So the plastic bag is not a play toy? Well that's something that could have been brought to my attention YESTERDAY!!!! My kids were having great fun with it after I took it out of the box, then the next thing I know, one of them is suffocated to death! R.I.P. Cletus.... You were the best 24 year old son a man could ask for. On a more positive note, my house is nice and warm! However, people keep passing out when they use the bathroom, which is where I vented the chimney outlet into. Is there something wrong with this wood furnace? Is this normal? Please respond.
Either the Hotblast 1500 or the 1537G may be installed parallel to an existing forced air furnace or installed as the central furnace for a home. The twin 550 CFM blowers help to deliver up to 139,000 BTU per hour to heat a space as large as 2,400 square feet.
You don't ever use an 90 elbow out of the back of your wood furnace instead you should use a tee with a clean out , just asking for. Trouble and build up there if you just elbow it . It will collect creosote and accumulate that will screw up your natural draft
Hooking one up to an existing oil furnace, can I hook it into the existing exhaust for the oil furnace, and vent through the same exhaust pipe/chimney as the oil furnace, or must it have it's own exhaust?
I'm talking about the universal filter box that goes over your blowers. It has a 13 x 18 inch opening for cold air return and I watched your video and you guys put a 90degree elbow on it and it fit perfect. I could not find anything anywhere so I capped it with a piece of sheet metal I custom made and cut a hole in cap for a 12 inch round. Problem solved still bugs me that their box does not adapt to anything?
I apologize, I see now to what you are referring. I’ve spoken with US Stove and that piece of rectangular offset ductwork is not something they produce. This would have to be purchased from a duct work supplier. Or, of course, the piece could be field fabricated. The manufacturer did indicate that while they do not have this offset piece, they do make a 13”x18” to 10” round conversion piece. If you’re interested in purchasing this piece to replace the piece that you’ve made, please feel free to email us directly at info@elitedeals.com.
Could you please specify which model of furnace you own? Both the duct connections and the chimney connection on US Stove’s current furnace are all 6” diameter round connections. In any case, the certified HVAC installer should be able to provide any duct work or plenum pieces needed for connecting your furnace.
im looking to get one to replace my old woodstove but i got no furnace no duct work so i was wondering if i place the stove pipe where the wood stove is now and take the hot air pipe and place in homemade vent up high on the wall and place the cold return down low in the wall by the floor cause my place is small one level
Hi Travis! You can indeed replace your existing wood stove with this furnace and route the vent pipe in the same location as previously. A couple of previous customers have performed the same type of installation you are interested in, with the supply ducting routed directly from the furnace into the living space and a return duct routed along the floor. The previous customers enclosed the ducting in a framed fur down to hide it, but this is really only necessary for aesthetics. The furnace itself requires significant clearance to combustibles walls and I highly recommend reviewing the product manual to ensure you have the space to accommodate the unit. If you have any further questions or need more help with your specific application, please give us a call at 1-800-618-0601. Thanks, Elite Deals
Thank you i got stone on my walls now where my wood stove is so we are good there just wasnt sure on venting the furnace. So i was just wondering if i just ran it up to a vent plate to move the heat and put the return the same way on the floor in a vent plate thanks for answering we are getting one
Hi Travis, the return air grill can be mounted directly to the return box on the furnace itself, while the supply should be ducted up to approximately 18 inches from the ceiling and then directed horizontally into the room. Ducting the supply to a central location in the room will offer the most even heating of the space. If you have any further questions or need more help with your specific application, please give us a call at 1-800-618-0601. Thanks, Elite Deals

Charles, the video covers your question at 5:56 secs :-)

Do you tie the stove into the return duct work on the oil furnace?

Where did you get the elbow piece coming out of your cold air box I can't find anything to match it. It's 13 x 18 and I can't find it anywhere?
