Have a nice time gaming! It does not matter what hardware as long as you enjoy games. And here is my story I own ps3, PS4, laptop with gtx 970m and XSX. I’m happy I will be able to play games like horizon forbidden west, GT7, god of war ragnarok (assuming they will work similarly as previous games in the series worked). But with game pass (which I first tried on my laptop) it is simply great for me I still buy titles I want but I played a lot of game pass games, I discovered many titles I might have otherwise never played. And even though gentlemen do not speak about money when I counted the lowest prices of the games I completed (and I played way much more) it was at around 390$ during a year. Which is exceeding what MS charges for a year of Game Pass Ultimate. Even though I’m not a big fan of cloud gaming/streaming games this is a welcome addition on consoles for game pass ultimate. I can start a game give it a try play a few hours to see if I want to download the game.
I just got my Series S about a week ago and i absolutely love it. I am 31 and never owned a console, also I have a humble 32 inch Samsung tv and even though I will upgrade it eventually the Series S is the perfect fit for me and a lot of casual gamers like me. You get great performances for 200€ less then a PS5 or a Series X, and with 13€ a month you can go and play hundreds of games. It’s just perfect
I wish creators would stop saying for “free”. We pay $15 monthly to enjoy the service. It is not free at the end of the day. Free is free. Maybe rephrasing to “Free to play with game pass sub” cause people aren’t the brightest and will assume if they go out and buy an Xbox that they will receive these games free of charge. I’ve noticed this becoming a trend among Xbox content creators.
It is free when you think about even if $10 or $15 you get so many games unlike PS Plus which is worst deal when it come to this new Gen. Wish you Sony Fan boys would wake up and see Xbox has better when it come to gaming.

When people say free. They mean that it's such a good deal to play all these games that it might as well have been free. For the price of a double quarter pounder hamburger meal. Over 400 games and counting and it's growing and growing and the more Microsoft gaming acquisitions the better it gets.
I painted mine matte black. It easily looks 10x better. What I didn't expect is how good the white X button looks contrasted with the black, it is almost like MS wanted you to paint the thing black yourself.
I have no idea if it’ll turn out to be true because leaving it out saves money but there are rumors of a disc version of the Series S and possibly that could come out in black. I love the Series S 🙏💙 personally I love the white, and I recently found a Series X as well. The experience honestly is incredibly similar. And owning both made me realize that if it were not for the high price of the expansion card, it’s amazing if you own both systems or if you want to take your library over to a friend’s house. I could instantly play my games on series x that I had on the card when using series s for a year. Now I have the series s in my bedroom with my old 1080p tv and series x in the living room with my 4k tv. I play both equally still. Can’t find a PS5 anywhere still. But eventually I’ll get it for the exclusives. Usually I’m more into PlayStation although I’ve always owned both. But this generation I’m absolutely in love with what Xbox has done. I feel the PS5 will be just for exclusives this time around. Switch is still my favorite but Xbox comes close now
I was really against the digital only consoles for so long but I just caved and bought a series s and game pass is incredible. I'm more of a casual gamer at the ripe old age of 31 but game pass has me playing games every day again. The small hard drive was a bit concerning to me however with the cloud gaming (that actually works pretty flawlessly) storage hasn't been an issue. Thoroughly enjoying halo infinite and Forza horizon 5 and and a few older games. I'd highly recommend the series s to anyone and this comes from a guy who collects physical games and has a decent PC. Plus they're in stock at retail price. Can't beat that.
I still am against digital-only. I have hundreds of games on Steam, GoG, and Epic, but can't help wondering if I really own any of them. Having physical media means I don't depend on the store existing and whatnot.
Game pass is a disease. Waiting for a Physical release, seeing what's in the box, the anticipation is half the experience. Now it feels cheap, disconnected and will ultimately lead to much less effort being put into games by the developer.

I admit, I only bought a Series S because I love the design. Only 2.6L for $300 and you get a competitive 1080p machine. I don't think that's beatable by any PC. Even if you only play Game Pass games, you're "spending less" than if you bought the games outright. The trick of this is that by "spending less", you end up spending more. But that's a win for them and it's a win for us.
Agreed. Very hard to build a pc that capable at the same price. Microsoft may be selling this at a loss but making up for it with game pass and the Xbox store. This is the first time Xbox might overtake PlayStation

great to talk to my friends to cut down on my phone bill as for games well over prices just like the membership with limited options in the menu. if you not a gamer only play one game PlayStation cheaper for games and the membership half than Xbox S to play online your get your money back in the first year

I wanted the series X but due to not finding it in stock anywhere, I decided to just get the S and put the money I saved towards a good monitor to make the most out of the console's power. This little white box is a beast for its size and price. For only $250 ur getting an SSD with fast loading times, next-gen graphics, up to 1440p resolution, and 60-120 fps support in most games.
Even though i work as an Engineer and absolutely love PS Games, i cannot justify leaving Gamepass behind with whole library of classics and then giving up aprox 300euros just to play few exclusive titles... Playstation 5 Digital Edition is just sad compared to Series S they could sell the console at great loss such as Microsoft does and then keep the user which would quickly turn that loss over into profits, sad as i owned xbox 360 then transitioned to ps3 superslim then to ps4 and this generation back to xbox series s cause of the price and long-term cost, i just cannot justify the cost for something mildly inferior if you exclude these few sony enterteinmant titles.
The only reason I would buy a ps5 is because of the exclusives, but they can wait. I'm just gonna buy the ps5 in about 2-3 years when people begin selling it used, this way I can get a cheap one and I dont have to pay 60$ for each game

Gamepass by default is better than PlayStation's current business model (cheaper, more accessible, allows you to explore a ton of games spanning all genres). So, he's not wrong.

@@KasePrince GamePass does not need to appeal to absolutely everyone. Just the majority. I've been playing Mass Effect trilogy and now the Hitman trilogy. I played the Gunk, Halo Infinite, Forza Horizon 5, and Psychonauts 2. I played Prey, Dishonored, Fallout, The Outer Worlds. But I also played a bunch of indies that were such gems, and I never would have played them otherwise. The amount of games, the variety of games on offer is ridiculous. And for $15 a month, the value is off the charts for most gamers.

Got the Seagate Expansion Card for the Series S and honestly it’s the way to go. I had enough money left over to get a 2560x1440 165hz monitor to go with it and yeah this is definitely next generation gaming for me.

@Jedii Kniight I have a WD 12tb HDD external HD connected to my Series X. I've only used up 12% of capacity of my Xbox's 1tb and the HD 12tb combined with having downloaded almost 40 games now. Some will not run directly from the HD.... but it literally only takes between 2 min to 4 min on average (depending on the game size) to transfer a game from the HD to the internal Xbox storage where it can be played from. Done completely by a couple clicks of a button. Your argument is irrelevant and pointless The WD 12tb HDD external HD costed me $350. It is the best way to go for the cost

And my set up is exactly what I said it was and it works exactly how I said it works.... which is exactly what makes your argument irrelevant and pointless. Having a 12tb external HHD has zero bearing on speed when using it just how I am. Out of all the downloaded games on my consol (which I am currently downloading 3 more games from game pass as I'm typing this).... my Xbox's internal storage is holding 10 of them right now. They are the games I currently am playing the most. And when I want to play one that I have stored on the HDD.... I'll transfer it over to the internal storage and play it. Takes a couple minutes.... oh noessss 😱😱 Common sense is important. Problem?
If PS had a service as good as Gamepass, the digital PS5 would be a very, very attractive product. But right now, the optical drive model is the "cheap" option in the mid-long term.
Series s is amazing value for money though some games looked horrific on my 4k tv that's why I replaced it with series x. For someone who games at 1080p it is an amazing console
I was in the same position...was trying to get the series X but its just comes down to luck. So i said F it im getting the S. Guarantee you won't be disappointed. It's a beast. (Using my 2 TB external I got for 50 bucks)

Xbox Series S is perfect for us who have full-time work. A good 3A game takes at least 20 hours or even 100 hours to be finished. I don't think I can finish 3A games Xbox currently offer. Even if PlayStation has more 3A games, I don't have time to play them so I don't need that expensive machine. One cool thing of Xbox Series S is: I turn off the console but do not turn off the game, and the next time I want to play this game, it just takes like 2 seconds for me to start the game where I left on the progress last time.
PS Plus is also much cheaper and was designed to compete against Xbox Live Gold, not Gamepass. Wait until Sony unveils their version of Gamepass codename project Spartacus.
Loved my series s. Wish I would've gotten the disc PS5 for sure. The digital version looks better , slightly , but the game prices are ridiculous ans they rarely go down below 50 for those AAA games
That's not true at all. I would suggest adding any games you want to your "wishlist" in the Playstation Store and then you need to check the store once a week to see when it goes on sale. They are always having sales, and it's not just on indie or old games.
Does PSN get a 15% discount on all first party games on the store like you get with Xbox Game pass? No? Wow. AND I get to play 90% of the new games that come out for free with my Game pass subscription? It's crazy that play station users can't see the value in that when they're already paying the same price as Game Pass just to play online. "But my exclusives" Yeah, what about them? They're all over rated, you play them once and never go back to them until they get a remaster that you pay full price for again just to play them a second time only to never go back to them. I own both PS5 (Disc) and an Xbox Series S. The series S is better than the PS5 digital but comparing direct games across platforms the PS5 significantly outperforms the Xbox. Trust me the Xbox is very good but it isn’t better.
Exclusives that aren’t really exclusives isn’t something I would be bragging about.. Series s is much better value and game pass literally shits on any thing ps is doing now..

Really good points. I have a digital ps5 and agree with your points, in terms of value for money anyway. I find myself waiting for sales on psn to buy any ps5 games and even then it’s very expensive. I’m considering a seriesS with gamepass.
I don’t think you would regret getting a series s. I am fortunate to own a series x and PS5 and I find myself playing and trying out different games on the series x all thanks to gamepass. Value wise,it is worth buying a series s to gain access to a large library of games for such a low price.

Then why do most people disable the adaptive triggers after a while? I haven't tried it myself, but most people i talk to say it was cool in the beginning but after a while, it introduces a lot of fatigue and it gets old quickly.

I’ll chime in, ps5 controller has better dpad but i dont like the way it curves around the sides, makes it a bit uncomfortable. Xbox controller is more comfortable but has an annoyingly loud dpad

I'm buying a PS5 just for the exclusives, otherwise I see myself doing most of my gaming on the Series S. I just love the console. Gamepass is awesome and MS could have tried to take advantage because they know they have you locked in their ecosystem where you have to buy games digitally, but nope. I find myself buying games very regularly because they're fairly priced when there are promotions.
With the MS Activision/Blizzard news, if it wasn't for the fact that I own a PC I would happily own an Xbox. The PS5 is lacking in so many features it is embarrassing. -No game pass -No Dolby vision -No Auto HDR -Full VRR support on Xbox -Lacking in backwards compatibility -Can't even use my bluetooth headphones with my PS5 -No Dolby Atmos I could go on and on but the PS5 is dire for anything outside of first party exclusives.

@@virtualDan The SSD? An SSD is a storage device, it doesn't do anything for the visuals and overall experience other than loading times. Not an Xbox fan boy either, I don't own an Xbox, I own a PS5 and PC. I have both and I completely disagree. I prefer the PS5 for what matters, games, with way more graphical quality + dualsense. Looking forward to Horizon + GoW + Forspoken. I use the Series S for retro and some, just finished Dante's Inferno. I really would like PS had quick resume, tho, but I just hate Xbox UI mess. Please stop comparing renting games with owning games.

So what you are saying is basically that if you are on a tight budget, then the series s combined with gamepass is fantastic value for money, and i 100% agree. For me, there is just no way I want to swap out my ps5 digital for a series s even if I get the money diff back. I dont buy physical discs at all. I dont care for fps, sports or car games. If there are enough exclusives released on xbox side that I care about (which there isn't at the moment), then i might probably get a series s as complement to my ps5.
I have both systems... No, the S is not better, but it is awesome just the same. I've had PS1,PS2, Xbox, Xbox 360, PS4 and now the PS5 and Series S. I like the way the Series S loads up in terms of speed, and Game pass. The console looks better than the PS5 However, I prefer the PS5 games, the presentation is better be the control is WAY better. I like not having to deal with batteries and battery packs. The graphics are also better on the PS5.

Had my Series S since release and just yesterday i got a PS5 and have never felt better. Graphics,Preformance,Tech,Enjoyment is all upgraded heavily and anyone who says the difference in graphics isnt huge is blind or have never seeen the diff in person

I’ve looked at the PS5 all digital (thinking if I get a PS5), but its both too close to the PS5 in price and doesn’t deal my main concern which was the size. The Series S is the perfect next gen console for me because I’m traveling a lot right now (it legit fits in my carry on without taking too much space or being too heavy). It also fits better in tiny rooms.

@@kill3rbyysight if you travel for work then it’s convenient to have a console to chill out when you get back to your accommodation Also, I’ve recently returned to Japan and had to quarantine at a government hotel for 6 days I had my series s with me which made the experience a pleasant one I was able to play kingdom hearts games the entire stay Ps: i was also away from my fiancé for 3 ish weeks and was able to play back 4 blood with her while at the hotel. Made her feel much better about me being there
The PS5 digital edition is so much more powerful than the series S and the 100 dollar difference is very low when how much better the ps5 digital is. 100 is just the cost reduction from lack of a diskdrive.

I’ve got the disc ps5 and the Xbox series s myself I had the series s before I bought the ps5 and it is really something else, Great games exciting, I also got the 1 tb Hardrive for it and I couldn’t of been happier, I’m always excited to play it along side the ps5 a neat little console for next generation. I recommend this especially for the next gen console to try out for yourselves.
It’s a great sidekick to my PS5. I have both The S and Digital. The S is a great console and if you have a P5 already I highly recommend this over the X
I still believe the PS5 (digital) has a healthy enough lead over the Xbox Series S in overall value. In my opinion, the Series S is tailored towards people who care more about FPS rather than resolution and/or those who don't mind paying for Game Pass. I owned the Xbox One X and there was no way I would've upgraded to the Series S. There were too many lopsided tradeoffs. Furthermore, only some of the games will be in native 1440p and may upscale to 4K. I've seen number of titles appear at 1080p, and that just didn't sit right with me. Despite limited game purchasing options, I do love my digital PS5. I'm not a heavy gamer so I'm unbothered having to wait for a digital sale to catch a game.
I still think consoles making you pay to play multiplayer is a thing of the past that Sony and Microsoft should stop. Even if it's only a few dollars a month, it's such an annoyance
Hahah, no. Sony did free to play online with PS3, and they had 0 security and tons of hackers. I'm perfectly fine paying. If you can't afford it, maybe gaming isn't your priority in life. $10 a month isn't squad. A pack of smokes costs more and I've seen people blast through a pack in a day. No hate, just saying. I'd rather pay for a little security than none being the world we live in now is mostly digital.
I was a PlayStation gamer, I love all the consoles they have made, I owned a 360 for a day and got rid of it. I wanted a ps5 but i currently live in a house share and didn’t have the room for it or for lots of disks. I wanted to own and play a 9th gen so i took a huge gamble and bought a 1TB series x and got ultimate game pass. I’ve never found a game console so right for me I was honestly blown away I never played Forza or halo. And it was £59 cheaper than my ps4.
Definitely prefer my Series S over my PS5 I have most of the exclusives but am yet to be wowed the whole user experience is a lot smoother on Microsofts consoles

My advice as a previous owner for Xbox series s ( now Xbox series x) the graphics down grade on the s it's an abdominal pain, playing doom , remnant ...etc on the both it's a day & night difference in graphics , If u absolutely don't care about the graphics take the s. If u care about the graphics take the x . Again , the difference it's huge between both of them.
Maybe the downgrade is significant on doom but that's solely the fault of the developers and not the console itself because look at side by side comparison videos of forza horizon 5 on the series s and x. The game is a graphical marvel yet it looks almost identical on both the series s as well as x on quality mode

In the end I believe it's totally relate to the type of the gamers , if doesn't bother u the downgrade on graphics its by far the ultimate gaming device with such service and price . If ur a manic obsessed with every detail gamer like I do and I seriously hate this 😒 go for the highest .
The Playstation Plus collection gives access to really great games, some of them have been patched to benefit from the PS5 increased performance. You don't really talk about the sales on the Playstation store, there are many deals on digital games actually and a huge collection of titles to choose from. The Gamepass is not available where I live in Asia, so I can't compare and it seems to have a great value for sure. It all comes down in the end to what kind of games you prefer, and each console Xbox / PS / Switch reaches different target (with some overlap of course), personnaly I like the PS exclusives and I prefer Sony to Microsoft (I really really wouldn't want MS to be in a quasi monopolistic situation like it is in the OS and Office suites worlds...)
Sony is being sued right now because people have proven that Sony will not reduce the price of the games digitally to match physical copies. You may see something like Far Cry 6 on sale on the PS Store for $36, but then Amazon and Best Buy will have it for $30 physically. Sony knew what they were doing when they made the digital only console. That's why they removed digital game codes from online retailers. Don't forget, Sony makes all the money from their digital only sales because they don't have to pay a retailer to carry their games, so it's hilarious that the sales will still be more expensive for the digital copy.
@@Haybud I don't have a lot of experience with digital vs physical as I am a late gamer, so I have many classic games to discover and for these games that are a little old, I find very good deals on PSN and almost all my games are digital (plus I live in Thailand and physical copies are not that easy to find here at discounted prices). I completely agree that going all digital is in the interest of Sony and not at all in the interest of gamers, less choice/competition has never been a good thing (which you can apply to the recent aquisition of gaming studios by either XBOX or Sony). Big changes are coming to the gaming industry, but it is quite normal considering how much money is involved now... I just hope fair competition will remain as it gives incentive to inovate.
Except many of PS Exclusives are made by studios owned by Microsoft and Microsoft already had a monopoly on the Technology behind the console... Sales on PS5 are nowhere near the cost of Gamepass, in europe you can get a series s + gamepass for 24 months for under 400 euros which is great value or 640 euros with series-x paid in batches of 32 euros a month (this already has console + gamepass included). I am an Xbox Gamer, PC Gamer, Nintendo Gamer, Linux User, Mac Gamer and a Playstation 3/4 gamer and trully think that i utterly hate the monopolistic approach of Nintendo and Playstation locking titles behind their consoles,i own a Switch to play 3 games and my ps4 to play just uncharted... at least with Microsoft u get a choice to play it on PC or stream via cloud which in Frankfurt does not lag and isn't locked to 720p with poor bitrate. If Sony or Nintendo would have had the Money they would already have locked market to themselves, just go back and see Windows vs Playstation where Sony laughed at Microsoft that PC will be inferior and Playstation will become a computer then your house will have multiple playstations...

I am no hardcore player so I am ok if I don't ge some of the exclusives from one side as there are so many games to play on either platform. The prices you quote from Xbox and the pass are just too good to be true and it seems like a way to get market shares by fighting on price, which is only good for the consumer in the short term. Game pass makes up for the lack of exclusives Xbox has compared to sony . If I had to pick between my series x or ps5 I'd keep the ps5 even though the xbox feels like a better console with quick resume

If you want to buy digital games, Sony offers a lot of discounts, all the time. Microsoft tends to overcharge. If you don’t want to own the games, gamepass is the best option. On a sidenote, I do think digital games should be cheaper. It is crazy I can buy MK1 on disc in store for 56 euro and digital costs me 75 euro 🤷🏻♂️
I had a series s for a few months I sold it and then bought a ps5 yesterday. Ps5 is great but it's true there's not much games to play on it yet. XBOX Has halo which is free and fun to play and has gamepass even though I'm not much of a gamer anymore Xbox does have a lot to offer where as playstation has a lot of single player games that cost 70 dollars which is too much, hopefully playstations Spartacus can compete with gamepass.
I like the PS5 single player games, but for multiplayer I don’t have much to play with friends. My S/X always has somthing my friends want to play on game pass.
Fun fact, gamepass cost 10euros, wich means 120euros per year to play some of the so called "free games at gamepass". Instead when you buy a game that cost 60 euros ends up being cheaper.
I am tempted to buy an Xbox, but I realized that my most played games on ps4 are Uncharted 4, The Last of Us part II, Spider-Man, Final Fantasy VII, LittleBigPlanet 3, Fall Guys, and God of War. So yeah, if I get an Xbox I won’t have most of the games I want to play.

The problem with Xbox is that they don't have Gran Turismo and I find Forza extremely boring (have it on PC), PS just has better exclusives overall and I've been PlayStation since PS1. But I was thinking of switching over and getting a Xbox Series S at least for a few years until the PS5 slim comes out. The Series S looks very tempting.
Microsoft actually built the Series-S as a 1440p (2k) Console not a 1080p and it can even run certain games at 4k !! Thought I'd mention this as I've seen a few videos like this recently that aren't doing the console justice !!
The Series S runs at 1440p@60Hz, or 1080p@120Hz. Upscaling is not native 4k. The console doesn't even manage many games in 1440p and has to lower the resolution to keep the fps.
@@Nost2682 That's right but I never said it ran Native 4K.....It's no different to how Sony used to promote the Original PS4 though, they said that could run 4K but it was only ever dynamic and upscaled etc. !! Devs are getting better at coding for the Series-S all the time, so they're not having to lower the resolution as much in order to keep the frame rates steady.....There's already quite a few games that can run at the targeted 1440p and 60Fps and more will be coming as they get used to the hardware. Basically, for the price, it's a Great little console that performs really well !!

So performance is a bit all over the place right now but there are plenty of games in development, so it won't be too long before we'll get some proper Next Gen games that are using the RDNA-2 Features, Leveraging the Power and Optimised for them properly.
@@fataldragon69 The problem is that the developers have to optimize for the inferior hardware and that costs time that could be invested in bug fixes. The Series S was advertised as 1440p and 120Hz even on the box, which is incorrect in this context. It has already been tested with the One X and it also manages 1440p@60Hz. The only difference between the consoles is the Hz number and the SSD, otherwise the games look even better on the One X. Everyone always says Next Gen, but that's not true with the Series S, which only exists to sell the Game Pass. There's a reason why you can buy them everywhere. When Sony said 4K for the PS4, nobody believed it anyway, at least not those with a clue. I have a Series X myself and it's gathering dust because I have a PC. All I can say is that if you want to play games from time to time and don't have a powerful PC, then the Series S is a fine console for a small budget (if you don't fill up the hard drive, of course).
I have both and the game quality on the PS5 blows XBOX out of the water. Unless, of course, you simply play spray and pray games like Halo or Battlefield where you just run around like a chicken with your head cut off, die, and run as fast as you can back to the battle. Xbox is more geared towards no thinking FPS games.

I have both Series S and PS5. I bought PS5 only for the exclusives. Else, Gamepass is sheer value as it has better 1st and 3rd party game support which is further improved by backwards compatibility, FPS boost and smart delivery. As of now, for this generation, it's clearly the Xbox which seems to be respecting my time and money more.
Had a series x, since launch.. and recently switched to PS5.. Series x quick resume is horrible and needs to be removed.. caused nothing but problems. And the series always had screen issues when coming out of rest mode, had to restart fully more than once. Then connectivity would stop all together untill I restarted. PS5 seems to be a better running console. Controller is is 10x better And every game seems to run better and have more stuff going on in games. Series s is ruining the series x.... Most series x games are upscaled series s games... Horrible .
@@Swole4life92 Hmm, can't say much about Series X. Maybe it could be a unit specific issue. I have Series S for like an year or so now and everything on this system works flawlessly including quick resume. My only complain could be the reduced download speeds during gameplay. As far as controllers are concerned, I like both of them. Xbox controller feels more comfortable on my hands and I certainly feel it works better when it comes to shooting game. On the other hand, dual sense definitely feel more "next gen" with adaptive triggers and advanced haptics. I was literally blown away when I first played Astro's Playroom.

And here is my story I own ps3, PS4, laptop with gtx 970m and XSX.
I’m happy I will be able to play games like horizon forbidden west, GT7, god of war ragnarok (assuming they will work similarly as previous games in the series worked).
But with game pass (which I first tried on my laptop) it is simply great for me I still buy titles I want but I played a lot of game pass games, I discovered many titles I might have otherwise never played. And even though gentlemen do not speak about money when I counted the lowest prices of the games I completed (and I played way much more) it was at around 390$ during a year. Which is exceeding what MS charges for a year of Game Pass Ultimate. Even though I’m not a big fan of cloud gaming/streaming games this is a welcome addition on consoles for game pass ultimate. I can start a game give it a try play a few hours to see if I want to download the game.

I just got my Series S about a week ago and i absolutely love it. I am 31 and never owned a console, also I have a humble 32 inch Samsung tv and even though I will upgrade it eventually the Series S is the perfect fit for me and a lot of casual gamers like me. You get great performances for 200€ less then a PS5 or a Series X, and with 13€ a month you can go and play hundreds of games. It’s just perfect

I wish creators would stop saying for “free”. We pay $15 monthly to enjoy the service. It is not free at the end of the day. Free is free. Maybe rephrasing to “Free to play with game pass sub” cause people aren’t the brightest and will assume if they go out and buy an Xbox that they will receive these games free of charge. I’ve noticed this becoming a trend among Xbox content creators.

I have no idea if it’ll turn out to be true because leaving it out saves money but there are rumors of a disc version of the Series S and possibly that could come out in black. I love the Series S 🙏💙 personally I love the white, and I recently found a Series X as well. The experience honestly is incredibly similar. And owning both made me realize that if it were not for the high price of the expansion card, it’s amazing if you own both systems or if you want to take your library over to a friend’s house. I could instantly play my games on series x that I had on the card when using series s for a year. Now I have the series s in my bedroom with my old 1080p tv and series x in the living room with my 4k tv. I play both equally still. Can’t find a PS5 anywhere still. But eventually I’ll get it for the exclusives. Usually I’m more into PlayStation although I’ve always owned both. But this generation I’m absolutely in love with what Xbox has done. I feel the PS5 will be just for exclusives this time around. Switch is still my favorite but Xbox comes close now

I was really against the digital only consoles for so long but I just caved and bought a series s and game pass is incredible. I'm more of a casual gamer at the ripe old age of 31 but game pass has me playing games every day again. The small hard drive was a bit concerning to me however with the cloud gaming (that actually works pretty flawlessly) storage hasn't been an issue.
Thoroughly enjoying halo infinite and Forza horizon 5 and and a few older games. I'd highly recommend the series s to anyone and this comes from a guy who collects physical games and has a decent PC.
Plus they're in stock at retail price. Can't beat that.
I have a top-end PC and I still like using the Series S. I can take it anywhere there's a TV/monitor.

Game pass is a disease. Waiting for a Physical release, seeing what's in the box, the anticipation is half the experience. Now it feels cheap, disconnected and will ultimately lead to much less effort being put into games by the developer.

I admit, I only bought a Series S because I love the design. Only 2.6L for $300 and you get a competitive 1080p machine. I don't think that's beatable by any PC. Even if you only play Game Pass games, you're "spending less" than if you bought the games outright. The trick of this is that by "spending less", you end up spending more. But that's a win for them and it's a win for us.

Series S was my first Xbox since the original. It’s fantastic and really changed my mind on the entire Xbox ecosystem.

I wanted the series X but due to not finding it in stock anywhere, I decided to just get the S and put the money I saved towards a good monitor to make the most out of the console's power. This little white box is a beast for its size and price. For only $250 ur getting an SSD with fast loading times, next-gen graphics, up to 1440p resolution, and 60-120 fps support in most games.

Even though i work as an Engineer and absolutely love PS Games, i cannot justify leaving Gamepass behind with whole library of classics and then giving up aprox 300euros just to play few exclusive titles... Playstation 5 Digital Edition is just sad compared to Series S they could sell the console at great loss such as Microsoft does and then keep the user which would quickly turn that loss over into profits, sad as i owned xbox 360 then transitioned to ps3 superslim then to ps4 and this generation back to xbox series s cause of the price and long-term cost, i just cannot justify the cost for something mildly inferior if you exclude these few sony enterteinmant titles.

Gamepass by default is better than PlayStation's current business model (cheaper, more accessible, allows you to explore a ton of games spanning all genres). So, he's not wrong.

But I also played a bunch of indies that were such gems, and I never would have played them otherwise. The amount of games, the variety of games on offer is ridiculous. And for $15 a month, the value is off the charts for most gamers.

Got the Seagate Expansion Card for the Series S and honestly it’s the way to go. I had enough money left over to get a 2560x1440 165hz monitor to go with it and yeah this is definitely next generation gaming for me.

@Jedii Kniight I have a WD 12tb HDD external HD connected to my Series X. I've only used up 12% of capacity of my Xbox's 1tb and the HD 12tb combined with having downloaded almost 40 games now. Some will not run directly from the HD.... but it literally only takes between 2 min to 4 min on average (depending on the game size) to transfer a game from the HD to the internal Xbox storage where it can be played from. Done completely by a couple clicks of a button. Your argument is irrelevant and pointless

Having a 12tb external HHD has zero bearing on speed when using it just how I am. Out of all the downloaded games on my consol (which I am currently downloading 3 more games from game pass as I'm typing this).... my Xbox's internal storage is holding 10 of them right now. They are the games I currently am playing the most. And when I want to play one that I have stored on the HDD.... I'll transfer it over to the internal storage and play it. Takes a couple minutes.... oh noessss 😱😱

Xbox Series S is perfect for us who have full-time work. A good 3A game takes at least 20 hours or even 100 hours to be finished. I don't think I can finish 3A games Xbox currently offer. Even if PlayStation has more 3A games, I don't have time to play them so I don't need that expensive machine. One cool thing of Xbox Series S is: I turn off the console but do not turn off the game, and the next time I want to play this game, it just takes like 2 seconds for me to start the game where I left on the progress last time.

I own both PS5 (Disc) and an Xbox Series S. The series S is better than the PS5 digital but comparing direct games across platforms the PS5 significantly outperforms the Xbox. Trust me the Xbox is very good but it isn’t better.

I NEVER play a game like Call of Duty on my PS5.
The above list, is the only list of games that I play on my PS5.
Most of them are PS4 games actually, but some of them are PS5 enhanced and I want to enjoy them in full potential.
And MANY of them are available in PS Plus.
As a conclusion, honestly as a PC Gamer I HAVE to buy PS4/PS5 to play those titles (titles that I really love).

I'm buying a PS5 just for the exclusives, otherwise I see myself doing most of my gaming on the Series S. I just love the console. Gamepass is awesome and MS could have tried to take advantage because they know they have you locked in their ecosystem where you have to buy games digitally, but nope. I find myself buying games very regularly because they're fairly priced when there are promotions.
With the MS Activision/Blizzard news, if it wasn't for the fact that I own a PC I would happily own an Xbox. The PS5 is lacking in so many features it is embarrassing.

I’ve looked at the PS5 all digital (thinking if I get a PS5), but its both too close to the PS5 in price and doesn’t deal my main concern which was the size. The Series S is the perfect next gen console for me because I’m traveling a lot right now (it legit fits in my carry on without taking too much space or being too heavy). It also fits better in tiny rooms.

I’ve got the disc ps5 and the Xbox series s myself I had the series s before I bought the ps5 and it is really something else, Great games exciting, I also got the 1 tb Hardrive for it and I couldn’t of been happier, I’m always excited to play it along side the ps5 a neat little console for next generation. I recommend this especially for the next gen console to try out for yourselves.

I still believe the PS5 (digital) has a healthy enough lead over the Xbox Series S in overall value. In my opinion, the Series S is tailored towards people who care more about FPS rather than resolution and/or those who don't mind paying for Game Pass. I owned the Xbox One X and there was no way I would've upgraded to the Series S. There were too many lopsided tradeoffs. Furthermore, only some of the games will be in native 1440p and may upscale to 4K. I've seen number of titles appear at 1080p, and that just didn't sit right with me. Despite limited game purchasing options, I do love my digital PS5. I'm not a heavy gamer so I'm unbothered having to wait for a digital sale to catch a game.

I was a PlayStation gamer, I love all the consoles they have made, I owned a 360 for a day and got rid of it. I wanted a ps5 but i currently live in a house share and didn’t have the room for it or for lots of disks. I wanted to own and play a 9th gen so i took a huge gamble and bought a 1TB series x and got ultimate game pass. I’ve never found a game console so right for me I was honestly blown away I never played Forza or halo. And it was £59 cheaper than my ps4.
Definitely prefer my Series S over my PS5 I have most of the exclusives but am yet to be wowed the whole user experience is a lot smoother on Microsofts consoles

My advice as a previous owner for Xbox series s ( now Xbox series x) the graphics down grade on the s it's an abdominal pain, playing doom , remnant ...etc on the both it's a day & night difference in graphics ,

Maybe the downgrade is significant on doom but that's solely the fault of the developers and not the console itself because look at side by side comparison videos of forza horizon 5 on the series s and x. The Playstation Plus collection gives access to really great games, some of them have been patched to benefit from the PS5 increased performance. You don't really talk about the sales on the Playstation store, there are many deals on digital games actually and a huge collection of titles to choose from. The Gamepass is not available where I live in Asia, so I can't compare and it seems to have a great value for sure. It all comes down in the end to what kind of games you prefer, and each console Xbox / PS / Switch reaches different target (with some overlap of course), personnaly I like the PS exclusives and I prefer Sony to Microsoft (I really really wouldn't want MS to be in a quasi monopolistic situation like it is in the OS and Office suites worlds...)
Sony is being sued right now because people have proven that Sony will not reduce the price of the games digitally to match physical copies. You may see something like Far Cry 6 on sale on the PS Store for $36, but then Amazon and Best Buy will have it for $30 physically. Sony knew what they were doing when they made the digital only console. That's why they removed digital game codes from online retailers.
Don't forget, Sony makes all the money from their digital only sales because they don't have to pay a retailer to carry their games, so it's hilarious that the sales will still be more expensive for the digital copy.
@@Haybud I don't have a lot of experience with digital vs physical as I am a late gamer, so I have many classic games to discover and for these games that are a little old, I find very good deals on PSN and almost all my games are digital (plus I live in Thailand and physical copies are not that easy to find here at discounted prices). I completely agree that going all digital is in the interest of Sony and not at all in the interest of gamers, less choice/competition has never been a good thing (which you can apply to the recent aquisition of gaming studios by either XBOX or Sony). Big changes are coming to the gaming industry, but it is quite normal considering how much money is involved now... I just hope fair competition will remain as it gives incentive to inovate.

Sales on PS5 are nowhere near the cost of Gamepass, in europe you can get a series s + gamepass for 24 months for under 400 euros which is great value

I am an Xbox Gamer, PC Gamer, Nintendo Gamer, Linux User, Mac Gamer and a Playstation 3/4 gamer and trully think that i utterly hate the monopolistic approach of Nintendo and Playstation locking titles behind their consoles,i own a Switch to play 3 games and my ps4 to play just uncharted... at least with Microsoft u get a choice to play it on PC or stream via cloud which in Frankfurt does not lag and isn't locked to 720p with poor bitrate.

If you want to buy digital games, Sony offers a lot of discounts, all the time. Microsoft tends to overcharge. If you don’t want to own the games, gamepass is the best option.
On a sidenote, I do think digital games should be cheaper. It is crazy I can buy MK1 on disc in store for 56 euro and digital costs me 75 euro 🤷🏻♂️
I had a series s for a few months I sold it and then bought a ps5 yesterday. Ps5 is great but it's true there's not much games to play on it yet. XBOX Has halo which is free and fun to play and has gamepass even though I'm not much of a gamer anymore Xbox does have a lot to offer where as playstation has a lot of single player games that cost 70 dollars which is too much, hopefully playstations Spartacus can compete with gamepass.

I like the PS5 single player games, but for multiplayer I don’t have much to play with friends. My S/X always has somthing my friends want to play on game pass.

Fun fact, gamepass cost 10euros, wich means 120euros per year to play some of the so called "free games at gamepass". Instead when you buy a game that cost 60 euros ends up being cheaper.

I am tempted to buy an Xbox, but I realized that my most played games on ps4 are Uncharted 4, The Last of Us part II, Spider-Man, Final Fantasy VII, LittleBigPlanet 3, Fall Guys, and God of War. So yeah, if I get an Xbox I won’t have most of the games I want to play.

If u wanna make it easier for urself, get a ps5 and then get game pass ultimate for streaming Xbox games to your phone, tablet, laptop, rig, or Samsung tv.

I don’t feel like the ps store is overpriced. Unless you need a game as soon as it’s launched, the prices are pretty reasonable. And being able to download and never rely on a disc is awesome
The problem with Xbox is that they don't have Gran Turismo and I find Forza extremely boring (have it on PC), PS just has better exclusives overall and I've been PlayStation since PS1. But I was thinking of switching over and getting a Xbox Series S at least for a few years until the PS5 slim comes out. The Series S looks very tempting.

Microsoft actually built the Series-S as a 1440p (2k) Console not a 1080p and it can even run certain games at 4k !!
Thought I'd mention this as I've seen a few videos like this recently that aren't doing the console justice !!
The Series S runs at 1440p@60Hz, or 1080p@120Hz.
Upscaling is not native 4k.
The console doesn't even manage many games in 1440p and has to lower the resolution to keep the fps.
@@Nost2682 That's right but I never said it ran Native 4K.....It's no different to how Sony used to promote the Original PS4 though, they said that could run 4K but it was only ever dynamic and upscaled etc. !!
Devs are getting better at coding for the Series-S all the time, so they're not having to lower the resolution as much in order to keep the frame rates steady.....There's already quite a few games that can run at the targeted 1440p and 60Fps and more will be coming as they get used to the hardware.
Basically, for the price, it's a Great little console that performs really well !!
That’s a lie it barely do 1440 60fps in fact majority of games run 1080 60 fps,don’t get me wrong 1080 60fps it’s not bad but it’s not really new gen console performance at all.
@@Omar-kl3xp it's not a lie at-all, the console can run games like that, but like the Series-X we haven't got any games out that have been made specifically on and for the New Consoles !!
So performance is a bit all over the place right now but there are plenty of games in development, so it won't be too long before we'll get some proper Next Gen games that are using the RDNA-2 Features, Leveraging the Power and Optimised for them properly.

The Series S was advertised as 1440p and 120Hz even on the box, which is incorrect in this context.
It has already been tested with the One X and it also manages 1440p@60Hz.
The only difference between the consoles is the Hz number and the SSD, otherwise the games look even better on the One X.
Everyone always says Next Gen, but that's not true with the Series S, which only exists to sell the Game Pass.
There's a reason why you can buy them everywhere.
When Sony said 4K for the PS4, nobody believed it anyway, at least not those with a clue.
I have a Series X myself and it's gathering dust because I have a PC.
All I can say is that if you want to play games from time to time and don't have a powerful PC, then the Series S is a fine console for a small budget (if you don't fill up the hard drive, of course).

I have both and the game quality on the PS5 blows XBOX out of the water. Unless, of course, you simply play spray and pray games like Halo or Battlefield where you just run around like a chicken with your head cut off, die, and run as fast as you can back to the battle. Xbox is more geared towards no thinking FPS games.

🤔 not even, they've lost players but they're still grossing, Halo infinite is still higher on the steam charts than most, if not, every playstation game there, still in Top 10. Halo infinite and Forza still have a higher consistent player count than any playstation 5 exclusive out today
U wanna talk about loss of players? The single player games that came out ps5 have had an pretty low completion rate, regardless of how any of us fill about those "system sellers".

i have a series s, i dont have a ps5 but im pretty sure that the ps5 is better, the only advantage on the xbox is the game pass , also for example games like wolfenstein 2 look like dog shit on series s wich is unacceptable. so i honestly dont think the series s is better. it doesnt feel next gen at all.

I have both Series S and PS5. I bought PS5 only for the exclusives. Else, Gamepass is sheer value as it has better 1st and 3rd party game support which is further improved by backwards compatibility, FPS boost and smart delivery. As of now, for this generation, it's clearly the Xbox which seems to be respecting my time and money more.
Had a series x, since launch.. and recently switched to PS5..
Series x quick resume is horrible and needs to be removed.. caused nothing but problems. And the series always had screen issues when coming out of rest mode, had to restart fully more than once. Then connectivity would stop all together untill I restarted.
PS5 seems to be a better running console.
Controller is is 10x better
And every game seems to run better and have more stuff going on in games.
Series s is ruining the series x....

I have Series S for like an year or so now and everything on this system works flawlessly including quick resume. My only complain could be the reduced download speeds during gameplay.
As far as controllers are concerned, I like both of them. Xbox controller feels more comfortable on my hands and I certainly feel it works better when it comes to shooting game. On the other hand, dual sense definitely feel more "next gen" with adaptive triggers and advanced haptics. I was literally blown away when I first played Astro's Playroom.
