Glad he fought back and saved his dogs. Hate hearing the stories where people just watch their animal die. I'd go down swinging for my little guy no questions asked.
I can understand why people might do that though. If a whole pack of coyotes were to attack you and your pet, it would be a terrifying experience, and many people would freeze up or run away purely on instinct. Considering that humans are not only larger and farther away from the ground, they can also climb, making harder targets to kill than a pet would be. The coyotes would more than likely just go after the pet, and there's not much most owners could do, or even would have the wherewithal to think of in the first place.
Elanor The Fair I would like to imagine that catching whatever coyotes on my dog from behind with a rear naked choke and crushing their wind pipe would do the trick
What’s really scary is that the coyotes are normally terrified of humans. The fact that they attacked this mans dogs right infront of him is truly the scary part. That means they’re not afraid of humans anymore so keep your kids close and watch out for your elderly neighbors
They are not afraid of humans because they have learned that humans are harmless. Well, at least in Canada. I bet Canadian men just love being thought of as harmless. Emasculated by your own government!!!
Glad for happy ending but I noticed the harness, why does a human , usually just over 100 pounds, take a harness which was created for animals to pull many times their weight in buggies, sleds etc, put them on an animal not yet trained to walk nicely by their side , “especially” a dog bred to pull who lives and loves to pull, and never realize that if that dog ever decides to go, that person will not be able to do a thing about it. I’ve seen a tiny, less than 100 pound, girl trying to walk her two huskies on harnesses. Then a squirrel happened. So grateful a car wasn’t racing down my street at that very moment. I think it's just the Eastern coyote subspecies. This was in Nova Scotia. These findings support the hypothesis of sexual interaction based on body size, with the larger species male almost always crossing with the smaller species female." There are 19 subspecies recognized currently. "The eastern subspecies (C. l. thamnosand C. l. frustor) are large, dark-colored animals, with a gradual paling in color and reduction in size westward and northward (C. l. texensis, C. l. latrans, C. l. lestes, and C. l. incolatus), a brightening of ochraceous tones-deep orange or brown-towards the Pacific coast (C. l. ochropus, C. l. umpquensis), a reduction in size in the Southwestern United States (C. l. microdon, C. l. mearnsi) and a general trend towards dark reddish colors and short muzzles in Mexican and Central American populations." According to DNA testing, coyotes from California show almost no wolf ancestry. Hence, part of why they are smaller.

The coywolf, a more adaptable beast which is more destructive than a normal wolf or coyote. The coyotes here in North East Mexico are taking on wolf-like characteristics and behaviours. They can weigh as much as 70 pounds or more.
I use to have two dogs, and my neighbor also had 3 dogs. We commonly found coyotes in our ranch. Sometimes we heard and saw packs of coyotes 3 to 6 of them. Every once in awhile a dead coyote would appear and we'll jave to bury it. Eventually I lose my dogs and the coyotes came back. When we got more dogs they all stopped coming.
Coyotes adapt !!! Next time you walk your dogs there will be 4 or 5 coyotes Not 2 !!! And they will attack you and your dogs and your bat will be useless !!!
A couple years ago my husband found baby coyotes and brought me two one didn’t make it and the female survived we raised her until she could be on her own. She would come back eventually until we never saw her again.
At my former residence coyotes moved in over time and wreaked havoc. I have always had rhodesian ridgebacks, at the time I had 2, noticed the coyote pack was over 6, so, I got 2 more ridgebacks, within 3 months all 4 were like brothers, within 6 months the coyote pack was dispersed with no harm to my brothers-in-barks 😁 Lesson: if you see coyotes get more, bigger dogs and train them. After all, coyotes fight with numbers.
Shocked 2 coyotes actually attacked with a husky and a person. The little dog, of course, he doesn’t have a shot but these guys must’ve been extremely hungry and getting a little to comfy in the area.
this has become a not so rare occurrence here in Nova Scotia. and yes we do not have any coyotes here , for they are all coywolfs. I have some footage check it out.
With Coyotes, if you are an average sized human being or larger you have a decent chance of fighting them off. Stay on your feet, don't let them take you down, if you do get taken down for the eyes/nose and grab at their legs, roll to snap them.
I love all kinds of animals and Wildlife but if anything or anyone tried messing with my dogs or cat I what do whatever it takes to ensure their safety.
This scares me. I haven’t seen any coyotes in my area yet but I hear them at night all the time. I have a German shepherd husky mix who’s my world and I try to carry some kind of weapon (not like a gun or anything, I’m talking like a crowbar or hunting knife) with me when I walk her at night out of fear of something attacking her. Very glad this Man and his Dogs weathered this encounter. Frightening. What ever became of this situation? I see it took place a number of months back...
Wow.... Great guy... Really loves his pups
Nova Scotia? Hell with the baseball bat, I’d be carrying a .44 magnum for bears
When I go for walks on my family property out back my home always take 12g. We got alot of these things around my area. Last doe season one came at me had to hip fire but missed he took off in a hurry.
I never seen a coyote looking like that.
This owner is lucky this happened to me and sadly lost my 7 month year old dog
Hello angie hw are you doing
Thats a real dog owner, You are there to protect your dog not the other way around..
I'm from silver city ms I was chase home by four scariest thing I've ever been through they are aggressive grew up there all my life
I seen a coyote up close I freaked tf out I thought it was a wolf (I live In California) that thing was huge! My grandma who is Native American she lived in states Wyoming, Colorado and Oregon, she laughed at me and said “oh no wolves are far more bigger” lol
Hello corral hw are you doing
This guy's speaking speed is as fast as the fire rate of an ak47
I love this guy so much
If I lived in coyote country I'd carry a spear as a walking staff to protect my pets, and even myself if necessary. I know they're just a wild animal, but I hate how coyotes are so brazen and merciless.
Carry a pistol.
@@robk1310 When your pets are the target somehow a spear is more satisfying and personal for the coyotes...pistol for backup, or to stop them escaping justice
The coywolf, a more adaptable beast which is more destructive than a normal wolf or coyote. The coyotes here in North East Mexico are taking on wolf-like characteristics and behaviours. They can weigh as much as 70 pounds or more.
0:25 That husky is walking his human. Very responsible. I hope he also cleans up after his human.
He’s sounds irish
Also I’m glad he saved his dogs
I use to have two dogs, and my neighbor also had 3 dogs. We commonly found coyotes in our ranch. Sometimes we heard and saw packs of coyotes 3 to 6 of them. Every once in awhile a dead coyote would appear and we'll jave to bury it. Eventually I lose my dogs and the coyotes came back. When we got more dogs they all stopped coming.
Coyotes adapt !!! Next time you walk your dogs there will be 4 or 5 coyotes Not 2 !!! And they will attack you and your dogs and your bat will be useless !!!
That's why they hunt in packs
That's what guns are for.
This is why you should always carry a firearm 100% of the time and train with it... so you can protect your family / dogs.
A shame he isn’t free to carry a side arm. I have two huskies and a little havanies. I can’t protect all three without mine.
Those coyotes look at least a full 20lbs bigger than the desert coyotes we have in Arizona.
A couple years ago my husband found baby coyotes and brought me two one didn’t make it and the female survived we raised her until she could be on her own. She would come back eventually until we never saw her again.
Why you didn't keep her as your pet?
@@cashshawn coyotes are wild animals maybe???
These coyotes are becoming so brazen… I live on the edge of wilderness in my city. I sort of worry about this now…
At my former residence coyotes moved in over time and wreaked havoc. I have always had rhodesian ridgebacks, at the time I had 2, noticed the coyote pack was over 6, so, I got 2 more ridgebacks, within 3 months all 4 were like brothers, within 6 months the coyote pack was dispersed with no harm to my brothers-in-barks 😁
Lesson: if you see coyotes get more, bigger dogs and train them. After all, coyotes fight with numbers.
Glad it could work for you.
good on ya man for keeping your dogs safe from them...
Guy to coyote: so you chose death
They are Coywolves, not coyotes. Lrger, more of a coat and more aggressive.
Coyotes are just hungry animals looking for any opportunity for a meal. So glad he saved his dogs.
those looked like coy-wolves
I would fight with my bare hands for my dog.
If yotes are in your area, carry a nice sized blade for walks.
All animals should get help like this! :(
That's why I walk with bear spray for a encounter like this one, not the little bear spray either, makes my dog walk fill a little safer At least.
Yo if I see a coyote near my dogs we’re squaring up on meeee 🚫🧢
Most of the dogs on my block, including my own, were eaten by coyotes. It was so sad.
Shocked 2 coyotes actually attacked with a husky and a person. The little dog, of course, he doesn’t have a shot but these guys must’ve been extremely hungry and getting a little to comfy in the area.
Those are some well fed coyotes! I've seen many coyotes and most are pretty thin.
Yes, most are frail and very thin. I've never seen coyotes like that before.
Who gets flash backs from barn yard whenever I hear about coyotes
this has become a not so rare occurrence here in Nova Scotia. and yes we do not have any coyotes here , for they are all coywolfs. I have some footage check it out.
Where can I see the footage?
Respect from England
I have a husky as soon as the husky came on screen my hart dropped 😢
If the Husky wasn't blind or visually impaired, it would have taken care of business.
The coyotes must have picked up on that.
The dog has alot of miles on him 😂
With Coyotes, if you are an average sized human being or larger you have a decent chance of fighting them off. Stay on your feet, don't let them take you down, if you do get taken down for the eyes/nose and grab at their legs, roll to snap them.
Where there's one or two there's a pack hiding in the bushes. The will be back!
The Cape Breton area is where singer Taylor Mitchell was killed by a coyote pack in 2009.
I love all kinds of animals and Wildlife but if anything or anyone tried messing with my dogs or cat I what do whatever it takes to ensure their safety.
Haha coyotes like "yo, ya gonna eat all that??" 😂😂😂
All the more reason to carry a handgun while walking your dog, where permitted. Or perhaps a short sword.
We have coyotes in our back 40 so I also carry a bat . The big difference is my bat is better used as the tactical 12 Gauge it is .
Those are some healthy looking coyotes! They’ve been eating something
You love your dogs, bring them in.
Just in case.
Glad his family "pats" are safe
