I have pretty much binged "the chosen" for last 24hrs, I'm 43yo,6ft 250lb truck driver, I have cried like a colicky infant lol absolutely love it!! Thank you all! Yeshua Hamashiach!!!!!
Loved the scene between Jesus and John the Baptist!!!! My heart melted when John said to Jesus : You know my heart is yours my life is yours!!!!! Just touched my heart!!!!!!
28:50 Mary's story in this series is one of the main catalysts to my return to God. Over 23 years as an atheist, and thanks to this show in large part, I am back at church trying to figure out my salvation like everyone else. So grateful.
Sanctification is a life long process my friend. The main key to holiness is using your best efforts to improve while seeking more knowledge. Reading more scripture and praying more will get us closer to God and strengthen our relationships with him. This in turn will increase our discernment.
I identify with Mary ... have cried a lot and had things happen to me that caused me to slide backwards. I did not think I was forgivable(redeemable) and yet there HE was waiting with his arms open to embrace me, love me, and redeem me and restore me back to the family. Thank you for what you do, Dallas. this so touches the heart of everyone of us who know that we're not perfect but are only made perfect in HIM who created us... who knew us and who has called us by name...
I was totally sold out to God for years. I then became a raging alcoholic for 10 years. 4 years sober now. YOU CAN BACKSLIDE!! I’m so thankful that He never left me alone.
I feel John’s “yes was a way to go Jesus.. you showed those demons who’s boss! Oh yeah!! “ I think I would have done the same or felt like it if i were there as you can’t contain yourself when right prevails.. you want to shout!!!
Honestly, seeing the relapse in the show is really important. How painful and lonely it is to be backsliden, and how difficult it is to even share that it even happened, but it can’t be treated like something that isn’t possible to happen at all, because it does
@hyperchord please don't feel that people will hate you. No one is perfect. We all battle our demons. You are not alone, behind all people is that moment. Some can hide it c well, but, believe it that you are not alone. Stay strong! You can do it if you pray and put your mind to it! It works! I'm not a holy roller, but, God is here for you. He will never leave you! You can do it!
@@margaretgrosskreuz8687 There is nothing especially special in identifying with fictional characters. If it were Bambi, you'd react just the same. It's pandering.
@@Billy-Mandalay This is not a place to argue, but I respectfully disagree with you. This is a about Jesus, His undying love that is never exhausted. It is an unconditional love like no other. Agape love can come from God alone, not just any concerned parent.🙏😊💯
The story line on Mary. I was saved when I was very young, Decades later my husband left me and I reverted way back too. I fell into sin and like Mary felt so unworthy of Jesus. I spent a long time in repentance and pleading for forgiveness and "suddenly" I realized He loves me and I was forgiven. I know that He knows what I'm going to do and He's not surprised by anything I do. I love how He loves us. Thanks Dallas, I love this show and I think you and the crew are anointed for this.
Didn't all women have their "moment" when Eve committed the very first sin by allowing herself to be seduced in false promises of godhood? As if a creature stupid enough to be deceived could be a god of any kind... the irony.
@DiscipleDave DotCom Not entirely correct. The Father counts us righteous because of our faith, and that has never changed. Pre-Jesus, people had faith in the Father's promises to Abraham but were still under the curse of the law. Post-Jesus people were made free from the law and salvation became available to all, but by having faith in Jesus Christ being made flesh, dying, then resurrecting on the third day we are baptized in His name. Now the Holy Spirit is available to all who repent and come to faith, whereas before the Holy Spirit dwelled in a temple.
I love how Jerry B Jenkins said something like:”The Chosen is not an addition to the Bible, it’s more like a catalyst to read the Bible”. And he is so right. Also, now when I read the Bible I could see the heroes in my mind from the Chosen. Even the book of Acts are painted in different colors now after watching the Chosen!
Probably true. The only thing I might be confused about is this. Did the director say Allah? For some reason I felt like he said something that sounded like that false Muslim god when he was discussing the training that one of the characters had.
I truly feel God’s hand is on this production. So well done, so human, so healing. We are all blessed by this , thank you for answering yes when called.
Dallas, I think the Mary Magdalene story line is NOT offensive. I loved it. We all can back slide at any time, which is why we should always focus on God and need to ask God for help. Plus, in Episode 6, I love love love that The Blessed Mother Mary brought Mary Magdalene straight to Jesus, and stayed with Mary Magdalene during the reconciliation with Jesus. This is really a key role of The Blessed Mother Mary -- she brings all of us closer to her Son.
Yes,yes, yes Mary brings us to her son, to Jesus. That is why many Christians say their Hail Marys. First they go through the life of Jesus and as we do that we are asking Mother Mary to come to Jesus with us as friend and momma. It’s really beautiful.💞🕊🦋
The John and Jesus scene was so beautiful! I literally cried cause I felt like when I sit with Jesus and he comes in a place of correcting me, he comes in so much peace and love. It was so beautiful. It reminded me that Jesus is so gentle like that.
That's why it was so important to show the part about Mary backsliding. So many people believe they are not "allowed" that second, third etc chance, and they are.
You have to careful though. Let's say you die in the midst of your sin where will we go? So there's a difference. For instance a prostitute come to realization his/her sin and turns from it and believes and follows Christ for eternal life. Be it whatever reason he/she backslides you better believe God is not going to take their soul from the earth. We don't know. That's why it's important not to live in sin. Yes, God has unending mercy but we don't know when we are gone from this earth. It's about eternal life.
@@SM-2gmnl eternal life is eternal, and is given the moment you believe. It cannot be taken back. Our perseverance in our faith will earn us rewards in Heaven, but it does not earn our place there.
@@SM-2gmnl there's a difference in being a true follower of Christ with the sin nature of Adam and never following Christ but saying you are. God decided the True heart of the person. A person who backslides doesn't necessarily lose their soul unless that person makes a decision to turn completely away from God which may be evident by lifestyle choices that are ongoing and not just bad habits. The danger of sin is in the relationship with God you are sinning against him.
@@SM-2gmnl if you backslide you are still saved. Eternal life last forever! If we could perfect the flesh then Jesus didnt have to come and die for our sins.
Honestly Dallas, You guys are doing such an awesome job. I’m aware you guys are taking creative liberties, and I really love where you guys are taking it. I love that this show is so human, and the depiction of Jesus is (in my opinion) BEAUTIFUL! I love that Jesus is human, YES! He was God, but he was also Human! He had emotions, he was so much more than just his miracles and healings!
Dallas I AGREE 💯‼️ I love that you are “ fleshing out” these people from Scripture… giving us their back stories. Jonathan’s portrayal of Jesus is absolutely hands down the BEST I’ve ever seen. He PERFECTLY captures my Lord’s PERSONALITY… ( Which I know from my OWN interactions with Him) … I love that you show His HUMANITY…. That He struggled sometimes like in the Garden…. That He loves to joke and have fun. ( He teases ME so I speak from EXPERIENCE) There’s a time to be serious about holiness and repentance and sin and the job at hand… And there’s a time to just ENJOY Him and His company and I think you are perfectly capturing that! I also love the way Liz plays Mary Magdalene! I’m in love with her portrayal of this Amazing woman that I so look forward to meeting and speaking with some day. I love all your casting choices and know you were led by Holy Spirit in your choices because everyone fits their role like a hand in a glove! I cannot tell you how MUCH I am looking forward to future episodes! Be encouraged my brother because I KNOW THAT I KNOW that the Lord is WELL PLEASED by your efforts and this Ministry! It’s going to be a POWERFUL tool to bring in the end time harvest!! Many BLESSINGS to you and the entire cast! Keeping you covered in prayer as you expand The Kingdom!!
DO YOU FOLKS UNDERSTAND THAT CATHOLICISM IS WHAT JESUS CHRIST( CHRISTIANITY) ESTABLISHED IN THE YEAR 1? ALL THE "OTHER RELIGIONS" WERE AN OFF SHOOT OF CATHOLICISM -- THE JEWISH RELIGION WAS NOT!! JESUS WAS A JEW!
What Mary does when she fails to trust Jesus... that's been me again and again. Running away in shame, and needing to trust myself in stead. And just think: This is the same person who confessed that we can't be holy without Jesus! Whenever I've been in this situation, I called myself a hypocrite. What happened to my faith? Mary's story is so relatable to me, and I am so grateful for that. I can't wait for episode 6!
Can so relate to her in that scene!! Just put a cloth over my head and put me in the background, I’m right there. Holding onto a scripture, trying with all MY strength to stand on it when the storm rolls in to challenge that very truth! And where am I? Balled up in the fetal position, covering my ears, shaking from doubt and fear. Then my God saves the day AGAIN and I feel convicted that I didn’t stay standing on the truth no matter what. BUT the next time that storm comes, I know better! I stand firmer!

I feel like Nicodemus, crying as he didn't give up all of his worldly booty for Jesus Christ. I have nothing material but could I abandon my kids and grandkids to follow Him? I'd like to think so. But whew!
I’m surprised Mary leaving was the “controversial” part. As was talking about it I’m thinking not only is it plausible, but we’ve seen it happen in modern real life. Then he read that letter. Love this show!
My favorite part of this episode, when Mary returns, and Jesus says "look at me", and he asks her if she thought that she would never sin again.. then he says, one day, but not here.. I SOBBED!!!
Sliding back doesn't in ANY way show, that Jesus has no power in our lives. It even more so demonstrates the truth of the Gospel. Without Jesus we love the darkness - that's why we need him. Bring everything into the light. Glory to God forever and ever. Amen.
Calvinists are the ones that would have a problem with this show. Most of us would agree that even if God himself appeared before us and revealed himself as the creator. That we, creatures with free will, still could reject him.
@@Buckeye-gj4oi I have certainly experienced what that feels like. It really scared me, and now I have a better understanding why the new Testament authors put so much emphasis on doing God's will, and not our own.
@@Buckeye-gj4oi such a misunderstood idea of what reformed theology teaches. We believe that God is sovereign in all things including salvation. We believe that until the spirit changes the heart of a sinner dead in their sin and trespass we do not “choose “ Christ. But God rich in mercy changes a heart and then and only then do we choose Him. Can I ask when you pray for the lost, do you pray for them to save themselves or do you pray that God does?
One of my most favorite scenes...is when Nicodemus was weeping as he watched Jesus get the money 💰 then finally leave...we feel his heartache and longing! Well done!
The guy playing Nicodemus is one of my favorite in the show so far. I love that he is coming to Jesus as an older character as apposed to the others who are around Christ's age. Can't wait to see him and Saint Joseph of Aremathia together on screen!
1. I loved hearing the commentary on the episode! Very interesting to hear from a directors POV 2. John’s “Yes!” after the deliverance of the demon was 💯🤣👏🏼 3. Mary’s reconciliation with Jesus was by far the most beautiful scene of the series so far in my opinion and one that touched me deeply as I struggle with shame and low self worth. I felt I was Mary in that scene. This whole series is changing the way I see Jesus and even the tone of voice I hear when I read scripture. It truly is changing me. Thank you Dallas, and your entire team for being obedient to the Lord and making something so beautiful!
There should be A change, you should be able to tell from the time before they put trust in Christ and after. Specifically thier thinkfulness of sins forgiven.
I've heard it this way. When we get saved our identity immediately changes to being holy and righteous in God because of Jesus Christ. However, we dont always act like it. And that's why we fail because of Satan, sin, and the flesh.
Dallas, what a beautiful picture of the Shepherd’s heart that you would choose to take the time to walk through all of these things with the flock. You could easily put the show out and simply shrug your shoulders and walk away when there is controversy, but you are doing the hard work of loving viewers by working through it. So very pastoral and kind - thank You Lord for showing who You are through Dallas in this. Bless you guys - love the show and your sensitivity through it all!
I personally love the jokes Jesus says and all the truly human aspects that the Chosen shows. Thank you Dallas for stepping up and doing this show regardless of what many people think. We are all different and I’m so glad we are!! How boring would our world be if we all always agreed lol. I love this app and all of the cast. Thank you so much!!!!!
I have thought for years (regarding the need for all the parts of the body being needed) when I look at a church full of people how silly and boring it wpuld be if we were all NOSES !! Amusing thought for me
I have watched these two seasons more than twice just because I am so captivated by the humanity of Jesus and the imperfections of the disciples who are people I can identify with in their fallibleness. Meeting them in this movie makes them as human as me and I love it!
Episode 5 of season 2 is one of my FAVORITE episodes of The Chosen. I absolutely LOVED the scene between Simon and Jesus; I really resonate with these characters and I know God's hand is 100% over this show. I understand why some folks might disagree with some of the scenes and like Dallas said, that's okay. Film is a form of art that folks can respond differently to. But I think we can all agree that this show is exceedingly BEAUTIFUL because it uniquely captures the heart of Jesus in a fresh and impactful way that transforms lives. This show has deepened my walk with Jesus and it makes me excited to see Him face to face. Keep up the great work Dallas! Love your humility and the incredible work you are doing :)
I appreciate Dallas Jenkins’ heart and him sharing it with us. He is courageous and bold to create this series sharing the greatest story ever told in a whole new way and face all the criticism! I just know that it has added a new and exciting element to my own faith that has been so encouraging to me! It makes the Bible come alive and makes me want to learn more and more! I’m so excited about the people it’s reaching, those that don’t already have a relationship with Jesus! Thank you, Dallas, and the whole Chosen Team!
My favorite line, "Wouldnt be much of a Redemption if it were lost in a day." I totally relate as a recovered substance abuser who relapsed MANY times for I actually achieved long term recovery. I was redeemed the 1st time I asked Jesus to come into my heart. He was there waiting with open arms every time I realized I couldn't do this thing called getting clean and staying clean, without Him. He loves all of us that much! It's all a process, but many seeds were planted along the way and I use those seeds everyday to now help pull others out of the depths of addiction. Praise His Mighty Name! 🙏❤💪☝🔥🙌
We all have struggles but substance abuse is one of the hardest. So happy for you that you found recovery! I have trouble with obsession and it comes down to DAILY surrender and reliance on God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. May God Bless You Every Day!!
Just one more comment, I LOVE that you portrayed Mary (Lilith) "backsliding" - spiritual growth isn't necessarily linear, beautifully done by this script and wonderful actress!
I absolutely agree with everything that Dallas is saying. Do people not realize that everything that was written about Jesus or that time period never made into Canon!? The essence of the series is about the humanity and that is what draws people like me because it is relatable to all. If this show is not for you then please do not watch the show. As Jesus said to Nicodemus “ You came so close”. To the Chosen team set your face like Flint and keep moving forward. Prayers will continue to be lifted for you all. God Bless
@@manbrodude23 You are those people who are forever learning but never come into the full knowledge of the truth. Just like I said for those who don’t like the series, then don’t watch! If this bothers you....then get used to different
I want to start off by saying thank you for The Chosen, and thank you for all the time and effort you have put into this amazing project. It's disheartening to see how you have to defend every little decision you and your team has made in The Chosen. Like you said yourself in this video, there will be people that absolutely love a scene, while others will feel upset about it. I just want you to know that you are doing AMAZING work, and this project have touched the hearts of thousands, and it's sharing the Gospel to the glory of God. Thank you.
I so deeply admire the integrity and courage it takes to not pull your punches, Dallas. In the face of arguably the most critical audience on the planet (the internet, but especially fellow Christians on the internet, sadly enough), you let the 1st Century world be raw and realistic as far as running the gambit of human emotion and frailty that other projects and the general body of organized religion shy away from. That takes great honesty and guts!
I recommended this series to a friend. She is telling me each time she sees me it how much it means to her and to see everyone as human and just like us. She has been a Christian for many years.Keep up the good work you are doing a great job.
Very articulate and reasonable, I think for the most part the scenes that are added that are not in scripture do an excellent job at portraying the characters correctly based on the verses and historical evidence we do have.
Brother as long as each episode is lead by the Holy Spirit and you are bringing the writing of each episode before Him and seeking guidance on the stories you want to tell, all is well! The Lord know whose lives He wants to touch through the show! He has been touching lives. Also, anyone who understands deliverance from demonic oppression (casting out of demons) will understand what is happening to Mary!!! It’s a process and sometimes other healing has to happen!
“Becoming a Christian” isn't extreme soul makeover anymore than a Disney happily ever after. The preachers like to preach this to collect more souls, status, and money. The disciples, read the Bible, to see the disciples were in a process of change as they walked with the Messiah. “Work out your salvation...” is what Dallas is showing. The relationship between the Shepherd and the sheep, the renewal of their minds and hearts -even after Peter betrays Him not once like Judas, but three times. It's expected, not shamed, that the sheep go astray. It's ok to be in the process...
Yes..this. If more churches operated like these directors and actors have done then i believe the churches would be full. Just look at how many souls have been forever changed because of this show alone. Might I add..it just keeps you coming back for more. Like Dallas said..it gets to the human emotions on so many levels.
@@sutherngrace8 The churches in my area are about money. When the church door close so does the caring , love and support. Sad Then on TV so many again are about money and a big show. As I watch those shows one day I feel that GOD spoke to me , his words were : I'm not a show😔🤔
Yes, we are still just babies when born again. In spite of having a personal transformation, we still have to grow as children and then to fully mature "sons" whom He is not ashamed to call "brothers" and share the inheritance with us. We don't pop out of the spiritual womb perfect. We feel so blessed to walk with Christ and know His mind that it's easy to think we have arrived at the finish line, but we've only just picked up our cross. We still must walk from faith to faith, glory to glory, fighting the good fight,, pressing toward that mark that is so much more than we can even imagine. He is that awesome.
“Work out your salvation!” Yes, a process of daily renewing our mind! Example: Last night, I had scary thoughts because of physical pain. Negativity, fear, anger, etc. When I woke this morning, I repented for allowing those emotions to envelop my thought process, because I know dwelling in those dark places gives the enemy a foothold. I also spoke to the spirit of all such negativity to leave in the name of Jesus. Today, I feel much better. In the past, I have allowed myself to go too far with rage, anger, and hopelessness; at that point, it became an issue of depression. So, I have learned that I must renew my mind daily, fellowship with the Lord, and take captive all thoughts that are not going to lead to fruitful living. My point, we have to do what the Holy Spirit guides us to do as we work out our own salvation, and wash, rinse repeat! We are human, we will mess up again.
I greatly appreciate how you have portrayed each person. I have literally watched Jesus in the show exhibit a love I’ve never grasped and it’s brought me to tears. And it’s caused me to pray out loud,” Jesus, I want to know You like that, I want to know Your heart like that!”
Exactly how I feel. So much love it's impossible not want to get closer and get to know Him better. It's amazing, really.... Can feel His embrace, His touch...Feel so humbled and not deserving to be in His presence and at the same time not wanting to be anywhere else. Praise the Lord and so thankful for His Amazing Love, Grace and Mercy
JE SUS WENT TO DIE ON THE CROSS FOR ALL OF HUMANITY!!! LOVE THAT NO ONE, NO ONE WILL EVER DO AGAIN...PLEASE DON'T IGNORE HIS LOVE,. HE IS WITH ALL THE TIME!!
Never fails Mary's storyline always chokes me up.... I AM MARY in my mirror, I see Mary and so with that said I cry being deeply touched by the storyline. I thank you all for making me feel loved by Jesus through this show 🙂 Susan 💜
You are a new creation only see your self as who God sees you. You are not your past so walk forward in newness of Christ. Don’t let the devil play in your mind and say you are that old person. Keep moving forward! Look up the song moving forward by elevation worship. It kept me out of the past. 😁❤️
I also identify with Mary and sobbed when Jesus redeemed her in the very first episode. I also sobbed when he restored her in episode 6 after she backslid because I once was in that position. I'm so grateful for God's mercies that are new every morning
I just found The Chosen on UA-cam and watched every episode of Season 1, and then downloaded the app and watched all of Season 2. Thank you for your dedication to this amazing project; your passion and heart for sharing the heart of God is apparent in every nuance and detail. I can hardly wait to experience Season 3, and I look forward to joining with others who have paid it forward. May God continue to richly bless your work.
I appreciate Dallas' clarification concerning the episode on another UA-cam post. What was unclear at first to me was Mary's reaction before she ran away appeared to be in connection with the demon-possessed man (she held her hand to her forehead depicting the same headache she got prior to being demonized in Episode 1). And she then runs away right after Jesus casts out the demon from the man. So it appeared that Mary was running away because she was being demonized again. I did not make the connection about the Roman being a trigger for her trauma.
I love this show, and Dallas you made me cry when you read the letter. Thank you Dallas, because of the Chosen I started reading the Bible and learning more about Jesus. I'm Catholic but never was a fan of reading the Bible, but now I'm trying so hard to read it and to understand it. Many blessings
Nice but break away from Catholicism fam. They add way too much to the bible. Stuff that's not biblical. They also have too much of a hirearchy and give MEN too much power
Amen, TOTALLY! We've heard a softer, quieter voice from Yeshua so often in this series, and then suddenly this powerful shout of authority!! Makes me tear up, actually, to think He has this sort of passion towards us all, as He deals with 'the accuser' on our behalf. 💕🕊️💕🕊️
I love this show and have watched it over and over. I see myself in each of the people he comes across. I love how you did Mary and falling into her safety net when she was gripped with fear and anxiety and couldn’t see any other way in that moment. I’ve been there. As I’m sure a lot of people have. Especially when you suffer from depression or PTSD. You already have a hard time with reality and stress. Triggers just compound it more. It sends you into a spiral of self doubt and worth. So Dallas and crew, THANK YOU 🙏🏼 so much for you willingness to talk about the hard stuff. It’s real!!
episode 5 was epic!!! the moments between Jesus and John were beautiful!!! Mary being triggered and regressing was awesome...the calling of Simon only added to the entire moment of episode 5...and the beginning of the main message of Jesus begins to tie many moments together in the entire series thus far...
Also, the part about Mary was realistic! Trauma victims suffer much that people generally who have “never been there” do not understand. Mary (Liz) really portrayed what it is really like! She is actually one of my fave’s after Jesus! ❤️But, they are all awesome. I have watched every movie on Jesus I really love the Chosen!
This show only moves you closer to the Lake of Fire. The Bible is a book of truth and this is pure fiction that panders to sinners rather than calling the sinners to repentance.
God can use a movie but he will not contradict himself or His Diety. Jesus was fully God and human on earth. He doesn't need a movie to get us to move closer to him. He has His word in the Bible. His Holy Spirit draws people close to Him.
The show is beautiful, I read the Bible with my mom she’s a visual learner so when we read she gets really excited because she see’s the stories we read 🙂 Not everything‘s gonna be perfect but I’m grateful it gives you a background to the stories and I’m happy there’s a show like this that makes my mom wanna read more and we’re not wasting our time watching other things.
Most of the things people are having "issues" with about the show are things I would never think about because I know most of the show is from the writer's/director's viewpoint of what could have happened. I just enjoy their interpretation of it and enjoy every single spiritually moving scene they keep blessing our lives with!
This show makes me cry, glorify and praise the Lord throughout, the last episode of season 3 I literally weeped, my husband was looking at me all worried and asked me if I was OK, all I could manage to say to him was "I love Jesus so very much, but we didn't deserve him". This show has truly brought me closer to our Saviour. To see All He endured and did for us has brought me to my knees more than ever, and has made me open and read my Bible more than ever as well. Thank you for bringing us the greatest story of ALL time so beautifully Dallas, may the Lord continue to pour His blessings on this amazing project.
I absolutely love this show. I seriously think it is God breathed. I read my Bible and do not depend on this show as a replacement. However, this show helps me live it and imagine how it all was in real life.... I laugh out loud, I cry, I am touched beyond belief. Thank you so much all of you! God’s Blessings over all of you!
I completely agree. This show has made the Gospels come to life. I have noticed things that I have missed over and over again while reading (I did not realize Peter was married, for example!). This show points me back to Scripture and my wife and I read through the gospel accounts while watching the show. Amazing. Praise God.
I’m glad the show is encouraging you, but just remember that the Bible alone is God-breathed. It alone has no errors. This show can have many and does have a few because it’s made by fallible men. They admit to that. I haven’t seen them try to claim that it’s Scripture.
@@SlaveofChrist1 Yes, you are correct. I don't speak for C E, I think the point is that it is obvious God is central to this project, is involved, and allowing it to be successful. It definitely points people to Jesus as our Lover, Savior, and Friend. It does better justice to Scripture in my opinion than most preachers and "theologians."
Thanks for shouting out our video! The Chosen community has been such a blessing to have some really good conversations. We’ve been learning so much from episodes like this and we love every second of it!
I love all the episodes. Very tastefully done and such a blessing to the world. Thank you so much for doing it. Blessings to all who are involved and watching.
@@clouseauthecat181 How right you are, cat! A great imagination, guided by a deep love of our Savior and the Holy Spirit's guidance and comfort. We are very familiar with the Lord's words in Isaiah 52:13 through chapter 53, and a fresh look for this generation is applauded. The scene of Yeshua dancing at the wedding and making a comment very like John 5:19, [with just a little imagination!], is definitely a favorite!
Honestly, the story line that you decided to take with Mary Magdalen is so relatable. In weak moments we don't turn to the Lord and turn to our past sin. This is what the Christian life is, falling and asking for forgiveness, the Lord forgiving us and repeating the cycle. This is why ongoing conversation or constantly turning back to God is so important. :) Beautiful show, keep up the good work.
Thank you so much for going over this! I was one of those people who was quite confused to see the "Sermon prep scene" but you going over this all thoroughly, explaining your thoughts and sharing your heart with us is so beautiful. I think the Chosen will continue to make people ask questions, but I think this is a very good thing. I think this dialogue is important and that us Christians need to learn to love each other more, and understand we may have slightly different beliefs but we need to still be brothers and sisters! Thank you for all you do, praying for you, the cast and this amazing show!
Dallas, that was delivered with such clarity. I've said this before but, it warrants repeating. This show, thus far, IS ABSOLUTELY THE BEST I'VE EVER, EVER SEEN!!! Keep up the good work and blessings to you all❣🙏🤗
Dallas, I've heard you make the comment about Jesus quoting Psalm 22 on the cross ("why have you forsaken me?") several times as an example to show that he sometimes questioned and was unsure. I absolutely love the show and see God's hands all over it, and I agree with your take that he didn't always have "God goggles" on, but I think in this case you're misinterpreting the words "Why have you forsaken me?" Psalm 22 is an expression of *victory* in the midst of deep anguish, where God comes through in the end. It's a psalm expressing deep *trust* and *faith* in the Lord even when it seems all hope is lost. Psalm 22 is like that moment in an epic movie where it seems all hope has been lost and evil is just about to win, but at the last second the reinforcements arrive, the proton torpedoes hit their mark, or the eagles swoop in to rescue the heroes. Yes it is a psalm of great physical anguish but Psalm 22 is absolutely NOT a psalm of despair, abandonment or rejection. The psalm does not minimize the pain at all, but it sees the victory coming through the pain or in spite of the pain. Obviously you should check with your scholars for deeper insight but I think even a surface reading of the entire psalm reveals this. You know how you can quote one line from a movie and this instantly recalls the entire storyline? Four words: "I am your father." Or one line of Scripture: "God so loved the world." You've done it on The Chosen several times as well, where one person begins reciting a verse of Scripture and the rest of the group know exactly what that person means, and they often even recite the rest of the scripture along with them. This is what I believe Jesus was doing when he said "Why have you forsaken me?" He wasn't actually saying that he felt forsaken, but reassuring himself that he had NOT been forsaken. Plus, I think he probably only had the physical strength to recite one line out loud. But one line was enough for all the Jewish people around him to remember the rest of the words in the psalm. And what do the rest of the words say? “In you our ancestors put their trust; they trusted and you delivered them. To you they cried out and were saved; in you they trusted and were not put to shame. For he *has not* despised or scorned the suffering of the afflicted one; he *has not* hidden his face from him but has listened to his cry for help.” [emphasis mine] Jesus is telling us that, just like David, He continues to trust in the Father, even in great anguish, when everyone else has failed him. And even when it appears that God has abandoned him, Jesus knows that it's not true-the Father hears and sees him. He’s also thinking of the prophetic fulfillments in Psalm 22: “Dogs surround me, a pack of villains encircles me; they pierce my hands and my feet. All my bones are on display; people stare and gloat over me.” Jesus is reminding us that everything that is happening at that moment is going *exactly according to plan*. It's the classic movie twist where the bad guy thinks he has just won, but then the good guy smiles and says "That's exactly what I hoped you would do." It's Jesus telling the devil "You just fell into our trap. Checkmate." So the words “why have you forsaken me” are not at all the words of a man temporarily doubting his God. This is a battle cry of contempt against the overwhelming, unmasked evil before him. This is a declaration that he is indeed in great anguish, but that in killing him the enemy has unwittingly played right into his hands. It’s a triumphant cry of victory coming at great cost. If you’re still not convinced, look to the last lines of Psalm 22: “All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the Lord. Future generations will be told about the Lord. They will proclaim his righteousness to a people yet unborn: He has done it!” You and I and all of us who follow Jesus are those "people yet unborn" who proclaim the Lord's righteousness because of what Jesus did while hanging on that cross remembering the words of David. And doesn't "He has done it" sound very close to some other words Jesus spoke on the cross? Quoting Psalm 22 was NOT Jesus momentarily questioning his mission. It was instead Jesus declaring Mission Accomplished! He *has* done it. It is finished! Bless you and everyone involved in the production of The Chosen!
In other words, Jesus knew exactly what he was going through and the end of it. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last --- Revelation 22:13 I declare the end from the beginning --- Isaiah 46:10
Well said, Jesus spoke Aramaic and not Hebrew. The translation of his words from Aramic are - for this I was spare....Jesus confirming he knw why he was on the cross.
Thank you sir that was some eye opener to me I am happy that I am in the family of Christ knowing that I have a brother like you who has a revelation and has taken his time to elaborate, I pray that you continue in the Faith so that even though we never meet here on earth we shall meet in the New Jerusalem. God bless you and may He preserve your life.
To me, the more we see the truth that Yeshua became a MAN makes Him all the more amazing. Scripture says He prayed with loud crying and we know He asked for the cup He faced to be taken from Him if it were possible.( I didn't know Dallas addressed this in this vid before I wrote it! ) He understands ALL we feel and go through. The way Yeshua got tears in his eyes as he watched John walk away made me cry too. And I really appreciate how Dallas gets it that the disciples were as human and flawed as all of us are. It gives us hope!!! This series is REAL and it is so needed!!!
Dallas you are in my prayers. This has been an amazing blessing. I have seen people that are long-time Christians draw closer, read their bibles more. I have seen non-believer's hearts be softened, seeds planted. I have no doubt God is working thru this series. Thank you and may God continue to bless and guide you.
What I think is most beautiful is that this is causing people to think, to consider, to ponder... greater opportunity to bring our thoughts to the Savior, to do our own prayerful research, to develop in our understanding and connection to Jesus and His role as our Redeemer, and to deepen our love and devotion for Him. Thank you for your help with this. Thank you for spreading light to the best of your ability. Stay humble.
I have just watched the Christmas Monologues - they are absolutely riveting! So lovely too to see the actors in a different part - their memories are something else! Thank you, thank you.
Jonathan Roumi is a perfect actor playing the role of Jesus in "The Chosen ".His personality fits in, Inside-Out. Thank you, Dallas, thank you Jonathan & to all the Crew of this very amazing TV series of the Bible story. We truly appreciate your hard work.God Bless you all. Stay Safe & Healthy.
Dallas why do you constantly feel the need to defend your directorial decision. It’s your show and you are doing your best. Ignore the hate and criticism and keep making an amazing show!
So many people just want to be offended. Keep praying and filming this amazing glimpse of what may have been. Thank you for this show, it's the only one I watch. No cable or any streaming service. Hollywood is junk and I'll not watch it. I'm really glad to see Christian content that Is not cringy with either bad acting or just a reread of scripture. Again. THANK YOU DALLAS AND VID ANGEL. PRAISE GOD ALMIGHTY
Yeah we need more stuff like this. I want someone else to make a great Samson movie. As well as a David film with his whole life. Including his son who overthrew him and the son that raped his daughter.
Dallas, many thanks for the narratives to give almost everyone a road map to plausible, logical and scriptural scenes. Creative reality offers you the opportunity to take the fact that as Jesus and John the Baptist were cousins, they would have a moments together, chatting about their destinies. Same thing goes for the scenes with Jesus and the children - a beautiful picture of our Savior’s adoption of us as children of God. Freely given and with no exception. The children seeking him out for his teachings was like Nicodemus seeking the way, the truth and life (his rebirth) or redemption. You have captured scripture in the most true to life and plausible scenarios ever made. Where some disagree, it’s ok. It’s healthy in that it encourages us to read the scriptures. May the Holy Spirit continue to be you and your co-writers literary guide. Amen!
I loved the conversation with John, personally. Because if there's one thing I've learned over the years, it's that you can do the right thing, or have a certain expectation, or have the technically correct viewpoint on something, and God will still sometimes say, "You're absolutely right. But that's not what I want for you *right now*. Don't get ahead of Me, ok? Wait for MY timing." Am I saying John's timing was wrong? No. Is it possible that it was? Maybe. I'm not God. And He's the only one who knows for sure.
Mary is a fairly new Christian so these things will happen. When a baby messes their diaper do we beat them? No, we gently clean them up, and even play with them as we do it. Those of us who have experienced and come through our own mess and messes can help others going through their mess, by *remembering* this and extending love, mercy, understanding and compassion. Not condemnation. Jesus did not excuse my sin when I messed up, nor did He condemn me. He instead pointed to Himself as the antidote for my sin all in a love that made me want Him over sin. I must now point others to Him as the antidote for their sin, and extend the love that I received by helping in whatever way He would allow me to. *It is the way of the cross.* By the way, I *LOVE The Chosen* and *everthing* about it.🇨🇦
And when we look in scripture, Peter had walked with Jesus for 3 years and yet he responded to Jesus being taken away by cutting the ear off a servant. We can clearly see the way Dallas is portraying the disciples and their human flaws is very biblical because the Jews were no different in their humanity than we are. The only difference is the time and culture in which they dealt with those flaws.
I completely agree with you in your assessment of Mary, she is experiencing a situation that will trigger her or us in a wrong way and we forget to use the tools that we have learned and go back to our old way but the Holy Spirit will work to bringing us back and sometimes the Holy spirits allow us to learn a lesson till we come back on our way.JESUS forgives us and receive us back and forgives us in a gentle way if we ask for forgiveness always.
I am such a visual learner. I've been a believer for 46 years. I have been through some extremely difficult times. I have never experienced the scriptures the way the chosen has opened it up for me. I love every episode. Thank you so very much for obeying the call. Stay strong . There will always be naysayers. God has very obviously blessed.
Love the human element in this series. These were real people, not just characters taken from the pages of a book. It's the humanity of the characters that brings a reality to His story like no other films about the life of Christ that I have ever seen.
I love when you pick apart episodes like this! Your perspective makes me appreciate the show more and helps me understand. It brings me peace around the show a little more when i know everything was thought of and for deeply.
Thankyou so much Dallas ! As a born again Christian for many years, I believe that your production is being used by the Living Word to bring many souls to Christ, and many lukewarm Christians to surrender to Christ’s Lordship ! May our God be praised for what He is doing!
DAllas thank you for all you do to bring us this wonderful production. You have great passion, love, and faith that shines through with each episode and each explanation for your work and direction
That's what I love about this series. It raises questions, creates conversations, and makes you really consider events and how we interpret the bible vs life. Sin was a thing then just as much as it is today. You're here talking about it, aren't you?!
About 10 years ago I began asking Jesus if we could have movie night in Heaven. Wouldn’t it be great to break out the DVD player and watch creation from the beginning on the really big screen; see The Story and all the characters, the cultures, down thru history. See Jesus and what His life was really like here on earth. I believe The Chosen is an answer to that prayer and is providing the best glimpse of His life and the Jewish culture at that time. Thank you, Dallas. ✨🙏✨
I truly hope we get to watch the true history of our world from the very beginning, when we get to Heaven. That would be awesome. Until then, we have The Chosen to keep us occupied.
Hi Dallas, There's something I would like to share with "The Chosen" team. The other day when I saw a certain scene from the show and looked at each actor in the show, it came in my heart that even as you all act out your character roles, God/ Jesus is calling you into an intimate relationship with Himself and a deeper revelation of who He is and who you are in Him. God will continue to transform your lives through this. It is a God ordained opportunity not a random thing for each of you involved in this show. He is meeting each person individually in the team, right in midst of your working. See what He is doing in you when you perform your role. Lots of love. God bless you all! P.s. A very big thank you for making this series. Great is your reward.
Why would “Jesse” NOT talk about Jesus? His healing was the most amazing thing that ever happened to him; you have to be really cynical about human nature to think he was tattling.I liked the scene with John the Baptist b/c you can see in Jesus’ face that Jesus knew he’d never see John in this world again. The scene with Jesus deliberating over his sermon was surprising, because I always assumed Jesus’ teachings were spontaneous, but I recognize that was an assumption based on… nothing really,. Scripture hints that he repeated some of his messages in different locations, which suggests that he did plan out and memorize what he was going to say.
Yes, I had also assumed that Jesus' teachings were spontaneous, an off-the-cuff speaking of his knowledge of things...sort of like a wise-knowledgeable friend or a father would if they were having a casual talk with someone.
Fully God but also fully man. I thought it was very believable. I didn't see it as stumbling over his words, but wanting to word it just right for His audience to understand.
I have to state my strong opinion that, if Jesus was God in the flesh, then He would know what to say at exactly the right time, without having to 'rehearse' it whatsoever. This is what He taught the disciples, wasn't it? He had the greatest hotline to the Father that anyone has ever had.
@@agemoth but likewise He needed to understand what it was like for the rest of us. So it would make sense if He didn't have a 100% constant access at all moments. He had to live a mortal life, like the rest of us. He could have chosen to skip those hard parts, but if I had to guess, He wanted to be 100% authentic to what the rest of us have to go through.
I love the scene when Jesus prepares his sermon. I believe that God decided to become man with all consequences. With the risk of getting a cold or blisters on the feet, that he had to learn things and so on. Why not preparing and rehearsing a sermon? In Hebrews 5,8 we read "though he was the Son, yet LEARNED obedience by the things which he suffered" And in the Eucharistic Prayer we pray that Jesus was "equal to us in everything except sin". (Sorry for my bad english)
actually my least favorite scene. But it is not enough to keep me from loving the show. And it may be very significant to other people just like the writer above.
But then the show also shows him being omnipotent, reciting back private prayers of his disciples and knowing peoples’ entire lives and their innermost thoughts. With all that, this scene doesn’t make sense. They went too far with the human-side of Jesus angle there. That said, I am still liking the show. It doesn’t need to be perfect when there are so many other powerful moments.
Actually I change my mind after watching half this video. If we start questioning if it’s ’plausible’ John The Baptist was wrong, then we can question a lot of our faith. He says he isn’t saying John was wrong, but just putting the question out there. However, from the way he portrayed it, his mind seems pretty made up. I also read of his misunderstanding of Jesus’s “Why have you forsaken me” line, the true meaning of which I’ve heard many teachers explain since I was a kid. Another commenter has kindly explained it in detail. So, most regretfully, I must end watching this show ☹️
Thank you, Dallas. This explanation helped me to process this show. I agree with you - your logic is Biblically sound - and I also know, first hand, that a person can backslide after being redeemed. Thank you for all your hard work. This show is amazing, and I love it so much that as soon as I finish, I turn right back around and start with season 1, episode 1 all over again. Praise God!
Great deep dive into E5, Dallas! I loved it already and didn't need any explanation. The series itself and the portrayal of Christ is already transformational. However, adding all this extra commentary compels me to read, study, pray and seek Jesus all the more! God bless you and The Chosen.
I sure envy those Christians who have never sinned after meeting Jesus. I’ve never actually met any of them though. If they’re really sure they have never failed Jesus after their conversation, maybe they should double-check that with their closest friends or family. I suspect their spouse might be sble to point out a failure or two.
I’ve “met” some Christians who say they never have sinned since salvation. They are in a very dangerous place, spiritually speaking. I’ve had times in my life when I couldn’t point out any sins I was going. But as I matured, the Spirit revealed all these things I did that were actually really gross sins. It blows my mind that sone Christians are so blind to believe they are perfect. Even the apostle Paul had sin issues and he did not hide his struggle with the flesh!
listen, I have prayed and spilt my heart to my Lord, and repented only in a day or so heck in an hour I have said something, lied, swore, and i will challenge any Christian to say they have not sinned since accepting Jesus! We all have sinned and fallen short! These are the very same people who judge, need to remember, gossip is right next to murder in Galatians,, Ephesians, Corinthians! Yet they love to run and gossip about a sister or brother in Christ! They are the epitome of why people of the world want nothing to do with Christians. I Love my Jesus, and i know that He and the Holy Spirit are my advocates, and yes I sin, I try not to, sometimes I can, sometimes I cant!
I have met many "Christians" over the years who declare they don't sin, as they gossip, slander, lie, criticize others (i.e pastors, deacons, Sunday school teacher's, bosses, neighbor's etc. Some even go so far as to claim, from scripture that they have not sinned or that GOD does not deal with them in the chastisement sense Paul speaks of "whom the LORD Loves HE chastens" and the chastisement is not pleasant etc. Well those persons admit thet are the "b" word when they say they are never chastened by the LORD in the sense of a spanking.🤷🏽 All the while hating brother/sister etc., for whatever reason refusing to be corrected.
@Myrrh Solace Haha, I don't believe there's such a thing as a Christian who's never sinned after meeting Jesus, because perfection is something we have to strive for our whole life. Every single Christian sins just like non-Christians sin, because we all have the same fallen nature. (I am Catholic however, so I believe that Mary -- aside from Christ, of course, who is both God and Man and perfection itself -- is the only human who was completely perfect, but as we believe, that is solely because God applied the redemptive graces of Christ's Passion to her ahead of time and in a unique way because Christ needed to enter the world through a completely pure vessel, as he is Perfection.)
I love how as views, are challenged to research scripture by these stories. I truly respect how The Chosen is produced. I may not always totally agree @ first, but I am moved to study & then listen to your explanations. Faith is dynamic... not static! Thank you for encouraging the viewers to be open minded & remove the blinders from our eyes.
I’ve been describing this series as “Gospel, the back story”. Turns some off. Attracts others. Delights me the way you’ve handled it. My wife doesn’t like the colloquial speech. I do. I haven’t spotted any anachronistic phrases yet, so keep it up. One of my favorite parts thus far is the story of the Good Samaritan told from the back side. Dropped my jaw that did. I’d mention it teared me up except every episode thus far contains a segment that makes me misty. Suffice it to say I eagerly await the release of each new episode. Re. Mary’s “relapse.” Prior to the Baptism of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost NONE of the disciples had spiritual resources to draw on other than their own. Peter denied Jesus three times for crying out loud. Mary’s relapse is pretty thin gruel by comparison.
I agree with your description of it being a telling of the backstory. I really like that aspect of it because it helps me to better understand the ongoing narrative and dialogue and such. I can kind of relate to your wife's reaction to the colloquial speech, but I'm not offended by it. It just kind of catches me off guard from the way that I usually hear the speech being said in most other Biblical movies. 😁
I really love the passion you have behind this. Just wanted you to know no matter how many people are offended or point out discrepancies or question you, there are many including me who are touched by the show and have related with the characters at different point in life. GOD BLESS YOUR WORK.
I love this "Deep Dive" debrief of the episodes with Dallas. I enjoy hearing about both the technical and creative processes that go into an episode, especially how Dallas handles character motivation, script decisions, and cool on-the-spot direction. So fun.
@@wheelerpat8 I think it's that I do not expect The Chosen to act as Scripture. That said, and from a spiritual perspective, I deeply appreciate it when Dallas's Biblical vision and my own jive; it's gratifying. My comments above we're more from a creative's point of view, and that TC as a media-specific creative endeavor, requiring techniques and directorial decisions based on the limitations and dictates of that media. There is something akin to a "historical novel" going on here, a drama based on historic events. While I understand that Dallas's subject is not a simple historic figure but rather the Son of God and all the weight that entails, I still appreciate that I am seeing his vision through a film maker'sfascinating
I think your take on this show is awesome. The dialogue, the plausibility, the humanity of the characters, everything is so well done. I am loving it, rewatching as often as I can ❤😊
Keep going! It should be obvious from episode 1 of season 1 that you are building on Scripture, but clearly expanding beyond. As a Pastor, I love this series, and find it the most moving portrayal of the Gospels.
From a nonbeliever to a believer with the help of the Chosen. This is a blessed show . Amen 🙏
That's amazing, I praise God for saving you!
In Jesus' name be blessed and encourageed Amen!
Welcome to the KINGDOM!
Hallelujah!! Thats amazing! God bless you
Praise God!
Welcome to the family!!!!!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻❤️❤️❤️
I have pretty much binged "the chosen" for last 24hrs, I'm 43yo,6ft 250lb truck driver, I have cried like a colicky infant lol absolutely love it!! Thank you all! Yeshua Hamashiach!!!!!
❤❤❤
That is evidence of how great the love of the Father is for you! I rejoice with you!
We love you Jordan, you are a man with an open heart willing to find a world of love and forgiveness by all.
I weep at every one! God bless you.
May the Lord bless you and keep you....
(the blessing I have given to my children for the past 25 years)
Loved the scene between Jesus and John the Baptist!!!!
Amen!
Sanctification is a life long process my friend. The main key to holiness is using your best efforts to improve while seeking more knowledge. Reading more scripture and praying more will get us closer to God and strengthen our relationships with him.
This in turn will increase our discernment.
🥺🥺 God bless you
Amen🙏🏾God is great
God bless you, ma'am.
His love is everlasting 🥰😍❤️ you don't want to sin after He gets your heart❤️❤️❤️
I am just a fellow who asks through Christ; Father, lean upon this child of your and give her peace. Amen.
yeah!!!!
Blessings. God is great
so do i,
I was totally sold out to God for years. I then became a raging alcoholic for 10 years. 4 years sober now. YOU CAN BACKSLIDE!! I’m so thankful that He never left me alone.
Yes, I'm a recovering drug addict. (Substance Abuser) I have 18 months clean and I can totally relate to this. Thanks for sharing! 🙏❤💪☝
Congrats I'm 3 years clean from heroin and I went back to my Catholic faith, praise God!!
@@bshiv9854 congrats!
Jesus will never leave you nor forsake you. He will stick closer than a brother. Amen.🙏🏽🙌🏽.
Wow! Congrats guys!
That moment when John shouted "Yeah!" still cracks me up. Got to be one of my favorite scenes.
I also liked hearing John say yeah!
Mine too!!!!!
Definitely a loud Yes, for me!
Same! I just wished we would have seeing a bit more of him.
How painful and lonely it is to be backsliden, and how difficult it is to even share that it even happened, but it can’t be treated like something that isn’t possible to happen at all, because it does
❤❤❤
I so, so, so related with the relapse scene
I relapse all the time and its not because I'm trying to hurt anybody. I'm not perfect but I feel like when I'm not people will hate me
@hyperchord please don't feel that people will hate you.
I cry every episode at some point! This show has changed my life.🙏🏻💙🙏🏻
Praise God as He continues & thank you sooo much for sharing this. It was the smile of the day. See you sometime.....
The Chosen has changed all out lives!
Jesus doing God's work from above!😊❤😊❤
It's changed all our lives! Jesus at work! 😊
I identified with that scene of Mary. You have no idea how much The Chosen has done for my faith. God bless you.
I can identify also. Thank you Jesus for never letting go of us. Thank you Dallas 😊
@@margaretgrosskreuz8687
There is nothing especially special in identifying with fictional characters.
I'm glad you came back from you're issues, and realized his unconditional love ❤. Everyone is complaining about Mary backsliding and its ridiculous.
Peter denied Christ. But people think Mary could not have a moment. Jesus forgives. He never walks away.
Well said.
Didn't all women have their "moment" when Eve committed the very first sin by allowing herself to be seduced in false promises of godhood? As if a creature stupid enough to be deceived could be a god of any kind... the irony.
@DiscipleDave DotCom exactly
Sorry but it didn’t work for me. All the hanging out is starting to get on my nerves. Jesus has to practice his sermon?? Nah
I agree.
Me too
Absolutely!!
That could be a bad thing
Probably true. The only thing I might be confused about is this. Did the director say Allah? For some reason I felt like he said something that sounded like that false Muslim god when he was discussing the training that one of the characters had.
I truly feel God’s hand is on this production. So well done, so human, so healing. We are all blessed by this , thank you for answering yes when called.
I agree! ❤️
Amen!
Erik, I really like your comments. That is exactly how I feel about the Chosen.
Yeah, affirming Mormonism, great job Dallas! smh
Dallas I AGREE 💯‼️
I love that you are “ fleshing out” these people from Scripture… giving us their back stories. ( He teases ME so I speak from EXPERIENCE)
There’s a time to be serious about holiness and repentance and sin and the job at hand… And there’s a time to just ENJOY Him and His company and I think you are perfectly capturing that!

DO YOU FOLKS UNDERSTAND THAT CATHOLICISM IS WHAT JESUS CHRIST( CHRISTIANITY)
ESTABLISHED IN THE YEAR 1?
Thank you for this. Very honest.

The guy playing Nicodemus is one of my favorite in the show so far. I love that he is coming to Jesus as an older character as apposed to the others who are around Christ's age. Can't wait to see him and Saint Joseph of Aremathia together on screen!
Oh , that just broke my heart.
1. I loved hearing the commentary on the episode! Very interesting to hear from a directors POV
2. John’s “Yes!” after the deliverance of the demon was 💯🤣👏🏼
That’s how it is. Being a follower of Jesus doesn’t mean we are transformed completely and automatically it’s a process. God never deserts us.

Absolutely. I learn so much when I listen to Dallas deep diving. And I love his heart and passion for telling the greatest story without compromise.

Dallas affirms Mormonism, are you aware of that?
I personally love the jokes Jesus says and all the truly human aspects that the Chosen shows. Thank you Dallas for stepping up and doing this show regardless of what many people think. We are all different and I’m so glad we are!! How boring would our world be if we all always agreed lol. I love this app and all of the cast. Thank you so much!!!!!
Humanizing Jesus is what makes it so good! Falling in love with Jesus all over again!

Josh, Thank you for sharing. See you tonight for Episode 6! :)
Agree Josh, it is exceedingly BEAUTIFUL!!!
Amen Josh. Well said 💯
I appreciate Dallas Jenkins’ heart and him sharing it with us.
That was one of my favorite lines. " its not much of a redemption if you could lose it in a day"
We all have struggles but substance abuse is one of the hardest.
God Bless

Very true!

Then on TV so many again are about money and a big show.

Yes, I love that character. I have a son on the autism spectrum and it is really true to life.
I agree 100%. That guy does Mathew so well. So amazing.
All I can say is Thank you Dallas for getting us more and more closer to the Lord through your show.
Mary Magdalene's change in this episode hit home for me at the exact time I needed it, thank you.

God can use anything..He used Israels disobedience to bring forth salvation for the world, doesnt make Israels disobedience ok.
This show only moves you closer to the Lake of Fire. The Bible is a book of truth and this is pure fiction that panders to sinners rather than calling the sinners to repentance.

I’m glad the show is encouraging you, but just remember that the Bible alone is God-breathed. It alone has no errors. This show can have many and does have a few because it’s made by fallible men. They admit to that. I haven’t seen them try to claim that it’s Scripture.

I absolutely love the show and see God's hands all over it, and I agree with your take that he didn't always have "God goggles" on, but I think in this case you're misinterpreting the words "Why have you forsaken me?"
Psalm 22 is an expression of *victory* in the midst of deep anguish, where God comes through in the end.
For he *has not* despised or scorned the suffering of the afflicted one; he *has not* hidden his face from him but has listened to his cry for help.” [emphasis mine]
Jesus is telling us that, just like David, He continues to trust in the Father, even in great anguish, when everyone else has failed him. And even when it appears that God has abandoned him, Jesus knows that it's not true-the Father hears and sees him.
He’s also thinking of the prophetic fulfillments in Psalm 22:
“Dogs surround me, a pack of villains encircles me; they pierce my hands and my feet. All my bones are on display; people stare and gloat over me.”
Jesus is reminding us that everything that is happening at that moment is going *exactly according to plan*. It's the classic movie twist where the bad guy thinks he has just won, but then the good guy smiles and says "That's exactly what I hoped you would do." It's Jesus telling the devil "You just fell into our trap. Checkmate."
So the words “why have you forsaken me” are not at all the words of a man temporarily doubting his God. This is a battle cry of contempt against the overwhelming, unmasked evil before him. This is a declaration that he is indeed in great anguish, but that in killing him the enemy has unwittingly played right into his hands.
It’s a triumphant cry of victory coming at great cost.
If you’re still not convinced, look to the last lines of Psalm 22:
“All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the Lord.
Future generations will be told about the Lord. They will proclaim his righteousness to a people yet unborn:
He has done it!”
You and I and all of us who follow Jesus are those "people yet unborn" who proclaim the Lord's righteousness because of what Jesus did while hanging on that cross remembering the words of David.
I 100% agree When Jesus quoted Psalm 22 he fulfilled prophecy amen
In other words, Jesus knew exactly what he was going through and the end of it.
I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last --- Revelation 22:13
I declare the end from the beginning --- Isaiah 46:10

Thank you for your help with this. Thank you for spreading light to the best of your ability.
Stay humble.
I have just watched the Christmas Monologues - they are absolutely riveting! So lovely too to see the actors in a different part - their memories are something else! Thank you, thank you.
My favorite scene was seeing Jesus running toward Simon to save him from a satanic attack. I imagine him doing that for believers everyday.
Amen!
Thank you Dallas, for taking time to explain! I learned a LOT from the Chosen and from this kind of videos when you walk us through episodes!
Well to be Frank.... it's not his show. It's God's show..... he's like God's P.R.O or proxy.💁🏽♀️
@@favourtom4413 he’s the director. It’s his show
We are NOTHING without Jesus! It's all about HIM ❤️❤️🔥🙏
@@RachelXKnight666 oh... ok...
I get what you mean.
I think he is just clarifying his stance for new comers especially.
Amen brother! Dittos to Dallas!
Wait for MY timing."
Am I saying John's timing was wrong?
*It is the way of the cross.*
By the way, I *LOVE The Chosen* and *everthing* about it.🇨🇦
And when we look in scripture, Peter had walked with Jesus for 3 years and yet he responded to Jesus being taken away by cutting the ear off a servant. We can clearly see the way Dallas is portraying the disciples and their human flaws is very biblical because the Jews were no different in their humanity than we are. The only difference is the time and culture in which they dealt with those flaws.
Thank you so much for sharing your comments and God bless you...I'm sure you're helping others who have been through this kind of experience.
Exactly Thank You
I love when you pick apart episodes like this! Your perspective makes me appreciate the show more and helps me understand.
It brings me peace around the show a little more when i know everything was thought of and for deeply.
The sermon prep is important! Thanks for including it!!😊
Thankyou so much Dallas !
Neat idea!
I truly hope we get to watch the true history of our world from the very beginning, when we get to Heaven. That would be awesome. Until then, we have The Chosen to keep us occupied.
Yes I imagined this as child our life stories on the big screen
Thats an interesting thought, I never considered it before!
Hi Dallas,
There's something I would like to share with "The Chosen" team.
I love every part of this series, it’s passionately powerful, and it’s such a great blessing! Please continue because it’s a blessing!
Repeat didn't mean memorize
I LOVED episode 5 and I love how Dallas defends his vision with humility and conviction. So looking forward to episode 6!
So, most regretfully, I must end watching this show ☹️
I love when John goes “Yeah💪🏽” lol 😂
I know me too...
I felt the power in that "yeah"
I replayed it twice.🤣🤣🤣
Lol me too!loved that one!🙌🏼
Me too!!
Me too! I laughed so hard!
Dallas, you are a strong and profound man because you are not afraid to show emotions!! God bless you!!
We are all flawed individuals saved by God's grace. Not one of us is perfect, if you think so you're only fooling yourself.
"yEAAH."
- John the Baptist, probably
That was one of my latest favorite lines! That and "you have a Zealot?" Dry humor is the funniest to me!!
"Not too Shabby"

This show is hilarious it makes it all the better
😂😂😂
This is exactly right.
I experienced a God rush when John stated' "It's about to get real."
I love what you are doing! It's gives life to the Bible for me.
So fun.
You don’t think it’s the antithesis of The Chosen? Interesting.
