So I listened to this song a year or so back, when I was well before reading Memory of Light. I thought to myself "Well I guess I'm spoiled that Lan dies now but that's okay this song is sick", and just sorta kept listening to it. I come back now after finishing the series, and actually read the lyrics, and what do I find? I not only find that the thing I was spoiled on was in fact not true, because Lan lived (which led to perhaps one of the best experiences I've ever had reading a story, I genuinely freaked out more than I ever have with anything else, I screamed so loud I wouldn't be surprised if my neighbor thought I was dying, and it's solely because I had prepared myself for at least a year for that scene), AND learned that, after reading the lyrics, the song actually DID say that Lan lived, I just never understood those lyrics. I can't express how absolutely ecstatic I was when I read "That man. That man still fights."
@@eonsenthroned It was really awesome. It was also overshadowed by the immediate aftermath of him standing right back up, at least to me. But the whole thing was awesome

I have returned a year later to tell you that this is one of my favorite songs ever. Perhaps not as good as veins of gold but still amazing.

"I didn't come here to win. I came here to kill you." still sticks with me as one of the greatest lines ever written.

took me a bit to realize it was a WoT song but well done
I was listening to the song but apparently not listening because near the end I was like "ha that line is in WoT".
One of two Wheel of Time songs on the album. Check out Veins of Gold next if you haven't already.
