Personally I think the light is a little bright at night, however I’m very picky and like total darkness when I sleep like a creature who belongs in a cave. Even with the light it doesn’t wake me or anything and the sleep mode makes the sound very calming like a noise machine. We love it!

So we use the "1" setting on the air purifier along with a humidifier to add some moisture to the air (and that emits a small amount of noise, as well). Finally, we have the brown noise machine which drowns out those two machines.
