- A special NHS Pensions webinar for those who opted to move from the 1995 section to the 2008 section in 2014 - known as choice 2.
Members in this category should have received a letter advising them that they now have the option to switch back into the 1995 section.
We have provided an overview of this and areas to consider.

Some of the examples provided are simplistic to help with the basic levels of learning and education for pension scheme members. This can then be built upon. Members need to therefore investigate and understand their own circumstances to understand their full position.
No problem I hope it helped. It’s disappointing that estimates were not provided to members. There is an ongoing roadmap to improve self service and a new system called my nhs online is being rolled out but it will be a slow process to get modelling etc in place.
This is really useful thanks for posting. My wife is in this position and hasn’t been given any option to join webinars or anything other than THE letter. So massively frustrating in not being able to tap into more official info or projections/modelling. I have a current accruing CARE pension as an active member and a 24yr private DB pension as a deferred member…..both scheme have easy access projections of final pensions adaptable for early retirement/varying lump sums etc……..why can’t the nhs provide this?
Thank you. I feel completely in the dark and need to make a choice by the 20th May as you know. I am turning 62 in Dec and may need to retire soon based on my partners health. I have asked for more clarity and don't understand why I can't be given figures of my retirement should I now choose to go back to 1995. It simply does not seem a legally tenable position for the NHS to hold. Is there a legal challenge in process? Thank you for your video. B
The provision of no information is a terrible position. You can pay for external help and we have had success with fees being claimed back.
