My mom used to wash and save the aluminum pie pans from pot pies we ate. She'd bake mini apple 🍎 and cherry 🍒 pies. We'd take them in our school lunches. My classmates were so jealous! I miss those.
He knows he’s definitely way older than most of us. They do that because they want controversy they need comments they want the algorithm they want the money that goes with all the attention on their video so when they do something silly like pronounce margarine wrong, they’re hoping people leave a comment they don’t care what kind of comment we leave. They just want comments so most of these videos you’re gonna hear a word mispronounced and they do it deliberately. Most of the time I just laugh at what they come up with.
But, there again a lot of the items still are being sold and made by manufacturers doesn’t mean they are necessarily as popular as they once were! 23:51
Candy cigarettes are still around in US, Tang still here too, easy cheese as well, moon pies still here too, pot pies still around, dunkaroos still here, keep salad still made, Hawaiian Punch still around, cheese balls have popsicles and cream sicles have them too, tv dinners still big in America. Ring pops still big amongst kids in America. At this point i stopped commenting-you didn't do research many of these are still around in the United States!!!!!!!!!
These treats may be available in some areas, but they are not widely available as they were back in the day. That was the premise of this video. You are being to critical.
He did say some that are no longer made anymore, he did say that! But, he didn’t say that about the ones that are still being made by the manufacturers but, the popularity is not like it once was on some of them!
I agree with you, they arent gone. Also, the title of the video says faded into history. Which means gone. Also, there are several where he specifically says "NO longer available" or "discontinued" for items that aren't gone nor did they ever cease to exist.
No, not all of them are still available and he stated that to the ones that aren’t! But, he didn’t say every single thing is, he’s talking about Shake & Bake as, I was writing this comment and, he still said, it was being made and, now under a different brand! And, the things that the manufacturers are still making and, sold in stores aren’t as necessarily as popular as they once were, open up your ears and listen because, it’s clear you aren’t! 1:36
I am very confused by this video. The title is famous snacks that have faded into history, leaving one to think that the snacks in this video have long since been discontinued. But, having traveled quite a bit at least in the US, I find this video to be 50/50. It did not specify a specific region/country but pretty much all of these are strictly catered to the US (you can tell by the packaging and advertising the simpsons clip, the NASA advertising ect) That being said, pretty much all of these are still widley available in the states (Candy cigarettes (some have been relabeled as just candy sticks), Tang, Ring pops, moon pies, easy cheese just to name a few) are all still very much easly available within the states. It did list some items that actually are discontinued, (the teenage mutant ninja turtle ceral, chiffon margarine, teenage mutant ninja turtles pudding pies, PB max candy bars, hubba bubble bubble jug ect ) Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the nostalgia and I wouldn't go as far as to call it click bait, it did include discontinued flavors of some of the items and how they have changed the advertising/branding and recipe/ingredients over the years and for me, that bit is where most of the confusion happens. It's still a very much enjoyable video but perhaps a title such as snacks from our childhood or something of that nature would have been better suited and more specific to its content.
The title is misleading. Many of these items have not faded into history. They sold everywhere currently. I buy many of these items today especially candy cigarettes and Tang
Yes, but, a lot of places you still can’t buy them, I know this cause, they are one of my favorites! The candy company that once made them went out of business and, the same company that made them made the Valentine hearts and, if you remember the first year the company was went out of business, there was none to be found! Another candy company brought them out and, still make those same treats! Mallo Cups, you can buy at Cracker Barrel for instance, but, you’re not going to necessarily be able to find them at your local Walmart or grocery store! 34:15
Yeah, deviled eggs are ate as snacks! They now are sold in restaurants as appetizers and, apparently appetizer is a light snack you might eat to hold you over before meal time! Shake and Bake depends on what you’re using it for! 46:54
If certain things are no longer made, he said that but, he didn’t say every single one but, the ones that still are that means that they are not near as popular as they once were! 1:00:00
In my area, Twinkies didn't disappear due to bankruptcy. There was a strike that shut down Hostess. The so-called return of the their treats is sad. NONE of them are the same. I miss Ding Dongs as they were before.
Im really confused by most of these. They aren't gone. Banana splits are available at any ice cream place and many diners around the US. Chex mix is still available everywhere. Glass soda bottles are still available. I could list tons more, but seriously, I love videos like this, but claiming they have "faded into history" is quite frankly, incorrect. While yes, they are snacks that are gone or have changed, there are plenty that still exist and never went anywhere.
Those _"cigarette candies"_ are absolutely atrocious, and good thing they were banned. _"Tang",_ I believe, is what came to israel under the name of _"Zip"._ I believe it contained _nuclear waste_ of some kind? 😉😃 The _"easy cheese" thingy_ looks horrible. And this is enough cringe for one watching... goodbye for now. 🙃
I love egg cream. Easy cheese was weird tasting. I never liked moon pies. Margarine wasn’t that great. I prefer butter. Swanson meat pies I didn’t really care for. Not enough food in them. They tasted like raw dough. Never heard of dunkaroos. Pudding pops no thank you. My girlfriend and her step mom and my mom were into that. Not me. Hawaiian Punch yuck! Disgusting taste. I don’t like it yuck. It’s bitter tasting. Cheese balls are habit forming. Ok. I love popcycles and creamcycles. Yes. Great. Zonkers ??? Tv dinners. Not enough food. Plus their either frozen or burnt. Turtle pies ??? Ring pops??? Must be a kid thing. Cereal yuck! Too expensive also. Twinkies hostess cupcakes delicious. Their so small now and they cost too much. I’m alergic to peanuts. Fondue fun but it can get contaminated. Bubble jug gum????? Raisin Bran and total Raisin Bran cereal. Ok. Bar none. Never heard of it???? Hostess snowballs. Love those. Reggie bar????? Cool whip. Love cool whip. Gatorade. Great! I’m alergic to peanuts. Buckwheats?????? Summit candy bars??????? Chex mix. Not good any more. Pimento cheese spread. Ok. Dagwood sandwiches.
Just a tip: putting political opinions in your videos that are supposed to be about FOOD is going to end up driving away about half your viewers... regardless of whether you're a republican or a democrat.
A lot of the treats you show are still available, Cracker Barrel restaurants have many of them, most candy bars ,, and others made by not so popular companies,,

What an amazing video! We need more memories like that.
I just found this channel today & needles to say, I've been binging! Lol
Classic television commercials of snack foods of the yesteryear
Thanks for the Classic Memories.🇺🇲📺🍪🍫🍦🥧📺🇺🇲
Wow! Many, many great memories for me from the '60s and '70s.

WOW THAT SOUNDS GREAT
4:51 - The *Moon Pie* is a product of the southeast. To the north we had the same thing, by a different baker called a Scooter Pie.
I thought Scooter Pies have whipped cream instead of the marshmallow?
It's Margarine with a soft G.
He knows he’s definitely way older than most of us. Thank you!
Great video! it's like a cool walk down memory lane in the summertime.🌄
Some of these products, I don't know at all. Too old I guess.
I live near Pittsburgh and still buy Mallo Cups here, it's one of my favorites! Thank goodness they haven't faded into history here!
Half of these foods are still in grocery stores. There is a ton of cool whip and store brands being sold.
But, there again a lot of the items still are being sold and made by manufacturers doesn’t mean they are necessarily as popular as they once were! 23:51
Lol...I ate a mallow cup today! Love those things!
Mexican Coca Cola still uses glass bottles
It's made with cane sugar too.

@MsFreakyPaws The title is still click bait like most of these foods lost to history videos.
Also the Planters cheese balls are not still available. Not that I've seen.
@@pokelynke8232they absolutely are. Just bought some yesterday.
These treats may be available in some areas, but they are not widely available as they were back in the day. That was the premise of this video. You are being to critical.
@MsFreakyPaws But moon pies, pot pies and others ARE still fairly mainstream.
They didn't say they didn't exist anymore. They said their popularity had waned.
He did say some that are no longer made anymore, he did say that! But, he didn’t say that about the ones that are still being made by the manufacturers but, the popularity is not like it once was on some of them!
A number of those are still here. I see some of them every time I go shopping.

Jiffy Pop is still sold at Walmart, I still buy occasionally! 50:35
I was thinking- how could they get rid of Jiffy Pop??? It's too fun! I get to share it with my microwaved grands! Lol

Only the government will band candy cigarettes
Yet keep the real cigarettes.
To quote an Eddie Money song, "I want to go back".
30:22 - Both peanut butter and the fruit jam come from jars bought from the grocery store.
The title is misleading. Many of these items have not faded into history. They sold everywhere currently. I buy many of these items today especially candy cigarettes and Tang
Mallo Cups can be purchased at Cracker Barrel Restaurant gift shops, Hobby Lobby carries some candy by the registers you can't find anywhere else.

Freeze-dried ice cream is good for back-packing campers.
