  • Portland 42cc chainsaw gets my honest review I didn’t get this saw for free I paid with my own money. Great saw let’s see how long it lasts!
    The only mods I made were a full comp chain and muffler mod. I did just recently buy a gb titanium bar so well put the puppy to work soon.

    It lloks exactly like a pink way saw i bought my dad a couple weeks ago. Hes 75 and needed something easy to start and so far he loves it. I did pull the muffler and kinda gutted the inside and it seems to have a little more torque. I put a 20 inch husky bar on it that came withy 550xp.

    Love that saw! Bought one last year! Harbor freight! I like it better than my 180 Stihl.

      That’s funny because my buddy has a stihl 180 and this saw will run laps around it!

    The red one might have a small air leak . It definitely sounds like it needs a timing adjustment. People underestimate those cheap saws but i think they are great for the money

      And as far as the leak goes I thought the same it sounds like it but it’s running a lot better.

      @@brainiacproductions357 I've bought 7 saws this year as it's my newest hobby and I've been having the clone saws ported and it's a blast. I'm in this semi truck most the time but when I do get to be home it's all I do lol. I have a 550xp mark2 that's a screamer but this old man built my farmer tech 660 and it's an absolute beast. I have a few top handle saws being done at the moment and a ns872i that just got to the house in the mail but haven't been home yet to see it. It's cool you did the video tho I watch a lot of this stuff while out here on the road. Thanks for sure

      Thank I’ve started “collecting” saws too. I’ve been thinking about getting a holzforma 372 and a couple more too add to the collection. How’s the 660 holding up?

      @@brainiacproductions357 I think the 660 is the best. It's heavy but it's fun and so far no problems. I have an 8 pin sprocket on it at the moment with 24 inch bar and c83 chain. I'm no professional logger but for what I do I couldn't be happier. And if it blows up I could get another and still be way cheaper than a new 661. Yeah I can't say enough good about it actually. I just ordered pop up pistons for all my saws and also caber rings. I'm in this truck most the time and when I see stuff on UA-cam that looks like performance stuff for them I order it and have it at home when I finally get there lol. I help my dad on his farm a little bit mostly my saws are just my toys for real tho.

    When you say muffler modifications what did you do exactly? I almost purchased this saw but wanted to check UA-cam for reviews first. Thank you for the video.

      I just drilled a hole in the top baffle under the deflector and the opened it up. Changed the note sounds pretty nasty if ima be honest. Only problem is it’s sounds very modded

    where did you drill the hole in the exhaust? i just bought this saw and would like to do the same

    • @brainiacproductions357
      @brainiacproductions357  27 днів тому

      I’ll try to post a video on a new saw I got. But under the deflector if you peel it back and leave the back tack welds. Then drill to the right if you shine a flash light it will give you an idea. I wouldn’t drill it right in the hole out of the exhaust port on the cylinder because there’s lots of baffles that’s just melt and that’s your drills.

    Dang it! You forgot to edit in the review.
    Mine leaks all it's bar oil in storage.

    • @brainiacproductions357
      @brainiacproductions357  Місяць тому

      Mine doesn’t leak at all. Have you tried adjusting the oil feed rate? It’s the screw under the chain cover. If that doesn’t work I’d try taking it back for a new unit. Even if you didn’t buy the warranty it’s covered for 90 days.
