@@kayacenk4164 No Yildirim was a pure proud Turkish Sultan unlike you devşirme kanı bozuk . You and I know damn well you are not a Turk , nothing but a back stabbing devşirme’s offspring. It is true Yildirim Beyazıt conducted many raids & several large battles in Anatolia against the other Turkic Beyliks with his loyal Serbian Vassal Stefan Lazarevic & his heavy Serbian Cavalary . He actually won almost all of them . The other Turkic Beylik especially Karamanoğulları wanted to bring the House of Osman down so they can be the premier Turkish power in the region . When they realized Timur was going to win the battle of Ankara , they switched sides and attacked the Ottoman troops . On the other hand , it is very well documented and even praised by Timur himself , Serbian knights held the line and fought bravely almost until the end . I ll take 1 brave Serb over 20 of your ancestors any day kanı bozuk .

Stefan Lazareviç ( He is a highly respected historical figure. He is a great person for Serbians.) It was clear that Yıldırım Bayezid would lose the war. His arrogant behavior, lack of self-control, failure to listen to statesmen, and most importantly, failure to know Emir Timur in detail brought his end.

partly true regarding the Serbs in this battle, because mostly western sources are used, which are not very reliable and unfavorable towards Orthodox Christians, neither then nor now. Only Serbs from the Balkans took part in the battle, 5,000 heavy armored men in black burnished armor, to that number should be added at least 3 more infantry, i.e. servants and cavalrymen, because each knight had at least 2 more horses and servants, i.e. heavy axemen and heavy spearmen with him and then it reaches a number of 12,000 Serbs. Another important thing, the Serbs used shields "in the Serbian way", ie shields with a groove for holding spears and the famous one-and-a-half-handed swords, "spata skjavoneska", of the famous swordsman Vlka (Vuk from Prizren). One more important thing must be understood, Stefan was not a loyal servant of Bayazit because he loved him, but honor and service were viewed differently then, the knight kept his word and promise, there are statements made by Stefan that concern his luck because Bayazit fell and therefore the pressure on Serbia eased. The Serbs did not withdraw from the battle, on the contrary, Stefan retreated to the hill behind the Turkish camp and engaged in battle 3 times in the classic wedge formation - a formation similar to the Byzantine cataphracts where the first attack line starts with 12 knights each and each subsequent line receives 4 more horsemen until we reach the figure of 504 knights with the commander in that formation, which we take for the attack on the battlefield because it was easy for maneuvers and he came to the Turkish center 3 times and tried to save Bayesid and he personally pulled out the Turkish princes and accompanied Suleiman to Jedrene. There are records from the Mongol court which are proof that the Serbs never retreat from the battlefield, the outcome of the battle is irrelevant, and in which it is written that 70 Serbian artisans were taken to Samarkand because the Mongols heard that the Serbs were the most similar in the art of masonry to the Roman-Byzantines. While the others who survived the battle and fell into captivity were released because of their heroic feats, strength, power and skill shown in the battle that amazed the Mongols. This is partly a romantic play that has come down to our days, but it is known that Stefan bought each of his soldiers for 6 gold coins- 1 gold coin is 24 Serbian perpers, every household in that day Serbia payed the tax of 2 perpers per one house hold per year. This is another proof of how financially strong Serbia was then and that the Serbs did not leave their own to the mercy of the Mongols. There are even written names of those people who were taken to Samarkand as artisans, masons and craftsmen stonemasons, Vukan from Novi Brdo, Marko and Manasije from Krusevac, Nikola and Petar from Prizren, etc. A total of about 6,000 soldiers returned to Serbia, the rest fell in a heroic battle.

Calling Timur a Mongol is like calling II.Mehmed a Latin or Greek because he claimed to be “Caesar of Rome”.
Calling him Persian or Mongol is a great historical crime. Please don’t do that.
If you visit Uzbekistan, his homeland, you will face very bad reactions if you say that.
He even insulted Bayezid’s Turkness in his letters. He said Ottoman soldiers were “devshirme slaves” (probably referring to Janissaries) and his soldiers were real Turks and would win.

The song is "Oj Lazare, Lazare" a Serbian song about Lazar, father of Stefan who was leading those 5000 knights in battle of Ankara. And it is performed by Polish music group, and it is their variation of the which ended up being one of soundtracks in the video game Witcher 3. I like the song very much, killed a lot of npc's while it was playing but It dont belong here.😅

    • @CruWiT
      @CruWiT 8 місяців тому +4

I agree, if the Golden Horde and Ottomans had not been fought agains Timur, northern lands would still be under Turkic rule today and Russian can't create empire, and all the way to the interior of Europe would be under Turkic rule, Egypt and most of the Middle East were already under the control of the Mamluks Kypchaks Turks, Timur would probably conquer China and dominate the east. Turks dominated all Europe, Asia and Africa to large extent. North dominated by the Golden Horde, West by Ottomans, South by Mamluks and East by Timurids World map today would be a very different. Ottoman Sultan Selim the "Grim" also similar mistake, he war agains Safavid Turks and also destroyed the Mamluks who ruled by Kipchak Turks. I respect both Emir Timur and Sultan Selim, but Turks fighting each other harmed the future of all Turkic peoples in the long run, I hope we don't made same mistakes again.

that Timur came from a noble generation of Turkic immigrants who boasted of their ancestry.
While Richard Bulliet says Barlas has nothing to do with the Mongols, [15] René Grousset [16] argues that Timur's origins are based on Genghis Khan in books written during his time, whereas Timur has no relation to the Mongols and says that Timur is a Turk..

If the Ottomans had not been busy with a civil war against the Timurid dynasty, the whole of Europe would have been under the Ottoman flag.
It is quite sad that the Ottomans behaved very selfishly in the 14th century. Peace and permission were granted to conquer Eastern Europe, but the Ottomans canceled their natural spread to Europe and returned to fight against the Timurid dynasty, who were also Muslim brothers and desired sole rule. This led to the most devastating war in Muslim history. Thousands of elephants from India were used by the Timurids to crush the Ottomans, resulting in the deaths of 40,000 Ottoman soldiers. The Ottomans were declared defeated after their leader was killed by the Timurids.

Amazing story, such a large scale battle, specially all the different units from so many places. But a terrible time for the Ottomans to face a superior force in numbers of the Mongols. All that cavalry in one place must have shaken the ground. Oh no, the Ottoman Allies turned on them too?. the battle must have been insane, who are fighting now for or against the soldiers must have been asking in the Ottoman side?. 30,000 casualties out of 85,000 is almost half the force but the Mongols had so few compared with the Ottoman side 15,000 out of 140,000 is nothing

Maybe the name Uzbek was given in 16 century to the nation of Transoxania, but it doesn't mean that Temur was not Uzbek. Before Shibanid Uzbeks came here (Transoxania) the nation who lived here was named turks not turco-mongol. In 16 Century some Uzbek tribes came to Transoxania and mixed with locals and the nation named theimselves Uzbeks for some reasons. Temurs nation didn't move anywhere and the descendants of Temur's nation now is called Uzbeks. Whole world call Temur turco-mongol, and Uzbeks also is called Turco-mongol according to the history of english sources (they know us better than us ?) . If Timur is turco-mongol, And Uzbeks are also turco- mongol, why we don't call Timur as Uzbek ? Interesting ? The name Uzbek is maybe new but the 50-60 million Uzbek nation( all around the world) is not new and they didn't come directly from the moon. Uzbek nation is the oldest and one of the biggest nation of the world and they have been living here for centuries.

The primary reason of the identification of Timur as a "Turco-Mongol" is because he was leading the Chaghatai branch of the old Great Mongol Empire. Just like Salāh al-Dīn, having a Kurdish origin he has been considered as a "Saracen (Arab) sultan", and all of his sons bore original Turkish names. The identities in the Medieval were some different from the recent nations concept.

It is known that name of Amir Timur was Tekina Mohegam, but its origin remained very contradictory information. The childhood and youth of Amir Temur was held in the mountains of the Cache. Amir Temur loved hunting and equestrian events, javelin and archery, had a penchant for war games in his youth.
Amir Temur was brave and restrained. He was able to make the right decision in difficult situations with the sobriety of judgment,. These traits and attracted people. Military service Temur began the local rulers. Glory brought Temur with the influential emirs of Transoxiana.

Timur was an empty warrior who grew up in the shadow of the Mongols and was plagued with an inferiority complex. He probably attacked the Ottomans by taking money from Christians. The reason is simple: Why would Timur need Anatolia? In the early 15th century, Timurid empire already invaded all the known parts of the developed world then. Ottomans were not considered as a big prize. Timurids were culturally more advanced nation than Ottomans! Therefore, Ankara battle was not a desired one for Timur, it was rather a forced campaign. The gifts and wealth Timur got from Ottomans was nothing compared to Indian campaign. Hence, Timur was so eager to leave Anatolia as soon as possible for Samarkand and prepare for Chinese campaign!

Osmanlı army was %95 Türks. Tımarlı Sipahis were the main army which were mostly light cavalry , heavy cavalry; light and heavy infantry. Carrying various type of arms and firearms. Kapıkulu was the specialists and others such as cannoners, bombardiers, and other specialised units. Then there was the navy and the troops for vassalised lands. Yeniçeris was only the guardmen of the Padişah-Sultan-Han. Yeniçeris were no more than 10k. So, only that much of the army was Balkan converts. But usualy non Muslim Albanians and Serbs were prefered since they were known to be better warriors then other Balkan people. Muslim Albanians and Bosnians would not be Yeniçeri but would join the core army. Because they were not considered converts. Yeniçeris were only responsible to guard the Emperor. They were not the main army units. But only Royal Palace guards. (Similar to Praetorians) The core training of the Yeniçeris were given at Turkish families at earlier age and then they were sent to advanced academic and military training at the Palace quarters.
