  • With some time passed since the Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series ended, I felt it was a good time to look back on what many people initially got wrong about this iteration when it first dropped. From the turtles new appearances and roles to Splinters entire new look, I cover it all.

One of the things that I really love about them being different species of turtles in Rise is that the drastic differences feels natural without making the extra details feel unnecessary like Bay Turtles designs.

Its like Rise gave valid explanations and a less grungy take on Bay's turtle designs.
E.g. Instead of tattoos, Mikey has a ton of stickers and painted kneepads.
Instead of just being massive, Raph is based on the largest turtle, spiky shell, snaggle tooth and all. I love it.

Yeah, dude! Rise was awesome! It originally took some time to get used to, but there's so many shows that need the time to find their footing, and Rise was no exception. I really appreciate how Rise wasn't afraid to take a property like the Turtles and change things up to the degree they did. As much as you can do with the Turtles, Rise found new ways to portray them, and ended up making some of my favourite iterations of some of them. Raph was always the tough guy with an attitude, but Rise made him so much more, well, fun, and this Splinter is my favourite of them all, too.

I like to call what Rise Of TMNT did "freeflowing", in that it could have silly episodes, plot episodes and character development episodes all in one, maybe even at the same time. Other shows that do this? OK K.O, Let's Be Heroes and Amphibia. Both are freaking fantastic cause of this, and so is this. Heck, I think even shows like Avatar: The Last Airbender did stuff like that, too.

  • @grimlin903
    @grimlin903 2 роки тому +69

There is so many things I wanna say! (All good things, all good things)
Firstly, THANK YOU FOR THE PRAISE OF THIS SHOW!! I'm tired of the constant hate the incarnation gets just because it's different from all the others. Newsflash people: ALL versions of TMNT are different! Rise even takes a lot of inspiration of the 2003 series!
Second, the Rise Boy's personalities at the core actually aren't that different from their previous versions of them.
Leo is a BIG example of this. Throughout the series, we can see Leo take charge and be serious (Man vs Sewers), think logically (The Gumbus), think of plans on the fly and 5 steps ahead of the enemy (nearly ever episode), and be super self-sacrificing (many..many episodes but mainly shows in the Maze of Death episode and Flush but Never Forgotten). There's also Leo's love of sci-fi movies that is a direct reference to 2012 Leonardo (Leo in that series loved a Star Trek parody called Space Heroes). Leo from other version DO in fact joke around when they can, his one liners are pretty universal. I have more examples with 2012 since I watched it recently, but in the episode where Donnie got hurt from Dr. Rockwell for the first time, Leo was the first to laugh and was the ONLY one making monkey puns with "I bet he went bananas". And in the one episode where Fishface gets his legs, Leo laughs, points his katanas at him, and says "Look, sushi that delivers itself!". Leo appears more laid-back because, well, he is. He doesn't have the crushing weight of oldest brother AND leader on his shoulders. Take that aspect away and we have the Leonardo we all know and love from Rise.
Raph is the second biggest example. In previous versions, he see an angry brute. But that's really not the case. In Ries, we get a look at a Raph that's the oldest, the one that must be the most responsible and HAS to keep his anger buried deep within himself. Most people don't catch this but, Raph is actually quite gentle and protective of his family (and that includes friends since they see them as family too). It's hard to catch sometimes because of his anger problem, but there are moments that really bring it in. Such as the goofing off that he does with Mikey in the 2003 version. Or the many times he has comforted Mikey in the 2012 version (he has moments with the others but Mikey and Raph in the 2012 version are the closests out of the 4 bros). Raph in Rise though, he DOES get highly irritated at times. Like when things don't go as planned, when his brothers don't follow his orders (main example is the Pizza Puffs episode), or when someone else is telling him what to do. Raph LITERALLY says that last one in the Donnie's Gifts episode about the helmet that was barking orders at him, "Well my gift just keeps nagging me. I don't need to be told what to think." I predict that's gonna be a really BIG issue in the movie and we may or may not get the famous Leo vs Raph fight that we usually see from the other versions. In fact, I believe that Savage Raph (Man vs Sewer) might actually be a result of suppressed anger. Raph's not afraid of BEING ALONE, he's afraid of the actions he'll do in that angered state of mind. Raph also has a deep emotional connection to animals like with 2012 Raph.
Donnie IS a little different on the surface of his character, cynical and a "bad boy" but there are times where parts of the other versions pop in. Donnie is a tech genius, not always the smartest in things like emotions or, in some cases, pop culture. Much like the two previous versions. He's sassy and sarcastic, something that has gotten more and more amplified through each incarnation of the Turtles. Donnie in 2012 even created his own tech-bo (though...it didn't end well), and had a space staff that was similar to the bo that Donnie has in Rise. However....it really bothers me when people complain about Donnie's bo-staff when that "simple stick" can break someone's skull open (like Mikey's nunchaku).
Mikey's well...Mikey. He's goofy, loves to have fun, and is the most educated in emotions and pop culture. He's the adorable baby of the family but can also be a little devil in disguise when he wants something, and in previous versions, that aspect of his personality was mostly to bug the crap out of his brothers. They did add two things to his character that I thought were interesting: That he can cook decent food (all Mikey's love cooking but Rise Mikey is actually good at it) and they gave him the love of art that was given to Raph in 2012.
My my...Sorry this comment is so long QvQ
But thank you for anyone who stuck around to read the whole thing! ^^

Thank you so SO much for giving RotTMNT some praise! ^v^ I didn't care about TMNT at all for most of my life, but then my friends suggested that I watch Rise, and though it took me a few eps to get into, by the time we got to the Bug Busters episode, I had fallen in love with it. I love how funny this show is, I love the bond between the four brothers and April and how willing they are to show genuine sibling love towards one another, and I love that we get a Splinter whose arc revolves around moving past trauma and becoming better through the support of family. I also love how this is a series where the bonds of family are more important than sacrifice, contradicting other TMNT series/shows of this nature (see the season 1 and 2 finales, where the power of love and working together is shown to be better than sacrificing/dying for the greater good). This was just such an amazing show, and while I'll be forever sad that it didn't get a fair shot, I can only hope that it keeps gaining fans as the years go on. You spoke so much truth, but I gotta say out of all the good points, the absolute best parts of this iteration is the humor and the heart. It's not just goofy, it's actually funny, which makes the heartfelt moments really hit, like when they are seeking Splinter's approval or just showing brotherly love. The switch from dad first/sensei second was an incredible choice. Note to say that previous Splinters were not parental, but this felt much more realistic of a family that got stringed together by fate. They're all growing, but they're doing it together.

Rise was the show that got me into tmnt as a whole. It was such a fantastic show which so much love and passion poured into it and it deserved so much better than what it got. The fact it was cancelled halway through it's second season and having to wrap up half a season maybe even one more season into 4 episodes, and they still managed to execute that fantastically I feel is such a good testament to how strong of a show this was. It had such a good balance of the more silly and the hard hitting plot and some amazing character writing - not to mention the stunning animation (flying bark studios truly is a kind of it's own they do such awesome work). This show had **so** much heart, I've loved it to bits since I first watched it and I miss it so incredibly much, I really hope we get some news on the movie soon.

I was actually really shocked when I found out people didn't like the new designs. I (as a character artist) REALLY loved them, the thing that got me into the show was the character designs. You can watch it in B&W and still be able to tell the differences between them even in fight scenes. You can a lot about them from their appearance which is a key factor in character design. Mikey's design follows the principles of round vs sharp lines, his round face gives him a more friendly, mikey-y look. Donnie actually has a giant forehead and it shows him as the nerdy type, even the rectangular/square marks on his arms and legs do. They found a species of turtle that when applied to raph, it actually fit his build and character trope, specially with the sharp, spiky shell. Same for leo, having the more generic look and the flashy marks on his face makes it clear that he's the "face man". I could go on and on about the character designs but yeah

I really liked the show since it began airing. The 2003 show and the 90s movies were my earliest introduction to the TMNT franchise. I wish that Nick waited a few years after the 2012 show ended and finished collecting profits from that interation before doing Rise, which I felt was one of the things that made it a commercial failure (I heard Facebook stories of kids growing up with the 2012 series not wanting to give Rise a chance due to how quick the transition was). I'm still looking forward to the movie and I am ok if Nick either decides to continue it or end the show's run. I just hope Nick waits 3-6 years before funding a new cartoon.

I think the thing that I love the most about Rise, is that with the change in roles, more of the characters personality shines through. Also, they made them different ages which I think really helped show why the characters are the way that they are.
Raph is the oldest, with Leo and Donnie 1 year younger, and Mikey 2 years younger. He's not as aggresive as the other turtles, but his personality is all physical. He likes being close with his brothers, and wants to protect them . It's also because he's the leader, that we can explore more of Leo's silly side.
Leo (or Leon) is a lot more lax in this version, because he doesn't have much responsibility as he isn't the original leader. However, it gives way for us to watch his natural leader shine through. In an episode where Raph got knocked out trying to solve the problem physically, Leo stepped in and solved the problem. He's shown to be a good tactician, and when there's the need for it, he's honestly got a lot of potential.
Donnie and Leo are also a lot closer. The fans lovingly dubbing them the "Disaster Twins" as they are the same age. This is my favorite Donnie ever. I like how he really is the tech guy, and how he's more innovative. He solved his soft shell problem by giving himself armor to make up for it. He's upgraded his bo staff, has some super awesome gadgets, but we can see that he's got hubris, and a need to please, which gets him hurt sometimes and it's so relatable.
Mikey (or Miguel as he is called sometimes) reminds me a lot of my little sibling, with the way that he honestly sees the good in people and is funny and silly. But he's also very protective over things that he loves, and when he becomes Dr, Delicate Touch, it's honestly really funny because my younger sibling has no filter too. And the way that sometimes he over exaggerates or gets himself into trouble for doing the wrong thing in the wrong place.
Now Rise April is my favorite April because she's like their sister. She's the closest with Donnie but in a way that there's no awkward love thing. They're legit best friends and it makes for a fun dynamic. Whenever April needs help she'll always have them and she sticks with them too. Also her fight scenes are the best I've ever seen them and her sass is so fun. Whenever the Turtles are going through something big she's right beside them and genuinely cares for them and doesn't make a big deal about them being mutants.
I just love the family dynamics and the way they interact with each other. And the way that they have great qualities that started to shine through as the show went on.

At first, I didn't love Rise of TMNT, but I didn't blindly hate it either. It had to grow on me, but quickly became one of my favorite show at the time. It just really suck that everyone complains about western animations doesn't do anything special or want it to be more like "anime". But almost no one gave Rise chance.
Also, just for the record, I don't like this version of April. She never felt like "April" but more as weird fusion of Casey Jones and Irma.

The more I re-watched this show on Paramount+, the more I appreciate how different Rise tried to be. Yes, sadly I was one of those nasty Rise detractors who said “Ew, this show is too goofy from the last show. Where’s the tragic drama and sense of threat that made 2012 so good? Ignore Rise like the plague!” XD. But after giving the first season of Rise a fresh new watch, this specific incarnation while still not beating 2012 for me, still kept my attention like that previous show did but in a different way with it’s animation, heartfelt moments and it’s quirky but still fun anime-like expressions/humor. Hell, it’s humor alone is kind of like an even crazier version of the jokes & visual gags found in Teen Titans 2003. If I had to give two nitpicks about the show and its production: (1) I think it took a bit too long to get to the drama it was trying to set up. Yeah I do understand that it was primarily more a comedy then it was dramatic, but had the writers focused on the dramatic story earlier, it probably would’ve gotten me more invested in the show sooner then now. (2) I honestly believe Nickelodeon premiered this show WAY too soon! If I remember correctly 2012 wasn’t even finished airing it’s last few episodes in America yet (granted I think they were dumped airing on Nicktoons but still), so the characters & memories of 2012 still weren’t out of everyone’s system by the time Rise came on. Had Nick only waited a year or so, I don’t think Rise’s first impressions wouldn’t have been so negative. While TMNT 2012 is still my favorite (It was THE incarnation that got me invested in the franchise so I have some personal nostalgia to it that’s NEVER gonna go away, sorry), Rise of TMNT has become my second favorite surpassing the 2003 and 1987 shows EASILY, it’s no freaking contest. It’s refreshing to know that we have an incarnation of TMNT where we can just turn our brains off and still have a good time. Good video echo voiceover man. XD

I partially grew up with the 2000's TMNT, then dipped into the 80's, never got around to fully watch 2012's TMNT but got a good sense of it none the less; saying this as someone who has been exposed to a big chunk of TMNT cartoon/animated media, Rise is without a depth THE best interpretation of the franchise imo.
Nothing is too serious, the turtles are distinct, the action is phenomenal, the villains are great fun, there's a surprisingly deep emotional bond between the characters despite the show's tonal goofiness, it owns the name Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and goes all the way in a new, fresh exciting direction that blew me away, and I wish I could experience it all again.
Granted, I was never TOO attached to the franchise to begin with, because it's been such a transformative franchise over the years.

I will say the reduced frames on the funny moments did give the comedy more of an anime feel since anime's low budget at times can make what you see more absurdist. Its why the 2000's Teen Titan series, what I compare Rise to a lot, did since it made the comedy pop, making the eventual serious episodes sprinkled in hit harder.
I do hope, if and when the movie comes out, a follow up series emerges.
If they do, we do another Warren and Hypno episode involving the Ballrooms/Kikis. That way, if LGBTplus reveals happen, they're not non-human exclusive.
Maybe some aliens and/or humans actively antagonising mutants/yokai.

When I found rise I was literalky obsessed. The changes ro the caraters were refreshing and even splinter was portraited well. I always felt like splinter was a bit of a coward in the other shows cuz when did he really help because of his role as a father and not just let his sons deal with an invasion and the shredder and trying to bring karai back and dimension hopping and so on.
April in rise is one of my fave cartoon girls. She has everything i wished 2012 april would at least get a sliver of but it worked out so I don't want to drag 2012 april through mud. Also no unnecessary love interests to give it plot is amazing as well. They are 14.. give them little innocent crushes but not full on obsessions.

I loved *Rise of the TMNT*. It had that *MCU Spider-Man trilogy* vibe to it, where we have been introduced to these characters over and over again, so the creators decided to switch everything up a bit and give us a new bad guy, new-ish origins, and a new villain roster while still keeping some of the beats we know and love. Plus I’m a sucker for Easter eggs and references being hidden in media, and *Rise* has that in almost EVERY EPISODE (for example, in the 2012 series Baxter Stockman kept on getting his name wrong, with almost every time involving his last name being Stockboy. In *Rise,* his name is actually Baxter Stockboy. God I love this show!)

I was older than the original age group for the 2012 but that boys felt very suburban and unreliable to me who grew up in the world inner city. Where ride feels like a bunch of teenagers you will find walking down the street in New York. I'm sure most of us can see why that wouldn't vibe well with the general audience

Honestly, whilst I like Mikey's old surfer bro accent, Rise showed how weird it was for a turtle who grew up in NYC.
Speaking of, I think the coding is helped by the fact that this version of New York is so bright, vibrant and active like in the episode "late fee" as opposed to 2012's 3d Ghost town. I mean, in Rise, you could easily see the turtles moving around in daylight with the excuse of costumes since, well, NY's always got something happening. Frankly, if Rise did a crossover with Pose, I would not have been surprised.

Rise of the TMNT is one of the most goofiest and best version of the tmnt so far, with each turtle being just as as equally autistic as the last, but Each based
on a different species and not conventionally heros from the beginning. Then April is a queen and easily my favorite iteration of the character, she's the same age as the previous april, but nowhere near as irritating or uncomfortable like she was in the past. She proves herself to be capable of fighting with the boys on numerous occasions.
Rise of the teenage mutant ninja turtles is a great show and it makes up for it by being super funny, gorgeously animated and having some damn fine character work
and development. i think the show
deserved better and i'm glad to see

Me and my brothers were fans of the show since it first did the first three episodes before it actually premiered. It was such a great show that I wish people let it grow out like the others instead of writing it off because it wasn't like the originals or even making TTG comparisons because it was in a more comedy style. People just don't like to let shows grow into a bigger unless it's something that they can binge I noticed though that kind of thinking could be going a step too far.
One thing I want to say is that it's a shame that Rise of TMNT isn't getting more attention but the 80s ones are in mainstream media like the games. I feel like a lot things that are being shown of TMNT nowadays could of been perfect for Rise if it was still continuing on because this series would've been a great beat 'em up like how the new game is being like (and feel it would fit a bit more considering they're making April a character to fight in that one.)

Rise has definitely became my most favorite TMNT cartoons in history along with watching the 2012 series. When everything change with the new Rise, I was unsure like everyone else was when it was announce in Comic Con and on Nickelodeon. Many got used to the turtles having the same role, but this went outside the box with the way Rottmnt set the turtles in a new generation. After the premieres and them last couple episodes, I instantly enjoyed the series in is different ways.
What I have enjoy about the series is the family dynamics that the turtles have shown including with April who is like a sister to them. My second reason is the animation crews of Rise took for the fight scenes into a different level of animation where it give that vibe like anime. Lastly, Donnie became my most favorite turtle in this series because of his personality and his character design that makes himself. I would never imagine anyone else voicing Donnie very good than Josh Brener. Even though Donnie is my most favorite, this series in is ways make you enjoy all of the turtles.
I think in half many reasons people didn't give Rottmnt a chance is because of blinds of nostalgia, just make negative comments because others who didn't at least try to watch the series, and the major changes with the roles of the turtles. Some people don't understand that Rise could be meant for new generation kids to look at the TMNT franchise that they can enjoy. Is just like people who enjoy the 80s or 2003 series, and would give some critical hates to the 2012 and that didn't stop anything from kids that time to enjoy it. Rise could been giving the same respect as the other TMNT series.
I'm not forcing anyone to like a certain series, if you don't like it just don't watch or giving it at least one or three episodes a try and still make your choice.
Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles became my comfort pleasure show because it brings me joy whenever I watched it. After the series had got cut short with the finale, I was really devastated that I wasn't over it for the last couple days and one day cried.
But, that's is my long information of how I got into Rottmnt. I will still continue to support Rise in any way possible especially on Twitter that's been going on at least year now. Hopefully when we get this movie on Netflix next year....(sigh) it we'll get some great views and comments that it will be enough for the series to continue. That we'll be one of my greatest gift if so, if not between after the movie then I will still thank the crew for every hard work they put into a whole different series of TMNT.

When you bring Teen Titans Go comparison that franchise is already had a version which is the original TMNT cartoon. A lot of fans who started with the original comics hated that show because it was radically different even one of the co-creators hates it.
when TMNT 2003 came out that it was very faithful comics, but the ones who grew up with the original cartoon is that they hated it because it was not what they grew up with. Even then there was controversy with Shredder being an Alien.
When the series ended that Nick start a new reboot CGI series that a lot of fans push back.
What my point is crossing that fandom doesn't like anything new or different. Yes, eventually they will grow to like them.
But your other point is that series is different from all TMNT. It isn't that much different to be honest when you look at the history of TMNT.
Rise of Turtles style is a bit closer to the original cartoon sense of humor and a bit of characterization. The whole mystic thing was there in comics and other cartoons like the 2003 season 5. Like both Shrudders are Demons. The whole Splitter is related to Turtles that IDW comics had a similar idea with being reincarnations of some family in feudal Japan. The list goes on.
I think fans were shocked that they jump mystics first hand then build up to it like comics or other cartoons. They also expect more tonally closer to the comics than the 80s version.
I think that's why there is a backlash against the series.
Personally for me that I don't hate it or love it. I just find the series okay at best.

But he wasn't just this guy who handed out life lessons and taught ninjitsu. The original Splinter taught his sons ninjitsu so that they'd go and get revenge for him. This Splinter taught his sons ninjitsu because they thought it would be supercool - and then, as kids do, they lost interest when they found out how much training it involved.

I fell in love with show IMMEDIATELY from the first episode fight scene. I never got the hate for rise being too goofy when 2012 was goofy as hell. Talking mind control pizza, donnie gets turned into a car, Mojo Jojo krang, gorilla butt canon robots, napoleon dynamite frog...mikey. but splinter dies and suddenly it's Citizen Kane. 2012 kinda made me dislike tmnt but a more laid back comedic approach was just what the doctor ordered. Plus with 2012 being the "dramatic" series, a comedy was really the only other way they could take the show.

I actually hated the show when it first came out (not trash it on social media kinda hate tho, that's WAYYY too excessive).
For me, I grew up watching the 2003 series while the 2012 was airing.
2003 Leo was actually literally someone my seven year old self looked up to. Because I was an older sibling who had to look after (get this) three younger siblings who (ironically) had similar temperaments to Ralph, Mikey and Donnie. 2003 Leo was like a nice guide book for 'How-to-be-a-responsible-and-good-older-sibling'.
So when 2012 came out (much older than at 7 yrs old lol), I was kinda upset but was willing to give it a chance (after two years had passed lol).
But when Rise came out, I was really didn't like the show (I was given misinformation about it at the time.)
However, after giving it a go, I realized that I loved it. It had an interesting narrative especially since it's a pre-sequeal.
It explored the turtles in a beautifully written narrative. We saw more of Ralph being the leader he wanted to be. He was pretty good actually but at random times lacked foresight.
And it was interesting to see Leo laid back. Having small bursts of the leader we remember him to be.
And after watching it, I was kinda sad that Ralph got his leadership taken away but excited because (I've always been a Leo fan lol).
The show did do justice to Ralph's leadership. I think it showed Ralph's potential. It showed that Ralph could've become a good leader if he were given time to grow and develop. However, I think I understand why Ralph's growth as a leader was thrown out and he was given the role of second in command. Let me explain:
We see signs of Leo's potential. Not dissing on Ralph but when Leo bothered, he thought ahead and faster. He made better quick judgements on the fly whereas it took Ralph longer to do so. In the show, they made it obvious that when Leo tried, he could actually be competent as a leader.
And the thing is, Splinter noticed both. He saw how Ralph took his responsibility as a leader seriously. He was someone who deeply valued his brothers as his BROTHERS before as his teammates. But that's what made him emotional and at times indecisive (which is a quality that slowly ebbs away as the series progresses).
He also saw that Leo was a naturally gifted taction who could account and accommodate for multiple variables and still be correct in orchestrating entire situations to go the way he wanted to. We see this happening in EXTREME clearity "The Lair Games" and "Many Unhappy Returns".
And also the other thing was that Splinter saw that with time, his sons were gaining more enemies. There were more everytime he looked away. I think Splinter wanted them to be safer faster and realized that if he made Leo the official 'leader', Leo would grow exponentially faster than Ralph in that role. Leo was a quick solution to a quickly rising problem because unlike Ralph who thought in "what should I do right now as this whole situation is happening"; we've seen Leo who thinks in "what do I do right now to make this end the way I want without arising suspension".
And had the show been given more time, I think it would've shown that (after Leo being insanely irresponsible first tho). We would've seen him grow serious over time because he'd realize just what is means to be the one "responsible" for his brothers' lives.
The whole dynamic that would come from Leo and Ralph, especially in a more narratively focused point of view would've been amazing.
I really hoped that the show would have more than just one and (basically) half a season. Honestly, I hope that they continue the show some way.
I'm excited for the movie but I still want the show. It had a pretty good point of view and an interesting narrative.

When Rise was first announced, I was not happy… it was such a big change to adjust to. Now having seen the full series and Movie. Yeah it’s good.
It wasn’t afraid to be different and that what makes it the most interesting interpretation. The animation is orgasmic, and these are now my favourite designs for the turtles. The characterisation is (once again) different. But as stated it’s their origin story, they have yet to grow into the more recognisable and mature versions of themselves. Either way I really like this Splinter, April. Donnie is my absolute favourite and I personally love what they did with The Shredder.
My issues come from other things… it’s far too episodic for my liking. And most of the new mutant characters, are extremely forgettable.
To me the show is at its best when it focuses on Character moments and The overarching story. There are some really good episodes that don’t to either that I wouldn’t mind rewatching, but for the most part I just got annoyed when I found out I’d have to sit through an episode that didn’t push the main plot.
But is was all worth it for the 4 part finale. And the movie! Both of which are incredible, and are must watch’s for any TMNT fan.

It's funny with the 2014 Turtles it felt weird to hear them call Splinter dad, but in Rise they call him dad, father, papa~ and it's just... right.

I remember I use to say I hated how the turtles look and how Rise ruined it
But now, I enjoy ROTTMNT and I was wrong about them

I think its wrong to compare Rise to Teen Titans Go. TTG is a pure comedy, while Rise is a Super Hero comedy. A good counter comparison would be the Power Puff girls reboot as that was a show that struggled with its own identity. Rise does a lot different (many of its best villains like Big Mamma and Draxon are new) and even reimagines some other characters in new ways. It also helps that Rise was trying to be its own thing. That being said it just goes to show what good writers, voice actors, and animators can do for a show.

LOVED Rise, and yes, the movie is awesome. Rumor is that Viacom may have used the movie as a way to decide whether or not bring Rise BACK, so far, we haven’t heard anything from them.

totally agree with you on everything!
also about this moment when they are in dark red clothes can be a reference for old comics where they are all in red headmasks and not humorous like there. and now splinter saying that it's not what doing them good but their individuality. in the end they're all still different but got the thing that equates them after knowing about hamato clan and their responsibilities - black elements in the looks. that shows that they are approaching the "original" turtles (also with the leader leonardo and I also really like the fact that he is more of a co-leader with raph) but they are still a rise turtles and they will not be like their old versions their "old fans" are waiting for. I think the rise creators absolutely knew how everyone would react to the changes in this version and added this symbol. and I absolutely love it.

i've loved rottmnt since i first saw it!! i've never seen the other iterations so i didn't really ''get'' the push back it got. i understand changes to something you love can be difficult but this show gets rebooted so often!!
anyways, i fell in love with the art style and the characters Right Away, it had such a perfect balance of comedy and heart that got me really excited to watch everytime it came on.
I wish it hadn't been ended before its' time, the finale is awesome but it definitely feels rushed. the team worked with what they had.

I decided recently to watch the first episode after putting it off for so long. Afterwards there were several things I really liked like the action, the comedy, and even the character design was much better than I thought. Afterwards I was torn, alot of the changes seemed strange to me.
After this review I'm definitely going to give this show a try. TMNT are my favorite superheros and the 2003 show (mainly seasons 1-5) is the most slept on cartoon imo. So thank you for this video. You've earned a subscribe good sir

I was a big fan of the 2012 TMNTs so when it ended and rise started I didn't like the huge changes, but I Emmett I was very biased. Now that it has been a few years I think I'm ready to give rise an actual chance maybe it will change my bias towards the show.

When it first came out as a teaser I was intrigue, knowing that how different this version of TMNT is to like all the other TMNT's I have seen. And I have seen a lot of them the 90's cartoon, the live action movies, the 3D/CGI ones and hell there were mini parody versions of the TMNT that's on UA-cam that I was interested in. But soon after I watch ROTTMNT I freaking love it, it was like an anime version of the TMNT I always wanted. My personal favorite would be the 2014 TMNT but this one is closed to second place(or tie in first). COWABUNGA 💚🐢🐢🐢🐢
