he was the police officer at my high school throughout all 4 years. in 2016 during the black history month performances he came on stage singing and surprised everyone, teachers, students and all.
He was always a nice guy and always made you laugh if you were.

When Pastor Mervin Mayo sings his Gospel Song about the passing of his Dad and going to the Funeral Home to cut his father's hair, it brings tears and touches your heart in every area. He is anointed and here to touch you Spiritually. Mervin Mayo and his wife give off the glow of Spiritual love. Some people you'll never forget, and he one.
I turned the TV on tonight and was about to switch it to my Roku but I saw Officer Mayo was from VA and had to watch. I lived in Virginia Beach for decades, graduated school there and met my husband there. My late husband Howard loved AGT and I honestly have avoided watching since he died because it makes me sad when I can't share it with Howard. Tonight I didn't change it, and I am glad. It felt like a message. My husband used to sing this song to me. Ironically I have had problems with my spine, legs and feet for over 20 years. When pain made it hard to get around Howard took care of me. We lost Howard to covid-19 early in the pandemic. I miss him every day. I try not to cry but this performance touched my heart.

He was an officer at my high school the entire time I was there and man I tell you I am beyond happy and proud to see him on this stage. He is the most genuine person I've ever met and one of the Nicest guys ever. I need all my Huguenot High School alumni to show Officer Mayo some love!!!!

There are a lot of great acts that deserve Golden Buzzers but they only have so many to use. He's a good singer but given the amount of competition this year, he probably won't make it to the finals. Very few singers do.

Minister Mayo has such an amazing voice and is a kind spirit! His UA-cam channel (Mervin Mayo) popped up on my timeline a couple of years or so ago and I have his music on a daily rotation on my Apple Music playlist! Minister Mayo seems to be a very humble and inspiring person!
If you listen to Minister Mayo talk about his faith or listen to the lyrics in his songs, you will become so inspired and begin to feel the blessings of His word! Wow! Mervin is amazing!!! ❤ His voice is actually pretty unique and his delivery was awesome. Maybe not to industry standards but I loved it!! His background story is so heartbreaking but has a very good lesson … the power of mentors is so underrated… just one person believing in you can make so much difference!!! If you can help just one person in your life…help them break free of their horrible upbringings, help them believe that they can be what they want to be…so worth the hardships!!! I’m an Aussie, but I have to say… the US and other countries needs police officers like Mervin who really care about people!!!
