Similarly, Crab Tank is less common than a lot of other specials. Regarding Cooler, there aren't enough (good) Cooler options given how mandatory it.
@@CreationsFlare that's just the problem of Neo Sploosh. Sploosh is a fundamentally weak and one-dimensional main, so it needs strong kits to function- at very least it needs a lethal bomb. Historically, every time it gets one it becomes pretty decent, but in 3 it didn't get one. On the other hand, there are guns like Custom Squelchies and stock Tent that can easily support non-bomb subs like Beakons, because their mains give them options already.

Goo Tuber is an objective wasted slot for both Fizzy and Torpedo, fizzy is on two short ranged aggressive AOE weapons, one of those being in the SAME CLASS as another fizzy weapon, and the other sharing a kit with Goo Tuber (which is in the same class as yet another fizzy weapon). Burst bomb is LUCKILY a lot better off than those two, mainly because it's hard carried by the new main weapons added with burst bomb, all three being good fits for it. Similar deal with crab, the most egregious thing about crab is that 3/6 of the crab weapons are in the same weapon class (and the 4th launch crab being in the one class most similar to that class), and individually to that 3/6 of the total weapons with crab have similar functionality (4 shot weapons with similar range and some degree of perfect accuracy). If you look by comparison at screen with only 5 weapons, 4/5 of them have distinct enough roles, and the only one without is just from overlap with another weapon being in the same class.
It’s not like it’s probably the best kit for like half of the weapons in the game yet neither that sub or special is on more than like 6 weapons (I might be wrong on that number too lazy to double check)
I do not want to live in a world where Torp crab is a real kit on any weapon if I'm honest, you could put it on Goo Tuber and I'd still get annoyed by it
I’ve tri stringer since launch and yes while I want buffs, an over buffed tri stringer that acts like a charger that can hit over cover would be one of the most toxic things this game has ever seen. That being said if Nintendo implemented the changes you suggested I’d be so happy and I think you did a good job with them
The Wellstring definitely tops my love for E-Liter by a WIDE margin. It is my actual favorite class, perfectly fits to my playstyle and really strong and fun with a flexible weapon. I love this thing to bits.
Bear in mind this was back before it got the AOE, so it was basically long reeflux. They reworked this thing heavily in development and I guess they saw the charge hold MAYBE not needed (even though it probably is)
It doesn't REALLY need one. I main stringers, and they are more mobile than chargers, but due to their nature of not requiring extreme precision, the charge hold isn't necessary as you are probably launching aoe shots.
A minor thing I want to change with wellstring is to give it a different, more distinguishable AOE bottle model (well, I think that's a bottle?). Helps when there are tri-stringers on the game at the same time. Also it would be cool.
honestly as a longtime reeflux main i think the biggest thing holding it back is actually its inconsistent feet paint. the fact that this thing paints your feet only half the time on taps and like only 75-80% of the time EVEN ON FULLY CHARGED SHOTS is absolutely ridiculous. hell, i'd give up a bit of its overall paint in exchange for feet paint. i've lost so many fights to my weapon just. deciding not to paint my feet. and i'd really love for it to just. do that
Tri-Stringer should NEVER be compared to a Charger. It’s the reason people are so reluctant to play the weapon and creates a big misunderstanding of how it should be played. When learning to play this weapon, even I was frustrated that it didn’t work like a Charger because it isn’t supposed to play like it at all. It’s a weapon that fluctuates between Midline(aggressive) and Backline(defensive). Playing in the Backline too much will make the weapon feel very team dependent and weak. It is important to move closer to Midline so that the enemy team has to run further away to escape your range, giving you plenty of time to finish your own kills as opposed to being in the Backline where enemies will always be at the edge of your range. It’s a very technical weapon that makes full use of it’s range(ex: Vertical/Horizontal Half/Full charges.) This allows it to have so much versatility. It can also potentially two shot enemies up close with tap shots, which is a pretty neat bonus. Also Tri-Stringer Mains are some of the most stubborn bastards. They’ll annoy you with bomb arrows at a distance and wont go down without a fight up close.
@mexicanhonoka people need to understand that there is a massive difference between a bad kit and a weak kit Dark tetras for example are a weak kit, but not a bad kit. Slider is actually a perfect match for tetras it's just weak
As a wiper main, the only thing I would change is the length of the horizontal slashes, because it makes maps with lots of sloped terrain almost impossible to fight on. (also we desperately need Ultra stamp buffs)
To be fair, using one weapon class on all maps isn't necessarily viable. I was only able to get far in the game upon realizing that and using a couple of different weapons.

6:51 splatana stamper already has issues comboing with itself, the problem being the switch online allowing the enemy to heal between the 70 and 35 slashes lowering these numbers would make the weapon even more difficult in solo situations it's already hella frustrating to hit a 95 with burst combo 😂 (great video tho props to the editor)
As someone who uses stringers on the daily I didn’t think about the dots being closer when fully charged, I think it’s a good buff that doesn’t overtune the weapon too much
I think Stringers are in such a weird spot where a lot of their kits have good synergy, but the individual parts (main, sub and special) are undertuned. The VStringer kit is so cool but the main and sub are the weak links despite the synergy

I've been maining Reeflux for a while now, and the change I would most like to see is for it to paint the user's feet more reliably. It doesn't even always paint your feet at a full charge. I would like for it to guarantee paint your feet at least after the first circle is charged. This would help a lot with the mobile playstyle that Nintendo seems to be going for with it.
i remember being tired of nzap, v shot and ttek so i picked up the reeflux because it looked cool and felt cool to use plus i wanted a fun weapon with tenta missles 1 year later im a proud reeflux main, its one shot is still the most satisfying in the game especially after they gave it the squiffer treatment, now i can just jump around with it wich completely changed its play style

As an X rank tri stringer main, I disagree pretty strongly with these suggested changes, and disagree with Charra's overall perspective on the weapon from what i've heard in multiple videos. Now take this with a grain of salt, Charra is obviously a much more experienced splatoon player than me haha. But still, I feel confident that his perspective on Tri Stringer is not optimal. I've heard Charra say that Tri Stringer is a worse sniper rifle. This indicates to me an incorrect idea of what the weapon is. Snipers are kill weapons that can sometimes support with paint output. Tri Stringer is not a worse version of that. It's an inversion of that. Tri Stringer is an excellent support weapon that can potentially get kills also. The VAST majority of the game with a Tri Stringer is spent shooting rapid half charge shorts to output paint, control the map, and help chase down targets. One shot attempts are rare, and are not the strength of the weapon. In this video, Charra is suggesting changes to the weapon, but those changes are based on a faulty foundation because of his perspective on the weapon, which I believe is the wrong way to look at the weapon.
I agree as a fellow tri stringer main. And it really bothered me when he was talking about one shots but barely jumped which makes one shotting with the stringer more consistent. But I will argue for stringers killing potential. I categorize the tri stringer as a sort of deadly support. Able to paint and help teammates but very capable at one shots. A lot of people really underestimate the tri stringers sniping capabilities in my opinion as it’s another powerful at the stringers disposal.
I would want to see a class wide change for stringers that lets them all charge in the air at regular speed. It makes squiffer and reflux so much more fun, and I feel that since bows have a second firing mode that you can only have access to in the air, it’s kinda nice to have that ability to charge it in the air before you shoot.
I know. It just feels so inconsistent, with splash wall just not that good with decav, and the bubble is good, but it’s missing the burst bomb of the stamper for combos. I tried using it in a few series, and it just feels way too clunky and slow.
@@unluckify1 oh no, I only really hate weapons once I know how to play them. While this thing might not be good in comp this weapon destroys soloq in really annoying ways. I have almost 200 wins on it now and the games I have been locked out is less than double digits. I'm only 2100-2300XP so I might not be getting strong enough opponents but very very rarely do the losses I get ever feel like I, the decav, was the problem. I speak from personal experience that it can sit back painting perfectly fine because then people are forced to move in and deal with it, the last thing people actually want to do because it can just dash around and quickturn to defend itself. I'm talking by the phrase "know your enemy" this weapon is fun with the most degenerative special spam builds and I don't think that's good for the game. It's too good at everything it tries to do but not all at the same time.
@@unluckify1 would say it's not entirely the same. Those are just backlines, this is a frontline that encourages not playing like a frontline while also not restricting it from doing so.

Thank you for making a video that focuses a lot on stringers. Highly agree with the well stringer buffs as well. Now if only they’d let stringers have a decent bomb(and yes I’m aware vanilla well has auto). Just imagine the havoc with a well stringer with suction bomb and ink storm!
and yet, whenever i get it in SR, i wish i *didn't* have it. and i'm an Inkline Tri-Stringer main! i'm fighting hordes of Salmonids, not other players. give me a weapon that can do the former job well. i fail to see how Tri-Stringer is useful in SR; care to explain?

@@l00per80 i see. I see it as not bad, but *definitely* not good. It can one-shot Steelheads, but it can't wipe out a horde of Chum. Salmon Run is the mode where i prefer Chargers over the Tri-Stringer, because they do what i want it to do, better.
The only change I want for tri stringer (as a tri stringer main) is just a 10 frame faster charge, basically making both charge rings 30 frames. This would give it the same charge time as splat charger, and it would keep the same charge on the first ring (which is 30 frames) so it wouldn't spam aoe, but it would be able to quickly thin out its spread giving it better fighting capabilities and the ability to challenge chargers and could help with that match up. Basically just making tri stringer faster which is the WHOLE POINT OF THE WEAPON IT NEEDS TO BE FAST
sorry but I hope they don't nerf stamper, it's really hard to learn as a weapon also keeping the damage can be helpful for a future kit (even if it doesn't need another kit but yeah, more playstyle options) also those combos are pretty unreliable anyways bc some ppl do run a sub of bomb defence up
The only change I would personally make to tri stringer is no penalty for charging in the air like squiffer and reflux. Since the weapon has to jump pretty frequently while charging to access it's vertical it just makes sense.
burst cooler on flux is honestly the perfect kit for it, i do feel like every bow needs a new kit if they want to be meta, i think either fizzy storm or splatbomb zooka for tri stringer would be good for it (we were supposed to have splatbomb zooka btw but clash took it)
I really don't want faster 2nd-charge time for the tri-stringer, tuning the distance of your shots is something that can easily become too much of a skill requirement. (and making the exploding arrows longer to reach would remove the only tool the weapon has against Ultra Stamp) Personally, I'd like a buff to the AoE at long range, for a long while i've wanted the total area covered by the explosions in total to be the same no matter how close to each other the arrows land.
3:52 Maybe the devs swapped the whiting frames with Wellstring and the decavitator by mistake. It would make sense since Nintendo isn't known for their "outstanding code".
I feel like well string need a slight reduction in object damage as well since it vaporizes anything with hp. Tenta Brella Shield is a two shot, Crab Tank is a two shot, even the Rainmaker Shield is a two shot, and you can also shoot once and throw a single Auto Bomb to do the same thing. Otherwise pretty good though!
I really like playing stringer! Easily my favourite weapon in the game, something about how difficult it is to do well with it makes it very rewarding. But that probably speaks to the fact that it could use some improvements 😅
Tri stringer needs a new kit, as a tri-stringer main this is my opinion on the perfect and very reasonable kit. (ps. sorry for the long post but I need to make my case) Tri-stringer with torpedo/fizzy and ink storm. (I prefer torp) The two current kits don’t have bombs for a sub and have aggressive specials (chumps allows you to be more aggressive) the only bombs on any stringer are auto and curling that are on reef and wellstring respectively. There is no ink storm weapon that has any kind of bomb as a sub. There are only 6 kits that have torp and only 7 that have fizzy, the 7th being the new bamboo. I have 4 stared both the inkline and order tri-stringers and have 5 stared the og. I can still probably count the number of times that I have thrown out my toxic mist and sprinklers, and in all honesty I only use my specials for inktank refills. THE TRI-STRINGER NEEDS A 3RD KIT and it needs to be something that’ll help it support and get kills. Behold: The **Insert cool name here** Tri-stringer with torpedo / ink storm. the torp is a long-range kind of bomb that has fair ink consumption and is amazing at location and chip damage. Ink storm would be perfect as a small support for your team and will help the stringer get kills a bit more reliably (also the weapon can support the ink storm by making the storm threatening and making players actually think about running through the storm). Also ink storm is not on a single kit with a bomb for a special and I think that is a very weird thing.
agreed; the regular Stringer needs a 3rd kit. and i LOVE the one you came up with. personally, i prefer Fizzy Bomb. some paint, plus close range defense, if you notice the enemy in time (i sometimes check the map). Ink Storm will, as Captain Astronaut said, help you become Emperor Chip. now, i love the Inkline (i 5-starred both it and Vanilla). its kit helps it paint, which i struggled with when i mained the Vanilla kit; and unlike the Vanilla kit, i remembered to use the damn sub-weapon! i use Sprinkler a lot for painting, be it charging the special, and area control, as in ways out for me should i need to move, or to paint an area on the enemy side of the map. as for Super Chump, got several kills throughout my usage of the weapon (through luck, of course), AND it helps me paint the enemy side. since the weapon itself is just the Vanilla Tri-Stringer with a paintjob, why not give a more paint-oriented kit a whirl? lo and behold, it's my main weapon :) but that said, i do wish i could be a little more combat-oriented, given the paint buff. and your idea for a 3rd kit is just... *chef's kiss* i'd still prefer Fizzy Bomb, but still.
Stringer dosen't need a rework but it needs a buff. Keep the accuracy as it is but increasse the splash radius a sizeable amount (35 Radius of a Burst Bomb), This will enable half charges to deal 60 Damage closer to the center arrow and makes 70 Direct + Explosion combo more reliable. The main drawback of Stringer is that it dosen't snipe moving targets, You have to set targets up with half charges which is difficult with their current radius.
I feel a good way to buff tristringer (and maybe wellstring) would be to make the arrows detonate early when an enemy touches it while they’re stuck on the ground.

I think Reeflux needs one more buff that would just be such a fun change. Currently Reeflux can't jump at full height while charging, even though it can charge full speed in the air, so I think removing it's jump penalty would give it a bit more mobility and make the weapon more fun. Also yes Undercover got this change a few patches ago.
I feel that the main things that keep old Stringers out of meta are not their inherent qualities, they are both really strong, but rather what they are going up against. Snipewriter and Squeezer are the best weapons in the game, and they take the niches of Tri-Stringer and Reeflux respectively. Why bother with a finnicky technical weapon with fitting but unspectacular kits when the meta alternative is more straightforward, easier to pick up and has top grade specials to double down on the power?
@ProChara the decavs should be able cancel its dash slash with its special but they should get both 210p for their special as bubbler can create clam cheese and inkjet as well somewhat and the reason I think the decavs should be able to cancel the dash for more mix ups because shooters can shoot decav before it can finish it dash slash and its dash slash should go faster forward so shooters have to put more effort into killing decav before it trades with the shooter or kiils them
Weird that it wasn’t mentioned, but you are able to parry the one-shots of every stringer. I don’t know if this is a bug or if the multiple hitboxes are to blame, but it does increase the difficulty of this already difficult weapon to play
i've played bow almost exclusively for the past few months and here's the changes that i suggest instead: -more projectile speed increase per charge level -make the shots start closer together by 20% -decrease aoe size by 40% - 5 more damage on charged projectile and explosion (allows for explosions to kill without an additional tap shot as well as 80 dmg with only two directs) -less endlag on tap shots
for decav, i think there needs to be some adjustment for how the Left Stick triggers a lunge, because it feels very inconsistent. like make the area in the stick position that would trigger a lunge wider.

As a wiper main, the only thing I would change is the length of the horizontal slashes, because it makes maps with lots of sloped terrain almost impossible to fight on. (also we desperately need Ultra stamp buffs)
To be fair, using one weapon class on all maps isn't necessarily viable. I was only able to get far in the game upon realizing that and using a couple of different weapons.
@@plaidhatter1674 Too bad wiper is like the only weapon I can reliably win with, ive gotten all the way to x rank top 100 with it. I just don't really click with any other weapon as much as I do with wiper.

6:51 splatana stamper already has issues comboing with itself, the problem being the switch online allowing the enemy to heal between the 70 and 35 slashes lowering these numbers would make the weapon even more difficult in solo situations it's already hella frustrating to hit a 95 with burst combo 😂 (great video tho props to the editor)

As someone who uses stringers on the daily I didn’t think about the dots being closer when fully charged, I think it’s a good buff that doesn’t overtune the weapon too much
I think Stringers are in such a weird spot where a lot of their kits have good synergy, but the individual parts (main, sub and special) are undertuned. The VStringer kit is so cool but the main and sub are the weak links despite the synergy

I've been maining Reeflux for a while now, and the change I would most like to see is for it to paint the user's feet more reliably. It doesn't even always paint your feet at a full charge. I would like for it to guarantee paint your feet at least after the first circle is charged. This would help a lot with the mobile playstyle that Nintendo seems to be going for with it.

1 year later im a proud reeflux main, its one shot is still the most satisfying in the game
especially after they gave it the squiffer treatment, now i can just jump around with it wich completely changed its play style

I'm really glad you decided to tone back Decavs hitbox in compensation for a speed buff. I was about to call a hitman if you didn't do that exact nerf Chara.
As an X rank tri stringer main, I disagree pretty strongly with these suggested changes, and disagree with Charra's overall perspective on the weapon from what i've heard in multiple videos. Now take this with a grain of salt, Charra is obviously a much more experienced splatoon player than me haha. But still, I feel confident that his perspective on Tri Stringer is not optimal.
I've heard Charra say that Tri Stringer is a worse sniper rifle. This indicates to me an incorrect idea of what the weapon is. Snipers are kill weapons that can sometimes support with paint output. Tri Stringer is not a worse version of that. It's an inversion of that. Tri Stringer is an excellent support weapon that can potentially get kills also.
The VAST majority of the game with a Tri Stringer is spent shooting rapid half charge shorts to output paint, control the map, and help chase down targets. One shot attempts are rare, and are not the strength of the weapon.
In this video, Charra is suggesting changes to the weapon, but those changes are based on a faulty foundation because of his perspective on the weapon, which I believe is the wrong way to look at the weapon.
I agree as a fellow tri stringer main. And it really bothered me when he was talking about one shots but barely jumped which makes one shotting with the stringer more consistent.
But I will argue for stringers killing potential. I categorize the tri stringer as a sort of deadly support. Able to paint and help teammates but very capable at one shots. A lot of people really underestimate the tri stringers sniping capabilities in my opinion as it’s another powerful at the stringers disposal.

I would want to see a class wide change for stringers that lets them all charge in the air at regular speed. It makes squiffer and reflux so much more fun, and I feel that since bows have a second firing mode that you can only have access to in the air, it’s kinda nice to have that ability to charge it in the air before you shoot.

I know. It just feels so inconsistent, with splash wall just not that good with decav, and the bubble is good, but it’s missing the burst bomb of the stamper for combos. I tried using it in a few series, and it just feels way too clunky and slow.
Charcoal is still a stupidly good special spammer with a 1 shot. It's not designed well anyway so even being where it is is a little much.
@@unluckify1 oh no, I only really hate weapons once I know how to play them. While this thing might not be good in comp this weapon destroys soloq in really annoying ways. I have almost 200 wins on it now and the games I have been locked out is less than double digits. I'm only 2100-2300XP so I might not be getting strong enough opponents but very very rarely do the losses I get ever feel like I, the decav, was the problem. I speak from personal experience that it can sit back painting perfectly fine because then people are forced to move in and deal with it, the last thing people actually want to do because it can just dash around and quickturn to defend itself.
I'm talking by the phrase "know your enemy" this weapon is fun with the most degenerative special spam builds and I don't think that's good for the game. It's too good at everything it tries to do but not all at the same time.
@@unluckify1 would say it's not entirely the same. Those are just backlines, this is a frontline that encourages not playing like a frontline while also not restricting it from doing so.

I see it as not bad, but *definitely* not good. It can one-shot Steelheads, but it can't wipe out a horde of Chum.
Salmon Run is the mode where i prefer Chargers over the Tri-Stringer, because they do what i want it to do, better.

The only change I want for tri stringer (as a tri stringer main) is just a 10 frame faster charge, basically making both charge rings 30 frames. This would give it the same charge time as splat charger, and it would keep the same charge on the first ring (which is 30 frames) so it wouldn't spam aoe, but it would be able to quickly thin out its spread giving it better fighting capabilities and the ability to challenge chargers and could help with that match up. Basically just making tri stringer faster which is the WHOLE POINT OF THE WEAPON IT NEEDS TO BE FAST

The only change I would personally make to tri stringer is no penalty for charging in the air like squiffer and reflux. Since the weapon has to jump pretty frequently while charging to access it's vertical it just makes sense.
burst cooler on flux is honestly the perfect kit for it, i do feel like every bow needs a new kit if they want to be meta, i think either fizzy storm or splatbomb zooka for tri stringer would be good for it (we were supposed to have splatbomb zooka btw but clash took it)

i do like the changes you proposed for the regular Stringers, but i still want a 3rd kit.
I really don't want faster 2nd-charge time for the tri-stringer, tuning the distance of your shots is something that can easily become too much of a skill requirement. (and making the exploding arrows longer to reach would remove the only tool the weapon has against Ultra Stamp)
Personally, I'd like a buff to the AoE at long range, for a long while i've wanted the total area covered by the explosions in total to be the same no matter how close to each other the arrows land.

I feel like well string need a slight reduction in object damage as well since it vaporizes anything with hp. Tenta Brella Shield is a two shot, Crab Tank is a two shot, even the Rainmaker Shield is a two shot, and you can also shoot once and throw a single Auto Bomb to do the same thing. Otherwise pretty good though!
I really like playing stringer! Easily my favourite weapon in the game, something about how difficult it is to do well with it makes it very rewarding. But that probably speaks to the fact that it could use some improvements 😅

Tri stringer needs a new kit, as a tri-stringer main this is my opinion on the perfect and very reasonable kit. (ps. sorry for the long post but I need to make my case)
Tri-stringer with torpedo/fizzy and ink storm. (I prefer torp)
The two current kits don’t have bombs for a sub and have aggressive specials (chumps allows you to be more aggressive) the only bombs on any stringer are auto and curling that are on reef and wellstring respectively.
There is no ink storm weapon that has any kind of bomb as a sub. There are only 6 kits that have torp and only 7 that have fizzy, the 7th being the new bamboo.
I have 4 stared both the inkline and order tri-stringers and have 5 stared the og. I can still probably count the number of times that I have thrown out my toxic mist and sprinklers, and in all honesty I only use my specials for inktank refills. THE TRI-STRINGER NEEDS A 3RD KIT and it needs to be something that’ll help it support and get kills.

the torp is a long-range kind of bomb that has fair ink consumption and is amazing at location and chip damage. Ink storm would be perfect as a small support for your team and will help the stringer get kills a bit more reliably (also the weapon can support the ink storm by making the storm threatening and making players actually think about running through the storm). Also ink storm is not on a single kit with a bomb for a special and I think that is a very weird thing.
agreed; the regular Stringer needs a 3rd kit. and i LOVE the one you came up with.
personally, i prefer Fizzy Bomb. some paint, plus close range defense, if you notice the enemy in time (i sometimes check the map).
Ink Storm will, as Captain Astronaut said, help you become Emperor Chip.
now, i love the Inkline (i 5-starred both it and Vanilla). its kit helps it paint, which i struggled with when i mained the Vanilla kit; and unlike the Vanilla kit, i remembered to use the damn sub-weapon!
i use Sprinkler a lot for painting, be it charging the special, and area control, as in ways out for me should i need to move, or to paint an area on the enemy side of the map.
as for Super Chump, got several kills throughout my usage of the weapon (through luck, of course), AND it helps me paint the enemy side.
since the weapon itself is just the Vanilla Tri-Stringer with a paintjob, why not give a more paint-oriented kit a whirl? lo and behold, it's my main weapon :)
but that said, i do wish i could be a little more combat-oriented, given the paint buff.
and your idea for a 3rd kit is just... *chef's kiss* i'd still prefer Fizzy Bomb, but still.

Stringer dosen't need a rework but it needs a buff.
Keep the accuracy as it is but increasse the splash radius a sizeable amount (35 Radius of a Burst Bomb), This will enable half charges to deal 60 Damage closer to the center arrow and makes 70 Direct + Explosion combo more reliable.
The main drawback of Stringer is that it dosen't snipe moving targets, You have to set targets up with half charges which is difficult with their current radius.

I feel a good way to buff tristringer (and maybe wellstring) would be to make the arrows detonate early when an enemy touches it while they’re stuck on the ground.
i enjoy the use of Soulsborne soundtracks in the vids!! im a huge Dark Souls and Elden Ring nerd so when i heard them i was like "IN A SPLATOON VIDEO?!?!? NO WAYY"

I think Reeflux needs one more buff that would just be such a fun change. Currently Reeflux can't jump at full height while charging, even though it can charge full speed in the air, so I think removing it's jump penalty would give it a bit more mobility and make the weapon more fun. Also yes Undercover got this change a few patches ago.
I feel that the main things that keep old Stringers out of meta are not their inherent qualities, they are both really strong, but rather what they are going up against. Snipewriter and Squeezer are the best weapons in the game, and they take the niches of Tri-Stringer and Reeflux respectively. Why bother with a finnicky technical weapon with fitting but unspectacular kits when the meta alternative is more straightforward, easier to pick up and has top grade specials to double down on the power?
@ProChara the decavs should be able cancel its dash slash with its special but they should get both 210p for their special as bubbler can create clam cheese and inkjet as well somewhat and the reason I think the decavs should be able to cancel the dash for more mix ups because shooters can shoot decav before it can finish it dash slash and its dash slash should go faster forward so shooters have to put more effort into killing decav before it trades with the shooter or kiils them

Weird that it wasn’t mentioned, but you are able to parry the one-shots of every stringer. I don’t know if this is a bug or if the multiple hitboxes are to blame, but it does increase the difficulty of this already difficult weapon to play
i've played bow almost exclusively for the past few months and here's the changes that i suggest instead:
-more projectile speed increase per charge level
-make the shots start closer together by 20%
-decrease aoe size by 40%
- 5 more damage on charged projectile and explosion (allows for explosions to kill without an additional tap shot as well as 80 dmg with only two directs)
-less endlag on tap shots
for decav, i think there needs to be some adjustment for how the Left Stick triggers a lunge, because it feels very inconsistent. like make the area in the stick position that would trigger a lunge wider.
