Wow 500 yen in my country (Brazil) would be something like 18 reais, very cheap. But the opportunists of bonsai market sell very ugly plants for more than 200 reais. A good Shinpaku like this on video they would sell for a bigger fortune just because of the label of "BONSAI". If it's related to bonsai, they make it very very expenive, even if it' a simple sapling. Great for you in Japan selling trees at a honest price. it's nice.
I just looked up how much 500 yen would be in Euro (3€). Then I ragequit the video. A tree like this would be 5000 yen in Europe at least. More likely 10000 yen. Came back here though because I was eager to find out how the result would look like. As always I was not disappointed.

I live in the US now, but I grew up and have built my bonsai career in Japan. Prices of Bonsais in Japan are just too low.
