Dry Sack is named after a local sherry exclusive to the area for centuries. Sack is thought to be an Anglicized version of either the Japanese sake (both beverages are clear or "white") or the Spanish word "sacar". It's a tradition in Jerez for quite some time and sherry from the region is often referred to as sack.
@@iamperplexed4695 Wasn't attempting too. I had the same curiosity when I first heard the corner name and found out what it was about. That's it. Extremely pedantic? Relax sparky. You're hilarious.
Cool idea with the other angles, it's good that you're using an unique livery otherwise you will need to find other ways to make it easier for us to see your car when switching angles.
The new edits look great! I can imagine capturing the extra footage and syncing it into the race takes quite a bit of time. Thank you for all the effort.
Dave, I see you're putting in a lot of effort to make your videos better, particularly the extra POVs during the race. It's paying off! I'm really enjoying it and so are lots of other people.
Alright, Dry Sack history time. Comes from the name British nobles gave to a wine that's made around that Jerez area. Corner's name was changed to Dani Pedrosa in 2018. On another note, surprised to see you pronunciating Jerez properly. Spanish Z is not easy to pronounce for anglosaxons. Appreciate the effort mate! Good race!
I like the new angles and when you stop and review. a incident rather than wait till the end. But the 30min vers 4 hrs I'll go with what you thinks good.
Hi Dave - Really liking the alternate Points of View and te editing! These latest videos are fun and remind me to focus on the right things when racing. Man, you're a great producer. I'm glad the new sim-lab pedals helped you be consistent and eeked out a bit faster lap time. Thanks for including the Brake and Throttle traces.
Such an fun and challenging car to drive. I was unfortunate enough to have a mouthfull of coffee when that Dry sack came up. Didn't end up well for me 😂 Amazing racing as always Dave 👌
I noticed the other camera angles in your last video. Takes your shit to the next level in my opinion. Just showing why you are continuing to be one of the top names in sim racing content. Love your stuff mate.... ok I'll stop brown nosing now 😅🤘
I reckon Dali has seen your video at Red Bull Ring and knew he didn't need to push on the last few laps Dave. I will take the time to explain to you at the Expo the difference between us. One of us is an old bloke with pace., and one of us is an old bloke with dry sack! 🤣 Keep up the great videos. 👍
I also like the new format Dave... can't wait to see the product at the end of the experimentation. Perhaps Drysack is a big compliment on a Friday at the end of a busy week of work in Spain?
I would if i were you perhaps do some of the new angles but try and limit them so you dont get burnt out by editing them. Loving the content and you seem to be enjoying yourself more lately which is good to see so you know best if it is worth the extra time for the extra race angles/perspectives.
Been great having a video every day this week Dave. Could watch these all day and sometime I do with your previous videos. Love the new camera footage during the race as well. Maybe switch to the car you’re hunting down now and again to see where they are gaining or loosing time would be good. Any more coffee and chat live streams planned as these are also real good?
I like it. Would be better if you'd cut to some of those when it was more relevant...like when P3 had a moment or when you overtook P2 (you showed it after the pass was pretty much complete). I also like the alternate cockpit view as a change-up - very nice!
Good video as usual Dave 👍 but one thing you said is why most people don't like smurf accounts "I'm using this account so maybe I practiced a bit more"
Second this. Trying to decide what pedals I want to upgrade to from my T-LCM pedals. Currently between the new Sim-Lab offering, VRS or Heusinkveld Sprints so the more videos showing off the XP1s will hopefully help my final decision
Hello Dave ! Nice race and nice pace 😊 Just a comment about the camera change during the race… I appreciate that you are searching to improve our experience but please, just forget the camera transition effect (quick zoom in zoom out)… I personally find that disturbing and it deserve the immersion.
Was this a fixed or open race? You are a little quicker than me, but your brake bias at 7.47 is much different than what I’m running. If you are running a setup, then who do you use and are you happy with them?
@@davecamyt thanks Dave for responding. You were a gear lower than me in turns 4&5. It looks like between those 2 corners you gapping me by about .25 per lap. I’ll have to work on how you approached them and steal your gear selections.
Good race Dave! I’m running the Pcup in a league, with GTP, kind of stupid, a car with zero downforce against full downforce, and you can’t run the Pcup off line, no bueno. Also the pcup over 35c is a pig. What was your tt in this race. My race pace was from mid high 40’s to high 42’s when it hot. Haven’t found that setup adjustment for hot temps 🤷♂️
@@davecamyt that’s the sweet spot for me. Have you noticed in iracing, I’ve ran races where it was cold, 21c and the car drove not as well 🤷♂️ Iracing and psi adjustments are worthless. Oh, also, do you run a curve on your throttle. Thanks Dave
@@davecamyt I was watching again, and it’s obvious your linear. This car for me is a love hate car. I prefer the gte RSR but no one races that class anymore
I don't get that brake calibration "hack" either. Personally, I think it's stupid. There's no hard limit for how much brake pressure you can use without locking. It depends on the conditons, the tire temp, brake temp, brake fluid temp (if modeled), the amount of downforce you have, the place on the track (whether the car is "getting light" or being compressed"), the type of track surface, etc. So all that hack does is limit how much pressure you can use. Many of those conditions will change throughout a race, so it's almost impossible to set it perfectly. If it's too low, you are leaving performance on the table. If it's too high, then what's the point? You can still lock up. Also, I like the new format with more views and info about what's going on in the race.
Hi Dave, why not extent this even more: Try to have a post race video chat with the guys you have been fighting with so they can give their pov personally?
I hate this track because of off tracks. You need to be on the edge of off tracks to be fast and i just dont like that at all. I like these camera angles alot.
Editing is great, but 4 hours... man... I would still watch video without this fancy angles, so it's up to you to decide. I would rather you spend this time on more driving practice and get to 6k irating😀
Love the idea of bringing other ‘characters’ into your story, Dave. But using other POVs for the sake of it loses the continuity and doesn’t provide much interest. You missed the opportunity to use those views for the Galtsaf overtake or the Holdo tankslapper. Use other cameras to show incidents that affect you or those around you.
Yeah maybe, but those moments being a different camera would ruin the continuity of that move. Maybe a replay of those moments would be better. I dunno, it's all experimental 😁

love the editing dave. the production on the videos is great!! good driving there too. keep it up!!!
I’ve definitely enjoyed the additional views, race analysis, and “characters”. It’s made the racing even more fun to watch.

Loving the alternate POVs. Excellent editing and racing as always. Can’t wait for the next video!
Those camera angles really make it look like a real race on TV. Love it!
Loving the new editing Dave - as always keeping it fresh - great driving again - congrats on the 5.2k ...
Hold the on board cams a bit longer Dave, love watching your car dance around behind off the leaders back wing!
Awesome!
Cracking video Davey. Lovely driving. This is a proper combo! Love the additional angles. Nout better than a Davecam Porsche Cup race. RIP Punter.

superb presentation., it is one of the things that separates you from the crowd. That and the Dad energy lol

I did, but changed it. I don't know about anyone else but I'd prefer the 'moments' to be from my view. I hear you though 👍
Good video as usual Dave 👍 but one thing you said is why most people don't like smurf accounts "I'm using this account so maybe I practiced a bit more"
Practice just adds pace for me. I'd never go out wobbling around 👍
Poor Punter with the disaster montage at the end there
Dave I would love to see a race on the new rFactor 2 built in ranking system, it has some good series going.
Fantastic drive mate!
I like the instant replays not too bothered about the other angles tho mate
I'll vote for punter!
Yes! Enjoyed the views
Me: Man, I swear, if he says "Dry Sack one more time..."
Dave Cam: ... says Dry Sack eight more times... : )
Editing works well 👌
Any chance of a pedal cam? Would be helpful to see your braking and throttle control as the race goes on

I'm just about to dip my toe into the fixed Porsche series after months of Vee and 86 build up, any tips Dave? 😊
Brake early 😁
You can always release the brakes a little, but much more difficult to stop a wheel locking
Editing is on point dave 👌

Edits is great! Youre sementing your position as the best racing youtuber now!
😂 Always entertaining. Not bad for an old bloke
Barry punter is a nice name as well
Hey Dave did you Go back to tripples?
Yes a few weeks ago
I feel you need more storytelling for the other drivers to get connected to them, but trail and erro. Keep up the good work
Show the qualifier lap, we want see the dave cam full pacee
It's all Punter, ha.
Feels like a missed opportunity for “nobody wants skid marks at dry sack”
Dry sack? Ironic because there probably isnt a dry sack on the grid.
I wonder if drysack has anything to do with it being the scene of Schumacher’s attempted murder on Villeneauve in 97😂
I wonder what they call that corner in the rain lol

Not in my mind 😁
Please stop saying dry sack , my belly hurts from laughing 😅
I don't care for the other players veiw. I would rather see it from your car's view to the others.
Nice camera angles, but without the transition effects would be loads better.
Just like someone said with a transition would be better on the video before that 🤣
@DaveCamYT Aye fair enough Dave, you can't win. 😂
The name could be worse. It could be "Wet Sack."
Is that worse?
Dry sack? I mean it’s not as good as Top Rack, but you can’t have it all.
not a fan of the other alternative cameras.
