i like metallica and everyone told me you hate megadeth if you like metallica so i started listening out of curiosity and these guys slam.

Dave Mustaine, the founder of MEGADETH, was one of the original members for METALLICA. They kicked him out because of his addiction to drugs. Dave would later go on to say that doing so saved his life.

By "guitar parts" I mean basic chord flow. For example most ppl don't realize, that Sweet Child O' Mine and Knockin' On Heaven's Door is almost totally the same song, there is only 1 chord difference. True, they paly them with different rythm, and play the chords in different ways, but still the same chords.
Every band have their usual chords they use in their songs. Megadeth and Metallica use pretty similar main chord flow. But it's something you can't know unless you're a musican.

I think if you like Megadeth and don't like Metallica, there must be some more reason than the music itself, cuz by music they are pretty much the same genre. They are both great bands with great guitar solos, great drums and great lyrics.

Dave DID NOT create Ride The Lightning.. he created Four Horsemen, Jump in the Fire and Phantom Lord. The only thing that was used in Ride The Lightning by Dave is just the spider chord.

You still didn't answer the question as to why this is for children. I respectfully disagree. Mustaine is hardly the greatest guitarist in the world however he has worked with some great guitar players in the past like Chris Poland(I saw him live not too long ago. VERY good jazz fusion player), and most recently Chris Broderick, who has a degree in classical guitar.
Doesn't really sound like kids stuff to me.

Music is subjective, people also like Merzbow, 99% of people you show that "artist" to will think he's shite, just like a metal fans now thinks Metallica are. It's nothing to do with popularity, Megadeth are popular and have sold millions of records. They don't use similar elements at all. Megadeth are virtuosos, Metallica have been a fisher price band since the 90's, get over yourself. You're wrong, you have no ear for music at all, stop commenting on things that are beyond your understanding.

You forgot to mention the "Metallica is too popular" part. True, Metallica got out of it's style after the 90's. And you can't say that a music is bad, cuz it's subjective. And like it or not, this 2 band uses a lot of musical elements that are very similar to eachother.

Ahem, as any "musician" should know there are more chords than any human being could remember, most songs use the same 20 or so chords in various orders (called progression, not flow). Any "musician" would tell you, a lot of songs have the same chord progression, example; War by Burzum and Hand in Blood by Bullet for My Valentine. Any "musician" will also tell you most of the sound comes from your gear and your ability. Hammet has been impersonating Dave for 30 years. Stop. Just stop.

When people go to a Megadeth song and say Metallica is better what do they think is gonna happen? Go say that in a Metallica song not here.
I find those two songs gay, especially Nothing Else Matters. Their other ballads are way better (Fade To Black, Sanitarium, One, My Friend Of Misery and even Unforgiven II).

@peak199 I know what song your talking about and I would be surprised to find out that you have the minority opinion on that subject. As far as I can tell most people find that particular song pretty juvenile and lame. That's mustaines problem, while he can write some decent lyrics, a lot of his song writing is pretty cringe worthy, along with some of his vocals.
