We do get a good glimpse at the way Robyn manipulates the family … saying one thing to their face and the complete opposite in her interviews!
Also, did you notice the scene when Kody recounted to his friend that Robyn basically told him to “shut up” and do the right thing?

I can't decide whether this was Robyn's most blatantly manipulative moment. It's a tie between this and when she sat her kids down and basically told them the rest of the family wasn't coming to Thanksgiving because they didn't care enough about them to follow Kody's Kovid rules. And somehow she has Kody convinced that she is good at relationships!

I definitely think he's lost energy. He didn't think 30 years later that he would still need to meet the demands of almost 25 people and that they would hold him accountable. It was also probably easier for him before because the wives were younger and more accommodating. Now they know who they are and they're holding his feet to the fire.
That’s a great point … even if it felt possible when it all got started, there’s no way to maintain that level of energy for 25+ years. I guess this why they keep needing younger wives, so that someone has the energy to keep going 😭
Robyn keeps saying she wants the sister wife relationship. Yet I only see her having a Kody relationship. There is nothing sisterly about her actions. From the beginning her actions divided them. She kissed him before marriage. Which was a no-no in their beliefs. Then had Kody help her pick out her wedding dress. The others say he showed no interest in what they wore. Went on a 2 week honeymoon. The others said they didn’t get that. Then she got Meri to divorce him so she could be the legal wife (for adoption reasons 🙄) And now she has him all to herself. I think the only reason she is bitter that Christine left is because she doesn’t want to lose that part of the tv income. She needs that extra money for her VS panties and to pay for her nanny. 😒
Absolutely!! In hindsight, I see that she’s been divisive from the very beginning! Christine tried to drop clues and I’m glad that finally she got tired of waiting for things to change. Also, that’s so funny how Robyn always gets associated with VS 😂

I don't understand why Meri is staying. Kody does not want her. Her child is grown and gone. There is no reason to stay somewhere just to be tolerated. I do like your analogies! The only problem with Robyn telling Meri that her happiness matters, is that Meri's happiness does matter to Robyn or to Kody for that matter. If Kody doesn't care about their love he definitely doesn't care about their happiness.

I think it’s odd Robyn knew Christine was thinking of leaving while in Vegas. Was she the one to rumor tell Kody? Was it real or just to get him not to trust her and feel betrayed and come over less? Did she do that to Meri, he ignored her long before catfishing? Christine and Robyn not beasties. She was the least close to Robyn of all. Robyn grew up more closes compound than the rest. Her manipulation skills off the charts. Just too many people. Survival of the fittest. Christine would have confided in Meri before Robyn. We see all of them manipulate Meri is to coming to AZ. All worried about the B&B in Utah was she moving there. And Kody thinks he is entitled to 50% and the rest share the other 50%? This is why polygamy illegal. Can’t AZ lock him up? Kody wanted to turn Truely. He authorized Ari finding out ahead of and at a outdoor party for Ysabel Truely could have found out and been hurt and feel betrayed and he wanted that feeling to be against Christine. When he overhears rumors he feels so betrayed he stops being intimate and going over to the house. Robyn was smiling while Meri is upset and crying. Creepy.

I think your analogies are kind of brilliant! I am writing this January 15, 2023. Post Paedon interview. Kind of hard to figure out what Robyn is up to now that we know more about Meri. Am seriously considering making a break with tlc. SW's is just too dark. Also the Happily Ever Tell All is just too much. Both shows demonstrate how money just taints relationships, but don't have much positive to offer. But you are so positive! Would be interested in hearing more about your everyday life if you ever feel like sharing. Stuff like managing betimes, picky eaters, kids who procrastinate, don't pick up after themselves. You know, everday stuff.

Do you ever look at her Instagram? She hasn’t posted anything in a long time, but the comments are open and they’re ALL terrible! I once saw her do an IG live on Meri’s page and she said something like, “I know you’ll get a lot of hate comments since I’m on here.” So, she knows the public is against her, but she just keeps moving forward 🥴

This woman is the ultimate snake. She just had to join a family at a moment when one wife was heavily pregnant. Kody could have waited. He should have moved into a camper when pandemic hit. It’s good that Christine is leaving to find her happiness. Most of the others weren’t supportive of her decision. Even Janelle, her closest ally, was a little surprised about her leaving, which I can’t believe.

He tells Meri that she has to court him. I’m not sure what episode this was but they were out on a 30th wedding anniversary or some thing. Regular mainstream LDS individuals, so members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints....believe in the same Celestial kingdom....very similar almost identical paradigms actually. Mainstream Mormons just don't believe in polygamy...they believe in sealing in the temple but marriages can only be a living man and woman in the mainstream paradigm....Janelle grew up as a mainstream Mormon so she is completely aware of this. So did Kody, he even served an LDS mission!
Christine, Meri and Robyn all grew up in the offshoot from the LDS which is the AUB.
So I don't think that the promise of the Celestial kingdom is top on Janelle's list since she knows she could just be a regular Latter Day Saint and achieve that after death....I hope thus makes sense...

As someone who is a "regular, mainstream Mormon" (Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints), and as someone who has distant relatives that are FLDS/RLDS (Fundamentalist/Reorganized LDS), I have a few insights. Think of it a bit like the difference between Lutheranism and Catholicism, or Baptists and Southern Baptists, or Amish vs Mennonite. The foundation is essentially the same, but we are also very different. The mainstream church abandoned any idea of practicing polygamy in the late 1800's, but there were (and still are) those who believe that living a polygamous lifestyle is something they are called to by God. So really, there is no logical reason (as far as I can tell) why someone would choose to live in a plural marriage, or as a member of an "offshoot" of the mainstream church. However, I do believe that everyone has a right to live and worship how they please. I suppose it makes about as much sense as why Mennonites can drive vehicles, but the Amish can't. Or why some Baptists decide that dancing is ok while others do not. Or why some Muslims wear a Hijab while others wear a Burqa. Or why men and women can sit together in a Reformed Jewish Synagogue, but not in an Orthodox Synagogue. Etc Etc Etc. 😅
