    Everything except for the patty looked amazing. I was expecting a worse score for it but not too surprised the taste was better than it looked.

      Yeah, there was something a little unusual about the smoothness of that patty ;)

    In Japan very often the patty looks more like a meatball.

    A bit confused about the use of the ‘diaper’ in a restaurant. Why have the plate? 😂 while using it they couldn’t even put the burger down!

    • @CriticalEatsJapan
      @CriticalEatsJapan  5 місяців тому

      Usually the diaper is on the side but also pretty standard ---keeps the paws off the food and Japanese burgers can be pretty messy... ;)

    It's good to have variety on the menu, but here it seems like the chef chose to limit the menu so he can perfect his burger craft. Great review & Mahalo for bringing us along!😎👍

    • @CriticalEatsJapan
      @CriticalEatsJapan  5 місяців тому +1

      The burgers are just a part of the overall menu. It does seem more and more common that bakeries dabble in burgers these days as we have come across a few. Usually with really good buns👍

    Those were some delicious looking buns! I'd happily use them! You and Aaron were on the same page almost the whole time. Good seasoning and a flatter patty would have boosted that final score. I'd rather have too many fries than not enough!

    • @CriticalEatsJapan
      @CriticalEatsJapan  5 місяців тому +1

      Yeah, that patty needed some help somehow. The fries were definitely great! 👍

    Paul, when you folded the paper down on your half of the fist burger I'm getting Georgia O'Keefe vibes. It's good, super messy, tiny bit of pink, it's not raw. Top burger, really enjoyable.

    Been an insane month and so have some catching up to do! It’s so rare to see a burger that actually looks like the photo! I guess it makes sense that it would be a bakery. That bread looked divine! That drink looked good if you stir it up enough too! Would be a fun place to visit!

    Regolith is kind of a funny name for a restaurant, as it means the loose surface material of a planet/moon.

    • @CriticalEatsJapan
      @CriticalEatsJapan  4 місяці тому

      It is a curious name. Maybe it has something to do with his garden or maybe he named it after another place he visited in his travels. Just guesses though ---I'll have to ask if I go back...

    Strange that she touched your straw, out of the wrapper, and put it in your drink. Hmmm. Not sure I've ever seen that. #notonmywatch haha

    • @CriticalEatsJapan
      @CriticalEatsJapan  5 місяців тому +1

      Yeah, that is true, they usually do that before bringing it to the table, or let the customer do it...

    • @theendorsement
      @theendorsement 5 місяців тому

      @CriticalEatsJapan ?? Really? Sometimes it comes in your drink? I don't believe there is any sit down restaurant in the US that brings you your dink with the straw already in it. That is so strange to me. Lol lol especially in Japan with the traditions and respect that they are known for. I would not want someone's hands on my straw.. :) stay vigilant Paul hahaha.. I need a guest appearance on Burger Bros!

    Moose is very lean sometimes added with beef,and bear is gamey but tender.

  • @vasyear

    I hope that at least some places in japan their chips are as 2D as theirs are cause that's why there's a lot they're almost like shoe-string potatoes but the burger sounded good.
    I got to say i was a little shocked at how good the burgers were cause when a bakery typicaly branches out like this, the burger bun is the star of the show and not the burger meat itself.
    The burger meat is typicaly less than an after thought.

    • @CriticalEatsJapan
      @CriticalEatsJapan  2 місяці тому

      Yeah, that's pretty much how it was. Though sometimes I really like the thin shoestring fries

    All this talk of wanting the "beefy" flavour in a burger got me thinking: Do you guys use worchestershire sauce in Japan? I feel like adding that to their burgers would really make them taste more like what we're familiar with.

    • @CriticalEatsJapan
      @CriticalEatsJapan  5 місяців тому +1

      Yeah, they have a lot of similar sauces here that they usually just call "sauce" ---mostly for fried foods. I would have enjoyed trying it on a burger
