Reference to calling balls and strikes very appropriate on a day when umpire Angel Hernandez announces his retirement.

You guys cater to me! lol. Been watching all the Barbell Medicine pain podcast lectures and Omar’s round table from a chunk of years ago… and left wondering about lingering pains and also yesterday I stupidly arm-wrestled a student without warming up and now got elbow pain, hoping not to pull an Omar and clears up soon.
You guys are heroes! The whole evidence based community. Truly, thank you guys!

As someone who has a history of overtraining, I can empathize. I still suffer some aches and pains from minor injuries that require me to be cautious to not over aggravate certain problem areas. I couldn’t imagine having the training I love so much taken away from completely and I’m forever thankful to still be capable of participating. I wish anyone going though injuries and their repercussions well.

Eric went off on this episode. Eric, on the other hand -
Just want to put some Ericognition on my boys - erecting knowledge paradigms all over the place as well as other things.

Omar repeatedly insisting that Helms is a larper til Helms just gives up on correcting him and accepts the label is a hidden plotline in this podcast, and, guys - I think Omar's poliorcetics are beginning to wear down the resistence.

Similar symptoms but different, Trex - L5 stress fractures both sides, about 7-8 years ago, and as one side healed (the other will never heal apparently) it’s caused nerve issues down the right glute/hammy/knee/calf/foot kind of like how sciatica is described.
Can confirm after spending thousands of dollars and several years seeing different specialists from surgeons to sports docs to physios and everything in between, to be finally told “you’re going to just have to manage it, come back if it gets worse” is utterly gruelling.
There are so many factors that impact your symptoms so it’s super hard to draw a straight line between “deadlifts” and “pain” for example. It’s a slow process.

this was very encouraging to me since I've been dealing with back-to-back injuries for the past year and have been so so sad not being able to do all the powerlifts T_T but I'm only 23 (lifting since 14ish) so I have plenty of time to take a break and build back!! I just need to stop myself when I'm feeling good and end up re-aggrevating things lolol

Shoutouts to I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream. That's some rough stuff, learned about it when researching the inspirations to original Fallouts.
Also Trexler just made me think of the love Arnold had for the gym that he broke in, even broke a glass to get in to train.

my back is toast. between bulging discs and degenerative disc disease my lower back is a whole package of sucktastic pain. at the age of 53, sadly, I would rather grind through and experience the pain instead of engaging with the healthcare system.

Having to suffer through Trexler and Omar just to get to Helms is excruciating 😢
