Brad, the Zobel is most likely to protect OP stage from oscillating when certain speakers are used. It can occur particularly with open back cabs and old speakers. I've seen it on a few Fender HRD's with certain old speakers and I think it's one of the (many) reasons they install flyback diodes. It sounds like your speaker cone is damaged but on the CRO you will see micro bursts of oscillation as the wave goes through zero point when driven with a low freq wave. The first time I saw this it had me scratching my head for a while. A 0.1u / 100 R Zobel on OP generally fixes the problem.

Musical power supplies is great. I have an OT from them that I got custom wound for a 2.5W amp. I did get them to overspec it for 20-20kHz at 2.5W, so it's extra beefy. Build quality is great, and sounds just awesome. Amp is a sorta Soldano/Hiwatt mashup.
