I'll get into trading if PoE 2 decides to leave 2010 behind and have trading be conducted in game. What an archaic and dumb system in an otherwise pretty great game so far. Crafting is also atrocious and the lack of an in-game loot filter is absolutely ridiculous.
I agree with all your points tbh. Im just so used to the trading as i have played poe 1 for nearly a decade. But looking at it from a new players perspective i understand completely. It takes a bit to get into but if you give it a chance it's really not too bad. Games like diablo 4 and even warframe use similar methods and theirs are arguably even worse. It's hard to please everyone. In game loot filters will come soon even for console. Its Early access still and all. Same with crafting. Crafting in poe 1 is absolutely amazing and deep with so many fun interactions that feel impactful and rewarding. Im SURE poe 2 will get there in time as well. This skeleton is a pretty great foundation but it clearly needs A LOT of love and time yet. As far as early accesses go this is one of the best ones ive experienced personally. Im hopefull given 9 more months the game should be quite amazing and the funding from the early access supporters should really help towards making this game what we all are hoping for it to become. Trading for sure has its pros and cons tho. The alternative auction house style trading is too easy to automate and has its own series of issues with botting and RMT. :/ It's not as easy to fix as people might suggest.
@@OmniCrossV1 I can't believe they didn't use the console version of trading from Poe 1. It was amazingly simple and didn't even need to meet the person to conduct a trade.
Well as a buyer I take it to the next level. I look at what's good in exalt pricing and in divines 1-2 values and when I find the one I want I send them a message. And ask them if they sell for 60-70 ex if they listed for 1 divine and most of the time they will sell to me. Also worth noting if it's been sitting for over 6hours or days and obviously no one has been interested they will bite. And ya got yourself exactly what u wanted at a discount.
The problem with trading is it's too many steps especially for console players you have to exit the game for the console to bring up the trade site search fast enough so you don't get logged out for inactivity then hope the player selling answers the whisper then party up then warp to player then do the trade. . .this is way too much time spent not playing the game the trade board was better you find your item IN GAME send your currency the seller accepts or declines the offer then without ever having to party up or leave the area your in or any of the other stupid steps the items were sent to each player its so much more simple and needs to be brought back in

Really nice work here, I am curious, what percent of the player base do you think is trading in divines? It's hard to wrap my head around this market and you might not be concerned with people who aren't(trading at the divine level) Hope real life is treating you better and your son is doing great.
@Duckowski i would say only the top 5-10% of players are trading regularly in divines. I would also guess nearly 30% of all players still haven't made it through the campaign yet. Just a guess obviously no way of knowing for sure but based off discords and reading comments in both my videos and other youtubers comment sections the game is quite difficult and time-consuming for the majority of players. Which is exactly why RMT is currently such a huge problem, and the economy is an absolute shit show. :( Game is hard. everything gate kept and marked up to unobtainable unrealistic values to make you more likely to spend real cash to just buy access to an otherwise super grindy and difficult endgame... its a shame but what can be done? Lol sorry i peppered in some extra crap rather then a basic 1 line answer. I'm bored at almost 2am... :D

I have been playing a lot, I can't imagine the average player being able to put in the time to get to the divine market level, I suspect half of the players haven't even traded yet. I think this is a great start to a great game but they do have some work to do. I also think your 5%-10% estimate needs a decimal point shift to the left but who knows, I'd love to see some internal analytics on this one.
@Duckowski it's only because of the sheer level of RMT currently i believe the % is so high. Once selling and obtaining items = irl money and actual making a living then people resort to a lot of shady tactics. Hacking accounts, scamming, duplicating glitches, market manipulation, price fixing etc. RMT has ruined this games launch imo. SSF is my obvious road moving. I'm personally just waiting for GGG's huge list of nerfs and buffs before deciding what I want to roll first. Trade League with all the dupes and exploiting and genuine map and speed hacking... the economy is ruined until a true economic reset. Add on top there isn't an actual proper exalt and divine orb sink implemented In the game I can't imagine what the prices of stuff will be in another month. If you're new, good luck being able to afford anything until you are able to make it to maps pretty much SSF OR RMT. Which is what got us to this point in the first place. Greedy people is why we can't have nice things.
@Duckowski thinking harder tho I think you're right. I think realistically, 1% or less. 1 in 100 average players seems reasonable to me. I think my 5 to 10% is due to making content and who I'm surrounded by and the vocal minority of youtube commenter's. Kind of warped my perception a bit. I have to remind myself that people who actively go to youtube for information are already in the top 10% of players. The VAST majority of people are just chilling playing a video game on their couch for an hour or 2 after work. Sucks to think I'm a bit out of touch. 🤔

We are game testing and none of this matters but the systems we are playing. I expected this market to build and crash and it has to do it a couple of more times to weed out RMT and I'm not a rarity hater but it needs adjustment, along with move speed. As game designers GGG should know better than to brick 90% of drops. And I just got maaintenanced out of my 10th map, son of a...

Watch this! (I try and explain why people aren't selling their items. How you can have an easier time finding better deals for cheaper prices. A helpful extension to make price checking easier and faster. A method of pricing your items to make the process less daunting and a bit more simplistic.) Zero clickbait imo.
