They actually have the largest growth from birth to adult than all the animals in the world. U can see why with the newborn the size of a jellybean growing to an average male hight of 1.8m

She gave birth but they didn't know it and her sister that is pregnant has the baby and is taking care of the baby

The orang utan has already given birth and her sister had the baby somewhere in the enclosure.

Turns out the mother gave birth already to the baby and the reason she was feeling uncomfortable was because there was some leftover placenta inside of her. It seems that she rejected the baby and (i think) her sister adopted the baby. The thing is, the sister was pregnant as well. She wouldn’t be able to take care of the baby after giving birth to her own.
The baby died shortly a while after. The people in the comments where saying it was because the pregnant mom that adopted the baby wasn’t lactating and the baby died of hunger (some people where denouncing the zoo because they didn’t interfere as well).
C-section is Not a major procedure; only if pre-existing issues have been pre-diagnosed, but any invasive procedure; should be carefully proceeded with; ofcourse.
Wow and I thought humans had it rough
Only human births are though for the mom, other mammal births are though for the baby!

It dies. If the baby couldn’t be strong enough to make its way to the pouch, the survival of the fittest kicks in and removes those weak genes.

This video just ends with orangutan mom on vet er table and they see no baby in the womb and that's it. Nothing is listed as to a continuation so I read through comments and someone very nicely listed a link, which I will put at the top here so are not searching like I did to see what happens/..
