Hello I have rav4 2021 the right radar had some issues so we opened the rear bumper to repair After that water was leaking inside the spear tire location What should i do to prevent water for leaking inside
Check to make sure the rubber around the lift gate and bumper are in the proper position and make sure the bumper is put back correctly with no gaps around it. If not then you may have another issue that’s causing water to get in.
Is the bumper pretty flexible once removed? I have a round dent right in the corner of the lower right plastic area and was wondering if it would be easy to pop back out if I went through this whole process.
Yes its flexible, heat up the corner with a heat gun or a hair dryer and push it from behind it should pop up nicely. BE AWARE APPLYING TOO MUCH HEAT CAN PEEL THE PAINT FROM THE BUMPER, IT WILL START TO BUBBLE UP.
Just use a clip tool to remove it and open the door I believe it has a 10mm nut holding it. Remove the little rubber on the bottom side of the door. Beware some of the clips might break and you’ll need two side tape for the top part of the plastic. Beware that part is made to break but just be patient when removing it.
If you need to only replace the lower black texture part of the bumper, you don’t need to replace the bumper, just the bottom part. Pricing I don’t remember but somewhere around $150-$300. Depends where you get it from and if it’s oem or non oem. Remember you get what you pay for.
@@autumn1231 Hey Autumn! Not yet, im working on it, i was thinking on replacing it my self and i looked on Toyota original parts website and, the price is about 208.00 but that is just the price the manufacture suggests, it still subject to change wich means any body shop or dealer will put some price on top of that to make a profit, now but the image only shows the black plastic bumper cover and it specifies that it does not requiere paint, but i see bunch of videos on youtube and everybody seems to be removing it with the panels wich are painted and are part of the car' body so consfused. Again the part in Toyota website only shows the black bumber cover and it says it does not requiere paint. J-flow could help us, woud you gives some info? Thank you, we appreciate it!
@@josueayalallanas7142 thanks. I did see one video where a guy took the bumper off to install LED lights. He was a young guy and did a good job. If I can get some quotes I'll let you know. This is my wifes car and I backed into a wooden planter that was less than 2 feet high. I was inching backward and probably going 1 mile per hour and made a mess out of it.
@@autumn1231 oh my! I can imagine, mine is my wife's too, a guy backed up on us and hit me right in the left corner but he left a huge dent tought. But hey i just fixed it this morning heat it with hair dryer and reached my hand under and bump it back out, now it looks like nothing ever happend, fortunately it was fixable. I hope yours could also be fixed like that. You shoul try though!
@@j-flow617 On the Toyota website the bottom black piece is 2 pieces for some reason. But, I went in person and bought it. It’s one whole piece. Thanks for the reply 👍
Thank you for the video. Someone hit the corner rear bumper of my car. Being that the rear number is plastic, I’m hoping I can take the bumper off and push it back out.
Thanks for the video. Popping out the dents in the bumper with a heatgun proved very effective.
No problem 👍

Very good video. I need to replace the lower valance cover. Can I get to the clips without removing the whole bumper?
@@johnskog7896 nope.

Hey are all the screws 10 mm J besides the plastic?
Only the ones I mentioned, yes
Very good videos, any 2019-2023 Rav4 ones showing outside lower door plastic removal for rustproofing?

Think ill leave it then, don't want to break the plastic on daughters brand new RAV4.
Do I need to remove the rear bumper to replace the rear passenger side quarter panel?
Yes.
is this applies to rav 4 2022 as well?
J-Flow, It looks like if you need to replace the black plastic bumper the panels also get replaced? How much to replace the bumper? Thanks
