Is Ghost Of Tsushima WORTH IT In 2024?!

- With the PC release of Ghost Of Tsushima, there's never been a better time to spotlight this modern classic than right now. Ghost Of Tsushima is another absolute banger from the creators of Sly Cooper and Infamous. While it is the Japan centric Assassin's Creed game we wanted all along, it does so much more than that and I'm stoked to spotlight that!

When the game first came out it really help me get through 2020
I feel it i grinded that platinum out
Be careful Matty, Sony might see this and decide it needs a remaster.
As long as they give us Bloodborne again, I will happily take another $10 upgrade.
Already had a remaster...
Ah yeah the retro game Ghost of Tsushima
N64 classic
An original comment on this channel, to be sure 🙄
Retro is a POV thing. A 10 year old thinks this game is retro.
@@Karlach_10 year olds are dumb little children. Who would do anything based on what they think?
I played this back on SNES
I remember when this game was announced alongside Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. I went nuts because I love feudal Japan settings and love the samurai/shinobi fantasy.
Ghost of Tsushima is right up there with rdr 2 for me as far as games that really stand out to me
Wow
The guiding wind is one of the best navigation features in gaming, period. I’ve never felt so immersed in travelling in a game, all because of how fluid it is. Less yellow paint on rocks you need to climb and more of this. Ghost of Tsushima is prob my favorite PS4 exclusive I’ve ever played
It’s one of the greatest games ever made. Of course it's worth it.
I'm playing it right now and it's 100% worth it
one if the most boring games ever!
@@Rainfall08 nah you just got that CoD brain
Retro gaming: you can put tens of hours into legends.
Me: 2K+ hours scratching my head while still playing.
Thank you so much for this video, it really helped me
Ah yes finally covering the retro game, ghost of tsushima for PS5!

The most enjoyable platnium i have ever obtained.
Dude, Iki Island is excellent. You’ve got to play it.
Wish I could go back to a time when I wasn’t burned out open world games, and replay this. I enjoyed it, but I feel like I would get 5 hours in and lose the excitement on a new playthrough
I played this for the first time a month ago and I can’t believe I slept on it for so long. Such an incredible game
Can't wait for the review of retro classic Stellar Blade
Looking jacked Matty. Nice job man.
Well I just got it for PC, my first time playing it
It's already easily one of the best video game purchases I've ever made. So, yes.
I hope Sony backed a dump truck full of money on the studio for their next game... it's easily the best game they've made maybe ever
I love how they tell multiple stories in small ways that add up to an overall huge storyline.
@@tacituskillgore7437 I don't doubt they did tbh. Say what ya want about Sony. They invest in good studios and IP.
And before anyone says Days Gone.
That game was a mess lol
What’s wild is this is a PS4 game. Imagine what a PS5 version will look like
@@saesang352 Im replaying it on PS5 as I type. It looks damn good at times. The lighting is top notch.
Matty, you’re basically Nostradamus with your video timing
I can't imagine waiting for the PC version then playing the game on a small screen on a handheld. To me this game screams to be play on a TV.
This is easily my favorite game. Started out not liking it and then something clicked. The most beautiful game with great combat, upgrades, music, story. Its AAA from every angle. I also have to add, the bow in this game feels amazing to use, idk why
It´s a good game. Very repetitive tho. The "squad based" enemy format makes it feel like that. Could have been done better imo. Like more "randomness" in their appearances across the map.
There is a burst of action and then total calm with no extra pressure. Or at least that´s my personal sensation about it. As if I didn´t run into enemies but I entered an "area" or a zone. Which is ok when entering towns and such. But I feel it wrong in the open.
I don´t feel an enemy could surprise me, catch me off guard, etc. Is like I have to approach the enemy area and "unlock" the battle mode. Like "Sleeping Dogs". You see how many you´re gonna fight and after that amount of enemies you are 100% safe. No tension, no worries, etc. Nothing´s gonna happen until YOU approach more enemies. They´ll never "jump" on you or surprise you because they act in a static area. And it´s a bit sad. Specially with such a beautiful map/world and so much potential in it.
Combat is very satisfying at least. It compensates a lot.
How is this game retro already? I’m getting old 😭
Crazy that it is 4 years old already. It was such a great time playing this and TLoU2 within a few weeks.
It isn't. It will be in another 16 years
Literately bought Ghost of Tsushima game as I watched this video. Very convincing, Matty.
Haven't had a chance to play it yet so happy to play it wide screen with good fps.
You’re in for a hell of a ride
AC Shadows 🤷🏻
Ghost of Tsushima 👍😎
I played this game and thought it was awful never finished it. There last great game was sly because even infamous I thought was garbage.
Ive been thinking about something:
WE NEED SLY COOPER REMASTERED ❤
I'm planning to play this for the first time after I finish Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth. I remember being disappointed by the lack of melee weapon variety in this when my best friend talked to me about his playthrough.
Ac shadows is going to be compared with Rise of the Ronin and Ghosts. It will be an up hill battle indeed.
When compared to Rise of the ronin I’m sure ac shadows will be a 10/10🤣
@@paradoxalpictures exactly, currently playing this crap....waste of money
@@paradoxalpictures Well i would have to disagree there. Gameplay wise I fine Ronin more enjoyable and challenging then ghosts and I platinumed ghosts as well as beat the campaign twice once on the hardest difficulty. Ronin feels more like a game i can always play and it’s overrated as bwup currently 100 + hours midnight games actually fire.
AC shadows should have its priorities straightened out instead of bother to what DEI department had to say.
It’s very obviously going to be better than Rise of the Ronin lol, but Ghost of Tsushima? TBD.
I already have this on PS5. Last month I bought a 4080 Super. Should I buy this game for my PC?
Yes. It’s honestly one of the best games ever made. Next to Cyberpunk 2077 & Rdr2
Playing this for the first time on PC and I love it so far, cant wait to 100% it
Just started playing this year, I love it
PROS:
PERFORMANCE 10/10
STORY 10/10 WHAT AN ENDING!!
MUSIC 10/10
AUDIO 10/10
EXPLORATION 10/10
COMBAT 10/10
GRAPHICS 10/10
DLC 9/10
LEGENDS MODE IS NOT WORKING
IT TOOK A BIT TO GET USED TO THE CONTROL SCHEME AND TIMING BUT ONCE YOU GET GOOD IS A BLISS. I SUGGEST PEOPLE CHANGE THE GAMEPAD TO MELEE ALTERNATIVE BECAUSE IT FEELS MORE NATURAL AT LEAST TO ME THAT WAY.
CONS: 1 CRASH
A BIT OF STUTTERING HERE AND THERE BUT NOTHING MAJOR.
SOMETIMES SOME CUTSCENES WOULD NOT SHOW THE SUBTITLES AND I WOULD MISS OUT ON SOME IMPORTANT DIGUALO DURING A STANDOFF THE INPUT WOULD WORK AND I WOULD GET MASSIVE HIT DAMAGE BECAUSE OF IT.
Great game really captured the classic Eastern movies was so happy to have a Samurai game with no demons or monsters.
oh shoot, it's Matty
Most Shinobi doing covert work _were_ samurai. And there is no such thing historically as ninjitsu. Iga village popularized the idea of ninja being a separate clan due to it being a hotspot of Shinobi training. See Dan Cummins' work
Ive gotten to act 2 and holy shit is it so well made. For making a game in a pandemic, it really is a breath of fresh air. In my opinion this is what the next assassins creed game should've felt like for combat. Recommend to everyone that misses the old peak assassins creed feeling but a bit better
I would love a new infamous game. Sucker punch has really outdone themselves with gos and I never knew it.
One of the subtle things I like is the screen is so clear of crap, then you play a Ubisoft game and it's like you have a encyclopedia on your screen
The assassin's creed shadows we wanted
Modded Tenchu goes crazy
This game is in my top 3 all time, I'd say its worth it for sure.
My favorite ps4 exclusive
"It looks like a Ubisoft game..."
Well the samurai Ubisoft game was announced and we all know how that has turned out
Very retro yessssssir
So have you played iki island yet
Ghost of Tsushima actually is nostalgic for me, even tho it wasn’t that long ago😅
I just played it on PlayStation like a month ago it was pretty cool ngl
My guess is multiplayer mode will be bigger in the sequel...i think the best way to monetize it (they will lets be real) would just be charge 30 bucks and if it blows up make expansions for it.
I really need to try this game a few of my brothers say it’s amazing
This was the best game of 2020 hands down
As someone who played for the first time in 2024… yes
a actually masterpiece of a game, insane graphic fidelity on PC.
If u have never tried it then yes it’s definitely worth playing
One of my favorite games ever made. 1000% worth it!
Assasins creed was put on notice when this game came out.
You’re probably better off playing ghost of Tsushima then the controversial assassins Creed shadows at this point not saying there’s anything wrong with assassin‘s Creed shadows. It’s just been getting a lot of backlash recently. I think ghost of Tsushima is a solid game and probably one of the most beautiful games I’ve ever had the privilege of playing and it’s written really well.
Of corse it is, its a little masterpiece. It does things seen elsewhere before, but with amazing results in all areas. Openworld games have reached a point where there is often too much to do and stuff isn't funny enough to justify doing said stuff. But in this dark times, I think the team really nailed pretty much everything to give us great fun.
Can’t skip cutscenes that’s my dealbreaker.
Well, yeah. Of course it is!
was looking into this game as a replacement for Assassins creed shadows. Thank you for this video!
Don't blame you. Everyone is talking about the character in AC shadows but no one is talking about how it's gonna be a generic open world RPG bad combat and outfits or weapons as dlc like the last few AC games and Ubisoft games in general. Even if the protagonist was Japanese, the game will still have these problems. Especially since we don't own the games we buy and how they can remove it like they did with the crew. Well anyways Can't wait to grind to level 60 just to kill a boss and probably not be at a higher level to use the weapon they have and not use it after a few minutes lmao
@@maverick9357 there is a Japanese protagonist as well but it's not surprising in the least that the clowns upset that Yasuke is black are also oblivious to a female protagonist, tracks so well for those losers. You're right about what the game will be like though
@@conor6436 tbh I don't know that much about the protagonist to say anything. All I heard was that yasuke wasn't a samurai but a retainer and the Wikipedia that says that was changed after the trailer released and how the Shinobi girl couldn't be it because of her gender and because a Ex Ubisoft soft employee leaked what AC Japan was supposed to be before sweet baby inc got involved. And I did see a few Japanese people upset about it. On Facebook a Japanese guy did go on a huge rant about it and saying they got sideline and even said they ruined the shogun show when they introduced white people in it and that everytime there's something about Japan from America, they always managed to squeeze in foreigners. And even said they didn't do a good job because there was Chinese stuff or something like that in the game trailers and they didn't even do their good enough research. I'm not joking. A Japanese on Facebook said this. It should still be on it. It's on the trailer for the game but on Facebook. But all I can say is that I don't know much about this whole thing
@@conor6436Yeah because a game where u play as a samurai assassin in feudal Japan lends itself to having a black dude and a chick as the main characters 😂
@@altonb.1396 The last three entries for AC have all featured a dual cast of characters, one male and one female. People losing their minds over the female option is honestly just ridiculous.
Now I do think casting Yasuke as the samurai option is rather odd and definitely screams more DEI points. Every game in this series has typically featured people of the race of the region they are in e.g. based in Italy = Native italian (Ezio Auditore), Greece = native greek's (Alexios and Kassandra).
Now if Yasuke ends up being an interesting character in the game, then that could be great. But why do they suddenly feel the need to change this? Why not create these characters if they decide to do an African AC game, because that actually sounds like an awesome setting.
Is the title nuts or what, ofcourse GoT is worth it in 2024, the game is still way better visually and gameplay wise than mose games in the last 3 years..
We need I famous and Bloodborn on PC😢
The combat is my favourite of any game ever! So satisfying, literal one man army once you get adept at it
The bears are annoying af.. especially in Legends mode.. crow demons aswell are a fucking pain (tengu?)
I love this game aesthetically and it does have solid combat, but I still feel that it's overall a bit too safe in terms of standard open-world gameplay.
Open world games need more unique recognizable land marks, more hand made parts and less procedural generic crap.
I totally agree with 'map staring' that's why I'm so glad they took it out of call of duty, otherwise you just the whole time staring at the corner of the screen!
Just bought GOT and it's the best game ever. Makes Ubisoft look like armatures.
They are amateurs these days...
One of the best open world games in the modern era 👏🔥
I bro honestly i just kinda want a yes or no bro like you just talking about like ten different games
Last time i sunk ton of time into a play station story mode multiplayer game was on ps3 with the ac3 with a hide and seek style game. And uncharted 3 parkour shooter was much more fun than any gta 5 basic team battle
Those who have not played Iki island really should . Its not as ground breaking as the Witcher 3 DLC but still very much worth playing.
Please let there be pvp duels in Ghost of Tsushima 2
Damn I never played this game it’s on sale for ps5 right now but man I wanna save my cash lol but this looks awesome one day ima play it for sure
more than ever, and it is gonna take an extra push from the PC release thanks to idiotic Ubisoft and AC shadows
This game is absolutely worth on PS4
Yes
The only game I finished in the last decade
short answer: YES
I love this game ever since my first time playing it, it has stuck with me, i'd even go as far as to say it's one of my favourite games of all time, love the channel Matty :)
The only game I've ever platinumed...I wanted more
Was a great Platinum. Liked it a lot.
Yup!!! Defo. Especially considering the dogs**t that’s just around the corner
greatest Sony game of all time. I'll put it above GOW
This game is old?
looks like others have the same response...
I enjoyed it. I wouldn't' put it up their with my top games. Arkham, to name one, I'm a little salty on the second one as their sequel sucks. But overall it was a good game. Worth playing.
This game looks good. Very interesting.
I'll play this after I play Assassin's Creed Shadows. I ha e been waiting for Assassin's Creed Shadows for 12 years now. So, I want that game under my belt before I compare it against anything similar to it.
Bonus: I should be able to get this game for half off by the time Black Friday rolls around, too. 😁
Oh yes that classic old game thats only 2/3 years old.
I still can't believe Sucker Punch did it better than Ubisoft😅
Should’ve just reviewed the pc port
Is the game still worth it on ps4? Does it run well?
Yeah load times are great and graphics are still fine. the ps5 version is a considerable upgrade, but the ps4 version is still a good way to experience it
Such a good game
I really hope the sequel won't be much longer
In the process of platinuming this right now. It’s consumed most of my free time and damn is the game breathtaking. Looking forward to jumping into the multiplayer at some point too.
It definitely is but I currently prefer rise of the ronin over it atm
It's not retro bro
Ghosts of Tsushima will be worth it in 2035
That benevolence you mentioned? Yeah... only accessible to PC players if they are willing to open a backend into their steam-account for Playstation Network accounts. Most of the world won't be able to play that.
This game is about 10 times as long as Senuas Sacrifice, and took half as long to make.
fantastic PC port. Stunningly beautiful. Combat still kicks ass. This is such a big NO DUH purchase.
One of the all time best games.
Ghost of Tsushima is already retro? Mhm I'll believe it when I see it
