- My flight home from Front Royal, VA back to Concord, NC. The only possible way I could have made this flight was with an instrument rating. Not only did it make the flight possible but I got treated to some spectacular views.

Do you have your instrument rating? If not, what's keeping you from getting it?
I'd love to get my IR, but I don't have enough free time to study for the written, and probably not enough free time to keep it current. But I'm dreaming!
Super video now let's see some in the new plane..
Patience. It's coming.
Between layers is some of the best flying!
Yes it is!
Fun video! Looking forward to the next one!
Remember when I texted you saying: you need to come on a long IFR XC with me? This was the flight that inspired that text.
Beautiful 😍
Thank you! 😊
That’s so cool. I made the leap and bought all the equipment to make mine ifr rated, just waiting to get it installed. I can’t wait to get started on my ifr training
Oh, excellent! If I can make a suggestion: consider doing the accelerated IFR course. I started on the regular training path and switched to accelerated half way through and I really wish I'd have just done the accelerated from the start.
For me, I was doing 2-3 lessons per week. But when I'd have a 2 day layoff between lessons the first half of the lesson was me having to relearn everything. About midway through that I ended up with some scheduling conflicts with my instructor so I switched.
I took a week off of work, and just became a full time instrument student. And I loved it. Not only did I get it done quicker it was cheaper!
I wish I'd just done it that way from the start.
Good luck with your instrument training!
Looks awesome, though I am just a little disappointed that this isn't a video about a flying In-N-Out Burger
You make an excellent point. The title is definitely misleading! 😂
Awesome!! Your videos are amazing!! What altitude were you cruising at?
Thank you!
As far as altitude, I didn't remember but when I looked it up, looks like it was 8000.
Awesome! I have a 140/160 conversion with powerflow and if it is hot it takes a lot of effort to climb that high if its me and a passanger.
@@andresfleury8825 yeah it does. I have an engine monitor in the airplane and I make sure CHTs don't get above 410F. Which means I climb pretty slowly. I just tell ATC unable 500 fpm climb and get there when I get there.
