For someone just getting started in Trail trucks, this video and the build series for this truck has given me so many ideas. Stunning video and a great looking truck 👍
I really appreciate the time spent editing the video. Normally I can only handle crawling videos for a couple mins or until I can see what a rig has for component. Great job, watching this build has been great, good luck at axialfest
Jesus, on vacation for 10 days and I missed this epic trail run TIL now....dude you are totally on top of the game! Perspectives Aced! Camera action smooth like butter.
This is SO AWESOME! I love this build, great work man! I like Harley’s too, but this is definitely the winner in my opinion. I’ve enjoyed watching the series and getting ideas for mine!
Very enjoyable, even though it's an rtr body. the philm-O-graphie (motion picture) was a wonderful touch. thank you for posting up the material, allowing me to drool over, yet, another project.
Fantastic job making the video that rig looking proper outside on the trail.Good thing we don't have to vote on the 2 builds would be a difficult choice. Thanks for sharing
Lexan is *NOT* dead lol This has been a great series and you have both done a great job, the "faded" headlights look great in the Honcho and got to love that antenna, it takes me back to my first car in the mid 1980s lol....
It looks great! The coat hanger antenna looks the part. Couldn't help but notice that your mirrors are missing the mirror...time to break out the chrome pen again?
Great run video Matt! Your Honcho looks amazing! From what you have shown us, it looks to be well balanced and ready for what ever gets in its way. I hope you let us know if you put any other work into it. Great job! 👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks very much! This was a super fun, quick video to put together. There's still the final episode for this week, plus the live stream Wednesday night!
Cant wait to see how it does at axial fest wondering if urs or Harleys rig would show a great difference im thinking no but then again saying is its all the driver so curious lol
Dope vid, a, from Ottawa Canada and I have been watching for quite a while and I love your video and trucks, keep it up and I would love too me you one day, awesome.
Very nice car in a very nice Video 👌😉👍! But i think a small droop setup will be the perfect finish for the scale look 😉👌... Best regards from Germany Hannes
@@scalebuildersguild hi. Thanks man. Just got an answer from axial. It's not a rc colour, just something they mixed togheter for the honcho. I got the new 1.9 wraith and i'm thinking of doing an army rig out of it. Just haven't decided if i want to go desert tan or army green.
Awesome job. That's a great looking truck. Good to see it rolling through the woods. Are you going to do anything to it that the buget wouldn't allow? I'll be watching your live show to see. Keep them coming. Later
I probably will yes. Upgrade the motor/esc whenever this setup gives up the ghost, maybe put some axles under it. We'll see what the future holds! Maybe just run it till it will run no further... ;)
Quick question, how where you able to install the spare tire? I have the RTR kit and it came with a few accessories to install the tire. Just need the some direction, thank you
I'm new to the hobby and seeing your vids + Harleys budget build really helps me choose what direction i want to move forward in. Lot's of Fun. On side note tho... I have searched the internet for weeks now and cannot find a Humvee(hummer H1) body for the life of me. It seems to always have been rare... Do you know anything about this?
How'd you make that '01-'04 grill?!! New to RC and looking at grtting the Honcho because it reminds me of a Toyota. You adding that front end makes it look even more like my '03!! (See pic next to username) 😉 thx!!!
what program would you recommend for someone starting to shoot r c videos. nothing on this level just would like to get the 4 hours of shit condensed into 10 min. of fertilizer. thank you keep up the good work bub
Oh snap b! You saw it! Oh man you made my day, thank you yes you will see it at axial fest driven by the new owner 7 year old off 1 crawler Ryan, hope to see you guys there and We are big fans of the show and craftsmanship
That grille really makes the truck look a million times better. Glad you finally got to drive it.
Thanks very much! I'm pretty happy with it.
For someone just getting started in Trail trucks, this video and the build series for this truck has given me so many ideas. Stunning video and a great looking truck 👍
Thanks for the awesome feedback! Really glad that I can help inspire! More series like this coming soon!
What a fantastic video! So rewarding after watching the build series for the past 3 months!
Rewarding for me too! Thanks for watching!
Been watching the build off since the beginning. Glad to see you finally got it out. Awesome video skills and driving at the same time....
Thanks Bob! Driving and filming is always challenging, but it helps when I have the gimbal.
wow... love the marshy terrain and that transition from left to right with the tree @0:46. that was an awesome run.
Thanks! It was fun to put together!
I can't stop watching this video. Really love the build
I really like how those lights turned out in the back and how the yellow just corrects the headlights. Very nice!
Thanks very much, it's a definite improvement.
I really appreciate the time spent editing the video. Normally I can only handle crawling videos for a couple mins or until I can see what a rig has for component. Great job, watching this build has been great, good luck at axialfest
Wow, that's a great compliment thanks! I try to limit running or trail videos to only a few minutes - even I get bored past the five minute mark! ;)
Jesus, on vacation for 10 days and I missed this epic trail run TIL now....dude you are totally on top of the game! Perspectives Aced! Camera action smooth like butter.
Thanks very much, my day job helps.
that last glide shot was on point. Thanks much for all the content!
Thanks very much Gavin! It's all for the love of this hobby!
The Honcho is looking amazing I love what you did to this rig all the upgrades and modifications along with the scale appearance I’m digging it.
Thanks very much! I'm just glad the weather broke long enough to go outside and have some fun!
She looks sweet Matt!! Excellent job on the build & the series, thanks for sharing it all & a fun little bit of trailling too.
Thank you! Still one episode to go!
I love what you have done with this rig and great run video as well. Great job
Cheers!
I’m glad you finally shoveled your way out of the shop to run the thing.
You should see what happened here over the weekend...
Oh you poor soul. So when are you moving ?
Been watching this build every week. 👍👍 It's awesome to see it out on the trails!!! Great work. 👏👏
Thanks very much!
Very pleasant to watch.....do more trail stuff when you can. Made me smile 😊
Will do!

the sticker on the driver side has pulled away from the body a bit....
Thanks very much, it's a very fun truck.
Has it? I'll have to look at that. Thanks!
Nice to see it running. Looks great and appears to be able to handle itself out there...
Yep, it's a pretty capable truck, even with the heavy interior I added.
Yeah bro! this is just awesome! I love the scene with the tree switchin... Really cool cut, man!
Thanks very much!
Jealous! Can't wait to get out and crawl if spring ever gets here in upstate NY! Great video as always!
#AprilIceStorm2018
Fantastic job making the video that rig looking proper outside on the trail.Good thing we don't have to vote on the 2 builds would be a difficult choice. Thanks for sharing
Thanks Robert, I know which one I'm voting for! ;)
I like trail run videos🖒 lol liked the way you were looking around through the brush, then you sneaked up on yourself.
Great job as always. I'm also jealous that you are outside already. Down here in Vermont I'm still burried with snow.
I got outside for that one day. Then the ice storm hit. Ha!
That is Awesome Matt!!! The Honcho looks and runs GREAT. What shines even more, is your videography skills!!! Bravo! 👏👏👏👏👏🍺🍺
Carmine 🚂
Thanks Carmine, guess I won't quit my day job!
GREAT VIDEO!! Looks and performs great!! Loved all the episodes too...
Thanks very much! Two more episodes to come!
REALLY love your style of editing and video it’s refreshing

Na, great video sir.
Great vid nice to see the truck out cruising around
Same! It was fun to get outside!
Kick ass video! My son and I enjoyed it. Thank you!
That's awesome, glad you shared it with your son!
Can you do more videos like this with the honcho, it's my favourite
Great job Matt. Truck runs great. Video was amazing. Worth the wait.
Aw, thanks! That's very kind of you.
That front bumper looks great I'm torn i did want the scalerfab one but now i don't know
Both good choices!
Dude.
Great video.
Old news I know haha.
I like how you made yours more scratch build.
Lots of great details.
2:04-2:15 killer shots dude that suspension movement
Thanks Doug, this was a fun one!
Happy to see this Honcho finally get dirty
Me too!
Lexan is *NOT* dead lol This has been a great series and you have both done a great job, the "faded" headlights look great in the Honcho and got to love that antenna, it takes me back to my first car in the mid 1980s lol....
I was talking about the antenna
Haha, thanks very much. When done right, Lexan can look pretty darn good.
0:45 that was a pretty cool transition!
I have my moments. ;)
It looks great! The coat hanger antenna looks the part. Couldn't help but notice that your mirrors are missing the mirror...time to break out the chrome pen again?
We've got one more episode to wrap up some stuff, that's one of them!
Looks Awesome on the trail. Great shoot. And you got it dirty .👍
Indeed I did. Thanks for watching!
Scale Builder's Guild Always a pleasure
Dude!! Killer job on the video, the shots were amazing! And the truck .... this video is poifect haha!
Thanks a lot! This was fun to put together!
Wow very nice. KEEP UP THE AWESOME WORK from Australia
Thanks very much, I will!

this is pro footage shot in a beautiful place!! Sets the bar!
Wow, thanks very much!
I think we need a video on your camera/filming setup!
I could do that, thanks for the suggestion!
Freaking sweet bro. Looks amazing
Thanks very much!
that truck looks and preforms great awsome video
Thanks very much!
Cant wait to see how it does at axial fest wondering if urs or Harleys rig would show a great difference im thinking no but then again saying is its all the driver so curious lol
Well, he's done some more substantial upgrades so I believe his performance will be superior. All good though, I'll fail while looking good! ;)
Great show. Badass Nissan there Yotamaster
Thanks very much Matt, you know you're Datsuns. ;)
Nice to see it on the trails.
Couldn't agree more!
that is an awesome truck, really liked the video too
Thanks very much!
Dope vid, a, from Ottawa Canada and I have been watching for quite a while and I love your video and trucks, keep it up and I would love too me you one day, awesome.
Thanks Samuel, glad you enjoyed!
Did you look at Rich's site, ( The RC network)? He's going to hang it up for awhile.
Saw that. Sometimes you have to make tough choices, and the hobby is usually the first thing to go. I wish him the best!
Her maiden voyage.
Where you impressed by its performance?.
Nice trail video. The honcho performance looks great
Thanks very much! This wasn't a challenging drive by any means, but it was certainly fun!
Great colour grading on the b-roll!
Thanks a lot!
Very nice car in a very nice Video 👌😉👍!
But i think a small droop setup will be the perfect finish for the scale look 😉👌...
Best regards from Germany Hannes
Nothing wrong with droop! Thanks for watching!
Looks killer ! At the end of the video we can hear something clicking, are you aware of that ?
Excellent video and description as always !
Yeah, I heard that too. It's more pronounced because the footage is slowed down. I'll look into it though!
hello where can i get the toyota tacoma grill
Knight Customs on Shapeways: www.shapeways.com/shops/knightcustoms?section=Axial+SCX10ii+Honcho&s=0
Hey. Do you know the name of the colour used for the honcho?
Sorry no, it’s stock from the factory. I’d guess a desert tan.
@@scalebuildersguild hi. Thanks man. Just got an answer from axial. It's not a rc colour, just something they mixed togheter for the honcho. I got the new 1.9 wraith and i'm thinking of doing an army rig out of it. Just haven't decided if i want to go desert tan or army green.
does it have locked diffs?
It does, just like every single Axial SCX10 variant.
Awesome job. That's a great looking truck. Good to see it rolling through the woods. Are you going to do anything to it that the buget wouldn't allow? I'll be watching your live show to see. Keep them coming. Later

WHOOOO HOOO. FINALLY. Looks even better muddy. I could go on and on. LOL. NICE
Ha, thanks!
Great video Matt. But there is that clicking noise somewhere in drivetrain.
I noticed that too. More pronounced when in slow motion, I'll investigate. Might need a shim.
Quick question, how where you able to install the spare tire? I have the RTR kit and it came with a few accessories to install the tire. Just need the some direction, thank you
Drill a hole or three based on the spare tire mount, and attach to the floor! Super easy!
this is amazing what camera and gears did you use, and what did you use for the Colour corrections?
All in the description. Sony a6500, multiple lenses, and Adobe Premiere for edit and colour.
Awesome video sir! You need to get into film editing lol. Great job man!
Haha, thanks Brad!
I'm glad to see that amazing built truck finally out on the trail. keep up the amazing work sir. How did it preform????
It did pretty well with the limited driving. There will definitely be more!
Scale Builder's Guild right on. Keep up the amazing work
What shock oil are you running?
Whatever came in the shocks as stock from Axial.
30 wt I guess. But why is your truck nodding from left to right when its in motion? Mine is quite stiff (my rig).
It's heavier. A full styrene interior and driver, and I've got the collars all the way to the top.
Allright, I didn't now that this could make so much difference!
This Is the first drive right?
Outdoors it is!
great video, what software did you use? thanks
I cut in Premiere Pro. But it has so little to do with software.
ok
I'm new to the hobby and seeing your vids + Harleys budget build really helps me choose what direction i want to move forward in. Lot's of Fun.
On side note tho... I have searched the internet for weeks now and cannot find a Humvee(hummer H1) body for the life of me. It seems to always have been rare... Do you know anything about this?
Gosh, I know Tamiya used to make a HMMV body, same with new Bright. But I'll bet they're both pretty rare by today's standards. Thanks for watching!
Awesome vid dude🤙
Thank you!
How'd you make that '01-'04 grill?!! New to RC and looking at grtting the Honcho because it reminds me of a Toyota. You adding that front end makes it look even more like my '03!! (See pic next to username) 😉 thx!!!
Knight Customs 3D print. Welcome to the hobby!
Trail run, yay!!!!
Yay indeed!
If you take a heat gun and heat up driver hand you make him grip the wheel. Put him in the freezer after to set the hand in position.
Good tip! My heat gun decided it's only going to be a "comfortably warm gun".
Killer edit. 👍🏼
Cheers!
Much better scale build than Harley's...IMO.
Harley focused more on the performance, and I have complete respect for that.
This is badass😂 It’s the scale version of my videos!
I'll have to check out your stuff! Thanks for watching!
This is an older video so sorry I’m so late to the party but good job Matt.👍
About time, I thought it was going to be a shelf queen. 👍
There are no shelf queens in my collection. Except for maybe the Exo.
somebody has to find a way to make the wipers work!
It's been done Dean! I think RC Mart has a kit.
je laisse un commentaire avec 5 années de retard pour dire bravo superbes images et plan cinématographique magnifique et pour finir un exelent montage
Mieux vaut tard que jamais! Merci!
