Very nice setup my friend... I’m so happy you found the fix for your press . I never want to see any one have to go through what I went through with Lee Precision It costed me over $145.00 approximately in shipping they finally fixed it On the second try I could’ve bought one used on the market replacement for the prices .i spent that’s why I’m really thinking of drinking the Blue Kool-Aid
I love my original lee classic cast, I don't think you can break one. I just got the adapter for the breach lock bushings. Its nice to have a press that will accept 1-1/4, 1", and 7/8 dies. Thanks for the review, I'm going to check the end of my ram right now.
I like that single stage you have. I have the cast turret and just finally wore out my RCBS Rockchucker single stage after 40 years of service. My Lee turret been going strong for 15 years now. But want another single stage for rifle loads. Will get that Lee like yours. That bushing set up is the way to go👍👍👍. Thanks buddy
I have one of the "New-Original" design (primer disposal through the ram, accepts the breech lock bushing). Mine came factory new with the breech lock bushing and i can indeed screw dies directly into the breech bushing adapter. This is my first press and I don't see me replacing it for many many years.
Well Explained. I was wondering if you could just screw a regular bushing into it and use regular 7/8-14 threaded dies. I know RCBS also has a inline arbor type press with a bushing that is available as well if Lee and Brownell's are out of Lee Bushings.
Yes. You can use a regular bushing and just screw in your dies. If you want to use the press without any bushings you have to get the big black steel nut from Lee. That will allow you to screw dies into the press the old way.
You could just leave the low profile breech lock bushing in the breech lock adapter bushing and use that to screw dies in and out. Saves you $8+ and having to order a separate part. Serves the same exact purpose, for the most part.
Nice overview of the LEE Classic Cast Press, Georgiaboy! I *think* that LEE Precision may have discontinued the "Breech Lock Classic Cast" with the side primer chute. It is not listed in the 2020 catalog, and it no longer appears on the web site.
This was very helpful and gave me a much better understanding of the press and the different bushings. How is the press working for you after 6 months?
In my opinion spent primers should always go through the ram to keep the ram clean on the outside. I have plenty of Lee presses even the cheap breech lock challenger is a real nice tool but it’s weak points is the primer disposal, it makes the ram really dirty and you have to take it out regularly to clean it. But I understand the priming system wouldn’t work if the ram was hollow
nice video.. My question deals with the Shell Holders. Should they clip into or onto the fixed piece on top of the ram? Mine slide in put I have to hold them in using a finger..Is this just the way they work? or am I missing something?
@@georgiaboy4410 Doesn't seem to be any clip in mine..I be placed some magnets on either side and that seems to hold them onto the ram a little better.
I love my Lee Classic Cast press but there on other feature you didn't mention about it. If you remove the die bushing entirely from the top of the press, it'll accept 1 1/2-12 threaded dies. Then you remove the top part of the ram and it allows clearance for you to load the 50 BMG cartirdge. No need to buy a seperate 50 BMG dedicated press. I'll never load that cartridge but it's just another example of Lee's superior engineering all at a reasonable price.
The ram in my my Classic 4 hole turret press grinds badly at the seam where the top part of the ram meets the main shaft. It functions fine, but the grinding is really irritating. Lots of oil seems to lessen it a bit.
Try to tighten that top piece down on the ram if you can. I took out the shell holder and priming arm and stuck a screwdriver in that slot to tighten mine. Maybe that will fix yours too??👍🏻
Now, YOU can get away with introducing yourself as "George Boy!" And IT MAKES SENSE !!! But, If I introduced myself as "OREGON BOY", I'd be laughed at !!!
Almost bought the Chucker but watched the primer discharge problem now trying to find this press is the problem. And thx for your video!
Thanks David. Things are very hard to get these days. Sorry for the late comment. Sometimes I don’t get notifications.

It is a beast of a press. I’m really liking it👍🏻
A loading block for the Lee Dipper set. Brilliant!
Good to put a voice with the YT comments handle!
Love the Breach Lock bushings - They make an adapter that fits the RCBS Rock Chucker so you can use the bushings
I’m liking those bushings too Andy👍🏻
I just got one for my RCBS. Works like a charm with the bushing system 👍🏻
Nice press. Very cool. Thanks for the walk around.
Hey Tim. 👋

But want another single stage for rifle loads. Will get that Lee like yours. That bushing set up is the way to go👍👍👍. Thanks buddy
The classic cast is a good strong press. Love the Lee turret too👍🏻
Nice setup that’s great the press has the option to change bushing adapter
Thanks Julio👍🏻
Nice review! I'm a fan of the 'original' Classic Cast single-stage press, too.
The classic cast single and turret are a solid press👍🏻

It’s a great press. Should serve you well👍🏻
Good update on products. Hope to see a update on the 45/70 hunting this year. Good luck !
Thanks Larry. I gotta good load worked up for the 45-70. Maybe I’ll get a chance to use it👍🏻
Now I understand the differences you were talking about .
Yeah, it is confusing and hard to explain. Figured a vid might help some folks out👍🏻

Yup, that would work fine. Been a great press👍🏻
Lee keeping it simple. Like it a lot
Me too Kenny. Got my first handloads through my new Savage 110 hunter. That thing is a shooter!!👍🏻
Very cool! I never knew there were different varieties! You know I love mine! Lol
It can be very confusing lol. Either of the classic cast presses are beast👍🏻
I really like Lee products sometimes they are pretty simple but work great.
Yeah, I like Lee stuff myself. Simple is good👍🏻

Hmm, well not having two classic cast would certainly not be as confusing lol. Thanks Chapin👍🏻
very interesting Lee always coming up with something
Yes they are. Looks like they’re getting all their presses set up to use the bushings👍🏻
Pretty nice👍👍👍 Might be my next press.
It’s a solid press. I think you’d like it👍🏻
Good information. Has a nice big opening and long travel
Thanks Maxx. Seems to be a stout press👍🏻
thats good lee product nice quality good job
This was very helpful and gave me a much better understanding of the press and the different bushings. How is the press working for you after 6 months?
Glad the video was helpful. No issues at all with the press. It’s a beast of a press.
That’s pretty important information to know, in case they’re going to use it with a single screw in dies they’re gonna have to order that adapter
Yep. Once you get the adapter it’s a strong versatile press👍🏻
Best of both worlds 👍
It’s a great setup and a beast of a press 💪

I agree. I think the have discontinued the classic cast version of the press where the primers don’t go through the ram.
@@georgiaboy4410 think so too, I don’t see it on the website anymore
Best value reloading system on the market.
Absolutely. The lee classic cast single stage and turret press are my most used presses👍🏻
Looks good Georgiaboy.
Thanks Ghost. Solid press👍🏻🇺🇸
nice video..
My question deals with the Shell Holders. Should they clip into or onto the fixed piece on top of the ram? Mine slide in put I have to hold them in using a finger..Is this just the way they work? or am I missing something?
Yes. They just slide in and out but they shouldn’t really be loose. There is a little clip in there that helps hold them in place.

Yeah, forgot to mention that. Don’t think I’ll ever load that cartridge either. 45-70 is big enough for me lol. Love the Lee stuff👍🏻🇺🇸
Thanks buddy for the great video my friend 👍
Thanks John👍🏻🇺🇸

@@georgiaboy4410 Tried that. Only got a quarter turn out of the top piece. The primer arm slots didn't line up then. I think I'm stuck with the grind.
Got a video on how you reversed the ram to load with left?
Don’t have a video on it. The top part of the ram unscrews. I just unscrewed it and put it back on until it was in the position I wanted.
That’s interesting brother, good video.
Thanks Mario👍🏻
Look durable
Like a tank👍🏻
