    I got diagnosed with B cell non-hodgkins lymphoma. I finished my second round of chemo 2 weeks ago, and now I’m onto my 3rd round tomorrow! I love that i can relate to someone, though I feel so bad you have to go through this! You got this!

    One thing I noticed since I watched your journey (I started watching from the beginning) was that before I figured out that you live in Canada, I could tell you lived in a country with universal healthcare. Here in America, my first thought would have been "how am I going to afford all this" because even before you got diagnosed you had X-rays, CTs and other tests. That could run us into thousands of dollars in debt just right there. And then once you get to treatment, forget about it. I'm so happy that you can get the treatment you deserve without having to worry about how to afford it.

    U could have used salt water in your mouth before during and after chemo for a week or so(after chemo) and you wouldn’t get mouth sores. It’s a side effect to the chemo and the salt water helps not get sores. That’s what my doctors made me do when I had cancer both times..

    I get those mouth sores too :( I’ve had up to 9 at a time before, and they’re pretty awful. I don’t have cancer, but I have a horrible immune system because my body doesn’t like to produce white blood cells. It sucks you have to deal with those on top of chemo and just cancer in general.

    Magdelana, I usually live in Fargo, North Dakota, aka South Winnipeg for many people who love to come down to shop. You can usually find alot of vehicles from Manitoba at West Acres in Fargo or other big shopping places on the weekends. I found out that I had lymphoma cancer this last October. And after my 1st round of chemo treatments I was taken off all chemo because I had a blood bacteria that had to be taken care of ASAP. I just need to find out about the results of my pet scan and then that's it, if it shows no cancer then I'm going back to my place in Fargo. I am at a nursing home for now, in Lisbon. I can't wait in some ways to go back to my place.

    Does your cancer centre give you water iceblocks to suck on when ur receiving the “red devil”-doxorubicin? It can really help with stopping those terrible mouth ulcers-or can lessen how many of them-hope this helps!!!

    • @MagsBujalski
      @MagsBujalski  4 роки тому

      Yes, they gave me some after I complained to them about getting mouth sores as a side effect! :)

    • @rmjames83
      @rmjames83 4 роки тому +2

      Magdalena Bujalski Awesome! I used to be an oncology nurse, but have had to stop working due to my own health issues-Doxorubicin is terrible for mouth ulcers, but I did find giving patients a water iceblock to suck-preferably start 5-10 mins before Doxorubicin administration, helped them a huge amount! It constricts the blood vessels in your mouth, so consequently, the fast growing cells & tissues of the mouth get a lower “dosage” of the doxorubicin. I think we would all know what it’s like to “burn your tongue/mouth” with a hot drink-but you are generally ok/healed within 12-24hrs-it demonstrates how fast the cells are turning over in our mouths/tongues-and as you also probably know, chemo works on any fast growing cell-so that’s why mouth ulcers occur-especially with particular (ie doxorubicin) chemo drugs. I hope this makes sense!
