I think it would be nice to have a manager, set you a quota, on how many bottles / bags you need to help them fill a truck with and then give you something back for your collecting effort!

This year I said to myself I will start my own business after doing my taxes I will have enough to go into business for myself but at the same time I can donate my free time in learning more about the business and giving an extra hand if needed in the warehouse if they need help

Can and bottle recycling is a bit of a rush! I do it all the time here in southern California.Gas stations are the best places to find cans and bottles because of the mini marts attached to them.Asking those at the gas pumps helps,too.

The good thing about redeeming the cans and bottles is extra money and keeps the streets clean. For me, on a good month, i redeem around $150 and on a bad month i redeem $40.
From each place that you are collecting, are they giving you the bottles/cans for free? Or are you paying them the 5cents/item and then selling to the warehouse for more? Just wanting to understand more as thinking of doing something small upstate.
A truck is 100x better because you can haul more volume than on foot.... I used to camp out in the truck at times until I got a full load...it wasn't easy but I got it started.

I usually do spot checks where the client counts a random bag out the stack. After a few appointments, we develop an understanding... Also the volume of recyclables that gets collected onto the truck smooths out any shorts....its mostly volume.

Just gathered up all the bottles in the house and thn I spoke with the super in my building so I get first dips on the buildings bottles before they go out at night. I Lmaoo trying to figure out best practices and tips to improve so thank u for showing the scalability. About to go drop off my load from last night. Expecting about 15-20 bucks.

In California we get 2.00 a pound for cans and 1.00 a pound for plastic bottles.

Malls, Hotels, bars, and restaurants on most main streets.
So these businesses organize the trash and give it to u free or take half profit
I buy the cans and bottles from them for 0.05¢ and in turn sell them to a recycling facility for 0.06¢ and sometimes 0.07¢. ♻️
