Yeah. 80s/90s both had that. Even late 70s. Especially around Christmas time. From the late 70s to 90s sometimes had a lot of the same tv shows on still, some of the same commercials. Things just felt the best things ever will be. Hard to explain.
I think each generation has that same feeling around their memories and unique toys and music and shows. Every generation seems to think that the things they experienced when they were kids were the best, because of the happy memories associated with them. It’s probably not 100% across the board, but in general.
My husband and I started a tradition last year of buying our favorite childhood toys. Last year I got him some Star Wars toys, and he got me a Cabbage Patch 😊.
I remember getting my cabbage patch kid. She was one of my favorite Christmas gifts. Starbrite, Pound Puppies, Strawberry Shortcake, My Little Pony, and Care Bears were all great gifts. Times have changed, my daughter has no idea how cool the 80’s really was.
Yes! She did! 🍓 It was , for me, wonderful to grow up in the 1980’s (I was born in’77). Thanks for this video, it was a bittersweet trip down memory lane!
Came across your video and really enjoyed it! Subscribed too! I had a lite brite and a Rubik's cube and we had an Atari too! Those were the good old days! I couldn't get the Rubik's cube solved and took it apart and put it back together. Later, I solved it without taking it apart . Thanks for the memories!
I think I got pretty much everything I could ever want from that era in my adult toy collector’s life, but last Christmas was especially wonderful and magical and “gifty” for me!🎅🏻🎁🎄🌲😊
I remember how EXTREMELY popular the Cabbage Patch Kids were back in the 80s. My mom couldn't find/afford to buy one from me, so she had a neighbor make a bootleg doll for me for Christmas. She told me mine was a "special" doll that came from a far away strawberry patch. It was sooooo ugly LOL 😂😂😂
I have a huge love for the 90's❤❤❤❤ I was a kid in 80's and I enjoyed that very much but the 90's really hold a special place for me in my heart😊 our family moved to Florida in 1990 so I am pretty sure that is why I have a thing for the 90's😊 80's were great tho!!!

You're number 20 on the list should've been much closer to #1. The phenomenon behind them and the demand were insane. They started the must-have toy craze that continues today. Parents fighting over them in store because millions of children had them on their Christmas list for Santa. I was one of those kids and the story of how I got mine for Christmas in 1984 was a miracle. My mom entered a contest at a store that gave away 50 of them. She had looked everywhere for one leading up to that and had no luck because they were sold out everywhere.
Blossom MLP is the first toy I ever remember receiving as a child. She was my favorite, I took care of her until I was 16 years old and I passed her onto my little sister and that was a mistake because she cut her hair off and scribbled with marker all over her. 😢😢 why did I even bring this up! Poor Blossom I’m so sorry!
I remember all these, but I'm disappointed that rainbow brite or spirograph wasn't included. They were very popular in the 80's as well. I even remember there being a toy war between strawberry shortcake and rainbow brite.
🐶 Pound Puppies ❤ I saw these at Target last year. Those need a comeback! What a way to support dog adoption, proper care, and hopefully educate the youngest.
Are pounds still a thing, though? I don't remember much from the series other than they were always trying to evade The Dog Catcher....which isn't really a thing anymore. We have shelters and Animal Control, but it's not exactly the same as it was depicted on Pound Puppies or Lady and the Tramp. How would they update that to fit modern times? I was super excited to see her again when I was in Wal-Mart a couple months ago! T-shirts, dolls, little figures of Starlite, Twink and some Color Kids .....in retrospect, I'm sure much of the modern LGBT community would have loved 80s Shera and Rainbow Brite 😅 lots of rainbows and "twink" (I'm not bashing anyone. But like....can anyone look at 80s Bow and his rainbow eared owl friend on Shera and tell me he wouldn't fit right in at Pride? 😂)
I'm surprised that no one ever mentions Rose Petal Place, anymore. Remember those? They were dolls that were inspired by flowers, and had floral-sounding names, plus pretty dresses and flower-shaped hats. They all had different personalities, and abilities. I think they were scented, too. They had an animated TV special, and a series of books. Another long-forgotten 80s toy was Star Fairies. They all had different outfits, and a star on their clothes. Cabbage patch, rubics cube, NES, my little pony, Care Bears, garbage pail kids (still have some) pound puppies, Atari, strawberry shortcake, Simon, Fisher price little people, lite brite. All my toys
I used to have a He-man toothbrush holder. I can still remember what he said 😂 "I'm He-man, I'm strong as can be, I brush my teeth with regularity. Once in the morning, once at bedtime. Does anyone remember My Buddy and Kid Sister. I was so happy when I got one as a kid. I had the My Buddy because Kid Sister did not come out until after. Still have him put away.
I was really into the original She-Ra back in the day. Loved those toys. I still have an unopened Cabbage Patch Kid doll. I wanted a Lite Bright, but I didn't have one. Perfection, Speak n Spell. I liked GI Joe but I didn't have any of the toys. And I spent an insane amount of time playing Atari. Those were some great times.

My brother had Teddy Ruxpin and Grubby (I had Talking Mother Goose, also from World of Wonder). We got a Sega Genesis as kids and my brother had Game Boys (I eventually got the previous ones after he upgraded). I still have my three baby Gen 1 MLPs. I have some Gen 4s as well which are a similar size.
A Cabbage Patch doll was the one toy I wanted. Why is it last place!? It's the best one! I liked My Little Pony, She-Ra, Care Bears, Pound Puppies, & Strawberry Shortcake too. I had Garbage Pail Kids cards. I had both NES & Atari. Simon was really popular when I was a kid. I had a Lite-Brite. Born '77 FYI.
I was born in 1986 so these toys weren’t popular anymore by the time the 1990s rolled around. I do remember seeing a Teddy Ruxpin in a Sears Wishbook and wanting him for Christmas when I was four years old. I only ever had one My Little Pony that actually belonged to me but I didn’t play with her much. Lite Brite was a popular one in my house all four of us kids played with it a lot and the second one that we got.
Do you know where they got the name cabbage patch kids from? The real cabbage patch kids were taking from our hidden history during the days of tartaria! That is very interesting to research for sure.
I had a care bear. It was pink, with 2 hearts on the belly, called "Love a lot" I also had strawberry shhortcake cologne, which was pretty nasty smelling.
I remember all of them. My sister and I collected My Little Pony. To me none of these toys needed to be changed. I still have my Rainbow Brite doll. I don't like the changes. Anything similar and close to the original is awesome.
is it just me or does the 80s add aesthetic appear way more warm and personal than the modern aesthetic.
Yeah. 80s/90s both had that. Even late 70s. Especially around Christmas time. From the late 70s to 90s sometimes had a lot of the same tv shows on still, some of the same commercials. Things just felt the best things ever will be. Hard to explain.

You're sitting on a landmine. Big money!
I remember them all I had a pound purry
A Cabbage Patch doll was the one toy I wanted. Why is it last place!? It's the best one! I liked My Little Pony, She-Ra, Care Bears, Pound Puppies, & Strawberry Shortcake too. I had Garbage Pail Kids cards. I had both NES & Atari. Simon was really popular when I was a kid. I had a Lite-Brite. Born '77 FYI.
I was a teenager in the 1980's, my younger siblings had some of these toys
I still have my original cabbage patch doll from 1982.
Cherry Merry Muffin doll when flipped inside out became a cupcake
Coleco cabbage patch kids came out in 1983 NOT 1982. Also, a lot of your footage is from the 90’s and 2000’s editions

Xmas 1986.
My daughter had a cabbage patch kid
Do you know where they got the name cabbage patch kids from? The real cabbage patch kids were taking from our hidden history during the days of tartaria! That is very interesting to research for sure.
I had the Speak and Read, but only the original cartridge.
Was the Nintendo DS modeled from one of the game and watch when I seen the Japanese gentleman flipping one open it looked like the design of a DS?
i brought my nephew tedy ruxbin in 1998
I was VERY disappointed when I finally got a Lite Brite as an adult. My friend has one as a kid, and I WANTED one.
I had a care bear. It was pink, with 2 hearts on the belly, called "Love a lot" I also had strawberry shhortcake cologne, which was pretty nasty smelling.
Anybody remember Voltron and Jem
I remember all of them. My sister and I collected My Little Pony. To me none of these toys needed to be changed. I still have my Rainbow Brite doll. I don't like the changes. Anything similar and close to the original is awesome.
My little ponies got me through some hard times as a kid
Simon and Merlin electronic games😊
I had a cabbage patch kid it look creepy in the dark with their eyes lol
The Rubix cube proved that some Boy's between the age of 7 and 14 have a superior ability when it comes to 3d puzzles
