I was raised on Roy and Dale. They where my hero's! A few years ago I was reading their book "Happy Trails" that I bought and I was just just tickled to learn they had adopted children. I am adopted myself, so that made me love them even more then before! To those saying she is not their real daughter I beg to differ, it does not matter what blood runs thru your veins or what is on paper. What matters is in the heart. Nothing else matters. I think Cheryl talks like her Mom and looks like them. When I tell people I am adopted they hardly believe me because I look like Mom. God has a plan for everyone, we just need to give him our reins and guide our life. Both Cheryl and I are blessed to have been adopted and I am sure she agrees with me when I say that we are our parents Daughters! Who cares about DNA?
I WAS IN AWE OF ROY ROGERS. I FOLLOWED HIS PICTURES AND FAMILY THRU THE MOVIE MAGAZINES. WAS IN 7TH HEAVEN WHEN HE CAME ON TV. THIS WAS SUCH A WONDERFUL TREAT TO SEE HIS DAUGHTER NOW AND HEAR OF THE UPDATES. ITS HARD TO BELIEVE I'M 76 AND STILL GUSHING ABOUT ROY ROGERS, BUT HE WAS AND STILL IS MY HELO. THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO AND HAPPY TRAILS TO ALL OF YOU TOO. MARGE
mars k -- hello. just had to respond to your response. I, too, loved Roy! I am now 63 and still to this day remember how much. So jealous that he chose Dale over me. Thought it would wait. LOL
Dale is not her biological mother. She was adopted by Roy and his first wife. Dale only had one child and she died before she was 2. She was the only child that Dale and Roy had. All the other children that Roy and Dale had where adopted . Roy and his 1 st wife Grace, had 2 children after they adopted Cheryl Darlene in 1941. A girl, Linda Lou and Roy Jr.in 1946. Grace died a few days later. Roy and Dale met in 1944. After Grace passed, they married in 1947. They had Robin Elizabeth . The other children where adopted. Mimi, Dodie, Sandy, and Debbie.
Very nice interview. It's good to see Cheryl doing so well. RR was my favorite childhood western hero! Thanks for sharing the video. Best regards, Mick
As a young boy in the 50s I had a Roy Rogers knife and a gun set. Also Dad knew the Iverson and visited the ranch several times, and were regular buyer of western clothes from a store in North Hollywood and got to meet a lot of move people. Burrell "skip" Koepke
Naw they don't need to make new ones. Everyone should just watch the old ones like I have done! Besides they have tryed to make new ones and they turn out horrid. Like the lone ranger. #1 the actors you could not use as role models and they are not pure hearted enough to make a good character because there mindedness shows thru. Inhale watched movies where actors tried to recreate the old days and the just don't get it.
I was a Roy Rogers kid and my older sister was a Gene Autry kid. My grandfather gave me a Hop-a-Long Cassidy and horse toy when Hoppy visited the WI State Fair but grandpa was a Lone Ranger kid. And let’s not forget dusty Tonto.!😤

Great interview. I wish one of the networks would make some new westerns. I feel the young people need better role models. On television today.
