I'm an iPhone 14 Pro Max user. I noticed the S24 Ultra on display at the local phone store - that display is seriously amazing to look at. Fired up an HDR 4K video on it, absolutely stunning.

Yes exactly. Personally I switched to Apple with a iPhone 6. It took me a while to get used to it. My fiest Apple product was an iPad which prompted the change. I now have a 13PM. I also ise a MacBook Air.
If you're used to iOS, go with the iPhone 15 Pro Max. If you're used to Android, go with the Galaxy S24 Ultra (though I'd recommend the Galaxy S24 Plus because it's easier to hold and a bit cheaper, too).
It depends also on when you compare them September 2023: iPhone 15 Pro Max was better than the S23 Ultra Now: S24 Ultra is better than iPhone 15 Pro Max September 2024: iPhone 16 Pro Max should be better than S24 Ultra But yeah the main raison is the OS
And not just android, more like which UI over android, I still think Samsung does it the best with one UI and out of all the androids it is the most complete when it comes to eco systems and windows desktop integration.
I have both but my SIM card is in my s24u. I have a tab s9 u, buds pro 2 and watch 6 classic and all syncs to my built gaming work pc. I also have the 15pm air pods pro2 , watch ultra 2 and Mac mini. Best of both worlds and I use google cloud storage and one drive. Both are great but if I could only have one for me it’s the Samsung. It’s more open and free and believe it or not more user friendly. I have found that it takes three more steps on iOS to do one certain simple things than the Samsung. I could go into very much more detail but I’ll leave that for the reviewers until my channel is ready.
Walking in the store, I have to envy Samsung's much smoother display than the one on the iPhone (sic!) Comparing the two phones side by side, even scrolling through a list is much smoother on Samsung's phones than Apple's (even though they both have 120 hz) I don't know what it depends on, maybe a software issue and legendered "Pro Motion", or I don't know what the issue is. It annoys me a lot because my eye can see it. Has anyone noticed this too?
Great comparison. Especially because you used the same wall paper on both. It shows how great the screens are and how we can compare them ourselves. Thanks!
Amazing review! Unfortunately it doesn’t make choosing one device over the other any easier 😂 I have an iPhone 11, iPad Mini 6 and an Apple Watch, so you’d think that I would automatically go for the 15. However, I’ve been itching to switch back to Android since the Z Folds became a thing, and while I’ve pretty gotten over the hype of foldables, the S24 Ultra is a very, VERY tempting proposition.
Great video Aaron! Nice to see the unbiased review. We know you are an avid Apple user, but you are able to review an item without that clouding your judgement. Well done.
I've had my S24 Ultra for 3 weeks now without a screen protector. I can't find a scratch on the screen. I'm a handyman and keep my phone in the back pocket with case. My previous S20 Ultra ended up with minor scratches on the display after 2 years with no screen protector. At this rate, with the new phone, I think it might go years with minimal display scratches. I don't like screen protectors by the way.
This year Samsung wins not gonna lie better features no lag impressive camera no bug things, in iPhone we even have lag on notifications or beta updates and day by day iPhone kinda getting slower by updates and Im even iphone user but this year we should salute to Samsung S24 🫡❤️ And free Palestine 🇵🇸🍉❤️
I can assure you the S24 ultra has bugs! I'm using it right now. Inconsistent battery life. Receiving notifications on time is a bit of a lottery and the video playback in the likes of netflix and paramount is a stuttering mess. I'm getting rid of the S24 ultra for the 15 pro max this week.
@@TheGreatPartt yeah I'm getting the 15 pro max this week. The S24 ultra is a fantastic phone but too many bugs for me. Hopefully I don't find any bugs on the iPhone haha
I have an S22 Ultra and an IPhone 14plus, I'm going to upgrade to the S24 Ultra. I went to Bestbuy and I spent some time checking the S24 Ultra. Samsung did a great job with the S24 Ultra. I thank you for making this honest comparison. God bless. ✌️😊
I was thinking about the s24 ultra in Case if my s22 ultra will not support the carrier that I will be switching to. I will have to unlock it since my s22 ultra is AT&T and I wanted to switch to spectrum or mint mobile.
Hey Aaron , really appreciate you mentioning PWM in your videos , i hope more companies find a fix for this . Even at 480hz pwm bothers my eyes so just waiting for apple/samsung to come up with a solution. Thanks again!
I have the iPhone 15 Pro Max I used to Samsung no 10+ and honestly I miss Samsung phone a few months. I will be going back to Samsung and getting the 24 ultra.😊
You are a wonderful person and I have been following you for a while.. The truth does not hurt and I am an Apple user, but the Ultra looks great in your presentation. Thank you
For right now Ill stick with apple but android is becoming more and more tempting. They are incredibly close now. Nothing quite so spectacular for me to switch though
I am a Samsung Galaxy user and I am happy I watched the video. My daughter wants me to switch to iPhone but I am a Windows, Tablet and Fitbit watch user. I would have to buy iPad and apple watch. Verizon is making a deal for all 3 new Samsung items for a small fee. But I can't do it with iPhone. So I think I will stick with Galaxy for now.
Hi Aaron! I have had this bug for at least 2 years on my iPhone 12 Pro Max and now my current 15 Pro max, where when the phone gets overly warm from being in the sun or doing a stress test benchmark or something like that, Siri’s voice becomes very cloudy and makes a static type sound, and like its very far away or super distant and broken up.
I don't care who has the best camera or is the fastest phone in benchmarks. Every flagship smartphone takes super pictures and video's and is blazing fast. 97% of all smartphone users don't even see the differences. I'm a SMARTPHONE user so I want the best screen (dpi/brightness/anti-glare), best battery, best/most usablility and productivity options, best gaming- and multi-media experience, best personalization options and best innovation. I want DEX, KNOX, S-PEN, call recording, multi-tasking, multi-window, fingerprint scanner, best screen, widgets, themes, integration with windows, the biggest eco-system (Samsung SmartThings), fast charging, fast wireless charging and I want AI. On all these aspects the S24 Ultra is destroying the iphone 15 PM big time. So why keep people buying these antiquated, restricted and very very limited iphones?
I like iPhones more when it comes down to payments and transactions. The galaxy is fun though and feels more for personal stuff. I have iPhone 14 Pro Max and galaxy 23+. Won’t upgrade the iPhone for a while but I’m getting that s24 ultra.
Great comparison Aaron! The camera comparisons and detailed insights into the build, display and performance really help in making an informed decision. Personally, I'm leaning towards the S24 Ultra for its impressive features and improvements in the display technology as a secondary phone, still I love using an iPhone as my daily driver
I traded in my iphone 15 pro max for the Ultra 24. I'm really enjoying the phone and glad I picked it up. The iphone has gotten really boring and this is the first Samsung phone in years and they've made solid improvements since my galaxy 9.
The photos seem brighter on the 15 Pro Max, and therefore looked better to me. Especially in the section where you asking us to comment. Overall, both phones take great photos & videos.
Yesterday i bought S24 Ultra, i upgraded from S21 ultra. This is mine 7 th android phone in my life, i have never been used an Iphone. I just don't like it. Samsung is doing a very good job over the years, their phones are just more functional. That's it.
Samsung has different price policies in my country. Prices are already ridiculous here but S24U 1TB is 625$ cheaper than iPhone 15 ProMax 1TB and 425$ for 256Gb version.
I've been a IPhone user since the IPhone 3GS back in the days, sadly in my opinion IOS have degreed over the years, ofcourse there were alot of new functions wich is amazing, but in the past bugs that were discovered got fixed way faster then now, its been more then a year and as an example the Notification bug still hasn't been patched, the volume slider bug was been here for months already, that way i made the switch to Samsung and left my IPhone behind, i know that every software has bugs, but it seems like they dont focus on bug reports as they did in the past, where alot of people were reporting it and it got fixed within weeks. Even thought i still keep an eye on every video you post to keep up to date with information :)
Great video Aaron. I'm in a blessed situation where I'm able to use both operating systems on a daily basis. I use a 15 Pro Max on my personal line and my job requires an android phone due to our company app. I'm using a OnePlus Open on my business line. For years the iPhone had a huge lead in processing power and battery efficiency. That's no longer the case. Once Qualcomm released the 8 Gen 1, Android has really been closing the gap on Apple. Qualcomm chips do much better with heat than Apple does at this point. Android functionality and features really are starting to lap Apple. The 15 Pro Max is by far the best iPhone in years but iOS is really becoming very stale. The OnePlus Open is the best phone I've ever used and rarely use my iPhone. I do love the overall family of products Apple offers and use my iPad Pro 12.9 and Airpod Pro 2 on a regular basis. I also love the Apple Watch Ultra and use that on the weekends but I really think Apples watches are due for a major design overhaul. During the week it's the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Classic which is just beautiful and works well with my OnePlus Open. Android has caught up and really blown past Apple in many ways. Whether it's processing power, battery life, OS smoothness, cameras, even in video. All of this along with all the new AI and software features have really leapfrogged what Apple is offering from specifically a standalone device like a phone. What many people don't talk about is that for years, Apple was all about polish and efficiency while Android was about features and options while usually sacrificing that efficiency. Over the past few years though, Android has continued to add more and more features while at the same time getting more and more efficient and smooth. Apple on the other hand, has attempted to make changes to iOS and add features, but iOS has become far more buggy than Android and is nowhere near as smooth or efficient as it once was. it really is disappointing.
For me I’m actually considering ditching my 15 pro max as much as it’s hard to I just can’t deny that the S24 ultra is such an amazing phone and has got everything that I wanted in a phone.
Besides the S Pen, AI (coming with iOS 18 to iPhone) and some niche customization options both phones are actually quite similar. What makes it that much more amazing?
I like both platforms and bounce around I’ve had every note from the 7-10 and the z fold 3 then got the IPhone 13pro max and got the 17.4beta and the 15pro max and I love the feel and the premium feel of the iPhone 15pro max; software wise I only miss split-screen and the ability to split Bluetooth volume; apples now enables side loading apps/app stores so they are heading in the right direction all be it they were forced too

Jeez what are you doing on your 15 PM to drain the battery so fast? I get way longer life than you. My last 10 days I have 5.5 hours average screen on + 1 hr 44 screen idle (when the screen is on but you arent actively using the phone) and my average battery usage is about 50%. So extrapolating that out I would get easily over 10 hours of screen on time. Picking the best day from my last 10 I had 7hrs 28mins screen on + 2hrs 2m screen idle and used about 65% battery. Picking the worst day in the last 10 I had 3hrs 35mins screen on + 4hrs 14 mins screen idle and used ~35% battery. The most battery I have used on any day in the last 10 days was about ~70% and most were closer to 50%. That's amazing battery life IMO.
Ive challenged this channel a lot but he is definitely the most honest , real and transparent channel as far as comparing top shelf android vs iPhone ! It will be interesting to see how Apple tries to compete in the AI forum in the future
Iphone 16 is coming out in September. Then a comparison of iphone 16 to S24 Ultra will come out. That would be a more fair review in my opinion since they'll both be 2024 phones. I've been a Samsung user for over 10 years( currently using Note 10 plus) and I'm considering an iphone for the first time ever. Waiting for the iphone 16 to come out before I decide to upgrade! Thanks for the great review 😊
Would love to see wallet comparison. I want to try Samsung but can’t use the Apple wallet which I heavily rely on. How good is google wallet? Would love to see comparison
Just recently switched over from i phone to Samsung. You'll come across certain challenges such as missing out on i message and face time but I'd say google wallet is actually an upgrade.

If Samsung eventually brings back expandable storage so I can use my micro sd cards, I'll definitely make the switch back. For now I'll continue to carry both my 15 pro max and my Note 20 Ultra for it's S Pen features and storage capacity.
They won't. They already learned from Apple that you can make more money by having overpriced non-expandable storage then shoving subscription-based cloud storage down our throats. 😂
Pretty impressed with the S24 Ultra. The S24 Ultra is attracting a lot of people due to how it stepped up its game hardware wise and with those Smart AI Features. If Apple could just somehow make the AI features on the S24 Ultra, or other new AI features available on older iPhones (as long as it’s capable hardware wise) with just an iOS update, then the momentum might just shift back to Apple. Kudos to Samsung for stepping up the competition! Your move Apple!
Appreciate your review. Day three in s24 Ultra. I'm a Windows and Linux user. So Apple ecosystem isn't a big advantage for me. I generally prefer Android OS but much respect for the iPhone's video capabilities. The battery is still "learning" but it appears like it will be a solid experience in that regard.
Still using IPhone 13 Pro Max, don’t intend to buy other Ill replace the battery when reach 70% current is 88%. iPhone 15 Pro and Max have poor battery life. Samsung S24 Ultra seams to be a hit. I always used iPhone but S24 Ultra if I have the money I would given a try definitely.
The anti reflective coating seems to affect the clarity a little. It’s ever so slightly matte so sometimes you get a blooming effect. I’m still debating whether I like it or not. I’m so used to the crystal clear glass that doesn’t have the anti reflective coating. 🤔
As an iPhone user I must admit that S24U won this, but not with a big difference. Interesting to see, that big camera differences on paper wasn't so noticeable on the camera test. I still like my ip14pm, and will probably use it for a few more years, it's interesting to see if I still continue on apple, or will I change to android! Really good video tho, thanks for that!
I traded my 13 pro max for s24 ultra. Pretty good deal. Still learning on android and much more fun after using ios for more than ten years. Good job samsung.

As someone who has both the Samsung is better at screen, battery, customization, charge speed, connectivity, multi-tasking, sideloading apps, and dex. The iphone has a smoother OS, better quality apps all around, ios integration with everyday tasks(shopping, new apps, etc.), reliable quick updates often, ad blocking consistency, customer service.
I have an iPhone and thinking about a new device but it’s like with the s24 ultra 1,300 price tag your just like should you even consider it at that price. If I pay 1,300 for a device and next year its resell value drops to 600 that’s really bad.
iPhone 15 Pro Max: $1199 - it incurs development costs for the hardware, OS, iCloud, data centers maintenance, the App Store & other services, apps developed for iPhone, Webkit, Swift, and so on. Samsung S24 Ultra: $1299 - they have significantly lower costs because Google & Qualcomm supports 80% of them. No need to mention that on iPhone, you enjoy better optimized & designed apps, consistent performance for all users (Samsung is the only company selling 3 different processors with 3 different performances), and, most importantly, you receive OS updates on time, the very minute they are launched, not after a few months! The iPhone and Google Pixel are the only phones that truly justify their price.
Great summary! I am a current Samsung user for over 10 years ( currently using Note 10 plus ) and I'm considering switching to iphone for the first time ever if the iphone 16 wows me. I love Apple's user interface, security, ecosystem works like it's suppose to, their products just look beautiful all the time, and the security and software updates are more synced than Android. Also their support is much better than Samsung's.
Hi Aaron, I have a 14 Pro with poor battery life, screen stuttering and bugs with 94% after a year. According to rumors, the 16 Pro isn’t worth the wait because it’s not gonna be different from the 15 Pro. Should I instead trade in now for the 15 Pro or wait for the 17 Pro instead and replace the battery and get a MagSafe battery pack? Also, would you choose the regular Pro or the Pro Max model?
You’re not buying regular pro model if battery is what matters to you. Pro max is the way to go, but from what we know so far, 16 pro/max will be bigger than previous generations, so a battery upgrade of some sort is to be expected. Im currently using 14 pro max and my batter gets me 2 days no sweat. So im still waiting to see what is 16 going to offer. Friendly advice - Dont go for 15 series as you wont get any real upgrades over 14. Either get a good cheap trade for 14 pro max or simply wait out for 16 series.

I have noticed my battery life has been declining on my 15 Pro Max on iOS 17.3, and on 100% battery health and am at 179 cycles, ever since it got super hot one day on 17.2.1 on my belkin magsafe charger and then I recorded an hour video using cinematic mode.. not sure what changed? It was amazing a month or so ago and then those things happened and really made it decline.
I dont understand how people get scratches on their phones. One year with my S22 ULTRA without a screen protector...it has ZERO scratches. I can go to 5 years with this phone without a single scratch....and i never drop a phone. Always be mindful of where you put your phone.
If you want 1 phone to do all then samsung, if you want phone to pair with iPad, computer, etc then can go for iPhone. Though samsung does it all but with samsung ultra phone you can use it to perform every task without any other device. For me I like open source so can never use iPhone
I use both - iPhone has been my primary for more than a decade and S24 is my second Android device in the Samsung family. My secondary has been a pixel device previously. I am a big fan of flat displays and so love the S24 ultra for having made that switch though S23 ultra was definitely better at battery. iPhone's display has been flat for sometime now. Videos - iPhone always and Photos - both. Samsung devices are known for having some of the best displays, and while I greatly appreciate the anti reflective coating, it takes away the contrast nature of Samsung devices. Anti reflective coating is good to have, but it's not often I see a need for it. I am not a gamer, so high refresh rate doesn't matter as both are great. AI features are good but I think they are a gimick. Circle to search is pretty cool but I haven't used it other than the first day after setting up my S24 ultra. I don't have shit loads of money to keep searching for everything I come across to buy 😂
Hi! I love iphone and now I have 15 pro max but it's a complete mess, I've been using it for three months and there are 45 charging cycles and the battery health has already dropped to 98% and it keeps crashing, it's very slow from time to time, it suddenly jumps from some page to the home screen and or even the screen goes dark, even my 14 pro max with all its bugs was not that bad and it still had 100% battery health after 11 months and I use my phones a lot because I live in the country and it's my main tool because the internet on my computer is slow . What has happened to iphones, why are they getting worse and worse?! Thank you for the video!
I prefer the iPhone 15 Pro Max is almost every way. However, I REALLY like that S24’s Gorilla Armor anti-reflective properties. I’m looking at something like a Flolab screen protector with an AR coating that should reduce reflections without compromising screen brightness and vibrancy. Hopefully it works…
Had the S23 Ultra and the 15 Pro Max last year; seeing as the S24 Ultra isn’t that much more different, I’ll stick with the 15 Pro Max and my OnePlus Open. Not saying the S24 Ultra isn’t bad phone, just wasn’t blown away from my experience with the S23 Ultra.
Have both phones but primary use is iPhone due to ecosystem and family/friends using the same phone. Imp when it comes to iMessage for me. With that said, I prefer the S24U phone but both are great phones.
I’m an iPhone user. Have the whole ecosystem and I would update every year. But I just started my degree for graphic design and I think the S24 ultra soothes my fancy more. So I’m switching my phone. I would prefer to use both, but I can't leave iPhone for its seamless iOS, experience and very polished apps, particularly for the social media and the other apps which Run rock solid on iPhone compared to android. Honestly, the iPhone keyboard and iPhone voice typing is a clear winner for me
Dope comparison!! When it comes overall camera experience iPhone 15PM is miles ahead than S24Ultra (Video zooming in/out and dynamic range are still sketchy)… other than that, it’s a choice between iOS and Android…
I have both now and I cannot tell that one is better than the other. The iPhone does everything right and has better speakers, and CarPlay music sound is far better in my car than Android Auto... the S24 Ultra has multitasking and better customization. Both cameras are fantastic, I prefer IPhone 15 pro max camera but it is not because it is better but because it is somehow smoother.
Comparing both does not work well. iPhone came out last year. The ultra this year and has AI. To be a good comparison, you need to do the ultra and iPhone 16 with iOS 18 which suppose to have AI.
Lol 🤣😂🤣 So, in your opinion, it's less fair to compare 2 smartphones (IPhone 15 Pro Max vs S24 Ultra) that are 3 months apart and processors of the same generation, than to compare, 2 smartphones (iPhone 16 Pro Max vs S24 Ultra), which will be 9 months apart and processors of different generation 🙄

Interesting comments, i had an iPhone since 2010, I’ve give up my 14 pro and got the S24 ultra, I’m blown away
Well done.
I have both. I prefer the Samsung. iPhone is still good. I also don't care about the cameras I use a cinema camera.
This year Samsung wins not gonna lie better features no lag impressive camera no bug things, in iPhone we even have lag on notifications or beta updates and day by day iPhone kinda getting slower by updates and Im even iphone user but this year we should salute to Samsung S24 🫡❤️

Hey Aaron , really appreciate you mentioning PWM in your videos , i hope more companies find a fix for this . Even at 480hz pwm bothers my eyes so just waiting for apple/samsung to come up with a solution. Thanks again!

Every phone gets hot in the sun 😂😂
That’s odd. Are you saying that’s why Siri’s voice does that? I’ve experienced that as well but I don’t see any evidence that it’s related to heat
I have the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Ordering the Galaxy S24 Ultra. I need both! Thx for the review Aaron. ✌🏾
You rich bastard🎉
I am doing the same! My S24 just got here tonight haven’t even opened it yet!
Sold my iphone 15 pro and bought Samsung s24 ultra .enjoying every minute of it.
You can increase the brightness while capturing the photo in Galaxy.
Yesterday i bought S24 Ultra, i upgraded from S21 ultra. This is mine 7 th android phone in my life, i have never been used an Iphone. I just don't like it. Samsung is doing a very good job over the years, their phones are just more functional. That's it.
Wow that iPhone looks and works just like my iPhone 13 Pro Max
Same here. They've been slacking for quite a while now.
There’s way more bugs on Android 😂
@josephpepe2607 i'm using the S23 Ultra as my daily device, and literally haven't noticed one single bug yet (One UI 6.0)
Then switch!
S24 Ultra looking mighty tempting
Besides the S Pen, AI (coming with iOS 18 to iPhone) and some niche customization options both phones are actually quite similar. What makes it that much more amazing?

15 Pro has meh battery life but the 15 Pro Max is really impressive about the same as the 13PM. Consider a phone based on which OS you prefer.
The anti reflective coating seems to affect the clarity a little. It’s ever so slightly matte so sometimes you get a blooming effect. I’m still debating whether I like it or not. I’m so used to the crystal clear glass that doesn’t have the anti reflective coating. 🤔

Me too and I have a Note 10 plus
As someone who has both the Samsung is better at screen, battery, customization, charge speed, connectivity, multi-tasking, sideloading apps, and dex. The iphone has a smoother OS, better quality apps all around, ios integration with everyday tasks(shopping, new apps, etc.), reliable quick updates often, ad blocking consistency, customer service.
Same, I also have both, but I prefer the iPhone more
I have an iPhone and thinking about a new device but it’s like with the s24 ultra 1,300 price tag your just like should you even consider it at that price.

What about the pause option when takig a video Samsung offers. With iPhone you have to stop the video and then take a new one 🤷🏻♂️
Honest comparison. But my 256 gb 15 PM scores better in Geekbench… 7536 in multi core …
Comparing both does not work well. iPhone came out last year. The ultra this year and has AI. To be a good comparison, you need to do the ultra and iPhone 16 with iOS 18 which suppose to have AI.
I’m betting Apple will bring AI features to a few more recent generations of iPhone with AI being a big upgrade with iOS 18.
Maybe ai will come out of the iphones bathtub on the screen
Lol 🤣😂🤣
So, in your opinion, it's less fair to compare 2 smartphones (IPhone 15 Pro Max vs S24 Ultra) that are 3 months apart and processors of the same generation, than to compare, 2 smartphones (iPhone 16 Pro Max vs S24 Ultra), which will be 9 months apart and processors of different generation 🙄
Samsung Galaxy s24 Ultra is beast, samsung forever
S24 Ultra is the first Samsung phone that's actually tempting me to try an Android phone.
Maybe i'll get the S25 next year.
thats what I'll be doing. If iOS 18 and the new iPhones in the fall underwhelm, I'm planning on getting the S25 Ultra next January. I missed out on those sweet preorder deals for the 24u.
S24 ultra fans like and Iphone 15 pro max fans comment with I . Lets see who wins
The 24ultra is a Mind Blowing Phone 📱 Hands down the best.
Iphone user here!! I currently have a iphone 13 pro max and just upgraded to the S24 ultra, its a no no for me its still lagging a bit, going back to my 13 pro max
