There is no such thing as secondary production, producers are plants at the start of the food chain that produce organic compounds (not energy!), then you have primary consumers, secondary consumers, tertiary etc. If you mean productivity, primary consumers have a higher productivity because they minimise losses to the food (chemical energy) they ingest by consuming producers directly, therefore a higher percentage of the chemical energy ingested comes from the producer, does that make sense?

@@miloshavickga9048 That’s okay, the difference between primary and secondary is that primary is when pioneer species colonise a barren area that has no soil/life, secondary is when a previously inhabited area has be destroyed and is being reinhabited by species :)
