Watch the documentary “Still So Alive” to learn how Dr. Tom and Sam's friendship was forged through tragedy and grief: • After Losing Two Sons ...
I cannot even fathom how we are going to get through the crucifixion scenes. Jonathan has done such a fantastic job, I think it will hit all of us extremely hard.
I can’t imagine how taxing it will be on Jonathan either!
To be honest I don't think I will be able to watch it.
I'll probably go into the kitchen and turn on mute. I did the same for the Passion of the Christ.
It’s a good thing we gets seasons 4 and 5 before that even happens
I think it’s going to be extremely painful and emotional to watch, not only because of the pain we’re gonna see him go through but because of the emotional and spiritual attachment we have to Jonathan as Jesus
There is no show ever created that comes close to comparing to The Chosen. By far the greatest thing ever created in the entertainment genre.
When Jesus cried, I lost it.
Contagious enthusiasm! The scene calling Lazarus from the grave, and His weeping....so moving, so real, so human. Love it, and it's just the trailer!
My heart break for Yeshua at this point. Knowing what he will have to endure. 😢❤🙏
THE CHOSEN is the BEST thing that has happen for all the people!!!!
I’m a huge fan too. Keep sharing them
Yes, it is. Our gracious Lord is allowing us to "see" the story in our modern, confused, chaotic, ungodly times, as it very likely really happened. Maranatha!
Jesus saving us, and God making us all for His glory is the best actually. Lol ❤
Lazarus, come out!!! Can’t wait to see this. Can you imagine being there when the real Jesus performed that miracle? How shocking it must have been to have someone that had been gone for days to be raised. I can’t wait to meet the real Jesus!😍🥰
Jonathan is so perfect for portraying Jesus. I love the whole Actors.
The love you both have for Yeshua leaps from the screen and moves me greatly. You have highlighted some of the most beautiful aspects of His character just from this trailer. Thank you both!
So y'all are excited for season 4, huh? 😂
I cannot wait to see y'all's react videos to each of the episodes.
I think I saw Zebedee helping to roll Laz's stone, as well(?) Also, all of my life, I believed that Jesus wept NOT because Laz died....He KNEW He would raise him up, but because He would be bringing Laz back from Heaven to have to deal with the chaos Laz would end up enduring, here on earth. It HAD to be heart-breaking for Jesus in a way. I mean, Jesus knew that, even if Laz was dead dead, He'd see him soon. But, His grief seemed deeper, if you know what I mean. Also, thank you for your lesson on the appointment of the High Priest by the Romans. I didn't know that before.
I appreciate your perspective on why Jesus wept. 'Why' has always been a question in my mind. I think it it was layered as He was grieving over many things at once, but never did I think of Jesus lamenting bringing Lazurus from the presence of God. That's an insightful thought. Thx for sharing
I have heard that theory from a former pastor. I do not think that was why Jesus wept.
I always thought it was for Laz’s sisters’ grief.
I think Jesus wept because He was realising the grief and pain sin causes, and also how people didn’t recognise that they were standing in the presence of the Resurrection and the Life 😢
@julieannboone80 that makes more sense.
Truely was very moving ,brought goosebumps and tears. Christ died for me a sinner. Thanks be to my Heavenly Father.
Not even death!!! HALLELUJAH TO OUR KING
The reactions of "grafted" really help me understand "the Chosen"
Thank you for this added insight! So helpful when watching this series, to have the additional background information. (I didn't know that the high priest during this time was appointed by Rome. That explains a LOT!)
Thank you for the encouragement! It is so interesting and helpful to learn more of the context! Always more to learn and more of the LORD available to us!
Paradox = Beyond belief.
I love that perspective of the word. Even though I know the ending, my brain goes thru the disbelief phase every time, revisting Jesus's last days.
Shabbat Shalom! Stay warm and safe.
My son told me, Mom, u know u have a permanent smile on ur face while I was watching The Chosen again lol which is amazing for him to see how exciting it is for me and how much I love Jesus and I'm telling him the actual biblical content as it goes along. I cannot wait though for season 4!! but It's gna be so so hard to see him go to the cross and then exciting again.
This is the second time I watched this trailer and seeing Jesus just break down crying sent me into a crying blubbering mess again...I'm going to be an absolute mess in the theaters and as much as I can't wait to see what they do and how they tell the story, it's going to destroy me emotionally. Watching Judas start to go down that path is already breaking my heart and we've still got about a month or so to wait. 😢
Thank you again, guys. This paradoxical truth is so hard to grasp without faith. And our faith is precious to God. Love your videos 😊
Well, y'all are (almost) spot on, I think you will be surprised about one of the scenes. Glad to have met you in person at The Chosen Con!
Love that you get so excited like us about our beloved hero, our God 🤩
Thank you for helping us understand the biblical and historic context of Jesus' life. How rich is the word of God! I'm getting so much more out of watching the show knowing the significance of things I've only wondered about. Thank you for all you do!
Please dont make us wait for your reaction to the newest trailer!!!
Thanks for teaching me so much about our beautiful Jesus Christ. God bless you both
Hey guys!!!! So good to be back with y’all!! 😊
I learned so much about Hebrew background from this short video! An eye-opener. Simply wow! Thank you!
7:20 I'm pretty sure that isn't Palm Sunday - on another trailer it shows someone in a helmet with a shield riding in while the crowd waves palms at him, and it's probably a flashback to David
Hello Sam& Dr Tom!!! So glad to see you both !! So happy to hear your reactions to the Chosen’s season four trailer & what you both look forward to when it is released!! I hope you both had a wonderful holiday season- you& your families!! I can’t wait to see what you have in store for 2024!! Happy New Year & God bless!!🙏🙏🙏😍😍😍
You guys crack me up with Simon Peter saying, "Let me go get that for you." Absolutely hilarious!
I always enjoy your perspective on The Chosen and it's content. Thanks for another insightful video
I'm just as excited as you guys. When I saw Lazarus coming out I went yes!!!
I mean Jonathan Roumie is a fantastic actor but I think it is gonna be hard to watch because I really don’t comprehend the kind of love that Jesus has for us. Jesus know everything about me EVERYTHING and he was willing to do this for me and for all of us. And I think Jonathon has portrayed Jesus really well and no doubt will make us feel as the disciples must have felt watching this happen to Jesus. Hard but beautiful…Thank God we know how it ends! I pray we spread the Word as the disciples did to th ends of the earth. And I pray for Jonathan as I am sure this will weigh on Him heavily❤
The Rock is the words that Sam alluded to. You are the Christ the Son of the Living God.
Thank you Grafted yet again. The Chosen is amazing on its own, however I am blessed because you bring even more. Your raw, honest reaction and your Biblical, historical knowledge is just added blessing. God bless and continud to use you for His purpose
Thank you so much for the kind words and encouragement! We're glad you're here! Can't wait to see all of Season 4!
"Lazarus come out!" So powerful!
So intense season 4 The chosen Thank u Guys this making me closer to God thank u Jesus for dieing on Cross for our sins I will follow Jesus always and forever
Listening to y'all talk about the paradoxes, and all that He is, reminds me of why He is call "I Am"!
Always appreciate your inspiring perspectives, Tom and Sam. Rod say hi Tom! We miss you.
There's another new preview released since this one!@ yall gotta react to it pleeezzzz!!!
So good to see you both back talking about this trailer. Shabbat Shalom from California.
The resurrection of Lazarus scene is awesome. I’m reminded of the same scene in the Bible miniseries on the History channel and you could tell those guys didn’t really know scripture. Jesus didn’t go into the tomb, kiss Lazarus, and whisper “come out…”.
Hello my Chosen Con Hanevi’im friends!!! Looking forward to all of your videos! Have a blessed 2024! 🙌🇮🇱🕊
Guys yall getting me fired up to watch this for sure! When you talk about Hosanna! My my.
It's not the Triumphal Entry. Too early in the timeline. It's a flashback to King David.
It's a way of connecting Jesus to the lineage and Kingship of David for the audience I believe.
Extras on the set say scene was filmed on day actors weren't working d/t strike. It wasn't Jonathan Roumey on the donkey.
Shabat Shalom my brothers!
Go Tom!
Oh you two are so good with your teaching, so deep, I need to ponder. Would love to go to the showing of these with you! Just to see how you react...
And you know, there is another longer trailer out you need to comment on. Just love you guys!!!
Always look forward to your videos. I learn so much from you guys. Thank you so much!
The Angel rolled the stone away!
I kind of wonder if the triumphal entry could be a flashback of King David's entry into Jerusalem with the ark. @10:46 The helmet and the shield the guy is wearing reminds me of King David.
I LOVE yalls reactions to this show!!!
Thank you as always for your commentary. Can't wait to see Season 4. Gives me goose bumps.
Look @ 0.40: jesus with a backpack!!! This is hilarious🤣🤣🤣🤣
In one of the last scenes when Jesus goes down and Mother goes to him. It is all I can do not to cry out loud. The cry gets stuck in my throat. Oh Lord I love you and tears come. He is the only one I can turn to in the depth of this sorrow.
I enjoy and appreciate your perspectives. Thank you guys!
I don’t even know where I would be without my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I thank him that He is patient and merciful with a wretched man like me. You Lord are the author of life. I will serve you all my days.🙏
I can't wait for Season 4
Thanks for your time guys. Your reaction, and explaining of how things are from a biblical stand is amazing. I love your passion and desire for Christ. God bless your work. Keep it up! Praise Jesus, King of Kings!
I love you guys so much! ❤
Love your videos.
Hosanna.
So grateful for your insight and love for Jesus, you have helped me understand so much awesome. ❤
This gets me every time 😭
Thank you so much. You are so inspiring!! Started watching season 4 in June 24.
You are right this is so hard to watch. It seems so real and painful.
I agree! It is so wrong but is so right. When I watched the Passion of the Christ, I cried my eyes out on His crucifixion. Yet it was so wrong and yet so right.
Another commentator said the Jerusalem entry palms scene is not the triumpfull entry because it was filmed during the actors' strike, so they called in volunteers to film King David entering Jerusalem. Don't know.
Did you hear that the actor playing Simon Peter is fighting with the IDF in Israel? I've already been praying for all the people (soldiers or not) in Israel, but God bless Shahar and keep him safe!
Shabbat Shalom guys. Thanks for the great reaction. Just wondering will you be going to the Premier?
The triumphal entry filming occurred when SAG went on strike. The fan extras were already there, so they had to go ahead and film the e crowd without the cast present. Then the cast was filmed when they were allowed to return to work. I'm sure the cinematographer and editors made it look seamless.
Son's out guns out - Simon 💪🏽
I thought the palms may have been a flashback to King David’s triumphant return of the Ark of the covenant. Maybe a Parallel telling of the stories.
Gorgeous video, so full of deep insight and devotion! Thank you!
Such a great review, TY!
I always enjoy your videos ❤
wow! I'm soo excited!! :))
I just found your channel and I love it so much already, I just went to on my first trip to Israel and it was amazing and then hearing yall explain Jewish traditions and the waysthe Jews were back in the first century is so awesome to me! Thank you for your channel! One question, are both of you Jewish?
Sam and Dr. Tom are both Gentile. They are both elders in a Messianic congregation where there is a strong emphasis on Jew and Gentile worshipping together while maintaining distinct identities. We're so glad you enjoyed your trip to Israel! It really does make you see the Bible in a new way!
I am anxious to see what they do with John, 6.
I don’t think that’s the Triumphal Entry of Yeshua. When you see the helmet (edit: in the teaser and/or recent final little trailer) it’s not Roman. I think it’s for King Solomon via King David.
I agree
I think it IS the Triumphal entry. They are showing a trailer for the whole season. That scene would be at the very end, the last episode.
@@pkmcnett5649 Several months ago, one of Chris and Jalein’s videos showed lots of palm branches and a couple of donkeys, and at the time I thought for certain it was the Triumphal Entry of Jesus, and that it would be episode 8. I still think that may happen at the tail end before S5, but the scene they’ve been showing a glimpse of in the S4 trailers, I’m 99% positive is from when King David mounted Solomon on his donkey, then took him in a procession to Gihon, establishing Solomon as co-regent and the true successor to the throne. The reenactment of that Bible event was still done during Jesus time here. The King David/Solomon event was literally the precursor to Jesus’ ride into Jerusalem and in establishing Him as Messiah and true King. The S4 trailer that showed more, including the person in a helmet, wasn’t a Roman helmet; it was depicting something much more ancient than the 1st century, and that’s why I think that scene in particular will take us back to King David and Solomon. I think it’s absolutely necessary for that background to be written into the script. Also we’ve heard that King David will make another appearance in S4 and this would be the most logical place to have him appear.
@@pkmcnett5649 Another hint: the helmet wearer is carrying a shield, which has a lion on it - as in the Lion of Judah, House of David. Also … you know how Old Testament accounts are shown at the beginning of some episodes, as background to what will happen in an important part of the episode? The David/Solomon event would be shown at the beginning of (probably) episode 8.
The Chosen shows many different groups of religious leaders throughout the Jewish community. How can I understand the differences and dynamics between the groups? Have you ever done a video that would help me understand?
Odds are the entry into Jerusalem is a flashback of King David since he was on set that week. Guess we'll wait & see.
As a gentile Christian grafted into the Vine of God's people, my heart breaks for God's people not recognizing God's Son.
READY!!!!!!😁
Hello from Memphis
You made a mistake!
Your education of Israel and adding it to the scenes is wonderful.
I just wanted to point out one area that you made a mistake which I would have thought you knew.
It's the 70 Sevens of Daniel starting with the command to rebuild Jerusalem. At "Palm Sunday" that completes 483 years of the 490. You stated that it was the 490th week on Palm Sunday.
Daniel states that Messiah would be "cut off" at the end of the 483rd week which He was when He ascended into heaven leaving 7 years Israel still owed for punishment to be fullfilled in the 7 year tribulation. Then that 490th year is the "Second Coming"!!
I do enjoy your videos and your reviews of "The Chosen"!
@3:13 doesn't that bring to light how God is just as much for division as He is for unity? You have to divide the good from the bad to keep good's integrity, untainted by the bad. (just a thought)
Great point
Totally
Please, when you make a reaction video, is it possible to see it for the first time in front of the camera? Reaction videos are also about emotions during first seeing it, right? ;-) But still, I do love your insights for sure. :-)
“ Jesus wept!” Makes me so sad
I had no idea about the high priest being placed/decided by Rome!!! That's huge to me. I have studied the history of Roman Catholicism. It seems obvious when Rome lost grasp on it's vast imperialized territory; they turned to representing a very gauche version of the Christian Church for control. Earliest depictions of Jesus are in Greek art and nothing like the Roman Catholic Church where they actually depicted Jesus as Saturn and God as Jupiter.
Saturnalia is on Dec 25, unlike how Biblically there's more evidence for Jesus being born during Sukkot. On top of the sheer symbolism of the celebration of the holy time of Sukkot and the dwellings, Jesus in Mary and in his form of being human!
There's so much more on this subject. But that tid bit about Rome and the holy priest- Wow! 😮
I'm a gentile but if I started to attend services with my family again (non-denominational) I'd choose a Messainic Synagogue. If there were such things as a Karaite Messianic, I just think that would be the bee's knees. 😅 I hear many people don't know who the Karaites are. Worth looking into.
Loving this content! And looking forward to Season 4! 🎉
Jesus coming to Jerusalem on a donkey meant peace but if someone came on a horse, it means war!
“ the rock” was not a place it was a person, PETER!
I really like the recent Shroud of Turin videos that show the Jewish adornments on the image. I don't think He would have been wearing those on the cross. Someone must have added those at the burial.
5:45 You got that mixed up. What is bound/loosed on earth will be bound/loosed in Heaven.
You do know that there is one more official trailer.
Please, what means the word "Grafited" ? I am from Brazil and I couldn`t find the right meaning .
Grafted é enxertado, em uma explicação simples, quando pegamos um galho de uma planta por exemplo e juntamos em uma outra planta. Ser enxertado em sentido espiritual/bíblico é ser renovado por Cristo e adotado ao povo santo de Israel.
obrigada 🙏@@chrisstern
Okay. This question always puzzles me. Even if the Jewish Leadership has recognized him as The Messiah, he was destined for the cross to pay for all our sins. How does history change if they recognize him but he gets crucified anyway?
@@Lynn-r8h No! But I will look into it.
we're going to see the defeatof death
This guy in the black shirt looks like Hugh Laurie. House m.d
Is this for the “Deliver Us” trailer?!
No this is the official trailer, the second to last one
All of this is hard to watch. Also the trailer that has the song...
"What wondrous love is this ? Oh my soul..."
