I know people are commenting about the age of taking monkhood, this is cruel and havoc and all but it is otherway round. Speak to her and one will understand the maturity she has. She may be eight yrs old but her mind had blossomed into 20. Monkhood is not a curse or treachery but true happiness. We humans are attached to materialistic world so we see things our way but genuinely monks life is happiest because they denounce everything and connect to jina(god). Its a pure bliss. If one wants to feel it, just practice religious meditation for an hour and see the bliss you feel after that. Imagine a person being in meditation for rest of life, and result is eternal bliss. So its not cruel, it a wise decision at young age. People should respect it. Its hindu dharma and sanatan dharma true foundation
May be it is a good decision... But "MAY BE" There was a girl similar to her who did the same ..but later on attaining majority.. She ran away with her boyfriend.
I think she have a younger brother aswell the first picture shows a boy,may be thats why she was brain washed so that she doesn't claim her side of inheritance property and all.
Mahavir was 31 when he took to becoming a ascetic. There has to be a age cut off. Also, a HUGE, lavish, materialistic celebration to give up materialism? There is a conflict right there
I think it's not appropriate for such a small kid to take this decision. If she would just complete her studies and become a good doctor that is also a big thing because a good doctor is just like God or a messanger of God. The way is different but more influencing.
To all those who are mocking the girl and saying she has been brainwashed let me explain, First of you can see the way she is speaking her expression and can see that she is clearly happy in leaving this materialistic world. People don’t know about Jainism and end up smocking the practices lead by them, in Jainism we believe those who renounce this world are born with good karma as they did good things in their previous life. A person be if anyone irrespective of age and gender take diksha to shred their bad karma so that they could achieve liberation. Let me clarify this, for those saying she is just a child and she hasn’t even seen the world , she didn’t experience life pls keep this to yourself. You don’t know Jainism, their meaning for practices shouldn’t just go and comment first you should clear yourself. In Jainism no one is forced to do anything it’s their own wish to do anything whether to renounce or to not. I humbly request everyone to not comment like this, we are not supposed to hurt anyone even an insect and not even by our words, so how can we even force anyone to do anything.
One of the businessman's son in my city embraced monkhood. I wonder how he lives, he even left his family. I cannot think about this as I have materialistic desires
RESPECT AND BOW TO ALL RELIGIONS BUT THIS IS BRAIN WASH...HER PARENTS ENJOYED THE WHOLE LIFE > GETTING MARRIED > HAVING KIDS > GOING TO WORK > COLLEGE EVERYTHING. BUT FOR THIS POOR SOUL ...SAD :(
all of this is fine but not giving up education. well its her decision but the parents should have made her pursue at least grade 12 education. THE IRONY OF OUR COUNTRY IS THAT WHILE SOME GIRLS OF THE RURAL HOOD ARE FIGHTING FOR EDUCATION GIRLS LIKE THEM IN THE URBAN HOOD ARE GIVING UP EDUCATION.
If anyone sees a Buddhist child monk, he will feel respect for him but if a Jain girl leaves the materialistic world and chooses the path of spirituality, she and her parents would be responsible for wasting rest of her life If u think she has wasted her entire life, just talk to any other Jain monk or just gain knowledge about it rather than just commenting and targeting her parents, you'll be definitely clarified
Many families in Budhdism send their first borns Monasteries. It's a tradition however such children are well taken care of and they stay together. There family are more of less very poor to look after children so they send them to Monastery. Monasteries look after them till they become old enough to survive on their own. Here in this case this girl child can never even wear slippers or travel in a vehicle. Jain monastic order doesn't operate on collective existence either. There's a huge difference in the middle path and path of extremity. So the later should be a choice of a grown up person rather than such a small child being brain washed to do it. You are Jain. I agree that you feel protective about it. Nothing wrong. But try to see things from a rational beings perspective.
Each and everyone of them is wrong and totally unworthy of glorification ! Until physical maturity is attained such decisions are beyond doubt ridiculous ! What happened in past was yesteryear tale but now this much gap should be given , say 20 . this is a child we're talking about and things are bound to change in the ways of thinking. if she took this decision as an adult it would seem like a much stabler decision, cuz all children keep having fluctuating wishes. applies to everyone, no matter who you are or which family you were born in. if a few years later she decides to withdraw from this, which is a possibility, it is gonna be so much harder for her to incorporate back into the society and i've read that there's a lot of stigma that comes with it. so why not take this decision when you are actually capable and so much more sure of it?

If anyone sees a Buddhist child monk, he will feel respect for him but if a Jain girl leaves the materialistic world and chooses the path of spirituality, she and her parents would be responsible for wasting rest of her life
If u think she has wasted her entire life, just talk to any other Jain monk or just gain knowledge about it rather than just commenting and targeting her parents, you'll be definitely clarified
