The day happened to be my birthday. Just turned 95. Live in LA, but my heart and head is still in NYC and Central Park means NY to me. You have such a 'wonderful eye for everything in the city. You make the streets, buildings and even the trash cans look lovely. Thank You. I don't know how many Saturdays in the city I have left, but you make then worth remembering.

Matsuo Basho, and if you don't know that he wrote them in the 17th century, you might think that it was said by a poet somewhere in Central Park. The beauty is amazing, thank you Alice. And besides sakura, the collection of times and peoples amazes: Cleopatra's needle, a monument to King Vladislav II Jagiello, Belvidere Castle, Turtle Pond and inimitable meadows of tulips and daffodils. In a word, beauty! Of course, the Belvedere in Vienna is somewhat larger, but this one is also very romantic. And the statue of the king who defeated the Teutonic Order in the 15th century touched me especially as a resident of the city, which was founded by the Teutons in the 13th century. If you were referring to the Midtown Tour it was that the neighborhood was *boring* . It's ambiance was grey, mediocre, reflected in the clothing people wore.
Alice did well with the tour including the book store and gallery walk-thru but Midtown is a business environment. Not much to work with streetwise compared to other sites.
