In todays video I thought I'd do a gel polish design with some real time stamping, because a few people have told me they struggle with stamping!
It was also a fab opportunity to use and review this gorgeous plate I was sent from born pretty! I have to say I'm really impressed with the quality, however I have been a huge born pretty fan for a long time!

This is so helpful! Can I ask a silly question? The stamping polish isn't "gel" right? It's just regular stamping nail polish? I just never knew if it could go with gel! I also see you did the gel topcoat over the stamping polish and it doesn't bleed??! Nail polish top coat always makes it smear so this is really interesting? Looking forward to hearing from you and learning! Thank you!!

Found your vid after a search of how to stamp with gel polish and I’m so glad I did - I have always had a hard time waiting for standard polish to dry, and always mess it up, so I’m glad there’s a technique to stamp with gel because stamping has never been hard in comparison to that waiting for me!

You answered my question. Can you stamp onto cured gel polish? Yes! I’m about to embark on doing my own nails at home. I have no professional training but have been getting my nails done for 40+ years. I should know what to do, right? I have some stamping supplies I bought a while back and never tried it. Thank you! I used gel polish and becasue I had set my previous layer with a lamp the polish on the stamper like smeared as if u where to smear some writing on paper and idk if it’s because I used gel to stamp with !
Hmm that's strange, I've personally never tried stamping with gel! I'll have to give it a try x

@@dashabondarenko1896 yes there is quite a big difference, stamping polish dries a lot quicker making it perfect for doing stamping designs, I've also found most stamping polishes have a thinner consistency and more pigmentation ♥️ for stamping I'd highly recommend using a stamping polish over regular polish xx
There is a cheap way to go however Sally's has a polish that is called Insta-dry it dries very fast and works well as stamp polish.
@@EnchantedNailsByAmanda would you say the stamping polish also lasts once being cured with gel top coat? I successfully stamped regular white polish but within a week the designs were cracking
I bought an ebanku gel nail stamper and first time trying stamping. So put the gel on the stamp but when I put the stamper down on the plate, the polish does not adhere to the stamper. What am I doing wrong? Please.
Hey! You mentioned putting gel on the stamp - firstly are you putting it on the plate? Or do you mean the stamper?
And 2 I'm not sure what gel you're using but I use stanping polish rather than gel, that's a specific polish for stamping and works best.. it can take a lot of practice so keep trying ♥️♥️ xxx
do you apply top coat before stamping and top coat again ?

This is a video I done a really long time ago so I can't remember all the steps I did.. however I don't usually apply Top Coat before stamping now, I just stamp on top of the gel polish ♥️ I have more recent stamping videos that you may find helpful.
For stamping I have used white stamping polish, for the white base nail I used gel polish x
do you have to wipe off the sticky layer from the gel before stamping on the it?
Hey! No you don't have to wipe it off, sometimes I do, sometimes I don't, it won't make a huge difference ♥️
Beautiful result! I was wondering if the polish used for stamping was regular polish or gel? I wasn't sure if it was okay to use regular polish on gel or how that works. Or is stamping polish some kind of different polish all together? Thanks for the great video!
Hey lovely.. I use stamping polish, which yes is different to gel polish & regular polish - it's very similar to regular polish however highly pigmented and fast drying. If you're doing stamping I'd definitely recommend trying with a stamping polish x

Also, question: do you HAVE to use stamping polish when doing stamps? Or are you able to stamp with gel polish and cure it?
I personally prefer to use stamping polish because I find it works every time with little faff and effort haha! I've not tried with gel polish tbh! I think you would need to try with one that's super pigmented and only needs one coat! But worth a try ♥️♥️

1 - I usually stamp on top of the colour gel polish, so then I will remove the tacky layer with alcohol, sometimes I stamp on time of no wipe top coat, then there is no tacky layer to remove :)
2 - In the past I have tried stamping with normal nail polish and I've always found it to be tricky and inconsistent, some brands work for stamping and some wouldn't.. then I tried stamping polish and now that's all I ever use as it works every time! Therefore is a lot easier ♥️♥️

Yess ♥️ I always top coat with gel polish as long as its a gel polish or acrylic base under the stamping x

Oh no! It can be so frustrating!
First up, are you applying enough polish so that it fills the image in the plate when you scrape?
Secondly are you working QUICK?! Its tricky but once you master it, its so worth it! X
One thing that's really helped me is to pick up in the opposite direction that I scrape.

Hey! So on the blue and white nails I stamped directly over the cured gel polish and then top coated.. on the Glitter nail I Top coated and then stamped as the surface was uneven due to the glitter, I then did another layer of Top coat to seal the stamping in xxx

I had never heard of this stamper thing, but I may give it a try. I saw another UA-camr using it to smush her finger in to get a French tip, but I don’t know how to avoid getting polish ALL over my finger😂 I have relatively short nails. I mix either base coat or top coat with the glitter and then apply with a brush the same way you would a gel polish :)

I try to use gel polish to do the actual stamping (not special stamping polish), and the image picks up clearly on the stamp, but smudges when I try transferring it to the nail. Does anyone know why this happens?
I find this happens too, not sure why because I've found with some images it works okay and some smudge
Thanks for the response. I was just playing around with it now...I tried drying the stamp with image in the lamp for about 10 seconds and then transferring it seems to the nail. It didn't smudge :)

Yesss (it's a bit hit and miss and will depend on the gel polish you're using) I'm sure I have a video up in my stamping playlist using gel polish ♥️
My problem is that the figure comes out to faded :c is it my gel polish? Or do you need to leave a big amount of polish in the stamper
Hmm have you tried shaking your stamping polish? Sometimes the pigment settles to the bottom and then doesn't come out as bright.. if that doesn't work you could try using more polish, let me know how you get on ♥️

Hey not a stupid question at all!
You can certainly try with your gel/shellac however it doesn't always work - some brands I've tried do and some don't, same goes for colours some work as they're more pigmented and some barely show - for a good pigmented stamp everytime I'd use stamping polish x

Hey I use it to clean the stamper - it's a great way to remove polish, or anything like dust from your stamper ♥️
I love the idea of stamping! But I hate that everything I've seen is so flat. No metallic, satin, glitter, etc. Is there a brand you suggest that may have more options than flat colors?
Hey! Hmm I completely get that, I'd recommend checking out clear jelly stamper brand.. they have lots of metallic colours, they also have something called sticky polish which means you can stamp with fine glitter and chrome's too x

I mixed glitter with a clear gel top coat and then applied with the brush 🙂🖤

Hey! No sorry it won't work with gel polish unless its a stamping gel.. ideally the best thing to use is stamping polish, this air dries quickly and is designed for stamping x

@@mhmitch38 you can have anything as your base, so yes you can have a gel polish base, then I'd advise wiping with alcohol to remove the tacky layer from the gel or you could do a no wipe matte top coat.. then do your stamping with stamping polish ♥️ x

How to erase no need of design from the stamp .can you do explain
I use a sticky lint roller to remove any unwanted design from the stamper, I hope that helps ♥️

So.. you didn’t use gel polish to stamp. But you use regular polish on the stamp
I have a hard time with the pressure on the card. I feel like I’m either not scraping off enough or I’m scrapping off too much
It does just yake practice with the pressure also the angle of the scraper helps, too upright and you don't scrap enough off ♥️ keep at it lovely 😊
