Screamin’ Jay Hawkins (worth checking out his performance on Merv Griffin where he’s dressed like a voodoo doctor performing it). Next you’ll see her little hand writing a note to the music director who reads it and smiles. It’s last minute changes to the piano. The whole band was calling her “Boss” out of respect as she was professional and knew exactly what she wanted to accomplish. You’ll get a great many requests for her songs and they are all great! I’m 58 years old and have never been captured by a voice like I have been by Angelina. I ‘found’ her in January of 2020 while watching young folks reacting to legends like The Righteous Brothers and this video thumbnail of a little (13 yo) girl sitting on a blue couch popped up and I decided to click it. This cover of “I’d Rather go Blind” absolutely blew my mind. Since that day I’ve barely listened to anyone else. I’ve listened to her for thousands of hours and watched hundreds of if not thousands of hours of reactions to her. I’m going to recommend some songs that most people don’t immediately recommend. You’ll get lots of Bohemian Rhapsody, Bad Valentine, Suspicious Minds, Unchained Melody, If I Were a Boy and many others - they are ALL fantastic! But I’m going to pop in some recommendations that aren’t as often requested but are brilliant as always with her. Chris Isaak’s Wicked Game - she slowed it down and made it even more emotional while playing the piano. Alan Walker - Sunday & Sing Me to Sleep Live. Alan Walker is a Norwegian DJ and music producer who asked Angelina to open his “Coming Home” concert. She was just ten years old and sick. They told her she didn’t need to perform, but being the professional she is, she insisted on performing anyway. So you will hear a couple voice cracks from her being sick but she still did a beautiful job! Rihanna - Stay - this is a cover she did in L.A. in a room in her house with guitar player Ivan Mendez. You can watch him get lost in her voice, there’s an interview with him on Alan Papier’s channel. Elvis - Can’t Help Falling in Love - Another performance from a room in a house in Norway. The guitar player here is Egil Claussen and Alan Papier has an interview with him as well. George Gershwin - Summertime (KORK) - KORK is a famous Norwegian Orchestra who has performed with Angelina several times. This a beautiful rendition of her Norway’s Got Talent winning cover song! Michael Jackson - Billie Jean (Jazzy Michael Jackson Cover) - I have never been a fan of MJ, sorry but it is what it is. That said, Angelina completely reimagined this song in her beautifully jazzy rendition. Beatles - Yesterday - filmed in the same location as Billie Jean. This is a fantastic re-imagining as well. Seoul Muse Festival she opened for Norah Jones at age 11. She sang “I Put a Spell on You” in front of 40,000 attendees. My understanding is that it was a last minute request as Norah was running late so Angelina is in ‘street clothes’. Her 7 song set at Muse is worth checking out as well - not sure if her set was performed earlier that day or another day of the festival. The big deal here, for me, is how unaffected an 11 year old is singing in front of a crowd that size! With a growing library of over 200 covers by over 80 legends like Adele, Billie Holiday, Whitney Houston, Elvis, Frank Sinatra, Amy Winehouse, Ella Fitzgerald, Dean Martin, John Legend, Beyoncé, Michael Jackson, The Beatles, Queen, Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, etc. As I’ve said, anything she sings is worth a listen! Angelina is currently collaborating with Toby Gad (co-writer “All of Me”, “If I were a Boy”, “Big Girls don’t Cry”, “Skyscraper”, among others) and Scott Hoying of Pentatonix to create new music!! Welcome to Angelina’s world! Like the Hotel California - You can check out, but you can never leave once she puts her spell on you!!
You've done it now. You have fallen into the vortex of Angelina Jordan who arguably brings the most confident, versatile, seemingly effortless, and fearless vocal artistry found today (whether measured across artists, genres, or decades). You may think this an exaggeration but listen to a few more of her many performances (170+ covers plus original songs - all on YT) and you will see! She has been performing at a high level all over the world since age 8 when she won Norway's Got Talent singing Billie Holiday, Nancy Sinatra, and Gershwin. It is the rare singer that can, as Angelina has done, go from Queen to "Screamin" Jay Hawkins to Adele to Elvis to Whitney Houston to Michael Jackson to Etta James to James Brown to Amy Winehouse to the Beatles (and many others in between) and do them all justice! If you want to hear music, listen to anyone. If you want to feel music, listen to Angelina. She will stagger you with her ability to find and bring forth the 'essence', the emotional message of nearly any song. You have far to go with Angelina. She is equally comfortable and equally able to impact us whether singing a cappella, accompanied only by a piano or guitar, in front of professional studio musicians or a 40-piece military band. With her immense vocal toolkit, arranging ability (yeah, that too, since about 8yo or so) and the work ethic to make what she does only 'seem' effortless, she will hopefully be touching hearts for a long time to come. Why God has performed the miracle of touching the world with one of such talent, musical IQ, commitment, and generosity as Angelina we can wonder but we must all marvel. Welcome aboard the AJ train! Please react to more of her impressive library.
Welcome to the Realm of the Barefoot Jazz Queen, Tim. Good insights you shared. Looking fwd to your upcoming progress into Angelina's 🐇 Hole. 😊 Talking about low voice... Go fetch HOW GREAT THOU ART from her. Being interested in your reaction there 😂 Love and Kindness
I dont know where you got the recording of the second performance, but it is from a mobile phone and you will have noticed as soon as the drums come in it has an effect on the recording ability of a mobile phone, there are some channels that have taken recordings from a lot of mobile phones and they have enhanced the audio & the video ie james thiel summa Engineer or BigAngieFan
I agree. I loved her 10 year old version of the song. The later one sounded too "contrived" if you know what I mean. If you want your socks blown off react to her 9 year old tribute to Screaming Jay Hawkins, I Put a Spell on You. Also all of her mind-blowing performances on Norway's Got Talent which she WON at age 7-8.
She is from a multicultural family. Her dad is a Swedish engineer. Once I read he was working in LA. Her maternal grandfather is Japanese. Listen to “Million Miles.” Her maternal grandmother is Mery Zamani, an internationally recognized visual artist and poet is Iranian. I think she has lived in those countries. She is well traveled and was singing in other countries as opposed to the American progress to stardom. Around age eight she sang for the Nobel Peace Price ceremony when Malala Yousafzai was a recipient. She also sang for Narges Mohammadi, an imprisoned Iranian who promotes women’s rights. I could go on and on but there is a lot of information about her life on UA-cam.
Just subscribed for your Angelina adventure! I haven’t missed a day in over 5 years watching and re-watching her performances. Counting YT, Tic Toc & all the others there are close to 300. If you want to her her low, check out her 12 year old How Great Tho Art
You're 5% correct Tim? The other 95% is she has God given talent ? You can't teach what she knew at a early age . When she was 8 I ranked her above Adele And whitney Houston . Now she is the G.O.A.T. IMO , They should teach her Bio in schools IMO. Kid's would be much better off having Angelina as a role model than Cardi B Or Miley or Brittany ? God Bless her Great reaction Tim.
Concernjng her lower regjster try "How Great Thou Art" from about 11 . It is in the same key as Elvis. Then try Unchained Melody from the Nobel Prize at age 17. Toward the end of the performance she hits a D3 and closes with a very clear G5. Another difference between the performances is the quality of the orchestras. For sure, I Put a Spell on You , at 9, it is the only time she sang that harshly but it surely gives you a look at her musical character. My top 10 Angelina songs is now about 50 so have fun and take time to just enjoy the music.
What is strange about HGTA is that AJ posted it but hurriedly withdrew it and I don’t think we ever found out why. Similarly with My Funny Valentine (16).
Saludos
In my 77 years of listening to the best the industry has to offer; I have never experienced anyone that even comes close to the ability that AJ possesses. There are over 150 videos of this genius on UA-cam that are a testament to this unrivaled talent.
WE'RE WAITING FOR ANGELINA'S GRAMMY SHE EARN IT AND DESERVES IT FACTS ❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
you have to do her cover of "I Put a Spell on You" when she was very young.
also, her original song, , Million Miles, makes me emotional every time I hear it.
The original was professionally produced. This came from a cell phone.
Yes that made a big difference
Then it starts chronologically beginning with Gloomy Sunday from Norway's Got Talent. ua-cam.com/play/PL2v8kgVeo4EbQD6l_WAVjOfItquzW7oEc.html&si=HrEm55lV164yKJqu

Why does Angelina sing barefoot?

Couldn't you have gone into some detail 😁

"Oslo" age 11
"Shield" age 12
"Million Miles" age 14 we know she wrote this one in the days after her maternal grandfather passed in 2019 when she was 13
"7th Heaven" age 15
"Love Don't Let Me Go" age 17
"Now I'm the Fool" age 17
"Fire and Rain" age 17
"It's All My Fault" age 17
"Good in Goodbyes" age 17
"Diamond" age 17
"Our Time" age 17
"Princess of Ruins" age 18 ..... debuted at her 2 shows in Las Vegas 2/29/24
"Bad Valentine" age 18 worked with Toby Gad
"Thank You" age 18 debuted at her Glendale concert 9/20/24
"What Am I to You" age 18 debuted at her Glendale concert
Should include songs for which she was the first to sing
"I'm Still Holding Out for You" age 10 .... considered one of her best vocal performances by many
"Song for A" age 12
"Above the Water" a EDM song released January 31, 2020
"We're the Best" sung with RedOne at the FIFA Awards February 27, 2023
Angelina wrote new lyrics for two famous songs by Amy Winehouse, "Back to Black" and "Rehab" since it was inappropriate for a preteen to sing the original lyrics. For "Back to Black" Angelina wrote the new lyrics in the 24 hours prior to the recording, then needed just two takes
Nobel performances were both laureate tributes associated with the event but not at the formal ‘ceremony’.
@@dojoswitzer That's correct.
@@EthanolFuelGuy No, she auditioned at 7, turned 8, then won. (Her birthdate and the show dates are known.)
I’m going to her Christmas concert. This is the first time I will see her live and I cannot wait. ❤
Quincy Jones called her the biggest discovery/talent since MJ.
I can guaranty she didn’t do Fado either, yet!
@@josecamacho3393 Death Metal?! 😂 ... Imagine her grunting thru I PUT A SPELL ON YOU 😅 I don't want it, but just imagine.
Angelina Jordan is a genius and prodigy. Best singer on the planet. I saw both shows in Vegas and got to meet with Angelina.
lucky you - i am waiting for a Autogramme on my copy of Mellom to hjerter.... in Norway 2022 i got no chance
The stage is her world at any age ❤🎉
I was there at her concert, this is the second of back to back concerts of at least 18 songs each
Angelina’s greatest influence and inspiration is her grandmother Mery Zamani, Mery introduced Angelina to the old classic songs and Jazz when Angelina was 1 1/2 years old, Angelina won Norways Got Talent at 8 years old, I agree you can learn to sing from a young age and improve over time, but Angelina is mainly self taught and was born to sing, she is a musical prodigy and Jazz and soul flows through her veins, you cannot teach Angelina’s phenomenal talent it’s ingrained in her soul!
Don't think you know her low register until you hear "How great thou art" Her low register is "Scary"
Also, she is self taught
I love her rendition of that.
She attended afterschool music classes in elementary school. She learned to play various instruments and singing classes.
@numbersvibrations and her vocal coach walked away so as to not interfere with what she was doing.
Ah, that’s what I suspected. Sounded like she was at the end of a night of singing.
What an amazing talent she is! 🙌🏼✨
Here are two links… a live version of Bad Valentine (produced by her co-writer Grammy winner Toby Gad) and the aforementioned spectacular “Jazz” version:

@@TimWelchVocalStudio Also, you still haven't heard her lowest of registers. That's why the latest was even lower than Nina's. Angelina has a crazy lower range, maybe not as developed as Nina's still she is 18 years old. I say she is even lower than Nina. Hint: Can Angelina get in the low register of Elvis?

Angelina wore black and then changed to white, so without looking at the set list this would be in the second half.
❤❤❤first saw Angelina at this age barefoot on America has talent. Still on my hit list ❤❤❤

Angelina IS music….your gonna love this very special young lady…oh her low notes are absolutely rich and beautiful
How nice to see she is still singing!! Thanks for breaking down how she was able to sing like that at such a young age. I felt the same thing. She sounded better in her young performance. I am going to have to go down the rabbit hole! Thanks so much for doing this. What a fun idea.

@@TimWelchVocalStudio I am also!
Totally agree. I like her younger music better. I still go back and listen to those songs often. Sometimes, I feel like she is trying too hard to be jazzy and soulful.
@@g10sinteresting, I think she’s doing more pop, which is more mainstream. The last version of bad Valentine was… the last version.
Really cannot compare a professional produced and recorded video (10 yr old) to a Cell phone recorded video/audio, does not work, never will no matter how much editing and "clean up" people do, a cell recording is just that, a phone, no matter how great the phone is.
Angelina even if you change your record label, believe in yourself, because you are at the top of your career. And no one can stop you. !!
I want to tell you only one thing about this artist.
More to come!
In Vegas she did two 90 minute evening shows, 60 minutes between. Who wouldn't be tired?
I was at. Eva’s. She actually performed 19 songs per set, 20 different songs all together as she replaced Moon River with My Funny Valentine in the 2nd set.
Also she would have done 20 songs that afternoon in full rehearsal.
Adele, A'Ha, Alan Walker, Amy Winehouse, Andy Williams, Aretha Franklin, Audrey Hepburn, Avicii , Bill Withers, Billie Holiday, Bing Crosby , Bobby Vinton, Cass Elliot, Charles Aznavour , Charlie Chaplin, Cher, Chris Isaac, Dean Martin, Dinah Washington , Dolly Parton , Doris Day , Duffy, Dusty Springfield , Ella Fitzgerald, Elton John, Elvis, Estelle, Ethel Merman , Etta James, Frank Sinatra, Frankie Valle, Fred Astaire, Freddie Mercury , Gene Autry , Gloria Gaynor , Halsey, Harry Belafonte , Jackson 5, James Brown, Jim Reeves , Jimmie Boyd , John Legend, Josh Groban , Judy Garland , Julie London , Lana Del Rey, Leslie Gore, Lionel Ritchie, Lou Rawls , Louis Armstrong, Mamas and the Papas, Maria Carey , Marshmello, Michael Buble, Michael Jackson, Miley Cyrus , Nancy Sinatra, Nancy Wilson , Nat King Cole , Nina Simone, November Ultra, Paloma Faith, Patsy Cline, Perry Como , Queen, Ray Charles, Rihanna , Roberta Flack, Robyn , Ruby & the Romantics, Sam Smith , Screamin' Jay Hawkins , Selena Gomez , Shirley Bassey, Sia , The Beatles , The Righteous Brothers, The Weekend, Tom Jones, Vaughan Monroe , Whitney Houston, Willie Nelson.
Corrected: 20 different songs in two sets of 19.
@@dojoswitzer I wasn't sure so I rounded it up💜
When an artist requests that people NOT record the performance, I would respectfully NOT record it! SMH
@@muchkneaded most of her audience always record her with their cell phones I have never heard that Angelina has asked them not too ?
@@lightbearer7552 I know they do. If my memory serves me, the "no recording" request was posted on one of her concert posters outside the venue, but the only poster I've been able to locate is the one Joseph Nannery posted on Angelina's Facebook page on September 11, 2024.
You need to listen to her cover of " Suspicious Minds" to hear her .
You can find lots of videos of Angelina from 7 yrs old until now. She is extremely talented; however, her family is very protective of her. If you do a deep dive on her you will not be disappointed. Her first love is jazz, but she has done practically every genre of music there is.
I think she has learned to look after her voice better now. She doesn't push the extremes like she did when she was younger.
She is simply amazing. Her class and grace is so refreshing
I agree, it’s probably way into the gig. Normally, her lower register is present and goosebumps evoking.
Tim, thank you very much for your reaction and analysis, to my all time favorite singer storyteller, Angelina Jordan Astar.
*Why Angelina always performs barefoot*
At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money.
Angelina's voice is addictive.
I've been listening Angelina every day for 4 years.

I enjoyed this analysis, looking forward to more mind blowing reaction in future .
The depth of her tone is anatomy. Her advanced coordination is from deep practicing for thousands of hours.

Fascinating reaction/exigesis ! And what you say about the genesis of a prodigy sounds very compelling

@ wow.... thanks for the info. That would further make his point.
Listen to " How Great Thou Art" - ua-cam.com/video/WLAEy1LIHrc/v-deo.html
She has always spoken English with an American accent.
Most of her old followers think at this time and age she was becoming world class and the amazing part is her voice just seams to keep improving
I really appreciate you and your breakdowns. Thank you for this 🫶✨🌬️
You rock. 👊🏼🔥
Such showmanship for such a young person, music at its best. So much professionalism from a beautiful human being. You go! Angelina. 😊❤😊❤
For anybody new to Angelina, who wants to get to know her quickly, I created this playlist with 12 songs from age 7 to 18 (plus a trailer for a documentary describing her career up to 2023): ua-cam.com/play/PLddfS789jBCrSUcMxwCiHeJi8A9zN5xt3.html
7. Bohemian Rhapsody, in her own stripped down arrangement on AGT the Champions Season 2, wowed everyone, including the group Queen themselves, who twittered "Wow, what a performance of Bohemian Rhapsody!"
If you are more interested in her recent performances, here is a playlist containing releases and performances from her last 3 years, including all titels from "Old Enough", with the new performances always being added at the beginning of the list: ua-cam.com/play/PLddfS789jBCqMgW5xQeK97nibjJCeDme5.html
She cites Billie Holiday as her biggest influence. And she covered more songs from Adele than by any other artist, followed by Amy Winehouse, Elvis, and Sam Smith.
Great reaction. Hope you do more Angelina. Can't get enough, thanks!👍
The sound on the video at the Las Vegas concert was not good, it was coming from a cell phone.
Not to take away from her incredibly hard work, but It also helps when you’re born a child musical prodigy. Look at some of her earlier videos from a much earlier, relatively, age. Like 6, or even 1.5. She’s a naturally driven artist, not just a performer.
Thanks for your analysis. Looking forward to hearing more AJ
She is sooo amazing! Her version of Bohemian rhapsody blew me away years ago 🤩
Enjoyed your reaction very much, will be following along as you explore this unique artist.
Great reaction. Two comments
1) your reference to that book on the method young geniuses use is the best explanation I have heard about how Angelina was able to become so unbelievably talented.
2) It's not just that Angelina at age 10 was an astonishing good jazz singer for her age. It's that she was already one of the best jazz singers in the world of any age. And what makes it even more amazing is that she was also top level at a number of other styles.
💛✨🙏🏼
I thought the same about this being later in her performance..... Plus the younger recording was with professional equipment and this is just on a cel phone....
I personally think AJ is a natural woman. She sang that too.
Two concerts in one night!
Keep in mind that the second video was recorded on a cell phone - I was at that concert and she sounded much better than on the video you reacted to.
Another one, which hasn't been released yet, is Princess of Ruins. It's a favorite of mine.
Two different quality recording‘s and she does 2 shows at that day
Good explanation - it was the only song she sang that night in Oslo at 10 years old, and song #31 in Vegas (out of 38).
Keeping that in mind, I'm sure you now will be horrified when you hear her sing "I put a spell on you" at nine years old ;-)
Another mistake first timers make is that they think this is her "style"/way of singing, when in fact she is more versatile than most adult singers.
Wait till you hear her voice ..,
Rendition of Whitney or Adele even Elvis ..,,
THATS HER VOICE❤❤❤❤
Angelina have the lowest tones you heard if you react to "a million years ago" Her winning performance in Norwegian idol "Summertimes" when she was 7 years old are mind boggling..
39 songs in La + a bad audio recording can be good as the shoot in tv show. nice to see you again !
👍👍
Well, you were close on age 5 as her starting point,,, it was actually 1-1/2 when her MAGICAL mind started...
👣🌬🌎

Talking about low voice... Go fetch HOW GREAT THOU ART from her. Being interested in your reaction there 😂
Love and Kindness
I dont know where you got the recording of the second performance, but it is from a mobile phone and you will have noticed as soon as the drums come in it has an effect on the recording ability of a mobile phone, there are some channels that have taken recordings from a lot of mobile phones and they have enhanced the audio & the video ie james thiel summa Engineer or BigAngieFan
Fantastic reaction, thank you!!! I prefer her 10yrs old version to the one this year at 18 !!
🥰
Saludos
