- Getting Creative with VCarve Pro.
This is part 1 of 2.
I've got some spare time before Christmas celebrations begin so I've decided to have some fun with my CNC and with V Carve Pro in particular.
I've wanted to try making some of these catch all trays for a while, so I figure I'll give these a try first.
This video is not meant to be a tutorial however I have narrated the steps I've taken in V Carve Pro so you can follow along if you want to make them as well.
I'll be using approaches that I know / think will work, I'm sure there are better ways but I've not found them as yet.
Tools / approaches / techniques used.
Importing graphics.
Converting to Vectors.
Node Editing.
Combing shapes, rectangles / squares / ellipses.
Tool Paths.

Profile Tool path

Unlike Lizardhead, I enjoy watching people learn and use new tools. I also respect those that continue to evolve their tradecraft in new directions. Keep at it and show us more innovation.
Thanks Dan. 👍
Love it! The learning curve on the cnc is definitely large! You are way ahead of me!
Thanks Lucy 👍
I'm with Dan on this on. Lizardhead seems to have got of bed on the grumpy side this Xmas. GT has a huge investment in large woodworking machines ( hardly "hand-tool only" then?) in his large workshop, so adding a cnc machine is just a drop in the ocean.....and incidentally a useful tool if only used to make templates to be used on the other machines. Can't understand why some people take umbrage if a single creator posts something not exactly to taste. No time spent watching something new is time wasted - even if it only confirms, for example that cnc is not for them.... takes all sorts.. carry on GT I say...always find your thoughtful voice over on projects informative... 😀👍
The VCarve design portion of your videos is pretty awesome. I learned a few tricks! Thank you.
Very useful videos. Where in the UK do you buy your stock material?
All over, best to shop around to find better pricing, and avoid the 'Craft Selections' way over priced. Buy it by the Cubic Foot or metre.
Turned out very nice. Would love a CNC (are you listening Santa) Merry christmas Graham
When you are a really good boy.........
@@GTWoodshop no chance then
Hi. Which CNC are you using and have you done a video on it rather than the software?
so if you intend on becoming a machine operator instead of a woodworker, tell me now so I don't have to waste anther minute .
Hi Lizard head, not at all, as mentioned at the beginning of the vid, just having a play with it. There is a part 2 about to drop so you might want to avoid that. 👍
