    The naked middleweight class is now the most competitive it's ever been, you've the MT-09, KTM 790 & 890R , Street Triple R & RS, Ducati 821 and then the value for money Suzuki GSX-S750 & Kawasaki Z900, something there for everyone.

      Man, the competition has really helped add features and lower the prices for the class. Don't forget the BMW F 900 R is on that list now, too. I think technically it's cheaper than the Kawasaki Z900 and is just as loaded on features. I'm between the MT-09, Z900, and the F 900 R. It's gonna be very hard to choose one.

      I got that exact bike 2 weeks ago in that color... after 6 months of researching and test driving a dozen other bikes.. it really is the best bike out there for the money. Its a pussy cat when you turn it down to L but it turns into a monster when you turn traction control off and give it access to all 125 ponies. I love it to death.

    A couple notes on the bike as an owner. The windshield does absolutely nothing (not a huge issue), it pulls like an animal, it is actually super approachable because of how linear the torque is, the preload is set all the way down in the rear from factory so set it to your correct weight before going into anything crazy, and my last note is that the stock exhaust is TERRIBLE! You are going to want to put a full system on it as soon as possible. All in all it is a fantastic bike that keeps impressing me every time I ride it!

    • @JeffBowe

    I owned the very first Ninja that came out in 1984, the Ninja 900, and the thing I loved most about it was how stable it was. it just felt planted. I can't imagine how sweet this 900 must feel since it's 36 years newer technology. I just wish this Z900 had an upper fairing so you would not be battered by the wind. I don't want a 2020 sport bike in order to get the fairings. the seating positions are to extreme for me,

    The 2020 Z900 has 4 riding modes: Sport, Road, Rain and Rider. You CAN change the modes on the fly, you're not holding down the button long enough and you do have to be off the throttle. I am an old kawasaki fan - the first new street bike I ever bought was a KZ 750 1984 ( I was about 27 then ) . It was a light metal flake blue one with a dark blue pinstripe. I searched for hours and only found one or two of that color . 20 years ago I got a used 1984 KZ 550 LTD . Then in 2019 I got a red Z900 ( only has ABS ) . I liked it so much that I then got a blue 2020 . I have 1500 miles on it and about 6500 miles on the red one .
    I love them both - I am also 6 1 and about 200 lbs .
    I don't do tricks or anything but on the red 2019 bike - after the 600 mile break in, I always accelerated hard . Even so, I got 5000 on the rear tire before replacement . I almost never use the rear brake ...
    The fastest I have been is 145 MPH on both bikes . What about you ?

    I currently own and ride a 2016 cb500f and been wanting a new bike. I feel like mt-07 is just not enough of an upgrade but something like the mt-09 is a bit to much. Really like the idea of the new 2019-2020 cbr650r. 95HP, comfy but still sporty, HAS A WINDSHIELD. But then ive been looking at the z900. Seems like you get so much more bike and unlike the mt-09 this bike seems more comfortable with how it handles its power. Would like your thought as someone who has ridden the mt-07 and 09. Also did the Z900 windshield work at all?

    • @Adamn58
      @Adamn58 3 роки тому +2

      I actually own a 2020 Z900 and I can tell you the windshield does absolutely nothing. But there are aftermarket options to fix that. The Z900 is a truly amazing bike that is so tame down low but rowdy as hell when you pin it! Highly recommend it to anyone looking in that class of bikes. Also if you’re worried about power it makes 95hp in the low power setting so you could always start there and move up to the full 125
