When you're happy that your team has been mentioned then realise this isn't a good thing and he says that your club hasn't been in the championship since 2004...
To be fair Copa 90 have done the story a few times. Obviously it's not their story to tell exclusively but it would be hard to do a video without saying something they haven't said, or being accused of copying them... but to be fair the Plough Lane chapter is a new one
I'm from Mexico but I find Bolton's fall from the Premier League very sad. They started showing the PL on Mexican cable in the mid 2000s and I would always tune in for Bolton's matches because striker Jared Borgetti played for the club around that time. I hope they can make it back to the PL soon.
Would love to see a fully detailed Bolton video! A lot to cover, from points deductions, winding up orders, administration, players going on strike whilst the owners were one of highest paid in the country, signing a player on a loan to buy then refusing to pay his wages or sign him, successive relegations, starting a season without an official kit playing the youth team and losing 5-0 every week, takeover issues (with special guest Laurence Bassini), electric going off in training ground due to unpaid bills, the sad loss of our old owner, chairman and greatest ever player, selling training ground to stay afloat... To now, one of the form teams in the country playing great football and close to automatic promotion!
My memories of these teams: Blackpool - Charlie Adam Wigan - great team under Roberto Martinez with Victor Moses, Antonio Valencia and Figueroa, won the FA cup against Man City Swindon - none Bradford - none Bolton - JJ Okocha, Kevin Nolan, Anelka, Hierro, Ivan Campo Oldham - none Wimbledon - tennis
I just know bradford city are in this. We may not be a premier league team, but in recent years weve reached a major cup final, beating several premier league teams on our journey. We also battered chelsea at Stamford bridge in their title winning season, becoming the ONLY team that season to not only put four past chelsea at their ground, but one of just two world clubs to come back from 2 goals down to win against them. Weve had some magical memories recently, so the premier league is NOT the be all and end all of modern football glory
Manchester United {1st}, Aston Villa {2nd}, Liverpool {6th}, Spurs {8th}, Manchester City {9th}, Arsenal {10th}, Chelsea {11th}, Everton {13th}, Sheffield United {14th}, Leeds United {17th}, Southampton {18th} and Crystal Palace {20th}, were ALL in the Premier League that season {Palace got relegated having finished 20th of 22}. Newcastle {first}, West Ham {second}, Leicester City {6th} and Wolves {11th} were all in the second tier before it was known as The Championship that season. {Newcastle and West Ham were promoted}. West Brom were 4th in what is now League One and were Promoted that season as Play-off Winners. Brighton were 9th, Fulham 12th and Burnley 13th in the third tier {again now League One}.
You should definitely do a video about Wimbledon and their history, but please do your research and make sure you get things right. It’s almost perfect as we are making our return to plough lane this Tuesday and would be great 👍
I find teams quickly dropping several divisions interesting. For example, Yeovil Town were in the Championship in 2014. They're currently in their 2nd consecutive season in the National League just 6 years later.
My dad predicted that would happen when they went up from league 1. They were effectively a national league side playing 3 divisions higher than they were ready for. Surviving that year in the championship without financial ruin would have been nothing short of a miracle
Ahh so nice to hear my team mentioned! (Bradford Fan) You should do a video on the biggest shock cup wins for small clubs over big ones or suprising comebacks if you've not done one already, such as Bradford v Chelsea back in 2015. A glorious moment! (Unless you are a Chelsea fan!) 😂
Notts County deserves an honorable mention! They were in the top tier just before the PL came into existence, and they are now down in the National League. Come on you Magpies! Notts County and Oldham are excellent choices for FM21 saves.
I went to a Blackpool vs Wigan game in the premier league game courtesy of then Wigan striker Conor Sammon as my dad did work in his house while he was at Kilmarnock FC.

Call me pedantic, but it wasn't known as as the Reebok 'Arena', it was the Reebok Stadium. As someone who followed the PL in the early-mid 90s, it sounds odd to me for it to be called 'Reebok Arena'.
I think the only team (except Wimbledon) that may NEVER return to.the PL is Oldham. Hull I can see returning one day, even Portsmouth. Oldham have far more to climb and even with great owners in a hypothetical future they have 2 mega clubs in the city to contend with. Maybe Swindon as I forgot they were in the PL. That was a ride.
Off the back of this, you need to do a video on the downhill spiral of Bolton Wanderers. 9 years ago they was in the Premier league and now are in the bottom half of league 2!
Would love to see a Seven Footballers with Siblings working in football. (Excluding those in positions they received because of their footballing achievement. Pirlo, Ole, Chech etc. )
Can you do another video on Hull City, or a video that features us in some way. Maybe a what happened to/where are they now on our 2007/08 play off season. You could also do videos like that for teams like Leicester's title winning team, or Wigan's 2011 (I think) FA cup winning team.
As a Wimbledon fan I don’t appreciate the insinuation that we no longer exist. AFC Wimbledon is the direct continuation of Wimbledon FC and we claim all of that history as our own. We’ve overcome more as a club than any club in English football and are establishing ourselves in league 1 (barely but still...)
They had to do well first - Since the Premier League era began "Northern Clubs" have been the BULK of Premier League teams {especially if you include the Midlands in the North but even without the Midlands and Norwich City Northern Clubs probably still account for way more than 50% of all the teams that have been in the Premier League! - Swindon and Wimbledon are of course Southern Clubs but you could also include Ipswich, Charlton and Portsmouth as Southern Clubs who've dropped out of the Premier League and are currently slumming it in League 2. Then there's clubs like Luton Town {91-92}, Millwall {89-90} and Oxford United {87-88} who were all in the Top Flight in the years immediately preceeding the Premier League era + of course Notts County who like Luton dropped out of the top flight in 1992. Watford were in the third tier as recently as 1997-98 though they've spent the last 22 years yo-yoing between the Prem and Division 1/The Championship. Bournemouth were in League Two {the fourth tier} as recently as 2009-10 before their ascension through the divisions into the Prem {though they're now back in the Championship of course}. Brighton topped League One in 2010-11, Southampton finished 2nd to them that season! Wolves were in League One as recently as 2013-14 {for the first time since 1988-89} And 2008-09 was Leicester City's one and only season in the third tier of English Football {they topped League One whilst Leeds United were 4th and lost to Millwall in the Play-Off Semi-Final}.
Random Football Fact of the day: Swedish footballer Boris Lumbana doesn’t only play in Sweden’s second division but has twice attempted to represent his country at Eurovision, securing a top ten hit in the process
Horrible to think how many of these sides have left the Premier league saddled with debt - my side Pompey are no exception. Last year my cousin said he didn't want Pompey back in the Prem as it is just loads of money spent on the potential of mid table mediocrity. The Premier League is even more dominated by the wealthy clubs now than it was during our time at the top table.
@John Saunders Too controversial - see my reply above; many people still don’t accept their new ‘county’ and use the historic and traditional ones, eg Stockport, Cheshire.
Bradford going to be zooming into 2nd in this list pretty quickl, Our team is the worst I've seen in over 20 years watching the club. Really fearing relegation. On another note, I remember being at Valley Parade when we played Wimbledon in 02/03 (I think). The boycott by Wimbledon fans was in full effect, and there were literally only 5 fans in the away end. They scored, and as our 20,000 fans were silent, you could just hear five guys yelling in celebration. It was a really weird and eerie experience.
I'm a Wednesday fan and I really fear we could end up going the way of Bolton! A reckless chairman who might have the clubs interests at heart and I knock him for the money he has invested, however his inability to sell top players for good money instead letting them leave on a free and his reluctance to bring in people with knowledge of football (including the manager) is killing us!
Very interesting video but the story is unimpressive from the Polish point of view. Here are the 7 worst teams formerly competing in I league, later called Ekstraklasa (generally the top level of the Polish system) counting from the season 1990/91. I understand of course the differences in Polish and English sports, political and economic history but there you go - have fun. If I've made any mistake, feel free to challenge. 1. Olimpia Poznań (in 1st L. till 1993) - the club exists but no longer has a football section. 2. Amica Wronki (in 1st L. from 1995 till 2006), three-times winner of Polish cup. - exists but does not have a senior team in any league. 3. Dyskobolia Grodzisk Wielkopolski (in 1st, L. from 1997 till 2008 (one break), the one that sent Manchester City packing in the UEFA cup 2003/04) - klasa okręgowa - 6th/7th tier. 3. Sokół Pniewy (in 1st L. 1993-1995) league V (6th tier). 4. Odra Wodzisław (1st L. - 1996-2010 without break) - league IV (5th tier) 5. Zawisza Bydgoszcz (cup winner 2014) - league IV (5th tier) 6. Szombierki Bytom - league IV (5th tier) 7. Igloopol Dębica - league IV (5th tier). There are also some clubs which are a little higher but too low given their successful history. They include e.g. Ruch Chorzów (now league III - 4th tier) (14 championships, 3 cups).

A reckless chairman who might have the clubs interests at heart and I knock him for the money he has invested, however his inability to sell top players for good money instead letting them leave on a free and his reluctance to bring in people with knowledge of football (including the manager) is killing us!
6:15 Reebok arena ?? arena ? I don't think so. source ? Reebok Stadium surely.
- 1996-2010 without break) - league IV (5th tier)
5. Zawisza Bydgoszcz (cup winner 2014) - league IV (5th tier)
6. Szombierki Bytom - league IV (5th tier)
7. Igloopol Dębica - league IV (5th tier).
There are also some clubs which are a little higher but too low given their successful history. They include e.g. Ruch Chorzów (now league III - 4th tier) (14 championships, 3 cups).
You cant help but feel bad for Bolton
