This is so exciting. I feel as though Mel C’s solo stuff is so underrated. She has so many songs that weren’t hits that should have been
Wasn’t she like, the biggest solo Spice Girl, besides Geri?
Here it Is the ubiquitous _"underrated"_comment on every You Tube comment thread
I'm glad that Mel still active and releasing music (and consistently good). She truly deserves to be considered a legend.
👏👏👏👏👏👏
black long hair really suits her and brings out her eyes
Some of the B-Sides during this era were better than the songs that made it to the album, namely "I Love Without Trying" (co-written with Rick Nowels) and "Living Without You" (co-written with Richard "Biff" Stannard). Thank you for this documentary! xx
And “Love to You” as well. Those 3 tracks actually are so strong, suprise those were disgard from the album
Let’s Love & Yeh yeh yeh are sensational songs. 💥✌🏻💥
It should have been the first single
What a magical voice when she sings Reason live! Amazing. One of her most robust albums, despite the negative or mixed critiques
Another fantastic documentary ! I do feel that Melanie is very understated as a solo artist. She is an amazing song writer.
Fantastic first of all I can't believe it's the 20th anniversary of this album the follow up to Northern star I love this album some excellent tracks on it can't wait to watch this 👍🏻🎧🎵
Reason's a great album but for me the Sea is Melanie's best. When you look at Melanie's solo work there is no doubt she produced a great body of work. Some of my favourite Melanie songs are "your mistake" "enemy" " next best superstar" "think about it" "home" "burn" "yeh yeh yeh" "if that were me" "let there be love" and many more. I love Melanie's pop rock vibe!
I think her point of view is that she's trying to in her mind that the next opening will be better than this one. Don't think it's because she actually believes that it's because she wants to think that to up herself each time
but it's a good quality album
Please a documentary on her album the sea
That will i see too❤
I’d love more of her albums documented in this style
I bought this album when I was 14 I loved and still love every track. This album inspired me to step up with my songwriting and guitar playing! Thank you Melanie! You’ve always inspired me ❤
Reason is an amazing album. Just recently I was in Japan and found the Japanese pressing with bonus tracks. It’s just a great album really under rated
This documentary is so amazing!! i wish you were doing one for every album of hers!! hehehehe congrats and thank u for such a nice work!!
Thank you 🙏
She performed brilliantly despite the injury. What a pro! This album has grown on me 🙌
Reason is my favourite album of hers for sure. I think the sea is her most accomplished work but reason still hits it every time for me
Melanie has such a great mind, it's a pleasure to listen to her speak, it's so soothing. She was in such good place in the Reason era, she was her true self, had done a lot of healing. She's always been a true artist, not just entertainer. Her solo carrer has been so complex and impressive 🙏🏻❤️
Just ordered her autobiography. Cannot wait to read her stories from this era
I've not read it. You'll have to let me know if it's any good.
Promise!
@@popunderratedI just finished listening in audioable it’s suchhhh a good book, very personal some chapters brought me to tears both tears of sadness and joy
Loved it. Thank you for putting this together and sharing it. ❤
I am loving these videos that go in depth to solo careers and album eras that maybe people didn’t get the chance to hear. Some of these particularly Rachel Stevens “Come and Get It” and this album are examples of underrated pop gems that deserve to be talked about and re-examined to a future audience who are missing out. Great job as always!!!
💜
thank you so much for making this.. not many people followed the spice girls solo careers closely... it was great to go back and remember all the little details i had forgotten about ❤
My fave album of hers
First off, congrats on your hard work as usual. The quality of this is unbelievable, you truly have put lots of work into this docu (and all of the others as well !). Then , even though I have a soft spot for this , I remember back in the day feeling quite puzzled when listening to the record. It was such a departure from NS… I guess even hardcore fans , as myself, were expecting something quite … different. Perhaps more upbeat , slightly “poppier”, and the Soul Boy , Loose Myself In You kind of knocked many of us up. She was done dirty by Virgin (they all did, after all), but I wonder how they let her get away with change of sound they’d never support . And it was clear from the beginning. Coming out of depression is tough, and maybe a lot of that process went through the creation of this album. She’d later pursue that rocky vibe with variable levels of success . I guess people , even fans , expected something quite different from her. Anyways, she’s an artist and deserves to be able to create anything she likes. I am all up for it , but you cannot expect to recreate the success of something like I turn to you with Melt. Anyways , This Time was even more confusing . I’m glad she’s going back to pop and dance now.
Thanks for watching
One of my favorite album of my childhood! Exited for this one!💖
This is sparking so many memories. Probably haven't listened to the album since 2003 or 2004. I think it's time I crack out the CD!
Melanie Legend Crisolm ;
The Sporty Spice 💪.
Such a raw , straight talking,
intriguing Interview with greater insights of Mel C's Life Journey. 👍❤
This is one of my favourite Mel C albums !! Such an interesting transitional era for her and it should have done much better than it did !!
17:57 - Please make a documentary about Edyta Gorniak. 🙏🏻 She's the greatest Polish voice, she made two international albums, her songs charted all over Europe. She deserves much bigger recognition 💖
Mel C..has my favourite female voice ever
On The Horizon is Mel C's biggest hit here in Brazil ❤🇧🇷
Great documentary as always. Looking forward to more!
Thanks
I cant wait, one week to have her in Mexico city again!!!
It's still a mystery to me how this album didn't succeed and she was eventually dropped by her label... To me, this was a very good album after Northern Star ... the songs are all very good, really good! I like this album much more her recent albums that I feel are so polished and worked and reworked.... It ahs all, the rock songs, the pop, soulful songs, very intimate ones! To me, REASON, is a solid follow up to Northern Star ...Beautiful Intention was good too... however all that's after beautiful intention, to me, is 50/50
What an amazing documentary. Please do another one for beautiful intentions.
I Love Melanie C 😍💜
Thanks for making this great video. It is so complete and interesting. I learned a lot from this era that wasn’t documented in France. Loved watching it
she said it , it was not her strongest album, it was a reflect of how she felt, it was a sad album though she tried to do the best
I like that she has an album for every taste. She's an authentic artist
love this chanel so much!! 🌺 goooood stuff
Thank you
@@popunderrated and thank you❣
Love this! Thank you so much for putting it together! ✌🏻
The album has grown on me over the years, but unfortunately I can't forget about the existence of Soul boy.😅
My favorite songs are Home, Melt, Yeh yeh yeh, Let's love and Here it comes again.
I feel that some of the b-sides, if not all, should have been on the album instead of some album tracks. I mean, seriously, Love to you, Like that (which sounds like The Strokes song), Living without you.. Brilliant songs. Thank you for the video.
By the way, Here it comes again didn't chart at number 2 in Belgium, it's a bubbling under chart 😢
What’s wrong with soul boy?
@@SarahMunoz-o5g I don't like it. Simple as that.
Soul Boy is just a cover
@@musicislife.2602 no I know but I still think it’s nice but I can understand why some don’t enjoy it
@@fanstastic83 that’s fair
Enjoyed this thoroughly thank you !
This is interesting! They’ve both had some good ups and downs. Her 2000 song was played everywhere on mtv in the USA. It was so good!
Holly Valance - Footprints next please! :)
Thank you! ❤
The Reason era was her best live vocals era. Loved it!
Amazing video! Thank you for your hard work!!!
One question : what is the name of the song thats sound during the minute. 5:00.
Thank you! ❤
Love To You
Love this album ❤
Yaaaaaaaaas 😍😍😍
Also I wonder what happened to the 40 songs. Were they given away to other artists, are they still on a shelf somewhere?
not finished, probably just raw demos or lyrics + chord progressions
cool!
Yeah Yeah Yeah
anastacia - anastacia album would make a great docu
One for watching in bed tonight 👍🏻🎧🎵
It's overall a good album but I think that her latest ones are just better
mama so good but cant beat enya who is the most successful artist with zero tour
I think she sadly used many of the best Reason era tracks as B sides.
Great album. Deserved to do better.
Her worst album and u can tell in this era she's not her self at all
Personally speaking, ‘Here It Comes Again’ is one of the most boring songs I’ve ever heard.
Try Cheeky Girls. They're less boring
It's quite a boring album tbh.
Glad you enjoyed the video
I love your videos… keep going
