Pete, thanks for video. I wanted to add that there's no point adding the Shazam/Siri option, so save the dollar. Once your song is uploaded to Apple Music it is automatically added for those features. I heard this from another UA-cam channel and tested it out. I didn't check that box and I was still able to Shazam my song "The Darkness". Make sure you use the lyric features in DistroKid, because it's really cool to see the lyrics scroll with the song in Shazam.

1: I’m releasing my bands debut single in months time. I’ve made a teaser video for it! How do I put this on Facebook with a pre saved link?
2: We have a promotion budget of £100. I was thinking about £50 on Facebook, and £50 on Instagram! But, I know Instagram is owned by Facebook, so my question is, is there a way I could pay £100 and get it promoted equally on both sites?

Nice one. Yes, the Musician Plus is very good and gives you more tools to help promote your music. Very important especially given what we are seeing with folks who have been using some of the less official ways to promote through playlists and bought streams.

I have a question, maybe you can help me out with that too:
I uploaded a single as a collaboration on DistroKid with a pre release time of 3 weeks, so it will be online at may. On my Spotify For Artist profile, where you can upload the canvas artwork, the artistname of my collaborator dont show up. On her profile its the same thing, her artistname dont show up in the canvas edit mode. We dont know, how it will be later when the track online on Spotify. Is this normal?

with "has this song been previously release" is it true that that only applies to music distributors and not let's say youtube
in other words, if you released a song on youtube, can you set a release date in the future for dk so you can still apply for playlists? I released a song on youtube and I realized "oh sht I'm on the plus plan, I could've released it through distrokid first"
Yes, UA-cam won’t affect your release status at all so if you have the Musician Plus plan you can still set a future date for release.

May i ask how to upload a double album???I've seen a lot of artists doing that, and i don't know how o do it. I Don't know if it needs an other distrubitor.
So the way albums work in DistroKid and most platforms is that all the tracks are on one. Or you can just release as volume 1 and volume 2 separately. More info at studiolivetoday.com/distrokid
Need advice guys! I’m about to release my first song. But there’s a Single edit, and an extended version.
Do I upload them separately, or choose 2 songs from the drop down menu?
The choice is yours, you can either release as a 2 track “EP” with both songs on one release, or two individual singles.
Hi Pete, Yet another question. I want to release an old song written by us. It has been previously released, way back in 78 and now that album and CD has been recently re-released again by one of the old band members. The album is being promoted on band camp and is available on Amazon ect. Can I still release this song to DistroKid under ‘not previously released’. Of course Barrie and I are creating a new song ( not the original pressing) The original album had a limited copywriter so that we could use our material in the future

Hey so I did the distribution for my album but one songs says error. What do I have to do to fix that because I don’t want to abort it then redo the distribution

there are a bunch of people named Saul, Saúl etc.. but I haven't seen anyone in the music platforms named "Saúl XSZ" specifically so if nobody with my specific name pops up, distrokid will make artists accounts for me because ill be the first one ? Because previously I dropped a song with the name Saúl but people already had that name even though I clicked on create new profile etc.. you know 😅
Yeah, the more different you can make your name from any other artist, the waiter it will be to ensure your music is separate from any other artists online. studiolivetoday.com/distrokid

Awesome tutorial but I’ve heard that Spotify have removed thousands of songs from their sever? Is that true? 🙄🧐
I haven’t heard anything like this sorry? What has happened is that Spotify specifically have removed a lot of songs due to invalid streams, and some of these may have been released via DistroKid.
In short, these were songs which had streams from “bots”, run by companies who sell streams. Artists who have bought these fake streams have been identified and had their music removed.
