Thanks for continually exposing me to different thinkers who have all come to the conclusion that apokatastasis is the best answer to our situation.
Bulgakov was a very brilliant, insightful and pious theologian.
David Bentley Hart continues to restore my faith in Faith, and for that I am eternally grateful.
Just like biblical and historical evidence proves that jesus and his apostles were vegatarians biblical and historical evidence also proves that the trinity, atonement, original sin and hell are very late misinterpretations and are not supported by the early creed hence its not a part of Christianity I pray that Allah swt revives Christianity both inside and out preserves and protects it and makes its massage be witnessed by all people but at the right moment, place and time

I need to read Sergei Bulgakov.
Very fascinating. Sounds like he was one of the greater thinkers of his time. If I buy one of his books, will it be translated into English?
I only ask since I understand that David speaks like, 6 different languages or something.
Many of his books are translated into English, although I don’t believe that all of his work is as of yet. If you look online for one of his books it should be fairly easy to tell if it is translated into English just from reading the description.
From where can the coincidence of opposites come from but belief?
I am not sure that Bulgakov was influenced by Fichte as much as it was a Kantian reading of Luther. On the other hand, he was not spared romanticism. For example his not insignificant readings of Schleiermacher.

Yes DBH is fond of thinking himself the greatest mind of any group he is a part of, and therefore able to pronounce on who the greatest Orthodox Christian “mind” was before him, etc. Bulgakov was one of many, and not superior to all nor infallible…same with DBH. For Orthodoxy, it’s the mind of Christ that’s important, which the Fathers also taught. This is also what Paloma’s and the dreaded neo-Palamites also taught…the mind of Christ. Maybe one day DBH with all his verbal prowess and giftedness will humble himself enough to see what he cannot see now, something it seems that Bulgakov ultimately did (not unlike Aquinas near his end)
What do you mean humble himself? How did Bulkakov humble himself?
In making this comment you just fall into the same pit. As in now you are obviously above DBH and all the other great minds to make this claim.
Well I’m glad you agree it’s a pit we ought to avoid. I believe DBH is very gifted as I said. I am nowhere near his intellectual equal. But it is clear to me when someone puffs up himself and belittles others, as he did with “the Palamites” and has a pattern of doing. We all should avoid that. Including DBH. Including me and you.
