  • A few tracks had to be removed because they got claimed by UMG or they just didn't have anything really isolatable. I'm pretty sure all of these tracks have bass and/or drums atleast (when present), and some have a few other things as well... A few of these were uploads on my channel
    0:00 - Back in the U.S.S.R.
    2:31 - Dear Prudence
    5:01 - Glass Onion
    6:53 - Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da
    10:00 - Wild Honey Pie
10:54 - The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill
13:59 - While My Guitar Gently Weeps
    18:45 - Happiness Is a Warm Gun
    21:18 - Martha My Dear
    23:10 - I'm So Tired
    25:12 - Piggies
    27:02 - Rocky Raccoon
    30:35 - Don't Pass Me By
34:10 - Why Don't We Do It in the Road?
    35:49 - Birthday
    38:30 - Mother Nature's Son
39:59 - Everybody's Got Something to Hide Except Me and My Monkey
    42:24 - Sexy Sadie
    45:32 - Helter Skelter (section)
    49:40 - Long, Long, Long
    52:38 - Revolution 1 (ending)
    53:47 - Honey Pie
    55:55 - Savoy Truffle
    58:50 - Cry Baby Cry
    1:01:50 - Revolution 9 (sound effects)

Considering that Ringo didn't play at all on 'Back In The USSR', it is interesting to evaluate the drumming since it was apparently it was played in pieces by John, Paul and George.
'Dear Prudence is supposed to be all Paul. At first it sounds about right, but then he suddenly improved towards the end. Some say Ringo did some work here.
However, you can easily tell in 'Glass Onion' that there is a guy playing who is very comfortable on drums. Ringo, of course.

  • @strangemarkings
    @strangemarkings 2 роки тому +69

Ringo has such an amazing ability to take even simplistic drum parts and make them so tasty to listen to. Then add in the fact that his kit was probably the best sounding and best recorded of the 60s and you get something truly special.

I think that's Ringo's drumming overdubbed at the end, you can hear a definite change in the drumming style around 4:10, sounds like a tape splice.

@@justanotherrandomcrit8115 I think that's a bit too technical for Paul, and it sound's more like Ringo's loose style, do you have a link or citation where Paul played the overdubbed bit at the end?
Edit: After doing some digging and scrounging forums, there seems to be quite a bit of back and forth.
But, there is definite cause to believe that Paul did in fact play the overdubs, as some have noted that the mixing for Dear Prudence was completed long before Ringo re-joined the band.
If it really is Paul, I'm definitely surprised, i've never seen or heard Paul drumming like that, even in his solo career. His drumming always felt mechanical to me.

@@riogrande163 I've never been able to find any solid evidence suggesting it was Ringo, since all recording took place between 28-30 August 1968, and Ringo didn't return until 3 September.
While the part is a bit more technical chops wise than the rest of the song, I don't necessarily think it was anything Paul was incapable of.
