Listening to this and surmising that maybe I need to keep it basic this year with a binder and some one subject notebooks even though I haven’t been a student in years 😂
Super thorough video! I wish I had found a video like this when I started my planning journey 4 years ago. I'm sure newbies will really appreciate your hard work for this video.
Great intro to planners. I use Half Letter (Disc) and are readily available in most shops. I am moving to A5 rings for 2025 though. Will continue to use Half Letter for work; I basically build a Work Notebook which includes monthly calendars and sections for my specific work needs.
I use half letter and discovered that Amazon has a nice size selection of half letter inserts, at an affordable price. It’s also easy to make your own inserts, for those of us (me) who suck at measuring/cutting 🤣 fold in half, cut, punch and done! I used to hate rings then I discovered smaller sized rings. I realized it wasn’t the actual rings I hated, just the HUGE ring sizes! Great video explaining everything!
Oh that’s good to know about half letter, thanks for sharing that! And yes I totally understand. I’m moving away from super large rings as well. Thanks so much! ❤️
Hello🤗. I’ve been on this planner journey now 5 yrs and I love it 😍. I started out in personal size which now only used as my wallet. I love experimenting with different sizes..etc half letter and A5. To keep the costs down, I buy mostly preloved because I change my mind in 2.5 sec.😂. As always this is useful information and thanks for sharing 🫶🏾💕.
Hi Felicia! I think that’s the best part about it being a planner journey! You get to try different styles and methods and it evolves with you ❤️ Thanks for sharing!
I moved from spiral and ring to discs in 2024. I will never go back to spiral planners. But I am going back to rings for 2025 for my academic planner. For journaling I'm in discs now but plan to go back to bound in 2025.
Lol it adds up sooo fast! I buy planner supplies throughout the year, but I actually have it as a sinking fund too so around September when I start buying everything for next year, I already have a little pool of money stored away specifically for my planner addiction ❤️
My planner sweet spot is either 7x9 or A5. I’ve tried both ring & disc planners. I like disc a bit more due to it has features of a spiral planner but customizable. I agree that it’s fun experimenting with the different types of planners to find what works best.
Thanks so much! I do have a video on how I store my inserts if you want to check that out - ua-cam.com/video/Un5mNF7yg3M/v-deo.html but essentially I use Clear PVS binders and storage boxes to store past years and then archive them on my shelf. I have one of the covers I use linked in my Amazon storefront (linked in description) if you're interested. They're like 2 for $10 if I'm remembering correctly. Hope that helps 😊
This is a great video💜! I find that life changes are forcing me to change up my planner system, which is so hard when what I had before was working so well. Looking forward to the next video.
WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT A COMMON PLANNER. I AM THINKING OF KEEPING ONE PLANNER FOR MY BUSINESS AND THEN A COMMON PLANNER IF FOR MY LIFE AND ALL THE THINGS NOT WORK RELATED AND A MASTER SCHEDULE.
Hi Kalani! Common Planners are fantastic and they look really upscale and professional - great to use as a business planner. They are bound of course so if you prefer to change your layout or add paper or something to it, you won’t be able to. If you want to use a different planner for your business and the common planner as your “life planner,” a good idea is to map out what things you want to track in your life planner and see if the common planner will have the structure you need. But common planners themselves are high quality very popular agendas. And they look really nice which is always a plus 🥰
@@ThePlannerAisle oh it is a brand. I thought is was a style of planning. I am a ring bound planner and I follow most of your set up ideas. My ring planner feels a little too chunky with all the sections.
@@kalanistone5370 If you still want to use the ring method you can always get slim rings (10-15mm). That way you don’t have to worry as much about bulkiness.
Hi! It’s a nod to the late Ruth Bader Ginsburg, former Supreme Court Justice. If a justice feels that the court got a ruling wrong, they can dissent - basically stating that she disagrees with the ruling and is firmly against the majority. ❤️
Soooooooo glad to see you doing something else besides cloth and paper reviews. I know you’ve done a couple in the past, but this was very very good.
🥰 Thank you so much!

Lol!! Hey one subject notebooks always have a functional purpose 🤗
Excellent advice! Thank you.

This is the video for me ❤

Rings + Bound - Such a good combo 🥰
When you said budget I laughed because I honestly dont know how much I spend on planner stuff a year. I will use all my stuff but...whew lol

Discs definitely give you the most flexibility for sure! ❤️
Great, informative video! 😊 I think one con of ring & disc planners is how to archive. Hope you can make a video about this 😊

Thanks so much! And yes - it's definitely a bittersweet moment for sure! ♥
This is a great video. Two additional popular brands are Sterling Ink and Hobonichi.
Thank you! Sterling Ink and Hobonichi planners are excellent ❤️
I have B6 rings with 30mm rings. Never have issues finding printable.
🤗 That’s great. Are you able to share where you purchase yours from in case others are looking?

I may have missed it but where is your weekly layout with the grid from? Such a great layout. :)
Hi! It’s from 8Lotus. Definitely my favorite weekly; I’ll probably use the same one next year as well 🤗

Hello, what does it mean “I dissent” written on your planner, if it’s not too nosy? What is that phrase in reference to? Thank you

@@ThePlannerAisle Got it! Thanks ❤️
Don’t forget Franklin Planner
Of course! They have great planners for sure 🥰
