Just curious and maybe even confused. Why did Ellen G. White put in her writing over 1,000 times that all believers are “on probation” and the NT never uses the word one time? Why, if we are on probation, did Jesus say in John 5 that believers “will never come into judgment?” Why did Paul write that believers have “no more condemnation?” Why did Paul write in Ephesians 1 and 2 that we have already been blessed with every “spiritual blessing” and are seated with Christ in heavenly places, if all believers are on probation? Is God playing musical chairs with His children? Just wondering.
Bob Koivisto Hi Bob! I see your question and I thought that I'd help clarify for you. Paul says in romans “For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law; (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.” Romans 2:12-13 KJV. Therefore the law is the standard with which a man is claimed righteous or holy! A man MUST be tested and tried first, by the law of God, to be claimed righteous. Before "condemnation" John 5:24 comes judgement. If a man is found unrighteous, then the condemnation comes. He that is found righteous, has no more condemnation for he himself will be judge, and he will be found in the courts of Heaven. I pray that this helped. If not, please let me know. Have a blessed day. :)
Read Romans 7 and Galatians 2-4. The law of Moses given to Jewish people only, was never kept by anyone except Jesus, and was temporary only, and fulfilled and cancelled at the cross. The New Covenant replaced the Old Covenant and all and every condemnation was erased at the cross and the believer is never in any danger of condemnation or separation from eternal salvation as it is clear in Romans 8.
"By the works of the law, shall no flesh be justified." The law never justified anyone. It was a "failure" as Paul said, because it was "weak through the flesh." "Abraham was justified by faith, not by the works of the law." You quoted John 5:24 which in context speaks of the final judgment by God through Jesus. All believers are exempt from the judgment. Also Romans 8:1 says exactly the same after the discussion in Romans 7 on the cancellation of the Mosaic Law with specific examples of the 10 commandments. Paul makes clear that the law has no claim on the believer Rom. 8:1 and nothing or no one ever in Romans 8:28-32 can ever separate the believer from eternal life with God because Jesus has made us "perfect forever by the one offering of the cross." Heb. 10:14 There is a New Covenant of Grace, not an old covenant of Law.
believing all is done is not safe because Christ ascended in the holy of holys in the heavenly sanctuary to sanctify us and like it was on the day of atornment all men have a role to do and that is deny self resist the devil and evil and do right, dong right is righteouness and the law describes right and wrong Heb 8, Lev 16, matt 5
Jesus said in John 6, "This is the work of God:that you believe on Him whom He has sent...." The Hebrews says: in 10:14, By the one offering of the cross, He has made us perfect forever.." and finally we now have a New Covenant, which is "not like the old one." and then Paul writes:Gal 3:10-13 10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. 11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. 12 And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them. 13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: KJV
