An old co-worker and friend who i knew from doing consumer electronic repairs along with in the A/V industry from way back in 1989 has been dealing with Next Level HiFi... he went from all Mcintosh gear to Aavik equipment (that is digital amplification) to drive his Blade One Meta's, last i heard from him he was very impressed with how the Aavik handled those speakers... myself like many are hesitant on upgrading from class A or A/B to digital, but Aavik must be doing it pretty good... love the videos Jay, keep it up 👍👍
Awesome video jay. Im always impressed with the sound they put out at Axpona. It would be an end game system if i had the $$. Lars does a great job running the room. Always enjoy the music they play. The music is a nice change from traditional high-fi rooms.
This was my favorite system of the show this year at CAF. I was shocked also when I was told the price of the speakers. If I was starting over this would be it and I would be out a lot less money than I am now.

I agree this seemed the best Borresen demo. I guess it's balanced properly. These X6 (22k) seem far better than the Estelon (20k) speakers. Great video commentary 👍
would love to know if you have a fixed budget like 50k are we better off looking for an integrated solution like this or playing the system matching game by ourselves (to our own individual preferences) or with a very good hifi shop that still runs demos the old skool way. (the new breed of online hifi shop seem to just sell like the algorithm on netflix)
Not knowing how familiar you are with this music, I wonder if you were able to get a good evaluation. I’m sure the large room size helped also. I’m also wondering about the dealer network, where can someone go demo these?
How many people on planet Earth can spread their loudspeakers 17 feet apart... that's an impossible feat for most people's listening rooms... That's unless you live in a large hotel room 😮😅!
Being in the audiophile game is a matter of how easily or difficult your money comes to you. I said that to say, I have been to many listening parties and have heard some great systems, but I have never heard anything that would make me part with 50k for a system. My system is put together for my exacting personal taste and I probably spent about 10k, all in. I guess my money doesn't come to me so easily...lol.
The front of the room is a semi-circle, kind of weird way of setting up a system and that's why you are hearing such a wide sound stage, like a surround sound.
This is really weird.. why not do a sound demo and then talk about the demo? Trying to mash it together is just odd. Especially with the weird music where the singer is almost yelling.
@@trajan350 Haha yeah sounds weird but i also really love Magico and Dali over headphones and are blown away sometimes how good they sound. And don't have that with Borreson so far and seen many video's with them. And in real time it is different sure but you can hear how they sound in real life a little with most speakers
They play technical demonstrations. Because of this I have found tracks that test the upper limits of my system so they do have utility. I think to get an objective opinion of something it helps to not play something that your subjectively so passionate about. Im pretty anti nils lofgren but if the stereo can knock his music out of the park, my cd collection is going to be in pretty good shape 😂
That's fair enough. It's not exactly realistic in the traditional sense, it has a larger-than-life realism that's in the opposite direction of how horn speakers have larger than life realism. That's how I would put it at least.
@@francisraimundo For sure, but this isn't like comparing soft domes and hard domes, rather it's an entirely different presentation. These Borresen tweeters are so incredibly fast they seem faster than life should permit. It's an unnaturally fast replay that is thoroughly impressive and enjoyable for, I would say most people.

I heard all borresen rooms at munich... Definately my favorite sound from source streaming. The Ms are incredible.

Seems like an incredible value.
I see my friend Lars in the room with you. You should ask him what makes Borresen speakers different than others. Great company.
Great value.
Now "That" was impressive as hell!! 50K......all day long. Love the X3 but the X6 is killer, hard to fault. Looks like they need space to shine. 🙃🙃🙃
I heard them too! Best price to value at the show. Punch way above their price class!
This guy cracks me up.
This system was amazing for the price.
Kind of hard to tell while listening on UA-cam through a $40 set of headphones, but it did sound amazing impressive from what I could hear

100% agree

What was the size of the room and how far from the front and side walls? speakers placed?

WOW
Audio group denmark is resetting the bar! Especially for diminished returns. I hope they create some competition in that price range
In order to get same results you’ll need to set them up exactly like in the video (far into the room, close to side walls, significant toe-in).
Lol, you need the same room. It won’t sound like that in your living room.
They sound like that in my much smaller room
Slightly toed in and 8 feet in between the speakers
J , have the aavik steamer and dac mid level .. seriously good stuff for the money

Aavik is good stuff
Jay, what did you think of the big system on the opposite side of the room ?

Exactly spot on. Will not and could not perform the same in a conventional room the same as shown.
Do you like the Beatles? Do they touch you when you hear them?

Time to sell some Wilson Chronosonics and get some Borressens...
Speakers too skinny for me.
