    Hi Chris, My wife and I inspired a lot from your channel, and finally we bought our first sailboat this season (2022), a bavaria 38 - 2004. We also live in Stockholm and start exploring archipelago. Thanks a lot for your video and best wishes to you and Tanja. Can’t wait to watch your new videos.

    X-Yachts has a metal cradle that takes the mast and the keel, so very rigid construction... heads high in the wind and a tall 3 spreader mast with huge sail areas. Mine was the X-442, Ioved her and did quite a bit bluewater cruising in high seas.... spent hour years on. board sailing across Asia

    Great videos. You have a great wife for two main reasons: She enjoys boating (some of my friends and me included consider selling our boats because the wives do not follow). And she enjoys a bubbly on the boat! Wonderful! I hope you had a nice winter.

      Thanks for the kind words Many P, this is said wife:-) So sad to hear that you are thinking about selling your boat, there must be something about boating that your wife likes. And who does not like bubbly! Winter was long, but we are so thrilled that we can soon start the new season. All the best, Chris & Tanja

    Loved the summer season content. Very interesting seeing the sailing experience in Scandinavia. The boat looks great and don’t beat yourself up over the code zero incident, sure it will be fixed back at the loft. Looking forward to getting back to our 470e and changing the saildrive leg 🤔

    Did you ever find out what actually happened to the code zero? Did it catch or production problem? The Wind hold on the auto pilot is also great for setting the sails while singlehanded. Just set the angle to 0 and let the engine run at low revs, gives free hands for setting the sails (no furling main here 🙂) I’ve been looking for a good iPad holder, most are plastic junk. What brand is yours?

    • @SailingAurora
      @SailingAurora  2 роки тому

      Hi Peter, yea we found out what happened and we got it resovled. You will see in the next video. Great advice with the wind hold, thanks. Never thought of using it to set the sails... Nice! The Ipad holder brand I can't remember, just something I bought of Amazon. Thanks for the comment and advice, cheers

    Ripping the Code wasn't nice, sorry for that. Hope you get it fixed. A serrated knife is best for ropes around prop, I've even used a breadknife. Sometimes a hacksaw might work. New season is around the corner, when are you going to splash? Here in Finland it's still pretty wintery, all bays still in heavy ice.

    • @SailingAurora

      Hi Kenneth. Thank you for your kind words. Yes, was a real shame with the sail, but we had a new one on warranty, so we are all set for the new season. And we are so looking forward to the new season, thought it was spring, but we had another load of snow during the week:-( Hopefully we are ready to splash early May, we have a boat show mid May. Hope spring comes to Finland soon. Take care, Chris & Tanja

    It's tempting to run the C0 without the mainsail, as it sometimes feels the mainsail is doing nothing, but you are at a great risk to overload the C0 then. I always used the sail at open waters only, where there was no risk of sudden wind shift. I also noticed you don't use a tack line and use the halyard for trimming. I suppose the roller woudn't work otherwise. You might get better performance with an adjustable tack and maybe the mainsail would cooperate better too?
    Just some thoughts...

    • @SailingAurora
      @SailingAurora  2 роки тому +1

      Hi there, soom good thoughts there, but you are right it would work better with a tack line but the roller woudn't work. ---SPOILER ALERT--- We have a Gennaker on order, this will solve the problem :)

    And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: (Hebrews 9:27)
    For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? (Matthew 16:26)
    For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23)
    The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9)
