steps for bottom;
1. chain 10
2. from the second stitch, 1 inc, 2 sc, 3 chains, skip 3 and go into 4th chain, 2sc, 4 sc in 1 stitch (turns the piece) (start hiding the tail) 2sc, 3 sc on the skipped chains, 2sc, 1 inc, cut the tail
3. 1 inc, 3sc, 3 sc on the other side of the skipped chains, 2sc, 3 inc, 8sc, 2 inc
4. 14 sc, slip stitch into the next stitch
5. chain 1, sc around (27x), slip stitch into 28th (start of prev round) (?)
6-10: repeat 5
now, the case should match with the airpod hinge
11. 28 slip stitch
cut string and tie in end

if you use a smaller hook than the yarn weight it is actually better, in my opinion, because the stitches will be tighter (less holes)! although using a smaller hook may be slightly more difficult
